A/N: FF is being a bit weird. Hopefully you guys are able to access all the chapters (this will be chapter 4 obviously) but if not let me know. For some reason on some days the story shows that only 2 chapters are available and other days it shows all the chapters. I think there may be some maintenance going on...? Idk.

Spring Break Problems
Spring break had snuck up on Nazz but not her family. They'd pleaded with her to come home for the week to which Nazz had to decline more than once.
Probably more than fifty times.
Her mother had wailed to her over the phone.
"Pleeeeeaaase!" Cried Christine, "We miss yoooooouuu!"
"Mom don't make me feel bad!" Nazz had pouted, "I want to stay at school to study and I need to get ready for some projects for next week. I don't want any distractions!"
Her parents (mostly her mother) had finally relented with sadness.
Nazz did feel bad. Not because she decided she needed to stay at school for the week but because she'd only told a half-truth as to why she needed to stay.
Sure, she could study but she didn't need to. Nazz had top grades in pretty much all her classes. And yes, she had projects to do but they weren't due for weeks down the line.
No, the reason she'd stayed behind was to spend her time at the near empty school with Tristen. Nazz was kind of looking forward to it too if she were honest. She would finally be able to grasp a firmer handle on their relationship and where they stood with one another.
Or at least she thought…
Sitting on her bed in her dorm-room Nazz typed away at a school paper that she'd turn in after the break was over. The head bud in her ear chirped however when her blue tooth notified her that she'd received a text message. She paused the punk rock she'd been listening to and looked to her phone.
Her lips thinned into a frown and she released an annoyed sigh.
Tristen had to head home for an emergency family situation.
She knows she should be sympathetic but honestly this felt like just another one of his excuses. She plopped her chin into her hand and rethought her situation. Her eyes scanned the messy dorm room. She'd have it to herself since her two other roommates left to return home for the break.
Well…she did have a lot of laundry that needed to be done. And the laundromats weren't getting any cheaper.
What the heck; looked like she was going home after all.
It was late afternoon by the time Nazz had loaded all her necessities into her car for the 6 hour trip. She'd surprise them is what she had in mind. The pretty blonde could hardly hold in her giggles as she imagined the look her mom would give.
Screw Tristen. She missed her family anyway.
...
The drive was long but it was an easy one. Nothing but open roads the whole way there. Nazz stayed in a college town but prior to reaching it you passed through a lot of farm land. It was actually a pretty pleasant drive. She'd made three pit stops and broke down and bought a slushie.
"I'll work out extra hard tomorrow!" She told herself.
And by the time she'd pulled into Peach Creek, into the old cul-de-sac and into her driveway it was very dark out. It was just a little past 11p.
Nazz got out of her car and gave a big happy stretch. Glad to be back home.
She moved to the back of her car and opened the trunk revealing the three baskets of laundry she would tackle this week. She was in the midst of pulling out the heavy basket when something caught her eye. It was a light. Further off in the distance towards the vast property that belonged to Rolf's family. It was coming from their barn. It was then Nazz realized that all the animals were still out and about.
Which was strange. The young farmer usually had them all in by 9p and that's something that Rolf would definitely not forget.
Nazz placed her basket back in the trunk. She wondered if Rolf was there? They'd never spoken about the incident that happened at the Christmas party.
Nazz bit her lip and shifted her keys from one hand to the other nervously.
Should she even try? Enough time had gone by where they could probably just sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened. But…there was something about that night that had been bugging Nazz. Something that tore at her curiosity overwhelmingly.
If she tried to pretend this thing never happened, she'd never get an answer and that bothered the blonde more than anything. She took a deep breath and steeled her resolve.
She made her way purposely across the cul-de-sac. She passed through the gates that bordered off the property from everyone else's. It was dark and the rural land barely seemed visible by the moonlight but luckily, she only needed to follow the light shining through the barn door.
She passed by Wilfred the pig, Victor the goat and the many chickens Ed loved so dearly. They didn't give her too much notice. She began to hear a shuffling sound coming from the barn and when she was near enough, she pulled the barn door back to reveal large bales of fresh hay and Rolf further inside with a pitch fork spreading the hay about evenly. His back turned to her he seemed to be muttering to himself irritably. Nazz couldn't make heads nor tails of it because he muttered in his language.
She'd stepped inside and thought it best not to get too close to him (or anyone for that matter) with a pitchfork least she startle him.
It turned out this had been a good decision.
"Uh, what's up du-?"
"Son of a shepherd!" He cried turning to her suddenly. Looking to her his surprised look intensified tenfold and Nazz began to immediately regret her initial plan.
"What is Nazz girl doing, once more, on the land of Rolf!?"
She smiled nervously, "Surprised to see me huh?"
Spikes in the air Rolf placed the pitchfork to the ground and leaned against it. He eyed her for a moment and Nazz felt the corners of her lips twitch with the need to laugh at her own discomfort.
"Rolf thinks that is obvious. Do tell; does Nazz-girl always run freely upon the land of others in the middle of the night to incite ridiculous questions?"
This time a small giggle of worry did escape her, "Only when it's Tuesday."
He glowered, "It's Sunday."
She cleared her throat, "That was a joke."
When he continued to stare at her wordlessly Nazz quickly spoke up again,
"Listen Rolf…I think…um…well I kinda want to…that is I think we…" She crossed her arms before herself in a self-assured hug as she lowered her slowly blushing features away from him, "we should probably…talk about…you know. The thing…that happened…at the Christmas party…"
She heard the shuffling sound again and looked up to find that Rolf had turned his back to her again and resumed spreading out the hay.
He muttered in a low tone that dripped discontent, "Rolf find's Nazz's attempts at immoral inquiry most vexing. If you are quite through demoralizing yourself than Rolf shall bid you adieu."
Nazz stood frozen as Rolf continued his task. Rolf always spoke with a dry irritation when he was annoyed but he'd never talked to her like that. Nazz's jaw clenched and she made her way purposefully toward him. She noticed him tense and she was quite sure he could hear her shuffling through the hay to get to him. She raised her hand to grip at his shoulder but before she could he'd turned suddenly on her and grabbed at the offending wrist.
He glared and spoke lowly, "What is it that the Nazz girl thinks she is doing?"
She looked up to him with determination, "We need to talk." She was proud that her voice didn't waver.
He huffed, "There is nothing that needs to be said betw-"
"Rolf," She spoke almost in desperation, "I don't want this thing hovering over us…it could seriously wreck our whole friendship."
"What thing do you speak of!? Nothing happened!"
"I beg to differ," Nazz scoffed, "A lot happened actually!"
Rolf took a deep breath in an attempt to cool his nerves. Without looking at her and as calmly as possible he said, "It was just a kiss."
Nazz fumed bitterly, "You're downplaying this."
"Rolf resents you bringing it to light in the first place! Had you not this whole thing would have…blown away by the great gust of shame of Rolf's ancestors!"
"Dude we practically had…se-sex right there against my door!"
Rolf jammed his pitchfork in a pile of hay. He still held Nazz's wrist with one hand, he tightened his grip.
"Do you think of Rolf as such a bewildered neanderthal that he has no self-control!?"
"The lights were off and we didn't really know what we were doing! Anything could have happened at that moment and I think it warrants us to at least talk about it!" She pulled at her wrist.
"Rolf does not wish to speak of it!" He pulled her close to him making Nazz have to tilt her head back to keep their heated gazes connected. "We shall never speak of it again!"
She pulled her wrist again, "Hey, now listen-!"
He pulled her back to him, "Why can't Nazz-girl just let it go?"
She pulled back. Hard. "Because you kissed me back!"
Rolf stilled with a sudden tense.
His grip loosened and she stumbled back ungracefully but with flailing arms she'd been able to grab at his shirt and pull him down with her! Thank goodness for the hay which served to soften their blow.
His dark brown eyes were wide. They bored down into the pretty green eyes beneath him. A soft shower of hay rained over them as they stared the other down.
His face was just inches from hers their noses almost touching. Her hand still clung tightly to his shirt while both his hands clenched tightly at the hay at her sides.
They had fallen on the soft cushion of hay with Nazz on her back and Rolf barely hovering over her. Nazz stared up at him in wonder feeling her heart hasten and her face heat up.
It bothered her. Nagged her to no end. Why had that night in her room gone the way it had? Why hadn't Rolf just stopped her? Why didn't they laugh it off like friends should? Why could they no longer look the other in the eyes for more than ten seconds?
It also bothered her how absolutely clueless she had been. If she'd been thinking she'd had realized that she'd had to stand on tip-toe to catch his lips that night. Kevin was never that tall. Also, Kevin had never reacted so desperate and forceful with her. There'd been such a strong sense of urgency.
He'd kissed her with everything he had.
Her face now bright red she bit her lip to try and silence her uneven breathing.
One of his legs was bent at her side. His other leg was between her legs. He'd yet to say a word but he moved that knee up ever so slowly…bringing the jean skirt she wore up with it…
The barn felt like static as they continued to regard each other through half hooded gazes. Nazz clenched tighter to his shirt…was she pulling him towards her? He moved over her lowering himself down to her… she felt her skirt still inching up.
There was one more thing. Something that no matter how hard she tried to shake from her mind it just wouldn't go away.
It had excited her.
It had excited her to no end what she'd almost done with Rolf that night in her room. And if she really thought about it, she'd come to the conclusion that she'd been waiting to do it again.
Their eyes closed.
They took in that last inch.
Their lips touched and seared.
There was nothing left between them.
She'd been waiting to do it again.
