Chapter 15: Double talking

Right after the argument had taken place, Thomas flew furiously through the skies, trying to find a place where he could cool down.

Eventually, he found a branch near a pond. The place looked very isolated, and Thomas believed that no one could see him there.

After he landed, he kept panting heavily and angrily for about 10 to 15 minutes, thinking constantly about the slap that Jasmine had just given him. He

After about 20 minutes, he finally calmed down and as he did, he looked into the pond underneath him and saw his own reflection.

After about 50 second of simply staring to himself, a tear fell down his face into the water.

Then, Thomas started sobbing heavily. He could feel the weight of the pressure that was on him very clear.

This continued for about 10 minutes and unbeknownst to Thomas, 3 other birds landed on a branch about 15 meters from him. These were young birds who were looking for him: Carla, Bia and Tiago, his nieces and nephew.

"Alright, guys, we found him, I told you that we would find him quickly." Tiago said quietly.

"You spoke truth, little brother, how did you think he would be here?" Bia asked quietly.

"Well, sometimes Skye and I would come here to catch our breaths after a hard day of sporting." Tiago said quietly.

"Alright." Carla said. "Who's the one that would go first and encourage our uncle? Because I honestly don't dare it after what had happened this noon and evening."

Bia and Tiago hesitated. Even though they hadn't seen the true angry side of Thomas, they could only imagine what it would look like after hearing that awful story from Jasmine.

After a minute of quietness, Bia spoke up.

"How about we all do it together? Then it would show him that we all care about him as much." Bia said.

"Great idea, sis." Carla said.

"I too believe that is fine." Tiago replied.

The kids were about to go for their uncle, but then something happened that they didn't expect.

"You need me, Thomas…" Thomas said to himself in a very dark and demonic way.

The kids froze and Thomas his eyes widened for a moment, as if he was realizing what was happening.

"No…" Thomas quietly said to himself, but then his face once again turned to an evil look.

Thomas (in demonic way): "Or will arrogant pride end this miserable existence?"

Suddenly, Thomas fell on his knees, formed his wing into a fist and bumped with it on the branch.

"Shut up, demon!" Thomas said to himself, still panting a bit.

Then his other personality, Big Bad Thom spoke again.

Big Bad Thom: "You're a fool, Thomas. Without me, we both would have died that night."

The kids were looking horrified at what they were seeing. Bia the most and thought to herself: His other personality is taking a hold of him. I never thought it would be that bad. It's almost like he's being possessed.

Big Bad Thom: "Imprisoned within your flesh…"

Big bad Thom (in a more demonic way): "…is a power that mortals would kill for!"

Big Bad Thom: "Hate is a gift we share."

Big Bad Thom: "Thomas…"

There was a moment of quietness, before Big Bad Thom once again talked.

Big Bad Thom: "And with hatred…"

Thomas (normal voice): "…all things are possible."

Suddenly, Thomas let out a small but loud scream and he began banging his head multiple times against the tree he was on.

This was a complete shock for the kids, who were now really frightened at this point.

At some point, Thomas fell out of the tree and onto the ground right near the pond.

Thomas was panting heavily, but then he stood up and closed his eyes.

"You have your pain, Thomas." Big Bad Thom said demonically.

Big Bad Thom: "But your soul…"

"…belongs to me." Big Bad Thom said as he opened his eyes and looked into the pond. There, although imagining it, he saw that his eyes weren't green, but blood-red, like the ones of a Svaken. He also smiled evilly into the water.

From the tree behind him, the kids were extremely terrified at the sight of what they had just seen in a person where they all looked up too, especially Tiago.
