Short 1 - Heir of War

Zoë Nightshade, despite looking fourteen years old, had lived a long life of over 2000 years alongside her fellow Hunters of Artemis. Having lived since the time of ancient Greece, she had seen the world change to the modern era in the year 2007. She had seen civilizations fall, countless life and death, and so much more. Yet, despite all of that, the strangest thing she had ever seen is a boy named Leifr and his reanimated talking head called "Puck."

Despite calling him a boy, he looked to be her age, fifteen if she had to guess. He has pale skin and was rather muscular for his age. He has short black hair tied into a small braided ponytail, with the sides of his head shaved. His light brown eyes are filled with a type of innocence she hasn't seen in a long time, yet also are hardened by many battles. When she first met him, he was wearing armor made from leather and fur, but was currently wearing an orange Camp Half-Blood shirt, a pair of black pants with a leather skirt, and a pair of black boots.

She first met him alongside Percy Jackson at his friends in Maine, where she and her fellow Hunters found him battling the Manticore. Unlike Thalia, Annabeth, and Percy himself, Leifr had nearly killed the monster when the Hunters arrived. There she saw him, wielding a sword with more skill than Zoë had seen in a long time from someone outside of the Hunters. Unfortunately, the Manticore had escaped by jumping off of a cliff, bringing Annabeth along as she had jumped onto its back during its battle with Leifr.

After it disappeared, she was shocked to see Percy aim his blade at Leifr, as she had thought the two were allies. Before things could escalate further, Puck had managed to calm the two down enough for Artemis to order her Hunters to set up camp for the night. That caused the talking head to say that they had business elsewhere and told the boy to leave, but Artemis had forced the boy to stay.

She hadn't had any prolonged contact with him until they got to Camp Half-Blood. There Zoë witnessed the Ares Cabin acting more aggressive than usual upon the sight of Leifr, as if hating him was engraved into their very being. Now that she thought about it, Thalia seemed to have fear hidden in her eyes whenever she looked at him…

During the game of Capture the Flag, she had clashed against him for the first time. Despite her experience, he held his own and nearly bested her. He even matched her skill with a bow of his own, one beautifully crafted from a wood she had never seen before. When she ran out of arrows and was forced to fight with her hunting knives, he fought against her with a sword and retractable shield. It was only when Percy Jackson arrived with their flag and won a victory for Camp Half-Blood did they stop fighting.

It was there she grew to hate, and respect, Leifr.

After receiving a prophecy from the Oracle, Zoë had gathered a team to rescue her goddess. Unfortunately, her fellow hunter Phoebe was poisoned with a shirt dipped in Centaur Poison, causing her to stay behind. It was there that Grover suggested bringing Leifr, as his combat skill was better than most campers. Despite her grudge against him, and the fact she considered the talking head as a member of the quest party, Zoë agreed just so she can rescue her goddess.

When they had arrived at the National Air and Space Museum and were met with Percy Jackson, Zoë was livid. She berated the son of Poseidon, but it was only when he mentioned someone called "The General" did Zoë realize what they were dealing with. When Leifr asked who the general was, she didn't respond, but the head answered for her, stating that title was held by the Titan Atlas. Before anything else could happen, they were attacked by the Nemean Lion.

Zoë and Bianca's arrows were no use, and Percy and Thalia were hesitant to fight such a monster. It was Leifr who took charge, fighting the beast on his own. Upon realizing his strikes did nothing, the boy uttered a word in a language Zoë wasn't familiar with, but was shocked to see massive roots erupting from the ground and bound the Nemean Lion. With a swift thrust of his sword, Leifr slayed the lion.

It was there that Zoë realized two things. One, Leifr had been the first demigod since… Hercules, to kill the Nemean Lion, and two, he had held back during their battle at Camp Half-Blood.

When they encountered Ares and Aphrodite in New Mexico, the God of War was immediately hostile towards Leifr, something even he didn't know why. It didn't help that Puck was throwing insults at the god. The situation escalated when Ares and Leifr ended up having a short battle. Much to everyone's shock, Leifr's strength was enough to match Ares'. Upon Aphrodite's order, Ares stopped the fight, but not before leaving a scar over the demigod's right eye.

It was then Zoë began to question who was Leifr's godly parent. And much to her anger, only one god came to mind when it came to the feats performed by him. Defeating the Nemean Lion and battling Ares, those were feats performed by Hercules.

Upon arriving at the Junkyard of the God, did Bianca accidentally cause Talos (albeit a defective prototype) to awaken. Even with the automaton being the size of a skyscraper, Leifr defeated it. He summoned a massive amount of tree roots to trip Talos, and used those same roots to tear its limbs off.

When the manticore arrived to kill them before they could reach Mount Othrys, it was once again Leifr who battled against the monster. He then killed it by tying it down with magical roots, cutting off its scorpion tail and bisecting it with his sword.

When Zoë reunited with Landon, her former friend tried to strike her down, if not for Leifr. The demigod was able to bound all one hundred of its heads in the very branches of the tree it guarded, much to the shock of Zoë and her former sisters. Leifr quickly took her hand and ran back to the others, and reassured her his spell would end after they rescued Artemis.

During their confrontation with Atlas, Zoë was shocked to see Leifr go blow for blow against her father. She couldn't fathom the level of power this demigod held. It wasn't until Atlas had wiped off a mark hidden of Leifr's neck did she sense it. His power, his aura.

Leifr wasn't a demigod like she had thought. No. He was a god.

Atlas laughed at the unknown god, and offered him a place among his army, only for Leifr to refuse. Their battle then resumed, with an exhausted Artemis joining the fray, Percy having taken her place in holding up the sky so she could fight. When Zoë was injured by Atlas, who was planning on striking down Artemis, something snapped within Leifr.

With a shout filled with nothing but rage, his fists caught on fire, his muscles and veins became more prominent, and his eyes emit a yellowish glow. Most noticeably,a glowing red tattoo formed on his body, going down the majority of his upper body and up to his face over his left eye. Seeing this caused Atlas and even Artemis to take a step back in shock and fear. Zoë herself felt like she had seen that mark before, but her head became fuzzy when thinking about it.

The battle between Leifr and Atlas continued, only the tides had changed. The young god had managed to match and even surpass the Titan. Even when this rage had subsided, and the tattoo disappeared, they were evenly matched. The two had clashed in a struggle that nearly split the mountain in two. After managing to force Atlas under the sky once again, the battle ended.

The last thing Atlas said was, "You are the son… of the Spartan." Something that caused Artemis' blood freeze, and something that confused the demigod's, Hunters, and even Leifr himself. Only Puck had understood what the Titan had said.

Seeing Zoë injured, Leifr immediately rushed to her side and managed to heal her with his magic. At this moment, did Zoë realize that this young god had broken fate throughout this quest. On Artemis' chariot, the goddess was wary of the young god, but didn't question him.

When they arrived on Mount Olympus, the Olympains were wary of the young god. After the gods allowed Percy to live, and with Thalia joining the hunters, did Artemis announce something to her fellow Olympains.

"Father, this… god. He is no mere god, he is the son… the son of the Ghost."

After her goddess said that, Leifr was blasted by lightning from Zeus' Master Bolt, and his arms bound by Hephaestus' golden chains, stripped of his weapons. Zoë had quickly grabbed his bow and Puck, his sword having been broken by Atlas earlier, and questioned her goddess what was going on. Artemis remained silent as the rest of the Olympians stood before the bound Leifr, questioning what to do with him.

Some had said to simply kill him, others said to keep him prisoner unless they wanted to unleash the wrath of his father. Percy and the others began shouting at the gods to let him go, and questioned why they were doing this to their friend.

"It's because they're afraid of his father. The man who destroyed Greece and brought the gods to their knees and slayed them: Kratos." Was Puck's reply.

As if a curse was lifted off of her, did a flood of memories return to Zoë. Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, son of Zeus and former God of War. The monster created by the gods who destroyed not only the gods of Olympus, but the Titans and ancient Greece as well.

When Ares ran Leifr through with his sword, Zoë, Puck, and the others were horrified. It was only when the God of War whispered something into the wounded god's ear, did his rage hit his peak. His wound healed, and he broke free from his chains and attacked Ares. Their clash shook the room, and it was clear they would have destroyed the thrones of the Olympians if they had continued. Luckily, Zeus interfered and relentlessly hit Leifr with lightning.

Just as it seemed like Leifr was going to be killed by the Olympians, with the severed head pleading for them to stop, a giant tear formed within the room. Before the gods could do anything else, a massive wolf tore its way into the area. It swiped at Zeus and tore Ares' arm off. The beast stood before Leifr, protecting the young god.

Artemis and Apollo readied their bows to shoot the beast, but their hands were suddenly impaled by arrows. From the tear, a lean yet muscular man emerged, aiming a bow at the Olympians. Soon after, armored women with wings followed him, standing by his side, ready to fight the gods.

Zoë suddenly found herself running to Leifr, even though she didn't know why. She helped the young god onto his own two feet, and even supported him when it was clear he couldn't stand on his own.

From the rift, a large hammer flew into the throne room and into Poseidon's face. In flew in a giant orange haired woman, who recalled the hammer and stood next to the archer and winged women. She was followed by a beautiful brown haired woman, who instead of confronting the Olympians, ran straight for Leifr.

"Leifr! My boy! Mimir! How could you let this happen?! How could you let him get anywhere near the greeks?!"

"Apologies, milady, but we couldn't escape them after meeting them. Even then, the lad wanted to help his friends."

Zeus, very much done with his grandson and new enemies, readied his Master Bolt to strike them all down. Only for a bald ashen skin man to run into the throne room and clash his axe against his Master Bolt. The result was a frozen lightning bolt in the center of the throne room.

"Kratos…" Muttered the King of the Gods.

"Zeus. Your son has returned." Kratos spoke, his voice calm yet full of controlled anger.

BOOM! Done! Let me tell you something, I had this planned for years. Growing up, I'd read Percy Jackson all the time in middle school. And after playing God of War, I thought I'd do a crossover between the two. It was ultimately scrapped for my story "Legacy of War". So just to get it out of my system, I thought I'd upload a quick short about it.

Let me make this clear, this isn't planned to be an actual story, it's only a short to give people an idea on a premise for this crossover I once had. But hey, if people are eager to see this, I could work a full story into my schedule. This is a rough outline of what I had planned, so if this does become a full story, expect to see more.

As for anyone wondering why Mimir was called "Puck" so much, that was an alias he came up with (though not really considering that's his real name) just so the Greeks wouldn't know who he is. Why didn't he come up with one for Leifr? Well it's the modern day, a name like that isn't really out of the ordinary.
