Frost POV

Today's morning was the same as ever, freshen up, eat breakfast and go to school. Today we were doing the 'real training' Luxray talked about yesterday. We're going to be partnered with another team and fight in one on one battles, seems a tiny bit much for only the seventh day. Luxray took us to a small arena beside the school.

"I will now pick your partnered teams. Frost and Jolt, your teams will be partners." The Pichu walked over with his teammates. Pichu spoke first.

"Hi, I'm Jolt! Nice to meet you partners!" Well he's upbeat.

"Yeah. I'm Frost." I replied.

"These are my teammates! The Scorbunny is Taki, the Oddish is Lila and the Espurr is Psych!" He introduced the rest of his team, we did the same after. Then Luxray told us who would fight who, he said to think of it as a small tournament. The first match was me against Taki. Yay... type disadvantage...

"I'll try not to hurt you too bad." Taki is a cocky little piece of- calm down Damnit! The fight hasn't even started yet, I still think she's way too cocky for her own good.

"Sure you will." I said through gritted teeth as we walked onto the field.

"Remember, nothing serious, this is only combat training." Luxray reminded us. Taki ran over as soon as she could and tried using Blaze Kick, I dodged with Agility and hit her with Slash. She hopped backwards.

"You're fast, but just being fast isn't going to win anything." Seriously? She's trying real hard to look tough.

"Just get on with it." She shot towards me with Flame Charge. I sidestepped and tripped her.

"Hey! Stop dodging!" I slapped her upside the head with Metal Claw. She got up, pissed off.

"Are you making fun of me?!"

"Yeah, sure." I stepped backwards, just in case. She used Agility to get behind me and used Overheat immediately after.

"Well, this was a good match." Taki said with a smirk on her face.

"I guess it was." She whipped around only to get a Mega Punch to the face.

"We're done, right?" Luxray nodded when I looked over to him.

"Yes, I would say that was a fine match. Although Taki might have overdone it a bit with Overheat..."

"Good thing it didn't hit then." I said as I picked Taki up and brought her over to her team, I walked back to my team after. Luxray announced the next match up. Cream and Lila. They walked onto the field.

Cream POV

I've never fought anyone before. I don't know if I can win, but I'll give it my best shot!

"You may begin when both of you are ready." I nodded.

"I'm ready." Lila nodded too.

"I'm good too." I started by using Calm Mind to increase my special attack. I just barely dodged the Razor Leaves shot at me. Unfortunately, Lila shot an Energy Balls right after the Razor Leaves. I shook my head and stood up, Lila was waiting for my next move.

"What should I do? Psychic or Tri Attack? I'll just do both." I used Psychic to lift Lila off the ground and slam her back down. I shot my Tri Attack while she was still on the ground. she got knocked out.

"Do I win?" Luxray nodded his head and walked over to Lila. I ran over to help.

Rush POV

Creams fight was short, but that's okay! I was up next, against Jolt. We looked at each other. He spoke first.

"Let's have a good fight!"

"Don't go easy on me!" I said back. We quickly ran onto the field. We ran at each other as soon as we could. He used Thunder Punch and I used Force Palm, we clashed and stayed like that until I used Quick Attack and sent him back. He threw a Thunderbolt which I countered with Focus Blast, but he ran at me immediately after and hit me with Iron Tail. I landed and dodged Swift which he fired right as I landed. I ran towards him but was hit in the back by Swift, I forgot the whole 'never misses' part. Jolt used Nuzzle and I was paralyzed. He won... but I'm not disappointed!

"That was fun, Rush." We shook hands, well, he shook my hand.

"Maybe we could have a rematch sometime." He suggested. I slowly nodded and we walked back over... after Luxray cured my paralysis. Frost looked at me confused.

"I thought you didn't know how to fight."

"I train a lot back home."

Doll POV

Looks like it's my turn, best for last or something like that. I was up against the Espurr, Psych. We walked onto the field.

"I don't expect to lose to you." I said to him. His response was... interesting to say the least.

"It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it matters that you will not die. On real missions there is a possibility of death, you must be capable of realizing that if you want to rescue Pokémon." What. The. Fuck. This is the weirdest Pokémon I've met, he sounds like an emo too. I'm finishing this quickly, I don't want to spend time around this guy for long. I threw a Gunk Shot at him. He didn't even try to avoid it, but it didn't even hit him! It was thrown into the ground. Probably him using Psychic. I flew over and used Shadow Claw, he just stood in place and lifted his arm and shot me square in the face with Thunderbolt. I used Metronome after I landed, what I got was Boomburst! The field was cracked and everyone got pushed back. Psych flinched and I got as close to him as I could and used Throat Chop. He fell and I tried using Shadow Ball, but it got blasted back towards me. Psych got back onto his feet and lifted me with Psychic. I was thrown off the field and he walked back to his team.

"...ow..."

Frost POV

Holy shit... Psych is definitely no pushover. That was the most intense fight out of the four. The other teams went and most of Judos team lost, except Shine. The day was over by the time we all finished and we headed home. Doll and Rush split off for their homes. I flopped down on the couch once we got home. Psych... what's his problem?
