The arrival of the Britannian Atlantic Navy upon the African Coast should have facilitated the affairs against this upstartish USA.
The military had issued some Marines for the task. Fresh recruits that yearned for a baptism by fire. All the machines were well-oiled, the guns prepped to never jam through their first contact.
There had been some preparatory speeches. A chance to raise the morale to the highest point before the glorious beginning of the campaign for a new wide continent for Britannia to claim its hegemony of.
The finest battleships and Knightmares had been deployed just as a display of strength against this new target but...
It was a lovely night before rockets rained upon them.
For a moment, the officers rallied over the notion that the hostile fleet, a smaller and weaker force, had struck through the shadows. A slimy trick, and one worthy of retribution.
What most failed to realize was that the darkness offered by the clouds hiding the moon held more than ships.
Large bipedal monsters of iron and steel roared contently as they ravaged through the equipment dispatched by Britannia.
Everything was thrown at those monsters, unusual constructs that haunted the lives of those noble officers that had thought this to be a fine day to make their first deed in their lengthy military history.
The commanding officer, one Marcus Shetland, Lord Norfolk, was shaken beyond belief in his reports.
He lauded the braveness of his troops, but claimed sabotage over the estimations - how did the Secret Service fail to notice the savages had their own Knightmares?!
The negative reports soon stacked back home, and the resulting headache from those caused the Head of the Navy to resign.
The news thus picked up steam in less than a few hours after the battle was over. The people had been horrified by what had turned a walk in the park into an unexpected massacre of the highest order.
The large task force, assembled with some of the finest battleships and carriers, had been decimated by unknown vehicles that resembled knightmares.
The Emperor himself was heard having a rant on how much livid he was over this massive failure and... Schneizel el Britannia was said to have aimed his gaze upon Africa.
The one 'flimsy' rebellion against Britannian Order was now no longer as pathetic as it was presented - it was a menace. And it made the prince delighted for the challenge.
That being said, many questions remained unanswered in regard to the USA's current combat capacity, and its economy.
Both mattered much in the extent of the war and, while some idiots advanced the same crap that they were weak and they got lucky, Schneizel knew that there was more to it.
And he knew that any direct infiltration was not going to give him those answers- no, he needed to look around and find out who was really a friend of the USA.
From there, then he would learn the secrets of this Big Boss, if not more.

A first victory, and a serious one.
The general population rejoiced as the many doubts casted by pacifists was thrown away by the jubilation of winning against the biggest bully on the planet.
Orderly parades ensued in the major urban cities, with me issuing a speech praising the dedication, precision and the hard work of engineers, soldiers, and officers.
"But remember, this is not a victory just for me or for you - this is a win for freedom. Their tyranny shan't get to us, never!"
The most recent policies enforced allowed to defeat the need for rationing or for extreme conscription - the military could have been bigger, but the quality was already enough for the sole enemy they were facing.
Their main goals were the Americas, but also the Pacific holdings.
As the first Atlantic battle came to an end, the invasion force aimed for the Philippines made first contact with the local garrisons. One of the biggest advantages I had prepared for was the institution of the so-called 'government-in-exiles'.
The 'Manilan Force of Revolution' had been one of the most active ones, cheering upon the first steps to deliver a new independent republic led by Filipinos.
Not even a week after the Atlantic Skirmish that Manila fell to our armies and the MFR was given permission to make it across.
The radio was buzzing excitedly as provisional president Nesto Luna delivered a rousing speech that caused rebellions all over the islands. The war had just started there, but the Britannian presence was not enough to hold beyond a single month.
There were some angry buzzing by the Chinese, but they lacked the military means to enter this war, nor they wanted to ally with Britannia to deal with this, thus leaving the Philippines unbothered by their own fleets and armored vehicles.
With that major development unfolding, it was also true that Britannia wasn't exactly our only enemy on a diplomatic standpoint.
Europia was struggling.
The mass-migration had impacted their war effort and, where once there was a sense of optimism despite the lack of major wins, the intense pushes in Russia seeing the Urals finally breached and Spain finally fully occupied by Britannian forces had led to some leadership struggles.
The military tried to exert itself as the safety beacon, but politicians had all rallied into the hands of a National Government led by a coalition of all parties.
The demands for restitution had all but vanished, same for the threat.
The seas between Europia and the USA were 'odd locations' where ships navigated, a tense air persisting over the possibility of accidents triggering a war. We could stomach it at this point, but I doubt Europia had the guts and the balls to pull that sort of stunt.
With technology advancing to a point that it was well above all major super-powers, it was fair to say that we were on top of the world...
And it was high time for freedom to knock some harder onto those dumb skulls of theirs!

It's been... more than a year. I hope that this is enough. Prolly a lemon next time, so keep believing.
