Some people said mindless repetition was a good thing, a great thing even. An activity anyone and everyone should become skilled at and learn to deal with.
Some people also died after getting punched in the face really really hard. Usually there wasn't much correlation between the two.
…But I can see it.
"Ugh, that was horrible." I groaned, stretching out my back with a grimace. The process of transferring all my pokemon from regular old pokeballs to luxury balls took over an hour.
And it was mind numbing.
Press a button on a ball. Beep. Press a button on a ball. Beep. Touch those balls together. Beep. Munch. Beep.
Ping!
Over and over again.
"Never again." I decided.
I'm just going to catch all my pokemon in Luxury Balls going forward and skip this process ever happening again.
…Granted it's highly unlikely I'll ever be in the situation where I need to transfer over a hundred different pokemon between different pokeballs again, but you never know with me.
I'm an idiot after all.
Sure, I'm a gigatacular awesomepossom idiot, but an idiot nonetheless.
"Blissey bliss!" Blissey chirped as she stepped up behind me and massaged my back while I stretched, the soothing power of Heal Pulse seeping into my muscles and loosening me right up.
Oh yeah, that's the stuff!
I tell you, you haven't lived till you've had a heal pulse massage.
"Thanks girl, you're always such a big help." I turned to her and rubbed her wide fluffy pink head after a minute of enjoying it.
"Bliss bliss blissey!" she just beamed at me happily and nuzzled her head against my palm.
I kept it up for a few moments before pulling away, "Alright lemme just grab these guys." I said, reaching over to grab up the luxury balls containing the party I'd had with me previously.
And of course a few others.
Blissey's went without saying, but alongside ball was Pidgeot, Fearow, Victreebel, Bellossom, Milotic, Charizard, Dragonite, Gyarados, Blastoise, Aerodactyl, Togepi-
And of course Rotom and Altaria my two technically newest additions.
Thirteen balls in total on me. I couldn't help but grin giddily.
No carry limit after all!
Woo yeah!
I clipped them to my belt and looked to Blissey, "I'm gonna introduce myself to the new guys, then head over to visit everyone else," I told her, "You wanna come or would you prefer to rest up in your ball?"
"Blissey bliss!" she beamed and skipped ahead of me, a big smile on her face.
Well, I guess that answers that.
Usually I would have probably headed out back behind the pokemon centre to introduce myself to my new pokemon. After all, it being outside meant there was a whole lot of space, and by proxy of being outside it meant the pokemon were not confined at all.
Not trapped.
It gave them the option to flee if they ever felt the need to. Which was an option all living things generally needed and would go a long way to making them feel more comforted.
There is after all, nothing more choking and anxiety inducing than feeling trapped in a situation you did not want to be.
I couldn't though, because some dumbass reporters were still scrounging around, I'd seen them on my way back with Surge.
They probably hadn't approached because of said mountain of a man, but still.
Which reminded me, he'd given me his number and general contact details before heading off to find Professor Cerise.
…Did me and that guy just become friends?
'So weird.' I snorted and shrugged as I made my way deeper into the pokemon centre, specifically to one of the small inner training rooms.
While I've used them a few times, they're not really my preferred place to train. They're more preferred by guys like Paul, who were all like-
'Hmph, why should I let others see my hard training? Dumb losers. Now get out of my face so I can continue smashing a rock over this Caterpie's head a thousand times, then have my Magmar hit it with five flamethrowers. Honestly, if it can't even take that, it's a useless pokemon, hmph!'
Man if I ever meet that guy I'm gonna give him an atomic wedgie and hang him from a flagpole.
Or a thousand foot cliff, either or.
I paused just outside the training room, "Should I stop by Sinnoh and see if I can find Chimchar?" I wondered, a frown on my face.
I didn't really want to go around yoinking Ash's future pokemon if I could help it. Charmander or well Charizard now was a completely different matter, as was Froakie and the like. But in general I wanted to avoid doing that if I could help it.
Chimchar though, I had a rough idea where Paul found him. I'm pretty sure it was in Sinnoh's Route 208.
It would be a bit scummy to seek Chimchar out for myself and yoink him before Paul and by proxy Ash, but to be frank.
Chimchar had a really sucky time of it before ending up with Ash, and even with Ash had a deep lasting trauma that took even Ash the entirety of his Sinnoh journey to fix.
Paul was a fucking cunt. The guy had Chimchar beaten to quite frankly the verge of death practically every night. The training shown that Paul put him through, was obscene and beyond cruel. And beyond that, was the added fact that Paul even went a step further and gas lit Chimchar into thinking it was what he himself wanted and wasn't just Paul's own selfishness.
Even just remembering the training now makes me cringe. He'd have Chimchar surrounded by his other Pokemon - Torterra, Sneasel, Ursaring, Murkrow, Electabuzz and others, who would fire off their strongest attacks at Chimchar. Frenzy Plant, Hyper Beam, Shadow Ball, Thunder and more, and each time Chimchar was expected to either repel all those attacks at once, or get back up and try again.
'Seriously, fuck that guy.' I growled. An atomic wedgie seriously was not going to be enough.
"Bliss?" A curious pat on my arm made me look to Blissey who was giving me a concerned look.
"Ah, sorry," I forced a laugh, "Just got caught up in my thoughts, come on." I pushed the door open and headed inside the training room.
I'll need to think on it a little bit. I need to stop by Sinnoh anyway so I can capture that wild shiny Metagross. And a certain troll of a Gible.
While it was true I'd had a bit of an epiphany with Surge and decided to slow down on the catching a little bit, that was just in general. There were still the plans I'd already made for quite a few pokemon to catch.
Like paying a visit to Fennel Valley before I leave Kanto. A place actually not that far away and is in between Viridian City and the Indigo Plateau. There is a wild Tyranitar I plan to catch over there after all.
Well, it didn't specifically have to be that Tyranitar. I know where a few are, like a wild one in Alola. But it would save me time to go after the one at Fennel Valley.
"Alright, ready to meet Altaria?" I grinned at Blissey.
"Bliss!" she nodded happily.
I reached for my belt where the gleaming black and gold luxury balls shone dazzlingly and grabbed Altaria's.
A moment later there was a burst of bright light from the expensive pokeball as I released the pokemon within.
I almost whistled when the light solidified into a gorgeous, massive bird of sea blue feathers and soft, fluffy white cloud like wings.
I already knew from the listing of her weight and size under my trainer profile, that Altaria was much bigger than average, which was to be expected she was trained by Lance after all.
It was another thing to see it though.
Altaria cocked her long neck and head to the side and regarded me silently, looking down into my eyes from where she towered over a foot above me.
"Aren't you a beautiful one, huh?" I laughed, making her tilt her head up just a little bit more and preen, "Hey, I'm Jord and I guess I'm your new trainer, it's amazing to meet you."
"Blissey Bliss!" Blissey at my side happily waved up to the large draconic bird pokemon and greeted her.
"Al Altaria." Altaria trilled back, inclining her long neck to me and Blissey in greeting She looked around us, before giving a questioning trill, "Taria?"
"Were you expecting someone else as well?" I blinked. I've only just met her, so I'm not really sure what she's looking for.
"Blissey bliss bliss." Blissey caught my attention and I looked to her curiously. She nodded at me, before reaching out and patting one of the luxury balls on my belt.
Specifically…Aerodactyl's.
I blinked again, "You want to meet Aerodactyl already?" I asked, getting a prompt nod from her, "Well okay. I was gonna give you time to get settled in first, and see if you were fine with it in the first place."
"Taria?" Altaria eyed me oddly.
I shrugged, "I mean I did ask Lance for you specifically for this purpose yeah, but well you're my pokemon now…assuming you want to stick around," I replied, "I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't want, especially something like this."
In return, Altaria rolled her eyes and a harumphing snort left her beak, "Taria, al altaria." she shrugged her wings, before swiping her wing almost dismissively at the pokeballs on my waist.
I just stared for a moment. I mean, she seems completely uncaring about the fact she was picked to breed with Aerodactyl.
I mean Lance did say he'd already bred her before with a Sceptile that belonged to one of his clansmen. So I suppose this isn't her first rodeo?
"Alright, fair enough I'll bring him out." I shrugged lamely, grabbing Aerodactyl's ball from my belt and with a press of a button, the shiny black and gold capture sphere clicked open and released a burst of shiny bright light that formed into Aerodactyl.
"AEERRRRRROOOOO!" he roared as he appeared, as he always did. A leer on his face and maw open wide in a macabre saw like grin that was supposed to be intimidating.
But just made him look like an idiot.
I snorted.
Blissey smiled pleasantly.
Altaria yawned.
With his grand entrance taken care of, Aerodactyl finally actually began paying attention to us.
Only to blink as he caught sight of Altaria and his eyes flew wide open as he goggled at her, massive mouth dropping wide open.
"Aero!?" he spluttered for just a moment, before he recovered.
I watched in utter bemusement as he practically bounced over towards her, spreading his wings wide-
And thrust his wings out to the side over his head….looking like he was dabbing. And then he did it to the other side.
And then the hands atop his wings curled into fists as he curled them up above his head-
As if he was a bodybuilder trying to flex his muscles and show off.
'Well, he's confident if nothing else.' I thought and it took great willpower not to burst out laughing.
There was an awkward silence as he waited for Altaria to respond.
She didn't.
She just stared at him for what felt like an eternity. Completely silent.
And completely unimpressed.
Finally, she turned her beak up at him and looked away, "Taria." she snorted simply.
"Aero!?" Aerodactyl staggered back as if physically struck by her, eyes wide in horror.
Before falling to his knees as she turned her attention to me and Blissey and completely ignored him.
"Taria altaria, al al altaria." she sighed.
And I got the feeling she was saying something along the lines of, 'Just my luck to have to be around an ugly fool like this.'
"That's rough buddy." I said comfortingly to Aerodactyl.
That was not at all conveyed with the smirk on my face. He turned to look at me pitifully, the wind completely taken from his sails and all the confident bravado he'd been displaying since I first ran into him, completely gone.
…Funny to think that was just earlier today.
"Virgin." I snorted at him.
And Aerodactyl died.
Or so one would have thought with how he dramatically collapsed on his back as if shot, at my simple statement.
Well, not that he'd ever even probably interacted with a female he was capable of mating with before. So his ineptitude is somewhat understandable.
It didn't stop me from bullying him though.
After letting my maidenless Aerodactyl meet the future mother of his very expensive children, I decided it was about time to go see all my other pokemon.
There was only problem-
"Oh c'mon, stop sulking." I rolled my eyes at Aerodactyl who lay across the ground in total defeat. Even after I explained to him just exactly where Altaria came from and the fact he'd be mating with her, he still didn't budge.
Apparently the fact she didn't care for him at all and found him a disappointment outweighed the fact he'd get to mate with her. Well, I suppose I could get it. A pity lay wasn't at all good for the confidence after all.
Probably, I couldn't tell to be honest I'd never been in that situation.
I'd returned Altaria and Blissey to their pokeballs at least to ease a little of the humiliation he felt without them around to see him sulking.
Aerodactyl refused to look at me from where he lay on the ground, face buried between his wings.
Honestly, he is such a drama queen.
Huffing, I sat on his head as if it were a big rocky boulder. He had a massive head, and didn't even dip at all from my weight.
"You went about it all wrong," I sighed, shaking my head, "I mean, the stupid posing and crap to show off was pretty cringey mate, but that wasn't where you actually screwed up. It was when she rejected you and you got all over dramatic about it and resorted to this…whatever the hell this is."
"…Rooo…" he grumbled underneath me.
"Don't get huffy," I snorted, "Like sure I get it, this was what your first time interacting with a female you can mate with…probably. So it's understandable you were an utter failure at it with no experience, it just doesn't change that you came across pretty pathetically to her, understandable or not reality doesn't care about excuses."
That did it.
His grumbling turned into an angry growl beneath me at my insulting tone and he shook his head aggressively beneath to try and dislodge me as he began to rise up, raising me into the air.
I scoffed and reached down, grabbing him under his massive rocky chin before rolling forward towards the ground and pulling.
A yelp left his massive maw as I dragged him and spun him around with me as I flipped and landed on my feet and smashed him into the ground.
"Aero!?" he sputtered, eyes wide in shock as I planted my foot on his chest to pin him to the ground.
It honestly wouldn't do much if he tried to exert his full strength, but as always the shock of being tossed by a tiny little human shocked him into a stupor. After all, he has no idea he is that much stronger than me because of the way I've tossed him around.
The Dao of Bullshit is truly overpowered.
I leaned on my leg pinning him to the ground and smirked down at him, "What you should have done, is laugh her rejecting you off and not take it so personally," I told him, "At the very least you would have saved some of your self respect, and that's much more attractive than someone who does…whatever the hell you just did."
"…Aero?" he blinked, before cocking his head to the side as if to ask 'Really?'
"Yes," I said bluntly, "Really, someone who has respect for themselves is far more attractive than someone who doesn't, that transcends all race, species and gender. You would have come off way better if you just shrugged it off."
"Ro, ro aero." he shrugged his wings and huffed, letting his head fall back and lay against the tiled floor in defeat.
I have no idea what he meant this time though. Maybe something along the lines of if he only knew beforehand…maybe?
Well, it didn't really matter too much I suppose. The general meaning would roughly amount to the same thing in the end anyway.
"The confidence is a good start though I suppose," I shrugged and took my foot off of him, though he continued just laying there, "Either way, you'll be mating with her later on anyway, so buck up for now and shrug it off. The best thing to do, is improve yourself. Get stronger, make that confidence more real and get some experience with her so next time you run into a female you like, it doesn't turn out like this. Use this experience to make yourself better."
Aerodactly looked up at me, before sighing and kicking his legs and wings out huffily.
Very whiny looking actually.
"Oh get over it," I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "You might have been the strongest in that little cavern, but you were little more than a Poliwag in a well, you didn't understand just how vast the world is and don't know even now. I'll change that quickly."
Now none of this whiny crap.
Crouching down I grabbed him under his back and with a grunt, bodily lifted him up into the air above my head, drawing a yelp from the massive rock and flying type pokemon.
He kicked up a fuss like a whiny brat, but I ignored him in favour of carrying him off. It was time to go see all my other pokemon here at the Viridian City Pokemon Centre.
He'll change his tune after he spends a night with Altaria.
Probably.
Hopefully.
And if he doesn't, well that is what training is for. He's just being huffy because he found himself going from top of the food chain, to the very bottom and nobody found him all that impressive beyond his species.
As I made my way through the Viridian Pokemon Centre, carrying my sulky little virgin of an Aerodactyl above my head I got a few odd looks from the scant amount of others within the hospital for pokemon, mostly from the working Chansey, but there were a few people beyond those that came to see me here as well.
None of them tried to even talk to me though in spite of that, in fact I felt they shied away from me.
Weird.
I wasn't really going to complain though, while I'd decided to be well...less of a selfish, ignorant cunt after my talk with Surge, and wouldn't have shooed them away, I still have things to do and random people wanting to talk to me would get in the way of that.
It wasn't long before I reached my destination, the secondary building of the Pokemon Centre where the pokemon that were left at Viridian by those the Pokemon Centre sponsored like myself were allowed to roam as they pleased.
'Damn.' I whistled as I overlooked the building from the small hallway junction connecting both the main Pokemon Centre building and it. It was absolutely massive and shaped like a dome.
It was probably around the size of three football fields put together, if not a little more, absolutely gargantuan. It made sense though, pokemon came in all shapes and sizes, and lived in all manners of habitats, so it would need to be at least this big to let them live comfortably.
...Well depending on how many of them were actually there. It was honestly probably pushing it just with my pokemon. It's a good thing I had mostly all my bigger pokemon with me before now.
Humming, I took one hand off of Aerodactyl and balanced him above me with just the other hand, before fishing out my phone and bringing up my pokedex app. The door to the habitat was just like the one the pokeball storage room was sealed behind, though unlike that one registered trainers here with pokemon currently within the habitat, could gain access by presenting their ID as a trainer. It was a state of the art facility that according to Nurse Joy monitored the insides in real time, and if anything were to go wrong, a red alert would not only be sent to the police station and Officer Jenny, but the employed Ace Trainers by the League that protected Viridian City, and of course the Viridian City Gym Leader and his forces.
I paused for a moment, '...How the fuck did Jessie and James ever manage to hold this place up?' I wondered. Putting Giovanni aside, since he would definitely drag his feet if he heard it was Team Rocket behind it, just how were Officer Jenny and the Ace Trainers not alerted?
Did they somehow subvert the system? But, from what I remembered, they didn't really do anything like that and just attacked the joint. Granted, I wouldn't put it past them to be able to actually subvert the system. Jessie, James and Meowth were the most incompetent thieves this world had ever seen, barring Cassidy and Biff maybe.
But they were hyper competent at everything else. They were incredible battlers, incredible at raising pokemon. Expert mechanics, miners, actors, cooks, waiting staff, cleaners, hackers, builders, con artists, escapers, gardeners, infiltrators, fighters and all manner of all professions and abilities. And that wasn't even going into their own personal interests and specializations like Jessie being a qualified nurse and James being a top tier pokeringer and much much more.
And that isn't also going into their absurd loyalty and work ethic. Quite frankly, if it were possible, they would be at the very top of my list of people to recruit to work for me. The amount of boons I would get from them working under me would be absurd. Having all their talents to put to my uses, as well as them increasing the efficiency of looking after my pokemon as a whole...and Meowth being able to translate anything any pokemon said would be absolutely insane.
Not to mention Jessie was absurdly hot.
...I may have resolved to better myself as a person after my epiphany, but baby steps and all that. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.
'She is damn hot though.' I nodded. And that skirt on those thigh high boots she wore when I saw her back on the day I first arrived here in this world, should have been illegal.
Like Arceus dayum!
Shaking my head and putting the dayum that was Jessie out of mind for the moment, I pressed my phone up against the scanner at the side of the heavy duty security door and waited for a moment as the system worked to process the data.
Bip!
"Access granted," the scanner chimed in a pleasant voice, "Welcome Jord Odhar."
With a soft hiss, the door unlocked and began sliding open.
Alright,' I nodded and took a breath, before making my way inside, and as soon as I did the door hissed once more and closed tightly behind me. Good system that, I should get one for myself.
That done with, I looked around my new surroundings, and as I did I couldn't help but whistle, both in awe and surprise, "Incredible." I uttered with an astounded blink.
The inside of the massive dome was like that of a massive vivarium. Up above, artificial sunlight streamed down to the world below from a massive spherical construction that rotated slowly. I wasn't sure how though. Perhaps a machine that recreated Sunny Day? Well, that didn't really matter for the moment.
Or well...it did because I want that!
But it wasn't just, the entire place was incredible.
As far as my eye could see were dozens of roving areas of land all in different habitats.
A wide open grassy plain, a wide forest of trees filled with all manner of plant life and berry trees, even just from where I stand I can see an abundance of Oran Berry, Pecha Berry Trees, Cheri Berry trees and more for pokemon to snack upon. In the centre, I could see a massive lake, with multiple large streams wide enough for multiple Gyarados to swim through without issue spreading out across the massive dome vivarium. Small mountainous rocky areas filled with craggy plateaus, swampy marshes filled with murky pools, a small volcano like area and magma pool and even what looked cave system that led into the ground.
And all along the massive walls that made up the inside of the vivarium were all manner of natural terrain, ledges, small tunnels, burrows and such that pokemon could rest or live within easily.
And of course there were pokemon everywhere. A cluster of Nidoran and Nidorino were grazing atop one of the hills on the grassy plain, I could see dozens of flying pokemon like Spearow, pidgey, Pidgeotto and even a few Murkrow and Hoothoot. The most abundant were the water types I could see within the massive lake habitat in the middle and the streams branching out from it.
Huh, neat.
"...Where the hell are my pokemon though?" I wondered. I mean, I could see a few pokemon I had species wise, but I don't actually see any of my specific pokemon.
I'd definitely know if I saw them.
...Most of them.
Some of them I've not exactly interacted with yet.

Alright here we are finally back with this as well I suppose. Chapter 45 or 46 I think?
Well whatever, not really a lot to say about this chapter. All the pokemon were transferred over to luxury balls and Aerodactyl got to meet Altaria, failed like a chump and got a pep talk that didn't quite hit dead centre yet.
As always if you wanna read my stories in advance they go up on the Pa-atreon first, there's advanced chapters for Systematic Shinobi, Systematic Shinobi Multiverse Mayhem and a few othres, and I'll be working on this, Jordinio Version tonight.
Anyway, again, shameless Pa-atreon plug. I've got one, go by the same username on there, easy to find and all that jazz. Support me if you want, it'd be swell, but don't feel pressured lads and ladies, I'll be uploading my stuff outside it regardless and not keeping it all behind a paywall or anything like that.
