Alright, here we are back again boys, girls, probably really only boys...probably. Whatever, doesn't matter, because we have returned to break the big ol' fifty chapter milestone. Yaaay. Boomshakalaka.

Standard opening here to let you guys know, If you want to read ahead in advance, with the Big P fucking me over, you'll need to head over to my subscribestar. You can find it under 0jordinio0, no spaces in their search bar, simple enough. There's a bunch of advanced chapters up there already. A few for this, The Scaped(which isn't up here yet, Systematic Shinobi, Beyond Critical, Systematic Shinobi: Multiverse Mayhem, Dragon Tale, A failed Future(another one not up here yet), Systematic Huntsman, Stacking The Deck, Power, A Scottish Dragon In This Wonderful World, Bleached Invader...and a bunch more shit, just updated Beyond Critical again on there earlier. Bit behind on the updates mind you, got five on the backlog to do for Systematic Shinobi.

And now is a pretty good time for it at the start of the month. After all, once I get up in the morning I'm going to be throwing a poll up to decide on what I'll be working on for this month exclusively. 1st place gets 5 updates, 2nd place gets 3 updates, 3rd place gets 2 and both 4th and 5th place get 1 apiece. So if there's anything specific of my stories you want me to work on, that's your chance to make it happen. Granted, the 5 systematic shinobi updates are carrying over to the next month...but that is mostly cuz this poll is a new thing, and last months I didn't make until halfway through the month and missed a bunch of days after that cuz of getting sick for a few days. Man...it's gonna be Systematic Shinobi that wins first place again this month ain';t it? Gonna end up doing 10 updates for it this month. I better stock up on monster.

And beyond that, if you just wanna toss cash my way for whatever reason, I've got a Ko-fi simply at /Jordoz.

Anyhoo, let's get on with the big ol' chapter 50!

"Regice. Gender: None. Ability: Ice Body. Height: 15'04. Weight: 2108 pounds. Attacks Known: Explosion, Icy Wind, Charge Beam, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Hammer Arm, Focus Punch, Hail, Hyper Beam, Rest, Lock On, Zap Cannon, Earthquake, Ancient Power. Data indicates Regice has no preference for short or long range combat and is proficient in both practices. Though, data does indicate Regice excels in battles of attrition."

Well, that was something already. I stared at Rotom Gauntlet whom had just relayed the abilities of my new Regice to me. I wet my lips, cocking my head to the side and nodding.

Yep, it was super lucky I jumped Regice. Beyond that whole slew of powerful attacks, if it got Hail up, it would recover passively. And then it would have rest as well. And with how tanky it was….

And Lock on was scary. As soon as it used it, its attacks would follow the target, even if they dodged like heat seeker missiles.

I shuddered at the thought of that with it using Hyper Beam. Or worse, explosion.

"Tor…!" a happy groan of relief drew my attention from my gauntlet, I looked over towards the pokemon I currently had out. We were back outside the ancient building where I caught Regice, I sat atop the stairs, while to my side Charizard rested happily and proudly, being the one to finish off Regice and all.

At the bottom of the stairs, both Exeggutor and Golem sat, Blissey between them both as she released the ethereal pink energy of Heal Pulse over their bodies.

They were already more or less, full recovered. A testament to their endurance and durability, and of course Blissey's highly potent Heal Pulse. She was very experienced with it.

She used it every day, dozens of times, multiple times a day after all. And ever since she evolved, not only had her stamina increased massively, but so too had the potency of her heal pulse.

"Doing alright lads?" I called over.

They looked over, Exeggutor gave blinks of six eyes, before just happily chanting his name, wiggling his head back and forth. He was just a happy, chill guy I suppose.

"Golem!" Golem on the other hand, flashed me a full thumbs up and beamed, eye smiles and all, big wide grin on his face.

He had been very happy ever since he woke up when I let him back out of his ball to get healed. He had taken me sending him back to the Pokemon Centre pretty hard after he lost to Surge's Alolan Golem, and threw himself into training. And it definitely showed. But mostly, he was just very proud of himself for being the one to launch the opening salvo on a legendary pokemon, and debatably, dealt the most damage.

Regice might have blocked that Brick Break, but it still took the hit. Flamethrower, Brick Break, then a point blank explosion?

He did very well.

I flashed a thumbs up back, before standing up, stretching my arms out and hopping down the stairs.

"Alright then, if you guys are good, I'll leave you out for now just in case," I said, "To be honest, I'm not really expecting any problems from Regice, Tyranitar might be another story."

"Bliss, bliss." Blissey waved her stubby hands airily, waving it off as not a problem, while Exeggutor just gave me a trio of grins.

Golem stood, nodding eagerly, while Charizard gave a rumble as he stood up from where he was laying on the stairs and stomped his way down the steps with a single nod, coming to a stop beside me and crossing his arms.

Menacingly.

Charizard was a big guy after all. No less in stature than Tyranitar, though both were a bit dwarfed by Regice.

Alright then.

In that case, I'd start with whom should be the easier of the two. I grinned, "Rotom, Regice's ball please." I said.

"Roger." Rotom replied, and a moment later the gleaming luxury ball containing my newest capture and first legendary pokemon popped into my palm.

Hmm, actually, now that I think about it. People are probably going wild again after seeing my newest addition to my trainer page.

…I think I'll not contact anyone like say, Lance or Nurse Joy unless they call me first.

Yep yep, that sounds like a plan.

I nodded at my own genies before holding the ball up, "Come on out, Regice." I said, before releasing the legendary beast within.

…Actually, that is three legendary dogs nickname right?

Oh well.

In a burst of bright silvery light, Regice's towering robust icy blue form appeared in front of us. It was covered in wounds, and there was a sickly purple glow seeping off its form from where Exeggutor poisoned it earlier.

Despite that, it stood tall.

Silent.

…Completely silent. And just stared at me, my pokemon around me tense and ready to jump into action at any moment.

The sad thing was though, that wouldn't happen at all. Because Regice? And all the Regi's actually, were more like automatons given life and their purpose, was to follow orders.

And now that I had captured it, it would just obey me and any order I gave.

I flicked my tongue over my teeth at the thought, it rankled me. The Regi as a whole, basically didn't have free will. Or at least had been used as such for so long, such a thing was just instinct to them now.

"Hey Regice, I'm Jord, and I'm your new trainer," I introduced myself, stepping forward and looking up into its six yellow dot eyes, "Nice to meet you."

It didn't move at all, but its yellow dot eyes did light up slightly, "Dododon." a humming, vibrating 'don' sound escaped it,

And that was that.

I won't lie, I'm actually a little disappointed.

I don't like that.

I don't like it at all. It was amazing to see how my pokemon expressed themselves, all their little ticks and traits.

Regice was just blank.

…Can I do something about that?

I can try I suppose.

I nodded, before turning to Blissey, "Hey girl, can you heal Regice with Aromatherapy and Heal Pulse?" I asked her.

Blissey who I noticed had an almost dismayed look upon her face at the reaction of Regice, or lack thereof, nodded and stepped forward, a determined look upon her face, "Bliss!"

It didn't take long for Blissey to completely heal Regice back to full health, and before long, his...its body was a bright shining gleaming icy blue once more, no wounds or status effects hindering it at all.

While she healed it, I tried to think of a way to help it, but, as expected, nothing came to mind in only a few minutes.

…There would no simple solution to dealing with a hundreds of years old problem. Though, I suppose at least I can start by letting it out of its ball, and ordering it to do what it wanted, or what came to mind? Follow any impulses it had?

It would be a start at least.

In that case-

With Regice healed, I returned all of my pokemon to their luxury balls, except Regice itself.

"Mind lending me a hand mate?" I asked the legendary ice type, the best place, would be asking, not ordering, and allowing for refusal, "You don't need to if you don't want to. Just that I captured a Tyranitar just before you, and need to meet him face to face outside of battle and settle things. I'd just like your help in case he attacks me."

For a few moments, Regice just stared at me blankly, and I began to get a little dismayed at the thought I really would need to order everything.

But then, slowly Regice inclined its huge ice pillar like head forward ever so slightly, "Dododon."

Well, alright then.

"Thanks mate." I pat it on its bulky icy arm, pausing as I noticed just how frigid its body felt. Odd, for how cold it was, I didn't feel any of that until I touched it. Some kind of genetic body field kind of thing that kept its body temperature locked to it, to conserve any or something, maybe?

Putting that out of mind, I had Rotom spit out Tyranitar's shiny new ball into my palm, and then, I pressed the button in the middle and released the pseudo legendary contained within.

Tyranitar appeared before me, light dying down immediately to show off his behemothic, battered form.

He blinked sluggishly, before gaining focus as he saw me, his eyes narrowing at me,, "Rrrrrrr…" he gave a grumbling roar, before wincing.

And then huffing.

And giving me an expectant look.

Well, so far so good. He hadn't launched himself at me like Dragonite did at least. I wasn't looking forward to laying out another pseudo legendary on his ass.

"Bet you won't be underestimating small opponents much anymore huh?" I couldn't help but needle him just a little bit though.

Tyranitar's eye twitched, claws flexing-

Before he breathed out fully through his nose, spreading his arms wide and way higher in height than Servine was, and then pointing at me, and smirking with a shrug.

"It was technically three on one yes," I agreed, "You're pretty strong. What if I told you though, that Servine was one of my newest pokemon and I've barely trained her?"

Tyranitar reared back as if struck.

"Yup," I grinned, "I've got far stronger pokemon than her…like this guy." I jabbed my finger over my shoulder at Regice.

Looming menacingly.

Tyrantar blinked, as if just realising Regice was actually there, before goggling and stepping back warily.

Hmm, yeah he was probably well aware of Regice huh?

"As you can see, I caught him too, it wasn't all that hard despite how incredibly strong Regice is," I boasted lightly, playing myself up, "How would you like me to make you just as strong as Regice. No, in fact, how would you like to become even stronger than he is now?"

I very much specified the 'now', because I for sure plan on Regice becoming stronger and stronger.

Tyranitar eyed Regice for a few moments, before turning to look at me sceptically.

"I mean, I caught Regice didn't I?" I shrugged in return. I didn't bother going into the fact that one on one, Regice would cream any pokemon I have right now, even Pidgeot or Altaria would lose. I can only estimate right now, but I'd say Regice while not on the level of Lance's Dragonite he started off our battle with, not that far off it either.

If I said Lance's weakest Dragonite was level two hundred and fifty, then Regice was level two hundred.

And Pidgeot would be around level ninety.

Of course levels aren't really a thing, but those are the estimates I would give them if they were.

Tyranitar eyed me dubiously for a few moments, before simply rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders and accepting.

"You're a suspicious guy huh? I respect that." I nodded, "Then since you're fine with this, pop a squat will you? I'll get those injuries of yours dealt with."

Tyranitar shrugged…before flopping down on his side in a lazy sprawl, the ground shaking as he did from his sheer weight, and propping his head up on one arm and yawning.

Well, okay then.

He was a lot more chill than my Dragonite at least.

With that said, I turned to Regice and pat his arm thankfully, "Cheers a bunch for your help big guy," I said, "It turned out you didn't need to do anything beyond stand there and look tough, but thank a bunch anyway."

Regice cocked its icy pillar head to the side as if examining me, before silently returning to its standing position and saying nothing or doing anything at all beyond that.

I withheld a sigh.

And to think, all the Regi's are going to be like this.

…Should I even catch them? Sure, their power would be incredible to add to my repertoire of pokemon, and would be a big big help in dealing with world ending shenanigans when, not if, they happen.

But…am I equipped and able enough to do something for them all? I'm struggling to picture even handling Regice and trying to breathe some life into it and give it meaning beyond orders.

Would I be better off just leaving them where they are?

But then…that might run the risk of others finding and capturing them. This world, isn't just the anime alone after all. I've noticed elements from the games and even the manga. I can't rely on my anime knowledge alone, that they'd still just be there after a time.

I mean, Brandon for instance is on the hunt for the Regi's specifically. He's an alright guy and all I suppose, but he only wants them because he wants to collect them as a history nut.

…Yeah, ironic and a bit hypocritical coming from me. But again, the only hypocrite I like is myself. And well, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf at least.

But, I'm not really sure if Brandon will be trying to give them the will to live beyond orders like I want to do with Regice.

…But could I handle doing it for five Regi's?

Like, I like myself a whole lot, and think I'm pretty awesome. But that might be beyond even my abilities.

Definitely something I'll need to think on before I leave Fennel Valley.

I sighed, sitting down cross legged in front of Regice…before remembering I needed to bring out Blissey to heal Tyranitar.

With how tough Tyranitar was, both in general strength and well…species, it wasn't long before he was healed back up into tip top shape by Blissey.

As it was, I returned both the pseudo legendary and my legendary healing angel - cuz she totally was - to their balls, and rested atop the stairs of the ancient building, lazily looking up into the clear blue skies above.

Standing at the base of the stairs, Regice was an ever watchful sentinel. I needed to think.

And he was decent company.

Didn't say much though.

…Or anything beyond 'dododon' when I asked something….when he deigned it a good enough thing to reply to, or needing a reply I suppose.

An hour had passed now since Tyranitar was healed, and in that time, my mind had been wandering, planning, questioning, backtracking, re-planning, procrastinating…almost falling asleep.

My mind had moved in circles, processing the situation around Regice and the other Regi's, and debating not only the pro's and cons of going after them and if I should.

But could I handle them?

And the answer I came to?

I don't know.

But…at the very least I can try. And, I'll have plenty of time to do it. I do have plans to become immortal after all.

Or well, un-aging at least. Eternal youth? A store of life force that simulates such a thing?

Something along those lines.

Though, I suppose me going after them does depend on one thing. I turned my head and looked at the towering form of Regice at the bottom of the stares, who just stood there silently and staring at me, not having budged an inch.

It was weird…I'd found through trial and error so far, that Regice was 'guarding' me. That was basically, the Regi's purpose, guards who obeyed orders. And since I caught it, Regice's new self assigned purpose, was guarding me and obeying my orders.

"Hey, Regice." I spoke up, calling over to the massive ice type.

Regice remained silent, not moving at all, but its yellow eyes did light up ever so slightly, something I'd noticed it did to show it was paying attention.

"I'm thinking of going after your brethren," I replied, "Not Regigas, but I know where Regirock is, and the general area of Registeel. And I know where a Regielki and Regidrago are. Do you have any problems with that? Any reason why I shouldn't? If you don't want me to, I won't."

In the end, after everything, I delegated.

I left it all up to Regice.

Its eyes light up a little brighter, and then…in the most movement I'd seen of the legendary ice sentinel beyond the the battle where we jumped it silly, it lifted is massive blocky ice arms-

And shrugged, "Dododon."

Regice, either did not understand the question of why I was asking for permission for such a thing, or just didn't care.

Alright then, let me try a different approach then.

"Would you be fine battling them and helping me catch them?" I asked, "You don't need to if you don't want to." I stressed.

I stood up and hopped down the stairs to stand in front of him, looking up at his towering form that towered over me by a near factor of three, "But like you, they're very strong, and I only managed to beat you by getting the drop on you, and if we gave you time, you'd have recovered and outlasted us. So would you help me capture your friends as well?"

For a moment, Regice was still and silent, before its eyes lit up and it inclined its massive ice pillar head in a single nod, "Re…gice, Regigigice."

I blinked, before my eyes flew wide open at the exclamation of its name, like a normal pokemon! Its voice was vibrating and buzzing like someone humming with their teeth clicking together.

But that was definitely its name!

My jaw dropped and a smile spread across my face, well alright then!

"Rotom, can you translate?" I asked, looking to my gauntlet eagerly. I'd tried to get him to translate the 'Dododon's, but not even Rotom was capable of that. They apparently weren't a pokemon language that could be spoken by anything that wasn't another Regi.

"I can, not much to translate though," Rotom replied, "Regice simply said, that it has no issue with you capturing its brethren and has no issues in facing them in battle. Its tone is blank, with no emotion I might add. Though I detect, a hint of approval of some form? I cannot be sure though. Respect maybe? If nothing else I can easily infer the ancient king Regice once served, was a…what is the word you like to use? Ah yes, a right twat. So even for an emotionless thing like this, you are a far step up."

Oh…I got a little excited over nothing then huh? I thought there was more to it.

But well, it was definitely a start. Even a tiny hint of approval, was better than absolute nothing. And it gave me a little bit of hope, that for sure there was indeed emotion in that big icy body.

I grinned happily at Regice and pat it on his front, ignoring the biting cold that seeped into my fingers, "Thank you Regice," I told it truthfully, "And I didn't get the chance to say this yet, but welcome to the family, let's get along alright mate?"

"Dododon." Regice replied.

…Well, can't all be winners, "We'll get there mate, we'll get there." my patting turned consoling.

I held my hand out and had Rotom spit out Regice's luxury ball, "Alright mate, you take a test right now and relax inside your ball alright? I made sure to pay a lot of extra to make sure you and all my other pokemon could live in comfort when you're inside your balls." I smiled at it, before returning him to his ball.

"Well, that happened." I sighed, storing Regice's luxury ball away in my gauntlet.

You know, I thought when caught my first legendary, it would be much more hype. And well, don't get me wrong, I'm elated, excited even and very happy.

I just never imagined I'd be….what-

A therapist?

Basically yeah, the closest thing I could liken to, was becoming Regice's therapist to help him regain his emotions and live a good fulfilling life. And would be doing so with all the other Regi's.

Was this karma maybe?

If it is, it was totally deserved.

I did collect pokemon like I was the next gen Lawrence the third. I let my ego and arrogance get the better of me.

I forgot what pokemon, not the creatures in this world, but the entirety of this universe actually meant to me.

Though you'd think after dealing with Goh I'd have earned a little bit more of a better karma scale.

Maybe Goh was so shit, karma itself didn't want to even acknowledge he existed? In which case, fair enough karma.

Shaking my head, I put that out of mind for the moment. It was about time to get a move on.

My time table just got a lot busier for the day. I was planning on visiting Misty to give my female Wartortle to her, and give some stones to her, Ash and Brock, maybe chill with them a little bit and such, before going after Moltres and then leaving Kanto behind.

But now, I'm on the Regi hunt.

I wonder if I could even do it all today? Well, not the two in Galar, but Regirock and Registeel. I know where Regirock is, but Registeel I only know the vague area.

Perhaps Regice would know?

But yeah, even with Pidgeot's speed while flying, could I get from here to Pewter, catch Regirock, then over towards indigo from Viridian and find the ruin Registeel was in and catch it?

It would be tight for sure.

Hmm, actually, that gives me an idea.

I held out my hand and had Rotom deposit Exeggutor's luxury ball into my palm, and then in a burst of light I let the massive grass and psychic type out.

I almost winced in guilt when I saw that two of Exeggutor's heads were fast asleep, and the only one awake, gave me a sleepy, "Tor…!" in greeting.

He'd put some real work in earlier against Regice, however brief the battle had been, he'd expended a lot of energy.

"Tired buddy, sorry about bringing you out," I apologized, rubbing his side, feeling the bark-like quality of his body, "I was wondering, would you be able to teleport us back to Viridian City? In the battlefield outside the pokemon centre we did some training in?"

While training him to learn a bunch of attacks over the last few days, we'd paid multiple visits to said battle field.

Exeggutor gave a sleepy yawn, before nodding, "Exeg…u….tor." he replied, before his body began to glow.

The glow spread from him to me in the blink of an eye from where I was touching him, and a feeling of weightlessness spread through my body for a split moment.

And suddenly, I wasn't in Fennel Valley anymore, but the battlefield outside the Viridian City Pokemon Centre.

I blinked…and just stared.

That was my first time teleporting.

'So smooth.' I almost goggled, and would have for a little longer if Exeggutor didn't give another sleepy rumble at my side.

Quickly thanking him after shaking myself out of my stupor, I returned Exeggutor to his luxury ball, before storing it away in the gauntlet.

"It's too bad you can't learn teleport, huh Rotom?" I mused almost blankly, it was just so sudden to be here, I was still a little dazed to be honest, "I wouldn't need to bother Exeggutor and it would be incredible to use in a fight."

"But you'd have no problem bothering me!?" Rotom sounded like he was pouting.

"After the amount of times you zipped around like a lunatic over the last few days before that gauntlet arrived? Yes," I snorted, "But beyond that, doesn't that gauntlet have some super battery and energy generator thing that could power an entire building easily? Your own energy is amped by it now right?"

"Pfft, it's the principle of the matter, but yes, so what?" Rotom was definitely pouting now, somehow, "Either way, I am utterly incapable of learning teleport. But I do have a solution if you want to hear~" his voice became very sly all of a sudden, like a sleazy care salesman.

"Oh?" I raised a brow.

"Perhaps if you got those devilishly skilled and strong hands of yours on a Porygon, we could make it work, they can learn teleport according to my database," Rotom continued, all the while complimenting me suddenly. It made me blink actually, why would he be so gung ho for it? "There's plenty of space in this gauntlet for a porygon, and they can learn many many attacks I cannot. And of course, it would also boost the strength of the gauntlet, and my energy stores and processing power even further!"

Ah, he just wanted to boost his own power and other abilities he now had access to as the Rotom Gauntlet.

Wannabe sly little thing wasn't he?

I almost laughed at him trying to butter me up. 'Little wanker.' I thought fondly.

"I don't really have a problem with that, I just only know where two are, and they're already owned by someone else, so unless I can convince them to give me one, we're shit out of luck," I replied with a shrug, "Well, I suppose they might be getting sold at the Celadon Game Corner?"

They did in the games at least.

"I will check right away!" Rotom chirped back.

"You do that mate," I snorted, "First though, gimme Fearow's ball eh?" I said. May as well give Pidgeot a little rest as well, "No wait, in fact, give me Aerodactyl's."

I'd been leaving him to his own devices with Altaria the past few days, but I should take some time to bully check up on how he was doing. Maybe have a little heart to heart, give some advice where it was due and such things?
