Val woke up again not long after, hearing her phone buzz over and over. She felt hot, pushing herself away from the still sleeping Piccolo and crawling over to where her phone lay. She grabbed her phone, blinked sleep from her blurry eyes as she looked at it, seeing over thirty messages and a dozen missed calls. She groaned, seeing most of the messages were from Daiki, a few from Bulma, and all the calls from Daiki. She sat up and skimmed them, groaning to herself as she got cleaned up, brushed her hair, and got dressed. She looked back over at him still sleeping, deciding not to wake him just yet, lest he attack again.

She went to the library, rereading the messages as she moved. She sat her phone down and turned her computer on. She answered Daiki and Bulma both, letting them know she was awake and looking at Dr. Gero's research about Android #16. Just as her computer was fully powered up and she had #16's file in front of her, her phone rang, seeing Daiki calling her for a seventh time. She propped it up to stand up at the edge of the laptop and answered the video call.

"I told you not to call her!" Bulma was the first person she heard on the line, but did not see.

Daiki was standing there, looking sheepish on the screen. "But you gave her Dr. Gero's research. Surely she can know how to remove the bomb from him. Or at very least tell you not to try," he answered Bulma but not Val.

"I have the same research. You didn't think I wouldn't have copied it over for myself, did you? And I told you my father and I can handle it," Bulma griped at him. Val looked at the screen, seeing her father in the background, wiggling his moustache disgruntledly.

Val ran her hand through her loose hair on her forehead, rubbing at the dip in it at the center of her hairline. "I just woke up and I half understood your messages," she said, calling their attention to them. She clicked around the screen, pulling up data about #16, one being a schematic of his, for lack of a better word, body. She scanned it quickly. "Yes, he does a bomb in him," she confirmed.

"And we shouldn't try to remove, for fear of blowing up the place, right?" Daiki rushed out. "Who knows how much damage it could do. It could destroy the whole Capsule Corps campus and the surrounding area! Miss Bulma insists we remove though."

She through a glance at him on screen and then back at the laptop. She reframed from shaking her head to avoid seeming disagreeable to either of them right off the bat. She clicked on the area it was located in his body, enhancing the image. "It would be difficult," she agreed, recalling the surgeries she had assisted in the med bay when enslaved by Frieza. This looked more complicated than even some of the aliens on the table had been, and with it being a bomb, also quite risky indeed. "Whoever did it would certainly need to know what they were doing. Would need to study his inner workings carefully, beyond just the bomb site to ensure its removal didn't trigger it," she felt her thoughts want to race, but she bite them back, remembering there was no chance she could leave the Lookout, not for this. Nor did it seem feasible to bring #16 here if she were tempted to try. Nor was there time enough to know what she was doing. She shook her hands out, trying to rid them of the sudden itch to want to even consider it. She looked at her phone, over at Bulma. "When are you going try to do it?" she asked her, feeling a taste of jealousy in the back of her throat.

Bulma perked up. "Tomorrow. After my father and I studied his files. He's suffered quite a bit of battle damage as well. Need to work on that. Wish you were here?"

Val hummed, and begrudging nodded once. "Be careful. If I were to try it, I would want to study," she picked up the phone and showed her laptop screen, "this at the very least for a few days."

"Miss Val, you can't be serious!" she heard Daiki say, as she set her phone down to be propped up on the edge of the laptop.

"I told you not to call her," Bulma said triumphantly. "I told you she would take our side."

Daiki hung up the call abruptly. Val blinked at the image, frowning. She turned back to the screen, mind desiring to even be a fly on the wall when Bulma and her father attempted it. She perused more of his files, stopping at one line that she did not think could be right... She pushed herself away from the screen while still staring at it, wondering what kind of monster would do that to his own son...

Her stomach growled, aiding in pulling her out of her shaken up thoughts. She closed the files and shutdown the laptop. She snagged up the phone, seeing three more messages from Daiki. She read them as she went to the kitchen, telling him if he was so worried, he ought to back up his own files and leave Bulma to her new project.
