Remnant

Weiss watched with growing dread as the humanoid figure descended onto the stage with the woman. They had similar attire, with glowing yellow eyes and short black hair. They appeared to be a man, well built and tall. Bug like wings protruding from his back slowed to a stop explaining his earlier flight. The two then looked directly at Weiss.

Weiss immediately grabbed Hope into her arms and shoved her way down the isle. Yang, Blake, and Ruby realizing there was a situation immediately got to action in a defensive position around Weiss as they followed, ignoring people's comfort around them. A loud boom made the stadium roar with cries of fear as Weiss was thrown from her feet into the air. The man on the stage closed his smoking mouth, as his eyes glowed a sinister yellow. He took flight again as Weiss tried to orient herself in the air. Hope to her surprise held her tight and sprouted her wings out.

"Hold on mama!" Hope cried.

Weiss, confused, held on tight as Hope flapped her powerful wings straitening them out before Flying up to the sky. Weiss was shocked. She didn't her daughter had such physical strength. Hope took a breath and her wings beat the air with a powerful burst of force rocketing them farther away as the bug winged man shot after them. The man opened his mouth, a second set of jaws, sharp and metallic, protruding as a small black orb shot from his mouth at Hope and Weiss. Hope banked right as the orb went past. Lucky she did as the orb then exploded with tremendous force.

"HE CAN SHOOT BOMBS FROM HIS MOUTH?!?!?" Weiss shrieked. She clung to Hope, fear and disgust griping her entire being. Weiss moved one hand to her hip, gripping Myrtenaster and drawing it. She pointed it towards the bug winged man as Hope flew them away from Amity Arena. The skyline of Mantle far below them, Weiss summoned several glyphs. The glyphs shot Ice back at the bug winged man as Hope dodged and weaved away from bombs.

Jet, Penny, and Pietro watch with surprise as the TV shows the events transpiring on Amity Arena. Jet's eyes were wide. Then she growls, grinding her teeth before leaping off the couch and dashing down the hall into the lab, Her blue eyes glowing.

"JET!?" Penny shouts out in surprise.

Jet ignored her, opening a panel, laying her hand on a scanner which accepts her opening a hatch to the deeper part of the lab. Penny follows after with surprise as Jet slides down the railing of the stairs leading to the main floor of the lab. The lab itself was large and full of parts and machinery. Jet races to the other end and yanks off a blue tarp.

Hope dives down low as the sky around her explodes in multiple bursts of fire like flak gun bursts. She races at incredible speeds as Weiss desperately tries to hit their chaser with various Dust attacks. The bug winged man let out a screeching metallic roar as he gained on them. His mouth closed as the man's eyes glowed brightly as a beam of yellow lightning shot out. Weiss tried blocking the beam with a glyph only for it to explode and send Hope and Weiss off course for a moment, falling between the buildings before Hope could reorientate, snapping left down a busy street. The man sent more lightning from his eyes blasting the area around the two, blowing up whole sections of buildings as he tried to blow them out of the sky. The ground shook as Hope beat her wings with enormous strength sending a shockwave through the street, shattering windows and setting off car alarms. She rocketed through the narrow gap as fast as she could, her eyes wide and her heart beating a million miles and hour. Her breathing was quick, and her mother was getting so heavy in her grip.

Snapping right, trying to shake the big winged man her eyes went wide as she flew through a large sign for some advertisement. Weiss gasped as Hope and her began spiraling toward the ground. Weiss summoned all her strength bringing forth a long line of glyphs, sliding Hope and her along it safely to the ground as Weiss reoriented them a third time. This time Weiss positioned Hope above her as Weiss waited for solid ground. Then she kicked her heel into a sprint running down the street with Hope in her arms only to skid to a stop as the man landed roughly in front of her. He glared at her and roared that screeching metallic roar. Weiss gave a battle cry and jammed her blade into his chest. The blade struck true and went through his body. The man looked down to the blade and gripped it by his hands before snapping it in half. He then stalked forward towards Weiss who with wide terrified eyes backed up. The man raised his hand, his expression turning to sadistic glee.

Then the ground shook as something large landed behind the man. Weiss looked up in awe at a large white and red Mech with a diamond shaped head and two large blue eyes. It had a wide permanent smile and two clawed hands. The body was bulky and it's legs short. Through the smile, a voice rang out from speakers.

"You leave them alone!" The Mech said. Weiss recognized that voice.

"Jet?!"

Jet laughed through the speakers before trying to deepen her voice. "Fear not citizen, I will save you!"

The bug winged man turned to Jet's Mech and shot lightning at it. Jet laughed triumphantly as her Mech absorbed the energy before she smacked the man with a metal arm sending him through a car.

"Go Miss Weiss! I will handle this guy!" Jet assured. Just as she did, Penny rounded a corner at the pace of an Olympic athlete, sprinting in fast long strides. When the man got up he was met with Penny's shoulder as the shoulder checked him through a building. Penny then turned to Jet, her eyes narrowed in anger, and her green eyes glowing.

"Daughter Jet, when this is over, you are the grounded!" Penny scolded.

"Awww!" Jet complained.

Weiss continued down the street away from the fight. She checked over Hope as she did making sure her daughter was alright. Hope was still awake, though definitely dazed. She turned a corner, her eyes filling with tears as her breathing quickened more and more. That's when she saw a woman in the middle of the street, elegant and beautiful. She was walking towards Weiss with a smile, her red eyes like glinting rubies. Her golden hair was long and she wore a long silver dress that hugged her form perfectly. Protruding from her back were a set of four wings. Two upper, and two lower like those of a dragon fly. A car skidded to try and stop as the woman crossed an intersection. The woman without looking swatted her hand at it, crushing the front of the car, and flinging it several yards away. Her lips curled into a savage grin. Her beauty fading as her lips revealed rows of needle like teeth.

Jet felt very comfortable in her Mech. The J1 Jaguar as she'd named it. It's clawed hands rotated as she turned the Mech towards The Queen's attacker. Penny stood by her side, her weapons 'Floating Array' out and ready. The man stood amidst the rubble, his yellow eyes glowing with anger. With a burst of speed he flew towards Jet. Penny jumped out in front of her in a defensive stance and they collided. Penny slid back, the ground cracking beneath her as the man pushed against her. Jet took the opportunity, grabbing the man and slamming him into the ground, a shockwave echoing through the area. When Jet lifted her mech's hand she found herself shocked to see a tunnel.

Penny kneeled over the hole, her robotic mind trying to analyze the scene, but couldn't make any sense of the situation. The man was nowhere to be seen in the tunnel, and it was clear it was only just carved.

"A tunnel maker?" Penny muttered to herself.
