The thing about Pokemarts was that they were utterly massive. The add on of mart, undersold the kind of establishment they really were.

This was my second time at the Viridian City Pokemart, and it was utterly massive. Bigger even than the likes of the Morrisons super markets back home.

That was what they were to be honest, super markets geared towards the general trainer or owner of pokemon, no matter what type of trainer they were, be that gym challenger, coordinator or just plain traveller.

Most I'd seen, were massive like this. Granted, there were a few small ones here and there I'd seen on my way to Vermillion City from Cerulean City, but those were mostly pit stop pokemarts and didn't see as much traffic as the main ones in the large cities.

They had practically everything a trainer could need. From weights for training pokemon, food for pokemon, food specifically designed for trainers on a journey, tents with storage technology that made them bigger on the inside, actual storage items with storage technology like backpacks, weapons for self defence, tools for traversing different types of areas and the kind of hazards and difficulties those areas would have from desert areas to thick jungles.

Berries of all types, and of course who could forget the TM's and pokeballs.

"Oh, what's this?" I stopped in front of one of the many, many glass display cases showing off the bright shiny gleam of TM discs. Of course, it wasn't just any old glass that could be smashed willy nilly, this shit was so tempered even my fists would probably just bounce off.

Not to mention at each end of every isle, were security guards with pokeballs displayed boldly and proudly on their belts.
Ace Trainers according to Surge. Pokemarts as a whole, were pretty much owned by Silph Co. Who was in partnership with the Pokemon League Association.

So for big places like this, League employed Ace Trainers were deployed. I didn't actually know much about Ace Trainers or the process of becoming one. I only know that to even be approached for the position one had to have gathered eight badges in a region and competed in a pokemon league.

Which meant every single one of them were cream of the crop when it came to trainers. And one of the better paying options for them. A trainer could only challenge and defeat a gym once per season, so they couldn't exactly be farmed for a windfall of cash.

And beyond entering tournaments and such, there wasn't that many options for a pure trainer to make money outside of becoming employed trainers by the likes of gyms or the league or any other place.

Or well, challenging other trainers but that wasn't the most reliable out of battle clubs and such.

Which granted, even just a standard gym run wasn't bad for money if you had the skill for it. Depending on the gyms challenged, one could make a hundred thousand during the season alone with just eight gyms and that wasn't taking into account being a try hard like Gary and challenging more than the needed eight gyms.

Either way, Specifically my gaze one sitting at the top of one display case right in the middle of the TM aisle. A greyish silver disc, meaning it was a normal type attack.

Tera Blast.

"Oh, dat? Tera Blast?" Surge noted where I was looking and shrugged, "A pokemon ain't really gonna learn that outside a' the Paldea Region. I don't really understand it much myself, not paid a visit there yet to see what it's all about, but apparently dey' discovered some special thing about pokemon over there a while back. Terrastalizin' or somethin' it's called, basically apparently all pokemon are born with some hidden type potential or somethin' and by terrastalizin' they become that type over their original type for a while and get this funky crystal armour stuff for a bit. You can even get stuff like a fire type like an Arcanine becoming a water type, weird stuff."

The huge man cupped his chin and eyed the TM himself, "Dis' Tera Blast is some move pokemon that went through it learned and it changes type to whatever type yer' pokemon becomes through it," he explained, before shrugging again and standing back, "From what I've heard though most pokemon can learn it, only the likes of Magikarp and shit can't."

…What?

A new gimmick that I'd never heard about? Was that what came after Dynamixing and Gigantamaxing then? In the long line from Mega Evolution to Z-Moves to the Galar Dynamixing to now this?

So this time it was a type changing gimmick? With a special bred move that seemed to be like Return in that all pokemon could learn it beyond the usual suspects like Magikarp and probably Caterpie, Weedle and such that could never learn any TM's. Which changed type to match whatever type the pokemon because through whatever this Terrastilizing thing was?
That was kind of broken.

Like imagine using a Charizard and someone sent out a Golem or Rypherior or something for that four times rock weakness.

Only, haha no Terrastalizing go and suddenly Water-Type Charizard with Water-type Tera Blast and boom the tables were now reversed with the four times weakness.

That was amazing.

What wasn't amazing, was the price.

I winced as I looked at the price tag. Eight thousand pokedollars per one singular TM. And unlike the games and such, there was no such thing as unlimited use TM's.

Which made sense because of how TM's were made after all. They did after all, contain a small part of strength or energy, or rather my guess of aura, from the pokemon the attack was taken from.

I could afford a ton of them right now regardless.

But parting ways with so much money for TM's? Especially when I'm going going to buy Luxury Balls in bulk.

Which cost two thousand five hundred pokedollars per one…

Well, it's a lot to spend, even if I can afford it.

I just got this surplus of money today. I always told myself if I ever won the lottery back home I'd never be one of those idiots that just spent a ton of money willy nilly.

I grit my teeth and felt a pit form in my stomach.

But then the conversation with Surge I had earlier came to mind and the epiphany I had about my priorities calmed the roiling emotion of 'no fuck no I don't wanna spend that!'

Money is important, but it's not the most important thing in the world.

"I'm gonna buy fifty." I decided.

"Eh…?" Surge blinked and gave me a confused look.

"Togepri?" Togepi looked up at me with a surprised look on his face as well, copied straight from Surge.

He had no idea what was going on at all, but he trying to join in and be included. Such a cute little baby.

Hmm…

Togepi huh?

And Tm's, huh?

Well, I did brag earlier to him about being born at the right time for a diamond encrusted golden spoon right?

And Togepi could learn a whole lot of moves from TM's.

I'll buy twenty.

Yawn, Dream Eater, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Solar Beam, Shadow Ball, Swift, Flamethrower, Thunder Wave, Psychic, Water Pulse, Nasty Plot, Protect, Light Screen, Reflect, Signal Beam, Telekinesis, Soft Boiled, Heal Bell.

A total of twenty TM's for Togepi.

Which came to a grand total of one hundred thousand pokedollars on the dot. Luckily some of them were lower tier attacks and thus cheaper.

And that is not including one of the Tera Blast TM's.

And the Thunderbolt TM I got from Surge.

That things it up to a total of Twenty Two TM's for my new baby Togepi to learn straight away. The strongest baby is now going to be realized!

…Later.

Between Togepi's TM's, the Tera Blast Tm's and the full two hundred Luxury Balls I wanted.

It brought my total to a full on grand million pokedollars

I feel the urge to cry tears of blood as I go through with the payment, stupefied gazes all around me from customers, to some Ace Trainers, to even the clerk making the sale to me.

"Thank you, that's the payment been taken." the guy behind the counter who'd rung up my purchases said, a nervous look on his face.

I don't blame him either.

I'd made quite the spectacle. Asking for such expensive items and in such large quantities meant that when the items in question were brought out for me, a literal guard detail of Ace Trainers escorted the workers that brought them out.
It was super awkward going through the Luxury Balls one by one and registering them to me.

I truly hadn't thought this through.

'It's an investment!' I told myself. With these to make my pokemon stronger and give them better, healthier, more luxurious live styles to recover within between battles, then it would totally increase their efficiency!

…Totally.

At the very least I probably won't need to drop cash like this for anything for a long ass while. And I'll make more back with the Aerodactyl eggs!

I wasted no time in stuffing everything I bought besides a singular Luxury Ball into my bag and scooped up Togepi who was happily walking up and down the conveyor belt at the sales desk to make my grand exit.

Only to pause as my eyes fell on something.

It was a sign at the end of the check out counter, with the name Silph Co displayed in big giant red bold letters. And advertising…custom made storage technology?

Well I suppose this is a Silph co owned store, so of course they'd be advertising stuff like this.

But…I could something more convenient than my belt for pokeballs right about now. After all, while I don't plan on taking all of my pokemon with me, I don't have a carry limit now.

There is only so much room on my belt after all.

"Hey," I spoke up to the clerk gaining his attention again and nodding at the advertisement, "What kind of custom stuff do they make with that?" I asked.

He floundered for a moment at the question, "Err…Well all kinds of stuff i guess, most seem to just want kind of storage boxes and stuff for around the house and tend to go for more fabric like containers since they're cheaper," he replied, "Though it is possible to get mechanical versions that have digital inputs and such to keep track of what's entered in and the like."

Wait.

Mechanical? With digital technology included?

Interesting.

A thought came to mind.

A plan even. And I just just the kind of guy with me that might be able to help me out on that front.

"What about a mechanical gauntlet?" I asked, "One I could wear on my arm and has slots on the palms and the like to deposit stored items into my hand?"

"Err…I think that's possible, we've had harder custom designs asked for at least," the clerk nodded, "We'd need to take the measurements for your arm and stuff though, and since you're so young it might cost a little more to make it be able to expand a bit to fit your size as you grow. It'll cost a lot though."

Yeah, well just call me Mr. Money Bags.

I expected as much to be honest. Custom stuff always cost a shit ton. But it'll be worth it if the second part I thought of works out.

I turned to Surge who was staring off into space, looking totally bored out of his mind.

"Hey Surge," I said to him, breaking him from his day dreaming, "You any idea where I can get a Rotom?"

"The hell you want one of those annoying little shits for?" Surge asked raising an eyebrow at me, before rolling his eyes, "I've got a few, one on my main team even but they're a pain in the ass to train, always zipping around everywhere like they're on a constant sugar high."

Yeah, they were like that from what I know.

Though when they entered into technology at least, they seemed to calm down a little bit. Note to self, have people discovered the alternate Rotom forms yet?

Well no matter.

"I've got a crazy plan in mind," I shrugged back, "Tell me where I can find one or just sell me one if they annoy you that much."

Surge gave me a weird look, "You're a weird kid, ya know dat?" he huffed, "Fine, they're pretty rare though. I'll give ya' one for fifty kay and that'll do it."

"Deal." I accepted immediately.

…As it turned out, due to it being mechanical in nature and having to be designed with the concept of my hands growing in the future, the price of my gauntlet with storage technology would cost quite a bit.

A full million pokedollars in fact.

In one trip to to the Pokemart, I spent two million pokedollars.

…And fifty thousand extra I guess.

Well, at the very least Togepi liked his new Luxury Ball home and it was very stylish. I wouldn't need to wait long for the gauntlet thanks to the magic that is teleportation, and got myself a new Rotom

I swore my bank was crying though.

There was two things to take care of before I made my way back to the Pokemon Centre to see about transferring al my pokemon into their new shiny, spiffy new Luxury Balls.

First was teaching my new Rotom Tera Blast. Honestly, I'll probably look into teaching Rotom a bunch of TM's going forward. I have big plans for this little guy.

Of course meeting him properly can wait until later.

The second, was teaching Togepi Tera Blast.

And the twenty other Tm's I'd bought for him while I was at it.

For a total of twenty one.

But actually twenty two when the Thunderbolt TM I got from Surge was included as well.

While I was in the process of that, the TM machine with Togepi's gleaming ebony black luxury ball embedded in it sitting on a bench I was hunched over inserting disc after disc and uploading them straight to Togepi, I had a question to pose to Surge.

"Do you think Rotom will get a type change when I put it in the gauntlet?" I asked.

"Probably a good chance," Surge shrugged, "The type tends ta' vary depending on the purpose of the machine ya' put one in. Like putting it in a freezer gives it da' ice type and lets it learn Ice Beam and stuff while it is, where as if ya' put em in a pokedex for instance they tend to get a psychic typing."

….Huh. I didn't know that.

Though it kind of made sense.

"Not sure what it's gonna be though for you," Surge scratched his chin, "If it was just a machine gauntlet, I'd say maybe a fighting type? But it has dat' storage technology in it and stuff so that could make it be a psychic type or somethin'."

Hoh?

Personally I'd prefer it getting a fighting type. I'd never seen an electric and fighting type before, unless there's ones native to that Paldea place. Becoming a fighting type with access to Power Up Punch, Brick Break or even Aura Sphere would be hella cool for my plans.

…Then again, psychic wouldn't be too bad either. Rotom is one of the few ghost types that doesn't get access to any psychic type attacks beyond the likes of reflect, light screen, trick and such.

I'd still prefer the fighting type though.

With how many TM's I had to teach Togepi, it took literally a good twenty five minutes before I was done.

Once I was, I stowed the TM machine back in my backpack and grabbed Togepi's pokeball, before standing up and stretching my back out. Squatting down in front of a bench for nearly a half an hour could make your muscles feel that burn.

"Ya' know kid, yer' a little bit crazy," Surge commented as I finished, shaking his head, "I don' think I've ever seen somebody drop such an absurd amount of TM's on a pokemon born on the same day, that's what, twenty one? And some of dem' were pretty damn powerful ones like Solabeam', flametrowa', Shadow Ball, Moon Blast even dat Tundabolt one I just gave ya. Ya probably boosted that little ting up to tha' level needed ta fight in gym battles already and the little type was just born."

He wasn't wrong. After all, that was roughly around the same amount of TM's Gary had taught his Nidoking, if not a little more and from what I'd gleamed from talking to him, he hadn't used as many high powered Tm's as I had with Togepi.

Granted Nidoking had evolved twice as well, but still. When we battled, my Shiftry might have won quite cleanly, but his Nidoking was easily on the level needed to take on and even defeat some of Lily from the Cerulean Gym's pokemon.

Pay to win was extremely overpowered in the early growth of a pokemon. It was just few people could actually afford to do such a thing. I mean I just literally hundreds of thousands on Togepi.

"Ability wise maybe, but he still wouldn't do well, he has no idea how to use that power properly in a fight right now." I shrugged.

I'll remedy that quickly though.

"Well should just be glad Togepi don't evolve the normal way I s'pose, that influx ah' power it got would be enough to trigger a lot of first stages into evolvin'," Surge shrugged, "Granted won' be long either way with you spoilin' the little thing like that before it evolves either way."

Hmm, he had a point.

"You think I should go buy a shiny stone?" I mused, cupping my chin. It would be a good idea to have one in advance really. Honestly I should stock up on a bunch of different evolution items now that I think about it and-

A massive fist grasped me by the back of my jacket and casually lifted me into the air, "Kid, I tink' ya'v spent enough for one day, cool it a lil' bit." Surge snorted, rolling his eyes, before moving on, carrying me all the while.

Well, I suppose he wasn't wrong.

"Fair enough, I can't be bothered walking back to the store anyway." I shrugged.

When I arrived back at the Pokemon Centre, or well, Surge finished carrying me back, I headed off to see Nurse Joy.

The look she gave me when I told her I needed to transfer all of my pokemon to new pokeballs, all luxury balls, could have curdled milk.

She didn't approve of me spending so much, but there wasn't much she could do when I already had done so.

As it was, she didn't bother showing me the way to the pokeball storage room herself and just had my Blissey do it, seeing as she used to work here, and walked away after returning my party I'd left with her to get healed.

A whole lot of trust to be honest, because it wasn't exactly just my own pokeballs stored in here.

Heh, despite the trouble I cause her she is totally fond of me and trusts me. I should do something nice for her later.

With Blissey's help, it didn't take long before I reached my destination. It was a very specific room deep within the Pokemon Centre itself, a place where typical guests usually couldn't reach.

It was a single door…if it could be called a door.

It was more like a massive gate with massive locks formed from what looked like hydraulic presses bolted into the wall itself. They obviously weren't actual hydraulic presses, but that was the best I could liken them to in design.

Honestly, it was an impressive looking door. it looked like a bomb could be detonated on it without a single dent to show for it.

"Bliss bliss." Blissey waddled over to a small panel at the side of the door, before tapping a button on it with one of her cute stubby pink arms. As she did, a hole in the wall opened above it showing off a blue orb, before a light flickered out of it and enveloped Blissey.

And a second later-

"Access granted." a mechanical voice echoed from the small orb. And the heavy hydraulic press like bolts bolted into the wall and keeping the door, rotated before sliding away and the massive gate like door slid into the ground out of sight and left the entryway wide open.

Damn…that was so cool.

It reminded me of those doors at Realgem Tower in the Pokemon Colosseum games.

'…Oh right I almost forgot about that.' I blinked in remembrance as I stepped through the entryway. Orre is in fact a thing and Surge even brought it up not long ago.

I should probably look into that just in case.

If that Snag Machine is a real thing, I want it to no longer be a thing. Then again, it wasn't the only threat in that regard…

'The Iron Masked Marauder has those dark balls as well.' I hummed in thought I looked over the room I entered. It was a dull silver in colour and massive in size, easily a hundred feet by a hundred feet if not more and filled to the brim with massive shelf like structures lining not only the walls, but spread throughout the entirety of the room.

There had to be thousands of pokeballs lining the shelves.

'Plus those freaky eye ball pokeball things Mewtwo somehow made as well, considering all that tech came from Team Rocket to begin with…' my thoughts trailed off and I sighed.

What the hell was with all the variations of pokeball tech that could just outright steal pokemon in this world?

Granted maybe I shouldn't be surprised considering one of the facets of pokemon technology I was about to make use of myself.

See when transferring pokemon to different pokeballs, as long as they were registered to the same trainer, a new pokeball could integrate the old one. Somewhat similar to the way those pokeballs Mewtwo made could outright capture pokemon that were literally inside their pokeballs.

It really didn't do much though even if they were 'integrated'. It just transferred the ownership and pokemon data to the new pokeball, and through integrated the physical shell of the old pokeball, the new one became a little more sturdy.

I kept my eyes peeled as I wandered through the room, taking note of labels of trainers names on certain shelves. Most only had one shelf to themselves, filled with two or three pokeballs, the one ones had six or a bit more.

It wasn't long before I found my own shelf.

Or rather, shelves plural.

Actually, I had three of the massive bookshelf like structures that held the shelves dedicated to me and all my pokemon. Each singular pokeball had not only a tag of my name, but a tag indicating which pokemon was inside.

And at the very end of the third shelf was a very new pokeball that was just added to my collection earlier.

Jord Odhar/Altaria

Hmm, her pokeball was actually full at the moment. She hadn't been let out with the others yet. She must have been transferred right here after being transferred to my ownership by Lance.

That will save me some time actually.

For now though-

I reached up and slipped my backpack off of my shoulders and lowered it to the ground, before crouching down and reaching inside it to lift out the a mass amount of the luxury balls I'd purchased by the handful.

"Blissey?" Blissey waddled over a moment later and gave me a curious look, eyeing the shiny gleaming and shrunken luxury balls.

"Don't worry, you're getting one too," I flashed her a thumbs up, "You probably deserve one the most really, being the MVP of the team and all."

"Blissey bliss." she shrugged her little stubby pink arms as if she didn't mind either way and smiled gently as she reached down to grab one of the luxury balls with one of her little arms and enlarged it, before lowering it down and repeating it with another, then another.
While I took them out and put them in a pile of shrunken ebony balls, she grabbed them one by one, enlarged them and put them in a new pile.

Blissey was as ever, so helpful.

It only took a few minutes before we were done and there was a pile of over a hundred gleaming black expensive luxury balls sitting in a pile on the floor before us.

Unfortunately, I'd have to do the transfer or integration or whatever myself, so Blissey couldn't help me speed it up.
That said-

I didn't waste any time and got right down to it. It was gonna take a while after all. I just had that many pokemon to be honest that even a simple quick task, would be prolonged into something that took quite an annoying while to get done.

Thankfully I knocked a little time off by catching Togepi originally in a luxury ball and transferring Rotom into one while Surge was carrying me like by the collar of my jacket back here to the pokemon centre.

It wasn't much, merely saved me a minute or so, but it was a minute or so quicker I'd be done!

…Of course later I'm going to need to go through another similar mind numbing process when I teach all my main battlers Tera Blast.

Such is the life of a Jord though.

And here we are back again with the big o fortyyyyy fooooour. Indeed, we be starting off 2024 on the morning of January first with a rousing new chapter fourty four or 44 of Jordinio Version, yaaaay!

But yeah, starting off the new year right if I do say so myself. Just got finished writing and uploading another part of Systematic Shinobi to the Pa-atreon as well, so good shit yup yuppers.

So anyway a few things happened this chapter. Poke-Jord spent a shit ton. Mostly on TM's and Luxury Balls and my god look at that Togepi's move set and it literally just hatched, what the fuck you crazy bastard. And he got a wild idea up his arse. Well, another wild idea. I'll not come out and say it outright, but it's pretty obvious what he wants the Rotom for. Which he just bought from Surge. And then went on to transfer all his pokemon to Luxury Balls. The crazy fuck tard. God damnit Poke-Jord, why you gotta be such a fucking stupid retarded tard of tardness man, know what I mean my lads, possible ladies, minions of all race, size, gender and ages.

Welp, beyond that I hope you guys all had a great christmas and new year, let's hope for a great 2024 going forward. And as always, if you wanna read advance chapters a while before they come up here, like the ones I have up for Beyond Critical, Primal, Power, Systematic Shinobi and others I've not even uploaded on here, you can check them out at the Pa-atreon.

Anyway, again, shameless Pa-atreon plug. I've got one, go by the same username on there, easy to find and all that jazz. Support me if you want, it'd be swell, but don't feel pressured lads and ladies, I'll be uploading my stuff outside it regardless and not keeping it all behind a paywall or anything like that.
