Chapter 58

Part 1 - 03/26/2025

Vehicles were beeping. Tires were squealing. Shouting could be heard. Noises were everywhere including thousands of feet above every time an airplane flew by. There weren't much difference after the sunset. But once inside, a different kind of feeling appeared. There was fear, not fear of getting caught but fear of what she will find. There are cameras but also many blind spots. If anyone asks, she's prepared to give them an excuse to explain why she's trespassing. Each hallway she passed without interruption gave her more confidence. Each door she opened is one step closer to finding the truth. The smell of success is near, she realized after the god awful stench became stronger. The surgical mask didn't help. A hazmat suit and helmet would. That's what those behind the steel double doors were wearing. The only way to stop them from driving off with the evidence is pull the gun out and:

"Freeze! Madahfugaas!"

(gasp) The gasp spontaneously came out. "You did not say that." Amy is not sure if Max heard. Max used to curse a lot but never has she heard her using that word. It's usually scumbag and dirtbag.

"I was going to. Glad I didn't. It would've been embarrassing."

"What? So there weren't dead bodies? Then what's the stench?"

"I'm getting there…"

The brows furrowed for a moment. A smile spontaneously followed after memories of the days when she was still a D.E.B suddenly appeared. Max always hated interruptions especially when she's going over the plans of a mission that she's in charge of. If Janet heard, she too would be reminded of the numerous times when she got yelled at for interrupting. How long has it been? Amy can't remember when was the last time she talked to Max. The last time she heard was about Max's condition.

Max woke up but she can't remember. She will never be the same but she will be okay. It's not safe to have any type of contact right now.

The message from Danika was brief but it was enough to lessen her worry. Now hearing from Max herself, she can't help but wonder if there is still something wrong. Max's voice sounds different. Not only that, the old Max would never talk about an incident with this much detail even when she's planning a rescue mission. Cursing when the outcome of a plan didn't go as expected is normal behavior for Max. But making fun of a serious situation? Never. Janet sometimes did that but not Max. The god awful stench gave her a bad case of farting for days is not funny. It would be if it didn't turn to an infection that almost killed her. "Max"

"wait, I know you have a lot of questions but just let me finish. Okay?"

It may have been a question at the end but Max wasn't waiting for an approval just like the old Max used to be. But unlike the old Max who always blames others' for their mistakes, she's blaming herself. It is stupid of her not to tell anyone what she was doing but there was insufficient evidence and the source came from a troubled teen so anyone would've done the same. It might not be reliable but the fact that he willingly admitted to have heard it from the doctor who was talking on the phone before he and his gangster friends burglarized his home is worth looking into. Even if she didn't know that freezer trucks were being used to store cadavers, it wasn't stupid. Body parts trafficking is not unheard of. Anyone could've make that mistake. She did because she's not from New York so she didn't know morgues and hospitals had no more room. She did because she thought that Mr. P's death had something to do with that since the troubled teen also said he told Mr. P about it after he got caught stealing from luxury retail stores. She did because she knows the troubled teen when she worked as a councilor years ago so she didn't think he would be lying to her. These are good reasons. Anyone who has gone thru what she did would be blaming the ahole (Mr. P's boss) so why is she blaming herself? What happened to Will wasn't entirely her fault either. What Lucy did is definitely not her fault. So…"Stop it. Everything that happened would have happened even if I didn't go looking for you. None of this is your fault." Amy interrupted again since she can feel what is about to come next. An apology but that didn't happen. An explanation to defend Lucy did. It wasn't Lucy's idea. It wasn't Anthony's either. It was hers?

"Harlow?...You hear me?...Harlowww?"

Max hasn't changed in this aspect. Still impatient. It was a only a few seconds of silence. Yet she's waiting for a response. "I heard you." Not loud but clear. The details given just caught her by surprise since Max had said a moment ago that she was going to quit after Mr. P passed but was persuaded by the ahole to take a leave of absence to think about it. That's when she heard about the possible body parts trafficking from the troubled teen. Her whole life changed after that. So to hear that she is still as active as the same old Max despite having one kidney and the gall bladder removed due to the infection is a bit shocking. Staying at home doing nothing must have been boring. But what happened to wanting to live a normal life? Isn't that why she wanted to quit? Amy regretted asking after getting another longer explanation that got her thinking for hours after the call ended. Falling asleep became difficult. She only realized how much it affected her after waking up screaming and sweating. This time, no one heard not even Faith who slept in Holly's old room to avoid Brie. But even if they did, they're not going to believe that it's just a dream. It was a nightmare, one that she never thought would be possible. But Max thinks it is.

"You okay?" Holly asked since a small bowl of oatmeal shouldn't take thirty minutes to eat especially when the one eating it is usually finished with eating, jogging and taking a shower by 9 AM. It's 11:00AM now.

"Did you know about this?" Amy extended the phone to show Holly what she was looking at. It's one of many websites that she looked into after ending the call with Max last night. Holly never said she still has contact with Hans but she gave everyone the impression that she is close to her since she once said Hans was the only one who knew she was going to propose to Nadia since she needed Hans to sing their love song and put the fireworks on in the O2 arena. So how could she not know about this? Amy changed the website to another on the phone. This one has a clickbait headline and just like the others, there are many negative posts about Hans. Some wanted her to be executed for treason. Some wanted her to be imprisoned when all she did was made a comment about equality and women should have rights to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions. The headline on this article captured a lot of attention since it called her a murderer for killing her unborn child. There is no proof, yet the article was written to let others think that she had an abortion which is now illegal in many states. There is another where posters mentioned the heist that took place years ago where she was taken hostage. Yet, the posters accused her of being the mastermind behind it to boost her popularity. Some accused her of working with the terrorists. Others said she's a spy. It was ridiculous. Her devoted fans won't believe it. But others will. The old and the uneducated will because their minds are incapable of critical thinking. The homophobes, the racists and the anti-feminists will, no matter how crazy the conspiracy theories are, because they don't believe in equality for all. The greedy will not but they will continue to spread lies for their own benefit. Some are paid to do so. Others, like the outdated celebrities and the fame seekers, do it because it's the quickest way to get on the news, the quickest way to become relevant again, hence more job opportunities, more money. Then there are those who want money and power. They do it because Hans has millions of followers. As a fan, Holly must know about this even if this is old news.

"So?"

"So you knew where they went." Amy asked in the form of a statement even though Max never mentioned Holly.

"I wasn't sure."

"You should've told me."

"What good would that do? You were having nightmares."

"Dreams not nightmares."

"Did you have the same dream again?"

What? She heard?

"Look, I think the best thing for you is do something that makes you happy. Go see Zander. I'm sure he'd love to see you too."

Why is she treating me like a patient? Staying away from the news is to protect the mental health. Holly's suggestion now seems like a very bad idea. Amy got up to leave since she doesn't want any more advice and getting upset won't help.

"Where're you going?"

Not going to see Zander. Amy thought to herself as she continued towards the door, leaving the finished bowl of oatmeal on the table for Holly to wash which is wrong but Holly should know why.

"If you're going to see her, don't." Holly knew that her words would be ignored. "She's sick!" That got her attention. "She said not to tell you. Don't want you to worry. She thinks she got it from the hotel." Holly expected questions not a stare. That face 5 feet away still looks pissed. "Are you…feeling okay?"

"Why are you lying?"

"I'm not."

It didn't seem like it but she did say Don't. That's not a request. That's a command. Faith isn't here. Nadia isn't either. That's strange. What's even more strange is why Lucy and Will came back unexpectedly. Max said Hans is not in America. A specific location wasn't disclosed. Lucy didn't move back even though Anthony's place is up for sale. What better way to protect her than to keep her close. Lucy did it before. "She's there. Isn't she?"

"Who?"

Amy continued up the stairs and into the bedroom without responding since it would be a waste of time to get Holly to admit it. There's a faster way to find out. Go there to check. That's the plan. It's a very stupid one, she realized an hour later because Hans isn't there. Holly was telling the truth. Lucy is sick. Brie and Ethan are too. Nadia and Faith did go food shopping. It may have been a stupid plan but a few days of thinking and watching Anthony's residence from outside made her realize what several months of staying away from the news has done to her brain.

Ignorance is bliss. If you do not know about the problem, then you do not worry about it. That may be true. But being ignorant, she realized, also destroys brain cells. Then eventually, the brain will become so numb, it's unable to tell what is a fact, what is a lie, who is good, who is bad, and what their intentions are. If she had been keeping up with current events like Max and Olivia, she would've known where Lucy went. If she had not focused on Lucy so much, she would've found out how Brie showed up at Olivia's hotel that night. Only now did she realize that Brie didn't follow Will to the hotel and it wasn't a coincidence. It was planned by the one who has been hiding her true self from everyone.

"Admit it!" Amy said loudly without fear of being heard by anyone else since no one is nearby and the car windows are closed.

"calm down…geez"

She's not denying it? Then it must be true. "He was there to check up on Olivia because he doesn't trust her. There was no prostitute." She's not surprised or confused so she must have known. "That was cruel. You didn't have to do that. She hit him…many times." That must have hit a nerve. Now she looks offended.

"So?...Was I right about Olivia?"

Guess she's not offended. She's smiling. She won't be after this. "You lost." Just like she had thought, Olivia was only looking for a friend since she doesn't have many. It's not because she's not sociable. It's because the job as a data analyst kept her busy. But mainly it's because she's the type that doesn't trust people easily. No doubt, the incident with her pervert uncle changed her. "She's just looking for a friend."

"Give her a year."

Spoken like a sore loser. Never admit losing and provide no evidence to back it up, just an opinion and a very inappropriate suggestion. "Don't you dare." Amy said, knowing that's not going to stop Brooke from telling Olivia about Lucy.

"So you're going let her wait another year?...And you say I'm cruel?"

Spoken like a master manipulator. But she does have a point. Olivia moved out to go to college and never moved back after graduating. Avoiding the pervert can't be the reason since he doesn't live here. Data analyst jobs shouldn't be difficult to find here. Her interest in Hans does seem abnormal for just a fan. She did keep that secret for years. Is it possible? Could she be like Nadia?...hmm…wait…a…minute. "Why do I get the feeling you're using me again?" Brooke isn't smiling this time. She has that 'are you stupid?' expression.

"Are you afraid of losing? If you are, then bet's off. Okay? So just tell her."

Spoken like a liar and a narcissist. She's the one who wanted to make the bet. She's the one who agreed to stay away from Lucy and leave Brie alone if she lost. Now, she wants to back out? There is only one reason. "Why do I get the feeling you're afraid of losing?" She may have succeeded to get Brie to leave Will but she's not going to stay away from Lucy because Adalyn wouldn't. I must be right. She's laughing. Does she know how fake that sounds?

"What's wrong with you?"

Projection is a narcissistic trait. "Admit it." Amy didn't get a response since Brooke's phone just rang. There's no need to think that there's something wrong with Brooke because there is. Adalyn is checking up on her again and Brooke is apologizing for missing the messages. What's the big deal? Missing the messages can happen to anyone. It would be easy to come up with a lie. Brooke did but for some reason, she also told the truth. Why? Running into me is a good excuse. This is a supermarket. But there was no need to mention me or put me on the phone to say hi. "Why did you do that?"

"If you haven't noticed by now, she's not dumb. She could be nearby. Somewhere."

What? Amy took a look to the left, right and the back just like Brooke did but couldn't see Adalyn. Nothing strange stood out. People are walking to the supermarket. Some are pushing the carts back to their cars. There's this one guy sitting in the driver's seat alone, looking like he's waiting for someone which now looks familiar because Brooke was the same way 20 minutes ago and she's wearing a cap and sunglasses too. "Are you cheating on her?" Oh, she's definitely offended now. She has cheated before so even if it's not true, she can't blame anyone for thinking that. "She thinks you're cheating on her?" Does that sound better?

"She's just"

Just what? Brooke's phone is not ringing but there must be a message. It must be Adalyn again. That's a look of annoyance.

"Want to come over for lunch?"

"What?" Not what. The response should be "No" regardless of the reason.

"Come over or I'm going to tell Olivia."

"Is that a threat?" If it is, it's a very weak one.

"pleeease…I'm begging you."

That's more like it but still "No."

"What are you afraid of?"

There's the projection again. "no." Amy reached for the passenger door handle until her forearm is held onto and a confession is given which is surprising to hear since Brooke had said the last time they were in the process starting a family so now hearing that Brooke never had plans on marrying Adalyn, this adds to the list of things that she doesn't like about her.

"…Why do we need to have a marriage certificate? It's meaningless. Why do we need to tell anybody? That's just going to attract attention."

Brooke has always said don't do anything to attract attention. Getting married will. That's a good point but she needs to come up with a better reason than using me. This mind has woken up from being ignorant! "No."

"Don't you want to know if I've been telling you the truth about me?"

Okay, that's not a bad reason. Some things have been confirmed by Brie but not everything. How they met is still a one-sided story. How is Adalyn still so clueless? How is Brooke still so confident? "Aren't you afraid I would tell her everything about you?"

"Why would you?"

That's a good reason too. Brie would definitely put more dents in the wall if she knows. More picture frames and paintings will be ruined. No one likes to be lied to. Nothing good would come out of it. Surprisingly, Brooke came up with another that is too tempting to resist. There's no reason to resist other than the awkward atmosphere that can't be avoided.

-an hour later-

Leave it to Brooke, awkwardness didn't last long. Food is a good topic for discussion because Brooke chose dim sum for lunch instead of American fast food takeout. There are so many different dishes. There will be enough left over for dinner.

"This doesn't have meat. All veges inside."

"I'm picky not ignorant." Amy admitted, succeeding to create more laughter. This is Vancouver. Thirty percent are Asians. British Columbia is the most ethnically diverse province in Canada. Only those who are racist and close minded wouldn't know what this is. Brooke is neither and is very weird. "That looks gross…sorry" But it does. Brooke is sucking the skin off the bone like it's the best thing she has ever had.

"You have to try this."

"No thank you."

"Just don't think about it."

"How can I not?" It's not a chicken leg. It's a whole chicken claw with wrinkled, swollen skin and a nail on the end of the toes marinated in some kind of brown sauce. Eww. Adalyn was laughing a moment ago but not anymore. She too has never tried it before and is asked to. How is suggesting to cut the skin off the bone going to help? She knows what it is. Is she really going to eat it as is? With Brooke's encouragement, she did with some hesitation.

"Now you try."

"Nnno." That's an exaggeration. It did what she intended. Keep it up. It's the only way to prevent the awkwardness from coming back. Amy quickly realized she didn't have to after Brooke came up with something else to talk to about, the neighbors and the nosy grandma next door who is getting on her nerves. Every elderly with nothing to do is nosy. Grandmothers love to cook and share it with others. Asking the same questions over and over again is normal behavior too. "That could be a sign of dementia." No? Why doesn't she think so?

"She knows what day it is. She knows when I go out, when I came back. She followed me when I took Hope out for a walk. It's like she's stalking me."

"Stalking?" Now that's hilarious coming from someone who did that numerous times. But Brooke may be right. Once is a coincidence. Two times, maybe. The third time cannot be.

"She asked me if he's my boyfriend right in front of him. I was so embarrassed."

(laugh) Elderlies say what's on their mind. That must have been embarrassing for the grocery store worker too. Maybe she should have said yes. Amy didn't make the suggestion because Brooke brought up another good point. The nosy grandma tried to set her up with guys by inviting her to go to her church but not Adalyn? That is strange. It is until Adalyn said she doesn't talk to the old lady as much as Brooke did and Brooke made the mistake of helping her.

"She fell. I helped her. If I knew she would be stalking me, I wouldn't have."

(laugh) Well that's a lie. Only a selfish person wouldn't help an old lady in need, even if she's nosy. Brooke isn't one of them. "Next time, just tell her to eff off." Haha. That's mean but it's the only way.

"I dare you"

What's that supposed to mean? It was just a joke but Brooke's comment sounds like she doesn't believe that I'm capable of that. If Adalyn isn't here, she would remind Brooke that the Perfect Score is dead. This kind looking face can and will tell an annoying old lady to mind her own business. In this case, "there was no need to because she never bothered me and I helped her a few times, once in the market when she didn't have enough cash to pay. I helped her shovel the snow when her kids aren't home. She locked herself out two times. Her kids weren't home and she couldn't get the spare key from the secret location. I got it for her." That's to let Adalyn know that her explanation doesn't make sense. It wasn't because Brooke helped her. "She never offered me food either. She offered it to Brie and Will."

"Well that's just freakin weird."

(laugh) That's what Max used to say, using freakin to replace the other word. It's a little weird but not inexplicable. It's because her daughter is a divorcee too and she let her mother know that she doesn't need any help or relationship advice in many arguments. That's one of the disadvantages of living in a townhouse. Walls aren't thick enough to prevent arguments from being overheard especially when the windows are opened. "She knows I'm divorced. I think that's why she didn't ask me." Make sense? Ohh shoot. The awkwardness just appeared again. No one is talking. They're both staring. Adalyn just excused herself after giving an apology, a very quiet one that's barely audible. Is that it? Brooke did say Adalyn had wanted to use this opportunity to apologize but is that it?

"Sso…you told everyone you're divorced?"

Brooke is as nosy as the grandma. "Phuck…off" That's to let Brooke know that she can be crude even if she doesn't like to swear. "I'm serious. If you don't phuck off, how am I supposed to ask her what I want to know?" That's one of the reasons for coming. She better keep her promise.

"Tell her I forgot the strawberries."

Well that's just stupid. Any excuse would be. I guess. Adalyn isn't going to like it but without Brooke, it might be easier for her to say what's on her mind. Coming here is her request after all. But what's taking her so long? Going upstairs without permission would be wrong. Staying downstairs doesn't feel right either. Amy decided to go upstairs until she heard footsteps. "You okay?" Adalyn looks okay but there's no reason to be upstairs for more than 5 minutes unless...

"I ate too much."

"oh" Eating too much would do that but it has to be "the chicken feet?" No sound of laughter can be heard but there's a smile. It could be too much too. She did try a bit of almost everything and that's a lot.

"Can you take some home?"

Can? Not want to? That's funny. She doesn't look like that type that would care about wasting food. "Sure. I'll take this. Brie loves it…and this and this" They all love the fried shrimp taro fritters and the taro puff. Everything that's fried is good even after hours. Brie would probably want to eat them even with the sore throat. "and these, I'll leave it for her." It's a short laugh from Adalyn but it's better than awkward silence. The white sweet and sour chicken feet look even worse than the brown ones and no one likes the dumpling with pork and shrimp because there's more fat in there than shrimp.

Putting everything in the bag and cleaning up the table didn't take long. It's time for a serious conversation but it looks like Adalyn is still trying to avoid it since she seems to be washing the dishes as slow as she can. Ok then. Don't want to talk about the past, then let's talk about the future. "You haven't told her?" It looks like she doesn't want to talk about that either.

"What good would that do?"

Sounds just like Holly. Adalyn doesn't look like the selfish type but everyone is selfish when it comes to love. "Are you afraid she's going to leave you?" Tracking Brooke's phone should be enough yet she called. That showed mistrust. Her silence now proves it. "Why would she?" Something else must have happened. Something she can't say or don't want to say. This can't be about a meaningless marriage paper. This is getting ridiculous. "It's decided then. Let me tell her."

"Don't!"

That was intentional. Surprisingly, it worked. Just like Brooke said, Adalyn didn't take the rejection to her proposal well. They've been sleeping in separate rooms? Brooke didn't say that.

"…We were planning to have a baby. Now she doesn't want to."

Brooke didn't say that either. Failing to conceive can be stressful. It can affect sex life too. But that can't be it. Brooke was excited and more than willing to overshare the last time. "How many times have you tried?" That is a very personal question. But it's not irrelevant. The next question will let her know the reason for asking. "Do you think she knows?" Brooke is smarter than she looks. If she knows she's going to die soon like Francois, of course she wouldn't want to have a baby. She would want to try every cuisine there is. That's what she said earlier. This could be the reason she bought every dim sum on the menu.

"She's always like that. She wants to try everything. It's what makes her interesting."

Yes she is. Brooke's numerous experiences could get anyone interested. Has she really eaten the poisonous pufferfish before though? Whether it's true or not, Brooke knows what it takes to achieve her goal. Knowledge is power. Certainly, having just a pretty face wouldn't be able to get anyone to risk their lives for her. If this is how she's always been, then what changed? "Have you noticed anything different about her? I mean, after she woke up." That is a very confusing question. Of course there are a lot of things different. She broke up with Christian. She chose her. "behavior, I mean. Is she always this controlling?"

"What do you mean? She's not controlling."

Hah. That's funny. If Brie were here, she would immediately say yes. "I think Brie would disagree."

"That's not controlling. She cares about her."

Good point but what about this? "You didn't look like you want to eat the chicken feet. Yet you ate it. Why?"

"I ate it because I've never had it before. Eating the same thing is boring and I didn't find it disgusting as you did. She wouldn't force it down my throat if I don't want to."

Spoken just like a lawyer with reasons to back it up. But does she know how that sounds? Like a submissive wife. "Do you always do everything she says?"

"Did you come here to insult me?"

"That was just a question and you did ask me to come. Were you expecting me to just eat, listen and look at you two pretending that nothing's wrong?" Denial is expected, not a perplexed face. "Oh c'mon. I'm picky not blind." Amy had more to say if Adalyn didn't cut her off with a remark that made her realize that the ignorant mind needs more time to recover. Uggh. That lying B

"She said I invited you?"

"She said you wanted to apologize"

"I've apologized numerous times already. What more do you want me to say?"

A more sincere apology would be nice. Guess that's not happening. Ok then. "The truth. You can start by telling me how you two met." It's not too much to ask. Why is she unwilling? "Was it love at first sight?" If asking nicely doesn't work, then maybe this will. "Oh wait. I forgot. That's not possible. She's a prostitute and you're a lawyer with a very wealthy father. I heard you had a boyfriend then. Yet you chose to be with a prostitute, a prostitute who was in love with a man, a prostitute who has had sex with many men and probably women too. So tell me. Did you fall for her because she's interesting or because she's willing to spread her legs for money or are you with her because she allowed you to tie her up, blindfold her, strip her, then fuc" That did it. Amy had to stop talking to avoid getting hit even if it's just a dirty dish towel. Getting told to get out is expected. But leaving right now without getting what she came for seems unfair. Leftovers aren't enough. "Is it because of the key? You think she has the key. Don't you?"

"What?"

Amy expected that too so there's only one thing to do. Ignore Adalyn and head for the stairs, taking 2 steps at a time and hope none of the bedrooms are locked. Looking for the key isn't the goal nor is it to see if they are sleeping in separate rooms. It's to see what Adalyn is hiding. That would be less difficult to do than looking thru this room. It's a mess. The bed isn't made. The closet is opened. Clothing are not where they're supposed to be. Some drawers are opened. Amy starts from the bottom drawer of the dresser since the top drawer is half opened. No one hides anything in the top drawer.

"Open the door right now!"

"I wouldn't be so loud if I were you unless you want your neighbors to hear!" Amy moves over to the end table near the bed.

"There's nothing in there."

That's better. The banging stopped. Adalyn is no longer yelling and she's wrong too. "I found it!" Amy said before opening the door. "Guess she needs this to satisfy her after all." Adalyn doesn't look surprised so that could mean she knows about the dildo. There are more than just sex toys in the drawer too. "and this"

"That's not the key."

"no kidding" How stupid does she think I am? "What does it open?"

"It's just a spare door key."

That can't be true. It's too small.

"Hey!" Adalyn said, forgetting to lower her voice since she didn't expect the comforter to be thrown on the floor.

"Don't you want to know if she's cheating on you?" Getting the same look as before is unexpected. "Don't tell me you never thought of that? You left her messages. Then you called her. Why?"

"because she could be hurt"

"Is that the excuse you gave yourself every time you called?" If it is, she has a problem.

"It's not an excuse. You know…hey!" This time, she yelled because the pillow was thrown at her. It didn't hit the floor since she was able to catch it but after getting pushed on the bed, she realized it was intentionally done to blind her temporarily. "Get off!"

"Answer my question. Are you with her because of the key?" Denying with one word NO is loud and expected but she wasn't expecting Adalyn to say the same thing that Lucy did. Adalyn did because she thinks there's a misunderstanding. "There's no misunderstanding. I just don't believe you. Now, tell me the truth."

"I'm telling you the truth!...OWw!"

That's what she gets for interrupting and being so loud again. This isn't about Francois. This is about Jack and Brooke. "She said she met Jack on the tour. Do you believe that? I don't. I think they knew each other before that. I think something happened between them. So he poisoned her and you know why. I think…you're with her because you know she stole his key."

"Why would she hide it if she has it?"

"Well, either she doesn't trust you or she knows what is for." What a stupid question. "So stop lying or I will break your arm. Tell me. Why would you fall for a slut?" The word slut seems to be more effective than the word prostitute. Adalyn is defending Brooke in the same way as Brooke did for Brie and herself which doesn't sound like a lie. Does she really not know?

"I don't care who she's been with, how many she's been with. I love, only her. You should know why. You fell for a criminal and she has a lot of OWww"

That's for mentioning Lucy. "I just want to know how you two met, how you two got together. So don't give me a reason to hurt you again."

"All right."

Okay. Finally.

"The first time I saw her, she was-"

"What the hell are you two doing?"

But the timing absolutely sucks! Amy slowly got off Adalyn while wondering why Adalyn is trying to explain what happened like someone who got caught cheating when she should be asking Brooke how long she has been standing outside. There were no sounds of footsteps. No announcement was made. Why did she come back so early? More importantly, what is she hiding?
