Chapter 1: The Beginning (Finding a Egg)
I do not OWN Ninjago or Spyro the Dragon. They are both own by their respective owners. The only thing that I own is my OC and the story plot.
Also in this story Cole's not afraid of dragons, but still is afraid of snakes and ghosts.
Note: My OC Cinder is a dragon, not a dragoness. Just to be clear on this to not confuse anybody.

A long time ago, before anything have a name, there was a man. He was called The First Spinjitzu Master, and he was a mysterious man. Coming from a faraway land that no one but himself knows. He came to this land to create his own world. Going to a huge mountain in the middle of a vast sea, he created the four Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu. The four weapons are the Scythe of Quakes, the Shurikens of Ice, the Nunchucks of Lightning, and the Sword of Fire. He used the weapons to create the land known as Ninjago.
A couple of years later he had two sons, their names were Garmadon and Wu. He loved both of them, but soon after a few years he passed away. Leaving both sons to protect the weapons from the forces of evil. Unfortunately, the eldest son was bitten by a snake when he was young, which its venom started to corrupt him to the darkness of evil.
Soon, he wanted the weapons for his own deeds, but there was a cost. If anyone holds all four weapons at the same time, they'll be vaporized from existence. Both brothers fought to see who would win for the weapons. They clashed with the Weapons in their hands a nd a massive flash of lightning came down with a Bang, sending each brother away. Soon Wu was held down by Garmadon and knew he lost, but was saved when the protections on his kimono glowed and blasted his brother back. When Garmadon recovered, he wasn't human anymore, he was a monster now. He glares at his brother and is about to charge towards him, when a portal appears below him and falls into the Underworld. When the portal was closing he promised that he'll get revenge and claim the Golden Weapons again for himself, and the portal soon closed.
Wu knew that his brother would come back with the aid of the Skulkin, and so, took each weapon to a location far away from each other. Marking each location on a map, he went to an old friend and asked to hide the map. His friend agrees to hide it, and Wu leaves back to his father's monastery. Knowing that his brother will return, he'll need to find students to train to become protectors of his Father's land. Not knowing that he'll have a student with a special gift to become one of his students.
—-40 Years Later—
Lou paced back and forward, looking at the clock then the back at the door. He looked around the hallway, hearing the screams from her as she was in labor. He was such a happy, but nervous man, knowing he'll be a father to his new child. His wife's friends and parents and his were here also, waiting for the labor to be over.
"Lou, don't overwork yourself by worrying. Lily will be ok, she wouldn't want to see you so worried"
"Sorry Wu" Said Lou, looking at the youngest son of the First Spinjitzu Master. Wearing a black kimono with white sleeves with letters of the Ninjago language on the right side of the torso. His white hair was starting to grow out, wearing a straw hat on top of it.
Lou knew that Wu was a good man. He was the one to help Lily with using her elemental powers over earth. He was also the one to help Lou to create a wedding ring for Lily, by asking Ray, Master of Fire and Maya, Master of Water to help. They both are blacksmiths that make weapons, tools, and armory.
"I know Wu, but I'm so nervous, this is my first time having a child. So I'm going into being a dad blind, I'd like some assistance on how to raise a child."
"Don't worry son, your father and I will help as much as we can." Sadie said
"Yeah, same with me and your father-in-law with this." Luna said
"Thanks mom, thanks Luna." Lou said with a tired grin
Suddenly, there was a loud scream and then, the sound of a baby wailing in the room. Soon, the doctor came out and told them to come in. Lou entered first, and saw his wife Lily sitting in the hospital bed exhausted. Her brown hair was in a mess and her black eyes tired of the labor. She was holding a bundle in her lap, cradling it carefully. She smiled weakly as her husband came in, followed by her parents and then Lou's parents.
"How are you feeling Lily?"
"I feel fine, just exhausted "
"That's good, you just rest ok love. Now... Can I see our child as well. I want to see what our child looks like."
"Ah ah ah ah, ok then "
She removes the cover of the bundle, revealing the baby to be a boy, to her family. Everyone in the room looked at the baby, he had a short bit of black hair and his eyes black, a mixture of both parents.
"Oh Lily, he's adorable"
"He he he he he, I know, what should we name him?"
"Mhhhhh, I don't have a clue of what to name him."
"Well, how about Cole?"
"Cole... that's a perfect name for him"
"He he he he he, well then, welcome to the world Cole Nathan Brookstone."
—-4 Years Later—
It has been four years since Lily's and Lou's child was born, and things have gone well for the three member family. Lily was happy to have a child to cherish with, telling him stories of things she saw and did as an elemental master. Her son was in awe of her stories and wondered if he could do those things as his mother did. Lou was happy as well of having a son to follow his legacy of dancing, but Lily told him that her elemental powers might transfer to him. Making him become the next Elemental Master of Earth.
"You sure that our son will get your powers, Lily love?" Said Lou
"I'm certain Lou, he'll probably have them, I know you want to pass your legacy onto Cole. But he'll probably need to train so he has control over them." Said Lily
—-A Few Weeks Later—
Today Lily needed to go to the market to get some groceries. She had Cole with her because Lou was in Ninjago City for a dancing competition, so she couldn't leave him at home by himself. Also that everybody was too busy to watch him, so Lily had to bring him along. Which was fine, some mother-son bonding time is fun to do.
"Ok, the last item I'll need is milk, then we'll go home, alright Cole?"
"Ok mommy." Said Cole
Soon, Lily and Cole were at the cash register, pay for everything and soon were walking back home. It was a hot day, and both were wearing white t-shirts and shorts. Because wearing black will absorb sun heat, but wearing white or bright colors will reflect it. A few minutes later, they're almost home, when Cole noticed something.
"Hey mommy, what's that?" He said
"What's what son?" Lily said, confused
"That, there's something poking out in the bushes over there!" He said, pointing at some bushes.
"Ok Cole, let's take these bags inside first, then we'll go check what you saw, ok?" Lily said
"Ok mommy!" He said
They got home, put the groceries away, and went back outside. Lily told Cole where he saw the object and followed the 4-year old son to a group of bushes. Then, she saw it. In the bushes was an egg, not a chicken egg, as it was the size of a rain bucket. The color of the egg was light purple with small patches of magenta red. Lily then noticed the texture of the egg was scaly in some areas, and stone-like in others.
"What kind of egg is this? I have never seen something like this. I wonder if Wu knows what type of creature is in this egg?" Lily though.
"Mommy, are we going to bring this home with us?" Cole said
"Of course honey, let's take this back home with us. Just so that any predator wouldn't take it as a snack. Come on, let's head back home and tell your daddy what we found, ok?" Lily said with assurance
"Ok mommy!"
They both headed back home, Lily carrying the strange egg in her arms. Not knowing what events will happen in the next few months.
—20 Mins Later—
"So you and Cole found an egg, then brought it home with you?" Said Lou
"Yes. It wasn't a normal egg either, it was the size of a rain bucket." Lily said
"Really? What color is it." Said Lou
"Well, the color is light purple with patches of magenta red on it, and the texture of it looks scaly in some areas, and stone-like in others." She said looking over at the egg next to her.
"Oh, that's not a normal egg, have you told your old friend Wu about this? Maybe he knows what kind of creature it is from the egg." Lou said
"No, not yet, but I'll call him after this,"
"Ok then, oh shoot! My performance with the other Royal Blacksmiths is starting in 3 mins. I'll talk to you later Lily, love you!" Said Lou
"Love you too honey." Lily said and hung up.
She looked over at her son. He was looking at the strange egg, awe and curiosity on his face. She thought of any creatures that lay eggs, then her son said out loud.
"I wonder if this egg has a dragon in it" he said
"I don't know Cole, maybe it is a dragon egg, but we'll find out later or in a few days. Let me call a friend of mine and have him come check this egg out."
Lily rubbed Cole's head in a lovely manner and went back over to the phone, dial the number, and waited. Then the person on the other end picks up the phone.
"Hello, this is Wu speaking." Said Wu
"Hello Wu, this is Lily Brookstone speaking,"
"Ah... hello Lily, how's your child doing?" Said Wu
"He's doing fine, but I need your assistance with something."
"Oh? What do you need my assistance with?" Wu said
"Well..."
—8 Mins Later—-
"So, you and your son found a mysterious egg not that far from your home." said Wu
"Yes, I was wondering if you can and look at it."
"Ok then, I'll come over and look at it. I'll see you in a few days." Wu said and hung up. Lily put the phone down and looked over at the egg again.
"I hoped whatever is in that egg won't be too dangerous," She thought
—4 Days Later—
It took 2 days for Lou to return from Ninjago City. Then another 2 days before Wu arrived at their house. Opening the door Lily sees her friend and mentor standing. Wearing a white Kimono with gold stitching, lettering of the Ninjago Language on the torso and leggings, and a straw hat on his head. His face has a few wrinkles, and a short beard.
"Hello Lily, Lou, thank you for allowing entry to your home."
"Of course Wu, you're a friend to me and my family. You're welcome to come here whenever you want." Said Lily
"Thank you Lily, now... can I see this egg that you and your son found?" Said Wu
"Of Course" said Lily. She went over to a table with a heat lamp, keeping the egg warm from getting cold. Wu watched as Lily brought it over to the dining table. The egg looks so beautiful with the light purple with those patches of magenta red.
"This egg looks like a dragon egg, but I never seen an egg of this color before" Wu thought and noticed a piece of a scroll on one side of the egg, camouflaging very well with the egg.
"Well, what type of creature is in this egg Wu?" Said Lily
"Well, this egg is a dragon's egg, but not of any type here from Ninjago." Wu said
"Really? What type of dragon is it? Is it a western dragon from North America, a wyvern from Europe, or an eastern dragon from China or Japan?" Lily said
"No, I know what the eggs of those dragons looked like, and none of them don't have this color pattern." Wu said
"Oh... so, it is a dragon's egg, but what kind is it, we still don't know." Lily said
"But... there's a scroll on this side of the egg." Wu said
"Wait... there was a scroll on the egg, we didn't see that." Said Lou
"Yes, but it seems like the scroll is ripped 1/4 at the bottom, but most of what this type of dragon is on here and how it got here as well." Said Wu. He put the scroll on the table and the three of them read it.
Hello to whoever finds this scroll. I hope that whoever finds my egg takes great care of him. I'll miss taking care of him, but where I'm at is very difficult and unsafe to take care of a young hatchling. My mate agrees as well for our hatchling's safety even though he's very powerful to do so, but we're taking no risks on this. The reason for this is what type of dragon our hatchling is, what we called "The Purple Dragon".
What this dragon type is unique about is that they can control the four elements: Fire, Ice, Electricity, and Earth. But they can learn more elements as well if they want. A purple dragon only hatches every ten generations of dragons (me being the current Purple Dragon) but our hatchling was confirmed to be a purple dragon a few years earlier. While a Purple Dragon is a protector to the world, sadly they can also be corrupted to the darkness. There's been only one Purple Dragon that fell into it. Malefor was a powerful dragon, but with the darkness aiding him with malicious deeds he became a warlord. Fortunately he was sealed but wasn't dead. When he heard of a prophecy of another Purple Dragon that will destroy him completely he commanded his army to go find it and destroy it.
He did other things when I was hatched. Killing citizens, destroying landscapes, and even using my mate as his minion. She was scoffed at, ridiculed, shoved, and threatened because of her background. But me and my foster brother help and support her (mostly me, my brother has some issues from her possession but got over them). Now me and my mate are in another realm of our own, because of the final battle against Malefor. But now another is brewing and we need to focus on this one to stay alive and losing our only egg would devastate my mate. She'll be in despair and I don't want to lose her too.
Now we hope he'll be in safe hands and pray to the Ancestors to guide him through any trials or challenges . I also leave my jewelry I had when I was controlled by Malefor. It will be in a location our hatchling will stumble upon when he's older. As for a name? You can name him as you pleased but my mate wants to give the middle name Ignitus after the father-figure he looked up to and to honor his sacrifice. Now as for who my mate and I are, my name is—
What was the next words said was cut off as the bottom of to the scroll was ripped and Wu looked up
"This is what the scroll saids, but the last parts of it are gone. Because of that, we won't know who the hatchling's parents are."
"Oh, so what do we do now Wu?" Lily said
"Well, since you were the one who found him. I think you should take care of the young dragon within the egg." Said Wu
"Whoa... are you sure Wu?" Lily said
"Definitely, especially if your son wants a younger sibling to play." Wu said, chuckling.
"WU! Stop it will you, you old fool" said Lily, in mock anger
"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. Well, I'll be heading back to my father's monastery now. I'll see you two later, and also congrats for having another child into the family." Wu said, and headed out the front door, walking Northeast to the mountains. Lily watch him walking into the distance and then thought of what Wu said
"He's right about this. It would be a good idea to take care of a dragon as our child. it's what it saids in the scroll. It also means that Cole can have a younger brother to play with, though they are different species. But we'll figure that one out along the way."
Then her son came in and he saw the egg on the table.
"Mommy, why's the egg still there?" He said, confused
"Well, here's this. We decided to take the egg in and raise it. Cole, meet your new brother." Said Lily
"OH YESSS, I GET TO HAVE A DRAGON AS A BROTHER, WHOOOOO HOOOOO!" Cole yell excitedly as he jumped around the room.
"Ok son, settle down. We don't want to damage the egg now, don't we?" Said Lou
Lily put her adopted son back under the heat lamp. Then the family had dinner, watched a movie together, and went to bed, dreams filled with the future of their new family member.
—2 Months Later—
Lily was cleaning the house up, just trying to keep everything neat and tidy. Sweeping the floor in the kitchen and dining room, vacuum the living room, master bedroom, son's room, and the 3 spare bedrooms, clean the bathroom, dust off the tables, clean the kitchen counter and stove off, wash dishes, and clean the windows and glass.
She soon got to the last item to clean. The table that her adopted son was on. He still hasn't hatched yet, and she knows that worrying won't do anything at the moment. She moved him out under the heat lamp and began dusting off the table. A few seconds later she heard a cracking noise. Looking around for the noise and finding nothing "Must be a tree branch or something" and continue dusting. Then she heard the cracking noise again. Lily decided to stop and check where the noise was coming from. Turning around, she was shocked to see that her son was hatching.
"Oh my goodness! Lou! Come here!"
"What is it?" Lou call out
"Our son is hatchling!" She shouted again
"Really!? Come on son! Your younger brother is hatching!" Lou said excited
They all sat around the table where the egg sat. The egg shook and rocked, bits of egg were coming off, and little squeaks emitted from the little dragon within. Then 15 seconds later the dragon finally broke the remaining eggshell on top. Sitting in the bottom of the egg, his eyes closed and squealed loudly as his body met the open air.
But the dragon was adorable; having bright purple scales with a magenta red underbelly. Has a set of 6 stubby horns, 4 curving upwards from his head, and the last two horns on his cheeks. His wings were bat-like with little scythe-blades on his wingtips. Then Lily notices something that will cause a hazard in the house. On the tip of his tail was a blade in the shape of a scythe. She knew a cover sleeve would be needed just so the hatchling doesn't harm himself. His horns, wing tips, and tail blade are orangey-gold. Then his eyes opened up, seeing the color in them was green, which looked very pretty with his body. He then squeaks and looks around, looking at everything, then notices Lily and tries to walk to her, but falls down onto his belly.
"Oh come on sweetie, you can do it!" Lily said, trying to encourage him to keep trying. He tried again and again and again until he finally was able to walk to her.
"Good job sweetie! I know you can do it!" Lily said, and gave him a hug.
"Ma..ma" he said
"Oh my goodness! Lou! He said his first word! Oh this is such an amazing day for us!" Lily said happily
"Well, this is good news Lily. He looks so cute as well." Lou said
"I know! First, a name for our new son, then second, a cover sleeve for the tip of his tail."
"What do you mean honey?" Said Lou, confused but Lily brought up her son's tail blade. Lou's eyes widened in shock and nodded, knowing what Lily meant.
"I see what you mean, but another question is, you know that my parents are religious?" Lou said
"Yes, why are you bringing this up?... OH, never mind, I know why. If they see our son like this." Lily said in realization
"They'll try to take him and abandon him in the wilderness by himself." Said Lou
"Oh Lou!? I don't want to give him up. What are we supposed to do?!" Lily said with fear, but then noticed a glow appear. Looking down, she watched in amazement as the hatchling was shifting. After a few seconds, instead of a dragon in her arms was a human baby, his body has some similarities between her and Lou, except for his eyes. Then he glows again, and is back in his draconian form.
"Oh my! Lou, did you see what he did?" Lily said, shocked
"Yeah, I saw it too, he must have some ability to shift into a different form. Possibly to blend in easily with other people." Said Lou
"Makes sense, now, what should we name him? Hmmm..." Lily said and thought of any male names. But it seems like her son gave the name to them. He then spew out a few cinders of sparks. That gave her the idea of a name.
"Ah ha! How about Cinder?"
"Cinder... that sounds like a perfect name for him. What should his middle name be" said Lou
"The scroll said his biological parents wanted his middle name to be Ignitus." Lily said
"Ok then, that's an interesting middle name. But it works." Lou said
Lily looked down at her son and said "Well then sweetie. Welcome to the world Cinder Ignitus Brookstone!"
The family then did some stuff together as a family with Cole and Cinder looking at each other, then Cinder rubbed his head on Cole's face. Making him giggle and hugging his little brother. Lily and Lou both smiled at this. A few neighbors came over and asked what happened and got an explanation. They congratulated them to the new addition and continued on with their day. A few hours later, they have dinner (Cinder having milk as he was a baby), then Lily giving Cinder a warm bath, which he loves with happy squeaks. After that Lily took Cinder to the baby crib that her husband brought out to use in their bedroom.
Putting Cinder in the crib and lay a blanket over him, and gave him a kiss. Cinder purred in content and Lily smiled. He was so cute especially with the purring, sounding like a cat.
"Goodnight my little Cinder, sweet dreams." Lily said, and watched as he fell asleep. She changed into pajamas and got into bed herself, a few mins later Lou got into bed as well.
"Well honey, this day has been exciting." He sayd
"Yeah, it was, I hope for our future that our new son will be a humbled and noble dragon." Lily said
"Yeah, I'm hopeful that he'll... yawn…
found his heritage of his... snort... biological parents" Lou said as he fell asleep.
"Yeah, me... too, me... too, love you Honey." Lily said sleepily, and went into dreamland. Not realizing what will happen to her new child.
—-Unknown Location, Dragon Realms—
"Well, looks like my two pupils have a child. He'll be following his parents footsteps. It will be interesting to see how he'll do in his destiny. I am also honored that the humans used my name as his middle name, a respectful honor." Ignitus said
The former Guardian of Fire, now the current Chronicler, looked on at the family that was taking care of his pupil's hatchling. The bluish-silver dragon looked at all the books and scrolls around him, then at the huge hour-glass in the middle. Being able to see into the future is a very important duty to behold, but also a dangerous responsibility at the same time. He then looks at the image of the young dragon sleeping.
"Sleep dreams, young Cinder, and make the ancestors guide you to your destiny."Said Ignitus, as he went over to lay down and sleep.
