As the day drew to a close, The two police cruisers pulled into the parking lot of Fazbear's. They would have gotten there hours before if Clawhauser hadn't insisted on picking up a few things before they reached the pizzeria. Judy and Nick found his list a bit peculiar, but they decided to humor him. They had first stopped at a hardware store and picked up a set of drill bits, Inch thick bolts, a set of walkie talkies, a pistol safe with a combination lock, multiple digital stopwatches and timers, a portable charging battery, four large flashlights, and three boxes of C cell Energizers. They then stopped at his house and picked up a drill, a backpack, a messenger bag, and a notebook filled with pages of paw written numbers and tables, with the abbreviations "Fr", "Bo", "Ch", and "Fo" scattered throughout it.

Nick and Judy climbed out of their cruiser and walked over to the other one. Bogo was in the driver seat, watching Clawhauser work with his inventory. First he took a charging cable, attached it to one of the walkies and the other end to the charging battery. He then used a Sharpie and, consulting his notebook, wrote the names of the animatronics over each display, setting them to: 3.02 sec, 4.9 sec, 4.98 sec, and 5.01 sec, Respectively, setting them to repeat automatically.

[Author's note: I'm not making these numbers up. These are the actual numbers used in the game's code to tell the animatronics when to try to move.]

He then opened all the C cell batteries and, much to Judy's puzzlement and Nick's amusement, he placed all the batteries in the safe and locked it. He then put the safe in his messenger bag, everything else in his backpack, and said, "OK, ready.

Mike Schmitt was sitting in the security office in the back of the pizzeria. His mechanical eyes stared blankly at the old monitor as he resurfaced old memory files from years past. The cameras and recording devices had been switched off during the day, the excuse being to conserve power costs, but Mike suspected otherwise. He reminisced about his last week on the job, the subtle signs he had missed, the feeling of impending doom that had clung to him like a shadow. The one thing he prided himself on was the fact that he had made it longer than any other security guard, and would have made it out alive as well had it not been for Afton's intervention.

The sound of approaching footsteps snapped him from his thoughts. He turned towards the doorframe on his right and saw Judy and Nick. He smiled -or did something with his jaw that resembled a smile- nodding his head in greeting.

"Hello you two. Back for more?"

"Well, we wanted to see if this could get any better." Nick retorted.

Mike chucked. "guarantee you with every fiber of what's left of me, It won't. But thanks for coming anyway." Just then Bogo rounded the corner into the office with a disbelieving look on his face. For a moment, the room was filled with an awkward silence, broken only by the hum of the outdated machinery.

"Bogo?" Mike's voice was a mix of astonishment and relief. "Been a while."

Bogo stood there, his eyes filled with unspoken emotions. "Yes it has Mike. I can't believe this happened to you."

Mike was about to speak when Clawhauser bustled in from the other door, panting. He took one look at Mike and, with a look of puzzlement and terror, shone the flashlight full brightness into Mike's eyes.

Mike blinked and smiled. "That doesn't work on me, Ben. It's good to see you again though." Clawhauser slowly lowered his flashlight; astonishment on his face. "You know me?" Mike motioned towards the black notebook "I see you found my notebook. I wrote down everything I noticed about this place. You should find around page 20 a section about the Facial ID and recognition systems in every animatronic. Fazbear Entertainment never forgets its guests. Even if they haven't visited since they were Eight years old."

Judy stepped closer, hesitant but curious. "Mike, you said this place was haunted by more than just memories. What did you mean by that? What's the truth about this place?"

Mike went silent for a few minutes before he answered. "Come with me. It's easier to show you." They group followed Mike out of the office and down the corridor. They walked through the main party area and towards the backstage room. As they walked in, they all saw spare animatronic heads on the shelves and an old, rusty endoskeleton on the table.

Mike walked over to the corner under the camera where there was an old push button phone on the wall. He pushed the buttons on it, muttering "3…9…5…2…4…8…double hashtag." He then turned to the officers and grinned. "Watch this" Mike smiled and typed in quick succession: "1,9,8,7".

The wall behind the table suddenly slid backwards, revealing a small elevator shaft. Mike stepped into the car, motioning for Judy and Nick to follow him. When they were all in, Mike turned towards the following two and said "I'm sorry you two, but I don't think you'll fit. You can wait for us in the office. we'll be back soon. He then slid the door shut and the car distended below the floor.

Nick had seen quite a few things in his time as a cop, and even more things as a con artist, some of which he had yet to bring up the courage to tell Judy about. However, nothing could have prepared him for what he saw when the doors opened. The room was about 20 feet square and looked like something out of a horror film. Against one wall was a desk with monitors, VHS tapes and a camera. Along another was a table with what looked like a huge chemistry experiment. There were dog eared blueprints of animatronics and old tools hanging on the wall and mechanical arms from the ceiling. In the center of it all was what loosely resembled a dentist's chair with a million more attachments on it. The place smelled like old rust and fear.

"What the heck is this place?" Nick asked; not even sure if he wanted to know. Mike turned towards them both. "This is the assembly room. This is the real purpose of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

"You both probably know that the place opened under a name called Freadbear's family Diner. The place was just an entertainment venue at the time. Nothing more. One day, a child died from an accident behind the restaurant and Affton discovered this." He walked across the room and took a wrench from the wall. He unscrewed a panel from his chest and reached his paw inside. When he took it out, there were streaks of what looked like pulsing mercury on his claws.

"What's that?" Judy asked.

"Remnant." Mike said. "The building lies on a Space-time anomaly that causes dead bodies to emit it. It binds the soul of the dead mammal to whatever object it seeps into. Affton discovered that, when injected into the body of a living mammal, it prolongs age. Theoretically, with enough of it, one could become immortal." Mike spoke nonchalantly as if he was giving a lecture during a business meeting.

"So, Affton killed kids to get that stuff." Nick said, catching on.

"Yes, he did. He lured them into the back room wearing an old animatronic costume, took them down here, and then did it. He was smart though, and hid them in a place nobody would look."

"Where's that?" Judy asked.

Mike's smile grew. "That's upstairs at the moment."

A few minutes later, Mike stood in the center of the party room with the four officers in front of him. He looked at all of them, knowing exactly what they would say when they learned the truth.

"Are you ready to see what happened to the kids?" he asked. They all nodded. Nick crossed his arms "Get on with it." Mike smirked, turned around and yelled into the room "Wake up everyone! We have Guests!

After a few seconds of silence, the eyes of the four animatronics lit up one by one. They looked around, locking onto the officers. They stepped off the stage, and walked up to the group, their eyes flickering. Mike turned towards the officers and observed their reactions. Nick was doing a bad job of acting disinterested, Bogo was eying the exit door, Clawhauser's eyes were wide and his jaw was doing speed pushups, and Judy's face was a mixture of full force shock and unbelief.

Mike smiled. Officers, I'd like you to meet the children of Fazbears. This is Gabriel, you know him better as Freddy. Then we have Susie, better known as Chica, Bonnie, or rather Jermy, and finally.." Mike glanced around. "Oh hold on." He started counting down on his claws. "3…2…1…"

Suddenly, an animatronic ran full force from behind a curtain marked "out of order". Mike put his claw up and said "Hold it Fritz! They're friends. Guys, this is Fritz. He's better known as Foxy." The animatronics stared at the officers, their servos clicking. Judy was still finding it hard to wrap her head around everything she had seen over the past hour. "How long has this happened?"

"Roughly thirty years ago; maybe thirty-five." Mike said. I was the last one before the place closed down."

"Who was the first?" Bogo asked.

"Cassady. She doesn't come out often. She's known by the staff as Golden Freddy."

Judy and Nick looked at each other. They knew that they'd stumbled into something bigger and even worse than they'd ever imagined, and they felt that they had to do something to help the kids and Mike. As they left the pizzeria, Mike spoke up. "Uh, officers, I don't think this is over." Nick felt his fur lifting off his spine. "What?"

Mike's eyes looked towards each officer in turn. "The effect of Remnant is only permanent on the soul that generates it. Affton collected enough to last him around thirty or forty years. He should be running out about now."

Judy's eyes grew wide. "Which means he'll kill again"

Mike's eyes grew hard. "I think it's worse than that. I think He's developing a system for mass genocide. and, well," Mike looked down at his rotting shell. "I can't exactly help stop him like this."

Bogo looked alarmed. "What are we going to do then?"

Mike smirked. "If the cat I'm thinking of is still alive, I might have a chance."

Nick was intrigued. "What are you saying?"

Mike looked at Nick, Judy and then Bogo. "Could you guys run a background test for me, on a Leopard named Henry Emely?"
