Season 12 has ended and another poorly written one for Lucas Bouchard (IMO). My only goal is to write a story for Lucas with a happy ending. I didn't watch S12 but I did see some Lucas scenes. I have taken some of those ideas and incorporated them into this story. If you are interested in a story where Lucas gets a HEA this might be for you.

Jack meets Elizabeth before school starts. Their first meeting didn't go well. Will this drive them apart or draw them together?

Years ago, Nathan's sister gave him a journal hoping he would pour his heart into its pages. It never really took until he moved to Hope Valley and needed a way to manage his guilt associated with Jack's death. Thankfully, Nathan now has Elizabeth as a pair of listening ears, but there will naturally still be moments when his journal will be the best place to unload his thoughts.

After a terrible loss, Nathan is trying to put his family's lives back together, while still dealing with his own grief. With the help of friends, he begins to move forward but is determined to do it on his own, despite a promise that he made. Through trial and error, he learns to let others help him, and that sometimes terrible endings can lead to beautiful new beginnings.

This is a Jack and Elizabeth modern romance set in Chicago, Illinois. Jack is a cardiothoracic surgeon, and Elizabeth is a social services supervisor. But when they introduce themselves, things are not exactly what they seem. Will they get to the truth, and if they do, are they willing to put things aside and start over?

Picking up from where Season 12, episode 10 leaves off, this story watches Nathan and Elizabeth work their way through the struggles that threaten Elizabeth's son. Can the two survive this challenge and move further into their relationship? How can they find joy amid the fear of the unknown?

While the attraction is instantaneous, they know now is not the right time for them; they are both about to graduate and head out on their first assignment, not knowing where that could take them. Elizabeth Thatcher is an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician in Crystal Haven, having moved there from San Fransisco. She wanted a quieter life, and small town life. Nathan Grant is an emergency doctor who wants to get back to treating patients and away from the paperwork. Crystal Haven will allow him to be a hands on doctor, and see more of his family and maybe start his own.

This is the story of how Nathan rescued Little Jack and his visit to Fort Clay. He had to move on from Elizabeth and other new characters came into his life. They all avert catastrophe and they are forced to test how they feel now that we venture into season 9 and beyond. It's not going to be easy. I, along with the program's aim, try to arrive at a positive outcome for all of us.

This is a one shot story that begins begins in episode 10 of season 12 and ends at the end of episode 11. It is just my imagination of what might happen to our favorite blended family after seeing the preview and summaries of Episode 10 and 11. Please be kind, this is my first fanfiction.
