Reed Richards was at the Science Fair with his friend,Ben Grimm,working on the Project. Apparently,His Project failed. Reed was invited by Franklin Storm to work on a Project with his Daughter and Son,Susan and Johnny. He worked with Victor Von Damme. They had succeeded by sending test subjects to another dimension known as Planet Zero. After Harvey Allen plans to send NASA to venture,Reed,Johnny,and Victor planned to do it before NASA. Reed invites to Ben to come,which he agrees. By the time they embark on Planet Zero,the ground begun to erupt with green lava like substance. Reed,Johnny,and Ben return to the Shuttle,but lost Victor. They barely escape,but gets infected with genetic level,giving the superhuman abilities: Reed can stretch like rubber,Susan can become invisible,Johnny can engulf his body in fire and fly,and Ben became a rock like monster and can use superhuman strength.
Allen conscripts Reed to rebuild the Quantum Gate in exchange for giving Reed the resources to find a cure. Arriving on Planet Zero,Allen's Explorers find Victor,who has been fused with his spacesuit and has telekinetic abilities,and brings him back to earth. Believing that Victor will recreate a New World of Doctor Doom,He kills scientists and soldiers in the base,including Allen and Storm,and returns to Planet Zero.
Reed,Susan,Ben,and Johnny pursues them to stop Victor. They get overpowered,but Reed manage to free himself and tells Susan,Johnny,and Ben about having their powers for a reason. Reed distracts Doom,allowing Ben to punch Doom into the Portal Beam while Johnny closes it. The group escape and are applaud by the people. Reed and the others are given a new base. They decided to use their powers to help people,dubbing themselves as "the Fantastic Four".

Reed begun building a robot,calling him a Highly Engineered Robot Built for Interdimensional Exploration. Johnny wants to call him,H.E.R.B.I.E. Reed was annoyed,but agrees.
