Chapter 7: Red Hood/Frozen ideas
Summary:
What if Jason were Anna and Elsa's adopted brother? What would that look like? It would look like this chapter.
Notes:
A little context before you read this chapter, because this chapter is a little weird compared to other chapters. This chapter is just a series of notes that my Girlfriend and I bounced around when we were both working on Frozen fics. She stopped writing her, very well written in my opinion, Frozen fic because people kept shipping Anna and Else at least seventy-five percent of the time, and she didn't want to read that, but it was all people seemed to be posting with that one occasional golden egg. I lost my enthusiasm for writing Frozen shortly after because I didn't really have anyone to bounce ideas off, and people kept asking me not to rewrite Frozen with Jason as a Main Character because it had been overdone and was boring. So, these are my notes and ideas for that Frozen fic. Enjoy.
Fanfiction idea.
Anna and Elsa's dad had a brother. Willis Todd. Who dies and Jason is sent to his aunt and uncle who don't tell him that Elsa has ice powers. So as far as he knows Elsa is just an ice princess, no pun intended, so Anna has no one to play with, and Jason feels sorry for her. He does parkour and trains Anna, and he has a specific skill set. He teaches Anna his skills. Hans is Hans. And Jason is not happy. Not happy at all. Anna is being dragged by Jason as she is trying to stop him from murdering Hans. Jason does not forgive Elsa so easily after he finds out and tells her that all she needed was a hug that Anna could have easily given her. Elsa feels ashamed and begs for Anna's forgiveness. Anna easily forgives Elsa, because she's Anna. Jason gives Kristoff the big brother speech and then trains him to protect Anna from the Hans's of the world. He then drop kicks the Duke of Weaseltown into the ocean and threatens to tie an anchor to his feet next time he even thinks about hurting his sisters again. Emphasizing sisters.
Then someone would tell Elsa about the forest in frozen 2 and Jason kicks them out and tells Elsa not to do anything stupid.
Jason would solve so many issues with the movie.
Jason meets Hans.
Jason: For thousands of years, I lay dormant. Who dares... oh. Hey sis."
Anna: hey Jason.
Jason: this guy bothering you?
Hans: *shakes head and waves hands at Anna. *
Anna: yeah.
Jason: want I should take him for a spin?
Anna: sure.
Jason: *throws Hans into the lake.*
Hans would be unhappy.
And soaked.
yes. That too.
Then when he climbs out, Anna gets to punch him back in.
Yup. And Jason and Anna high five.
Hans is sputtering and Anna tells Jason what he said when he tried to kill her.
That will not end well for Hans.
Not at all.
How would Hans explain that one?
Hans: "Wait, no please ...!"
Basically, just more. "Guards! Take this pig to the dungeons. I'll be there shortly."
Hans would wish Jason had finished him off quickly.
Definitely. Anna would ask what he did to Hans after Jason came out of the dungeons. Jason would say: "what was necessary."
Yikes. Well deserved, but yikes.
Anna would later go to say: "Hans was a pale reflection of his former self. He wasn't much a person before, but now he is just a husk."
Elsa looks shocked that her brother could do something so horrible.
Anna: *shrugs* I'm not exactly happy about it either, but Jason is Jason. He does what he thinks is necessary. Just be glad he left Hans alive.
Elsa: if you can call that living.
Anna: He'll recover. Somewhat. Probably.
Elsa: he may have been a difficult human being...
Anna: He tried to kill both of us and told me I was worthless and unloved.
Elsa: what? *Shocked. *
Anna: Didn't I tell you that? I mean, I knew he was lying, Jason loves me a whole lot and he's proved that, but it still hurt.
Elsa: why didn't Jason kill him?
Anna: He said something about death being too kind. Then he started muttering something about a crow bar but stopped when he remembered I was still there.
Elsa: *looks shocked. Gulps. * "what's a crow bar?"
Anna: I'm not sure, but Jason seemed really interested in using one on Hans.
Elsa: did he have the same look in his face like when he has his bad days?
Anna: More like the medium bad days. You know, when he beats up training dummies and freaks out the newer guards before coming to find me so we can sit in the library together and eat chocolate.
Elsa: oh, thank goodness.
Anna: Yeah. But when I woke up this morning, he was standing by my bed glaring at the door, so there's a good chance he had a bad night. He only stalks me when he has really bad nightmares.
Elsa: oh no. We just got the dents out of the last suit of armor.
Anna: Umm, actually, that was me. I was sliding down the banister and I didn't stop in time. Sorry.
Elsa: why did I think it was Jason?
Anna: I don't know. I've dented a lot of armor over the years. And Jason always uses straw dummies for practice. And sometimes trees. Or walls if he gets really mad while he's inside.
Elsa: How has he not broken his arms?
Anna: He has. He taught me how to set and splint them so he wouldn't have to go to the doctor all the time.
Elsa: *looks shocked. *
Anna: I can put dislocated fingers, wrists, and shoulders back into socket too! I even popped his knee back once, although he still refuses to tell me how that happened.
Elsa: what else has he been teaching you?
Anna: *smiles brightly* Oh, lots of things! My favorite is knife throwing. It's so much fun! And sword fighting is pretty great too. And something he calls parkour. I love parkour! Even if I did break my wrist the first time.
Elsa: WHAT!
Anna: Yeah, I fell off the roof. It was okay though. Jason made me drink some weird tea that made it stop hurting when he set it, and then he made me hot chocolate and read to me.
Elsa: I think I'm going to have to talk to Jason about proper raising tactics.
Anna: Are you really gonna yell at him for something that happened when I was eight?
Elsa: WHAT!
Anna: *speaking loudly and clearly* Are you really going to yell at him for something that happened when I was eight?
Elsa: I heard you the first time, but why did he teach you to climb on rooftops at 8?
Anna: He taught me to climb on rooftops when I was seven. It took a year before my balance was good enough that he started teaching me how to run on roofs and jump off.
Elsa: WHAT!
Anna: Why do you keep saying what? You can hear me just fine.
Elsa: I'm worried about your past extracurricular activities.
Anna: Why? Jason always made sure I was okay.
Elsa: you got hurt!
Anna: That's just part of life. Everyone gets hurt sometimes. But Jason was always there to give me a hug and make me feel better.
Elsa: *shudders. *
Anna: What?
Elsa: Jason was there for you when I wasn't.
Anna: *slightly awkward* Well, yeah. But it's okay! I know now that you were just trying to protect me. I'm not mad! Not anymore! Well, I usually was more hurt than mad, but I'm not either anymore! Really!
Elsa: he was a better brother than I was a sister
Anna: You were both trying to do what you thought was best for me, that's all. It's just that your idea of what was best was staying far away, and Jason's was staying close and teaching me things.
Elsa: that doesn't make me feel better.
Anna: *hugs her*
Jason walks in, sees the sisters, tiptoes out. *
Anna: get in here Jason.
Jason: I don't want to interrupt a sister's moment.
Anna: group hug!
Jason: *gives Elsa a desperate look*
Elsa: *don't look at me. Whenever Anna gets an idea in her head there is no stopping her. *
Jason: Very true.
Olaf walks in.
Olaf: Yay! Warm hugs!
Jason: want to go throw knives?
Anna & Olaf: Yes!
Elsa: No!
Jason: I won't throw the knives at Olaf this time to make an outline of him, and I can teach you how to throw them as well Elsa. Who knows. Maybe it will be therapeutic.
Elsa: Please tell me you never used knives to make an outline of Anna when she was little.
Jason: no. I never had enough knives.
Elsa: *grabs Anna and hugs her to her chest* That's the only reason you didn't?!
Jason: pretty much. If it makes you feel any better, it was all Anna's idea.
Elsa: No, it doesn't. *Looks down at Anna* You are never leaving my sight again. Ever.
Jason: never blink again then.
Elsa: *freezes his feet to the ground*
Jason: I just meant that I taught Anna to disappear into thin air, and if you blink, she will be gone.
Elsa: *tightens her grip on Anna* If you ever disappear for more than two hours without telling me where you are going, I will create another giant snow golem whose only purpose is to find you and carry you back to me.
Jason: that's actually Olaf you're holding. Anna disappeared while I was telling you to keep an eye on her.
Anna: *mischievous cackle echoes through the room* Ultimate hide and seek! Bring it on!
Jason: Elsa's it. *Disappears into the shadows. *
Olaf: Do you want a buddy, or should I hide too?
Elsa: I am not playing this childish game. I am the queen. I have responsibilities to uphold.
Anna: *voice still echoing so Elsa can't tell where it's coming from* It's not like you have to find us right away. Our record for longest game of hide and seek is five weeks.
Elsa: "you both have to come out for food eventually, and I could always pass my turn to Olaf or Kristoff if I wanted to.
Anna: Oh, we've got food covered. Jason taught me how to survive off the forest. When I was ten, I didn't actually come back to the castle for nearly a year.
Elsa: WHAT! Why?
Anna: It was an experiment. I spied on Mama and Papa every now and then. I decided when they started looking for me, I would come back. They never actually realized I was gone, so after a year I gave up and came back anyway.
the sound of flesh connecting with stone could be heard along with swearing that Elsa barely recognized as Norwegian from the library."
Anna: "Jason? Did you break your arm again?"
Jason: Possibly. *Pauses for a moment* Definitely.
Anna: *swears in Norwegian. * I'll be over with the splint in a minute. And some pain killers. Do you need anything else?
Jason: No. And I don't need painkillers, Anna.
Anna: I get that your tough and all, but I am bringing you pain killers, and you will take them and like it or I will shove them down your throat Jason peter Todd!
Elsa: Anna!
Anna: what? He wasn't going to take his medicine. That is literally the only way that works. He knows when I put it in his food, so he won't eat the food I make him if he gets hurt.
Jason: She freaking spiked my hot chocolate! Who does that?!
Elsa: why must you both act like children?
Anna: Hey, this is on him. I don't even know why he got so mad. He already knew about the ghost experiment. He was there.
Jason: who in their right mind abandons their own daughter!
Anna: But you already broke your arm punching things because of that. At least a dozen times. You don't need to keep doing it.
Jason: I also wasn't the greatest influence.
Elsa: You think?
Jason: at least I was there for her! Unlike her parents and... *Jason cuts off as he realizes what he's about to say. *
Anna: Jason!
Olaf: Elsa? Why are you and the walls yelling at each other? And why is the guy wall insulting you, and the girl wall yelling at the guy wall? Are they mad at each other?
Elsa: It's Anna and Jason, Olaf. They are not walls, they're just really good at hiding. Apparently.
Olaf: why are you guys fighting? Did something bad happen? Is that why? Is Hans back. I'll go get Jason's Crowbars.
Elsa: You know about the crowbars?!
Olaf: yeah. I watched Jason clean them. For some reason there was a lot of blood on them. I'm not sure how Jason crowbars Hans = blood, but somehow it does. *Waddles away. *
Elsa: Jason! First you corrupt my baby sister, and now my snowman?
Jason: this may be a little to adult appropriate, but since you created Olaf. Does that make him your son?
the room begins to fill with frost*
Jason: Umm, is that a, no?
Olaf: I found the crowbars, but I lost my arms and had to use them to replace my arms.
Jason: And how is that working for you?
Olaf: I don't know. They aren't so good for hugs. They are better for ripping and hitting things. I don't really like them. I think I was made for cuddles and hugs.
Anna: *swings down from the ceiling and startles Elsa* Here, Olaf, I found your arms. You dropped them on the stairs.
Olaf: oh. Thank you. *Smiles and hugs Anna with actual arms. * By the way. You're it. Elsa had a plan to get you all along.
Anna: Think again. I taped a sign to Elsa's back when I came in. According to the rules of ultimate hide and seek, she's still it.
Jason: *hysterical laughter. Falls from the ceiling to the floor with an oomph. *
Anna: Ha! That means Jason is it! Wait no, crap. Your arm. Please tell me I don't need to reset it.
Jason: no, but if my self-diagnoses is correct. I bruised my tailbone, sprained my ankle, hyperextended my other wrist, and possibly have a concussion. What did the note you taped to Elsa's back say anyways?
Elsa: *pulls the sign off her back and reads it* "Hi Elsa! Whatever plan you have going with Olaf to win isn't going to work. I saw you tag him in, and this is me officially foiling your plan. Love you lots, Anna."
Jason: um. I know this is bad timing, but has anyone seen my crowbars?
Anna: Olaf is gluing button eyes and ribbon hair on them and giving them names.
Jason: *looks at her in horror. * I don't know how I feel about hitting people with crowbars named Bridget and Harriet.
Olaf: Bridget and Harriet don't like the idea either. But Milo and Sydney are fine with it.
Jason: *facepalms. * Ouch. I should not have done that.
Anna: Idiot.
Jason: I may have also hyperextended my elbow without realizing it.
Anna: Now will you take the painkillers?
Jason: no.
Anna: I will put them in a blow dart and shoot you in the butt.
Elsa: why do you refuse pain killers so much?
Jason: I don't need them.
Elsa: you just listed off a laundry list of things that even one of would make me cry out in pain. How are you functioning with all of them?
Jason: Practice.
Elsa: Practice? Practice at what?
Jason: Working through pain. Anna's pretty good at it too.
Elsa: no. Why do you need to work through pain? There are pain killers, so you don't have to an... did your say Anna is good at working through pain too. As in also?
Anna: Well yeah. I mean, I'm nowhere near Jason's level, and I hope I never will be, but I can take a lot. How do you think I managed while I was freezing? I don't want to make you feel guilty, but that was really painful.
Elsa: *flinches. * I'm afraid to ask, but. Just what is Jason's level of pain whatever it means to work through the pain?
Anna: When I was nine, we were playing in the forest when a tree fell and nearly hit me. Jason pushed me out of the way, but I still twisted my ankle really bad when I fell trying to move. He picked me up and carried me over two miles back to the castle. It wasn't until we were in my room, and he was wrapping my injuries that I realized his leg was broken.
Elsa: he walked more than two miles with a broken leg? How? How old was he, how did you get so, I'm hesitant to say good, but how did you get so good at working through pain?
Jason: I was thirteen. And you don't want to know.
Elsa: *gulps. * Does Anna know?
Jason: *shrugs* Parts of it.
Elsa: does it help Anna understand you better?
Jason: Yeah. She knows me better than anyone.
Elsa: I think that I should know too. Not as the queen, but as a concerned sister. But if I know these things and I am the Queen, I can help control rumors and the like.
Jason: We can work on it. I tell Anna things because I trust her. And I'm sorry, but we haven't built up that level of trust just yet.
Elsa: *flinches. *
Jason: I'm not trying to be mean, but it's going to take a while to build those bonds. You don't know me or Anna. We're basically strangers who share blood with you.
Anna: we don't blame you, Elsa. I blame mom and dad. If they hadn't told you to hide your powers, then maybe they would have realized what you really needed was just a hug.
Jason: I blame you a little bit, but only for not checking up on Anna at all during the three years you were technically her guardian after your parents died.
Anna: Jason! Even though you have a point Elsa did what she thought was best. Besides. I had you. You are technically the oldest at 25. The only reason you aren't king is because your father, mine and Elsa's uncle, was a Duke and not a king.
Jason: She's not the one who held you while you cried.
Anna: who held her when she cried? Who dried her tears whenever she woke up from a nightmare, probably one where she killed me. Who was there for her when she just needed a hug? I had you. Who did she have?
Jason: I'm not arguing that. Your parents made terrible decisions. They came from a place of love, but that does not erase the consequences.
Anna: that's true, but she had to suffer those consequences alone.
Jason: Anna, hug your sister.
Anna: *hugs Elsa with a strength Elsa had never felt before. *
Elsa: Anna. ... Need air.
Anna: no. You need cuddles and hugs.
Jason: Actually, she needs both.
Anna: and I am giving her both hugs and cuddles.
Jason: No, I mean she needs both cuddles and air.
Anna: oh. Sorry Elsa.
Elsa: It's alright. Goodness, Anna, you are a lot stronger than you look.
Anna: I'm not even close to as strong as Jason. He climbs the castle wall every morning before breakfast. I can't even climb the gate before I'm tired and Jason has to climb back down to me, put me on his back, and finish the climb, but I get stronger every day. Also, Jason has actually gotten into a bar fight with ten grown men because they said some very bad things about me.
Elsa: What did they say?
Jason: *clenches hands into fists. * Enough for me to break them over my knee. I don't remember what happened after they said it, but I remember waking up in the castle in my room with Anna in the corner crying because she thought I was dead.
Anna: It was really scary.
Elsa: *gulps. * Are they still alive?
Anna: If you tell her, do it when I'm not here. I don't want to know.
Jason: if you want to know, go to the farthest cell in the dungeons. You will have your answer.
Anna: I seriously recommend you don't go there.
Jason: I was a hot headed 17-year-old when I did that to them. I've tried to lock that part of me away from you and Anna, but a piece of it slipped out when I found out what Hans said to Anna. Even so. He only got a fraction of what they got.
Elsa: *cringes*
Olaf: *hugs Elsa. * Everything can be fixed with hugs and cuddles.
Anna: Broken bones can't, but they do make it better.
Jason: I should know better than anyone.
Anna: Yep.
Olaf: anyone but those ten guys in the dungeons that you beat into a bloody paste every day for a month straight.
Anna: How do you know about all this, Olaf?
Olaf: I overheard you and Jason talking about it one night. He was talking real weird like he couldn't talk really good, and he told you what he did, and how he didn't know what he should do because they deserved it for telling you that you should come up to their rooms and talking about you like you were a piece of meat. Or if Jason should just end their pathetically miserable lives like the livestock they were and how no one would miss such terrible people, and how he would be doing the kingdom a favor, and you all look horrified. Should I stop talking or keep going?
Jason & Anna: Stop talking.
Elsa: *looks horrified. * I'm not sure what's worse. The fact that you and Anna are so close that you can tell her who you tortured that day, or the fact that you were drunk and alone with her at the same time.
Anna: *shrugs* Well, it's not like I was drinking.
Jason: I was the only one drunk. I have too much respect for Anna, even if she's my cousin she's more like a sister than anything else. And I was drinking because I needed to vent. You want me drunk when I vent.
Anna: *nods in agreement*
Elsa: why should you be drunk when you vent?
Anna: Believe me, it's not pretty when he vents while sober.
Jason: drunk me won't go into a blood rage when I get worked up over something.
Anna: Told you.
Jason: I should rephrase that. I am less likely to go into a blood rage when drunk. The last time I did Anna wasn't around.
Anna: Was that how you dislocated your knee and broke both your arms at the same time?
Jason: no. That was when I decided to climb the castle wall in the middle of winter. That's how I shattered my wrist.
Elsa: Why on Earth would you climb the castle wall in the middle of winter?
Jason: to build endurance to the cold. I was in shorts and an undershirt. If you think that's the craziest thing I've ever done in winter, then you'd be wrong. I went swimming in the lake in the middle of winter to increase my lung capacity, and cold endurance as well.
Anna: I remember that one. I stood on the shore chanting "Swim Mr. Penguin, swim." It was funny.
Jason: I increased my lung capacity to 30 minutes, and now I can walk around in a blizzard in a pair of shorts and an undershirt. I also found a couple of blades under the water. I brought the up, cleaned them up, and wear them as part of my royal ensemble.
Elsa: I am getting more and more frightened about what you have been teaching my baby sister over the years.
Jason: you probably don't want to know about the bear wrestling then.
Elsa: WHAT?! *Pulls Anna into her arms and glares at Jason*
Jason: Anna only watched. I had the entire situation under control the whole time. Except for when the bear smashed me against a tree and chased after Anna till, I was able to snap back to reality.
Anna: Elsa? You're kinda squishing me. I'm happy with the hug, but Jason was right about air.
Elsa: YOU ALMOST GOT EATEN BY A GIANT BEAR!
Anna: Almost. Meaning I didn't. Although I'll admit, I still get nightmares about that one.
Elsa: MY POINT EXACTLY. NO MORE DISAPPEARING. NO MORE DANGER. NO MORE ANYTHING BUT SAFETY!
Anna: I'm not a little girl anymore, Elsa. And even when I was, I could get out of a locked room when I wanted to.
Jason: she was able to pick any lock in under a minute. You could freeze her door shut, and she would be able to escape.
Elsa: *glares at him* Why would you teach a small child how to pick a lock?
Jason: because she wanted to learn. I figured "how bad could it be." I haven't regretted it yet. It helped her get out of the room that Hans trapped her in and get to me when he... *clenches fists in rage. * ...when he said 'if only there was someone who loved you.' *Whispers under breath* "I'm going to go talk to him about that."
Anna: You already did. Several times, according to Olaf.
Elsa: what? Who are you talking to?
Jason: *snarling* Hans.
Elsa: oh. Is he going to be okay? Or is he going to hit Hans with the crowbars again?
Anna: He's probably going to hit Hand with a crowbar again. Are you going to let go of me anytime soon?
Elsa: are you and Jason going to wrestle bears or tigers or lions any time soon?
Anna: We have never wrestled any tigers or lions. Just bears and wolves.
Elsa: wolves hunt in packs.
Anna: I am very aware of that. There must have been at least a dozen of them.
Elsa: *facepalms. * Next, you'll be telling me that you know multiple forms of fighting.
Anna: Well, yeah.
Elsa: I WAS JOKING!
Anna: I wasn't.
Jason: Anna. Don't give your sister an aneurysm.
Anna: *looks up at Elsa* You're not letting go of me anytime soon, are you?
Elsa: no. Even if I have to trap you in an ice hamster ball to keep you safe.
Jason: I hope you remember to add air holes.
Anna: I relish the challenge. A giant hamster ball is just a challenge waiting to be broken.
Elsa: It is not a challenge. At all.
Jason: you kind of just challenged Anna to escape your giant hamster ball.
Elsa: I was not challenging her. I was warning her.
Jason: and Anna is taking your warning as a challenge.
Anna: It'll be fun!
Elsa: *facepalms. *
Anna: *smiles brightly at her*
Jason: this appears to be something that you two need to resolve together. So, I'm going to go sharpen my swords, knives, and crowbars.
Elsa: A crowbar is a blunt instrument. By definition, you don't sharpen it.
Jason: maybe you don't, but I do.
Anna: Don't bother. I've been asking him why for ten years and he'll never tell me.
Jason: I keep all of my tools and went in perfect working condition so I can use it to the best of its ability. A crowbar is so much more than a beating tool. You can also rip things with it.
Anna: *shudders* Don't remind me. I still have nightmares about that experience too.
Elsa turns until she's between Anna and Jason and pets Anna's hair*
Elsa: "what did you do with a crowbar to terrify our sister?"
Anna: *whimpers* You don't want to know. It was worse than the bear and the shark combined.
Elsa: when did you fight a shark?
Anna: *whimpers and hides her face in Elsa's shoulder. *
Elsa: *looks at Jason. * what's this about a shark?
Jason: *looks uncomfortable* There wasn't supposed to be any sharks in the water, or I swear I never would have left her alone.
Elsa: she was swimming in shark infested waters? Alone?
Jason: It was only one shark. And I didn't know. It was fresh water, for crying out loud. What self-respecting shark lives in fresh water?
Elsa: bull sharks can live in fresh water. Everyone knows that, and everyone knows they are more aggressive.
Jason: I, sadly, was not aware of that.
Elsa: did you at least hit it with your crowbars?
Jason: Of course I did.
Anna: if he was two seconds late, I'd be missing a limb.
Elsa: WHAT!
Jason: I only went to get the picnic lunch and when I came back Anna was swimming for her life from a shark fin. I threw one of my crowbars hitting it, grabbed my second one and made it want to go home and rethink its life.
Anna: It chased me because I cut my leg on a rock.
Elsa: why did you cut your leg?
Anna: It wasn't on purpose. I stepped on a sharp rock.
Jason: Elsa. Please don't wage war on rocks or sharks. You won't win in the long run.
Anna: Nope. Jason tried. It didn't work.
Elsa: what?
Jason: Don't ask. It was a really poorly thought-out plan. I mean, Anna could find the flaws in it, and she was five.
Elsa: you got attacked by a shark when you were five! *Looks at Jason. * How dare you put a five-year-old in harm's way by allowing her to swim with sharks!
Jason: For the last time, I didn't know there were sharks!
Elsa: you should have checked the water.
Jason: Okay, you've got me there. But Anna was fine.
Anna: excuse me. No. There are only a few types of freshwater sharks and the chances of one getting into the lake are astronomically high. Don't blame Jason for something he couldn't control.
Elsa: Whether or not there were sharks, letting a five-year old swim without supervision is incredibly irresponsible! You could have drowned, Anna!
Jason: I just went to grab lunch. I thought I'd be gone just a few minutes, but I see your point. It probably wouldn't help that at the age of five Anna was a very strong swimmer and could swim better than most adults.
Elsa: No. She was still just a baby. She could barely walk across a room without falling and hurting herself, and you left her alone in deep water.
Anna: if we are being honest, it wasn't until Jason left that I moved into deeper water. He made sure that I was in the shallow end.
Elsa: You were five. Back then even I knew better than to leave you alone near anything even remotely dangerous, and I was eight!
Anna: *looks sad. *
Elsa: No, Anna, it's nothing against you. All little kids are like that.
Anna: I'm just sad because you are mad at Jason when you could have been having fun with us at the lake. Jason has said it multiple times. All you needed was a hug when you got sad, and it would have been enough to keep your powers under control, but instead you kept yourself locked away, even after mom and dad died, and it led to the events of the coronation. If it hadn't been for Jason who knows how it could have turned out. But Jason was there for me, he made sure that I knew I was loved which helped with the frozen heart thing, he made sure that I knew how to pick locks so I could find him and get a warm hug to thaw, and he saved you from Hans because of his skill with blades, and crowbars. I don't like thinking about what could have happened.
Elsa: *looks down guiltily*
Anna: I'm not trying to be mean, but seriously. If Jason could have figured out that all you needed was a hug, why couldn't you?
Jason: Take a breath, Anna. You don't want to say something you might regret later.
Anna: oh, come on Jason. You are a great brother, but you are the type of brother who shows his baby sister how to fight and swear and hunt, you show your love through that, and yet you told me every day that all Elsa needed was a hug to help with her powers. *Takes a breath. * What if all I wanted was to hug my older sister?
Elsa: *hugs Anna tightly* Oh, Anna. *Pulls away and looks at Jason. * Wait, you taught her to swear?
Jason: sort of, Kind of. Yeah. She would ask what a word meant, and I would tell her. Then she started using the words, and it was too late to change it.
