Chapter 22: A party night to remember
Sapphire woke up in the early hours of the day that the Carnival Show, although this would take place when it was evening and when darkness had fallen over the Amazon Rainforest.
As her vision became clear however, she saw that Eduardo was not present in the hollow.
hmm, he must have gone and search for food. Sapphire thought to herself.
Sapphire decided to wait for about 20 minutes, but then she began to get a bit worried that something might have happened to her husband.
She exited her hollow and saw that the area was dead silent, no spix macaws at all was present.
This gave sapphire an unnerving feeling as there would usually be some tribe members present in this part of the sanctuary.
"Hello?" Sapphire said.
No reply came.
"Anyone there?!" Sapphire now exclaimed.
Still nothing. But then suddenly, she heard a rustling in the leaves nearby.
She dashed into it and suddenly she heard something she wouldn't hear at all.
"SURPRISE!" Blu, Jewel, Eduardo, the kids and many more of her friend yelled.
Sapphire was a bit shocked at first, but then she saw that a small mountain of fruits was laying there and there were many decorations of different kinds of flowers and plants.
"One, two, three!" Blu said.
All: "Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Sapphire. Happy birthday to you!"
Tiago: "Hip-hip!"
All: "Hurray!"
Bia: "Hip-hip!"
All: "Hurray!"
Carla: "Hip-Hip!"
"HURRAY!" Everyone exclaimed in the loudest way they could.
Sapphire was in tears, in the 7 years that she was all alone in the jungle, she had mainly lost her awareness of time, and thus forgot about her birthday.
"Aw, you guys shouldn't have." Sapphire said happily and also with tears in her eyes.
"Why not, mom?" Jewel asked happily. "This is a day you should be proud of yourself."
Sapphire was hugged by all of her family members and many of her friends, including Mia, Arturo and Megeslav, who all wished her a happy birthday. Friends that she wasn't to close with, like Rafael, Nico and Pedro simply gave her a wing.
Later, she was even congratulated by Andor, Amalia, Willfried, Henrik, Astrid and Bruno, who wanted to let Eduardo hear that all Azuls had settled well in the eastern parts of the spix macaw tribe's territory and that they will be frugal with the food that is present there, much to Eduardo's pleasure.
The day went on with some dancing, chatting and eating fruits. During the chatting between birds, Pedro spoke to Willfried and congratulated him on the song 'Livin' La Vida Loca' that he and Thomas invented. Much to Willfried's pleasure. Jasmine suggested that she would not take part in that song, and it would instead be sung by Thomas and Willfried. Pedro and Nico saw that as an amazing idea and so did Thomas and Willfried, so that the duo would perform again just like old times.
As the noon was nearing its end, Eduardo stood next to his wife.
"Are you enjoying your day, Sapphie?" Eduardo asked.
"Every single part of it, Eddie." Sapphire replied happily.
"And there's going to be a lot more of fun when the evening and night is here." Eduardo said.
"Indeed, it will be." Sapphire said.
Sapphire then looked around at all the happy faces. She saw mostly children play and some animals were dancing with each other, and some were even preparing their singing for the night to come. Sapphire couldn't help but smile on such an amazing moment.
"This is going to be a party night to remember…" Sapphire said.
The evening eventually arrived. All the animals of the sanctuary, including Mia's scarlet macaw tribe and the Azul Clan, had gathered in one place where everyone was able to fit in. The atmosphere was filled with happy chatting and excitement. None were able to wait when the big moment was about to come.
Blu, Jewel, Bia and Tiago were amongst the few birds that were closest to the podium, for it was their oldest daughter, Carla, who would be the one to announce the opening of this year's Carnival Show inside the Amazon Sanctuary.
Eventually, after 15 minutes of waiting, when the sun was slowly setting, Carla and her Uncle Nico and Pedro popped up onto the natural stone stage.
"Good evening, Amazon!" Nico said loud and clearly.
There was an eruption of cheers as everyone welcomed the 3 greatest musical talents.
"Are ya'll ready to shake, flap and snap your wings?!" Pedro yelled loud and clear.
"YEAH!" the birds and other animals erupted.
"Well, then…" Carla said. "Put your paws, talons and wings together. Because tonight will be the second and also amazing Carnival show inside the Amazon rainforest! Last year we had 'Amazon Untamed' but give an applause this year to: 'THE ECHOES OF THE AMAZON'!"
The crowd erupted in a roar as they all knew the first song of the show was about to start. Blu, and Jewel couldn't be prouder of the work their eldest daughter had done in the past 2 weeks. The same could also be said for Bia and Tiago, who were amazed by all the work their older sister had done.
[Intro - Instrumental]
The rhythm starts with a soft beat of drums, mimicking the heartbeat of the jungle. The sound of distant waterfalls and chirping birds fade in, setting the scene. The lights of the fading sun reveal the lush green of the Amazon, with vibrant colors filling the stage.
(Nico steps forward, a feathered hat tilted to one side as he serenades the crowd with his charming voice.)
Oh, deep in the heart where the rivers flow,
A love like ours begins to grow.
The jungle whispers secrets in the night,
As the moon kisses leaves with soft, silver light.
(He winks at the audience, spreading his wings wide.)
Soaring high above the trees,

(He twirls around, his movements smooth and graceful. He also twirls around his bottle cap.)
(Carla steps forward, her wings gliding gracefully as she sings with poise.)
In the green embrace of this sacred place,
Where the sun and the forest dance in grace.

(She spins gently, her movements flowing like a river.)
Through the vines and the leaves, I find my way,
With every step, a dance we sway.
(She lifts her wings gracefully, twirling in a circle.)
(Pedro bursts onto the stage, full of energy, bouncing to the beat as he raps with flair.)
Yo, yo, the jungle's alive, feel the beat in your soul,
The Amazon's callin', time to take control!
From the highest canopy to the river's edge,
We're rockin' this Carnival, no need to hedge!
(He bobs his head, hyping up the crowd.)
With the beats so hot and the rhythm tight,
We'll keep it movin' till the morning light! Ah-Ah!
(He slides across the stage, wings flapping in rhythm.)
(A chorus of animals joins in, each adding their unique voices to the mix, creating a rich harmony.)
From the toucan's call to the jaguar's roar,
The Amazon speaks, we can't ignore!
The rivers hum, the leaves all sing,
In this jungle, we're the kings and queens!
(They move in unison, their wings and bodies swaying to the rhythm.)
Through the night, we'll dance and play,
Echoes of the Amazon lead the way!
(The animals form a circle, moving in sync, their voices rising together.)
(The music swells, and all the performers come together in a vibrant, harmonious finale.)

In this Carnival, we can't be beat!

We'll celebrate the jungle, one vine at a time!
(They all spin together, wings outstretched, filling the stage with color and energy.)

(The lights flash, and the music hits a powerful crescendo, leaving the audience cheering for more.)
The music slowly fades, leaving the echo of drums and jungle sounds as the performers strike their final poses, setting the stage for the rest of the Carnival show.
The birds and other animals that didn't sing along, erupted in a roar of cheers and clapped their wings in the loudest way possible.
"That's my Carla!" Jewel exclaimed from the front, complementing his oldest daughter.
"Way to go, sweetie!" Blu yelled.
"Way to go, sis and Uncle Nico and Pedro!" Bia and Tiago exclaimed in unison.
Carla spoke up again and said: "And this, birds and other animals of the Amazon is only the beginning of this wonderous evening and night! Now to the other performers!"
The evening turned quickly into a night as countless birds and other animals performed their respective songs and dances. Birds were twanging on twigs and some in the mouths of caimans, monkeys were dancing on turtles or using them as bongos, the Amazon River Dolphins squaked in symphony, etc.
Eventually, it was the turn of Eduardo and Sapphire to sing the love song 'Wings of Love' in front of all the animals.
As they took to the stone podium and looked to everyone, the crowd went completely silent, with Mia and Arturo looking proudly at the woman who had raised them during their childhood in Peru.
(The romantic music begins to play.)
Verse 1 (Eduardo):
In the moonlight's gentle glow, we found our way,
(He extends a wing towards Sapphire, stepping closer.)
Through the whispers of the night, we learned to say.
(He twirls gently, his eyes never leaving hers.)

the crowd once again erupted in a roar of cheers and whistles, their wings clapping as loudly as possible.
"That was an amazing song performance the two of you did there!" Mia exclaimed happily. "I especially liked the spins you made, Sapph."
Sapphire was touched and said: "Aw thank you, Mia."
"I too, like the way you two dance. You still got quite some moves in your body, Eddie." a voice said.
"Felipe." Eduardo said a bit surprised.
"You heard, me right, Eddie, you two truly danced well." Felipe complimented.
"Thank you very much Felipe, do you also have a song?"
"No, I came here to make an announcement to my tribe and also Mia, Arturo, Megeslav and their tribe."
The crowd went silent, curiously and attentively hearing what Felipe was about to say.
"Scarlet macaws of my tribe." Felipe began, loud and clear. "After thinking a lot about it, me and the other most powerful members of my tribe have agreed on something."
He paused, making the curiosity of all the birds and animals even higher.
"We have decided that Mia and her tribe would be able to stay at the northern parts of our tribe's territory." Felipe said. "And by staying there, I truly mean that they can stay there permanently."
Mia gasped in wonder, Arturo's mouth fell open and Megeslav's eyes widened.
There was a silence amongst all the birds, until suddenly one scarlet macaw from Felipe's tribe happily yelled: "I told you that the other scarlet macaw tribe would stay!"
Suddenly, there was a roar of excitement amongst all the scarlet macaws, with many of Mia's tribe hugging the ones of Felipe's tribe.
Felipe smiled at they and then looked at Mia.
"Do you like the news, Mia?" Felipe asked, a bit nervous while looking at her.
Mia was in tears of happiness and instead of saying something, she launched herself at Felipe and hugged him tightly, making the crow in awe.
"Thank you, Felipe." Mia said with a sigh and with tears rolling down her face. "After years of trying to find a good home, with many birds not accepting our presence, we can finally stop flying and lay down our roots. Thank you."
Felipe smiled and hugged her back.
"It's alright, Mia, it's alright." Felipe said whilst looking at Sapphire and Eduardo, who both smiled.
Then, Arturo broke the silence and with a happy smile he said: "To be honest, Felipe, I was kinda expecting you to say that in one of these days, I just didn't truly know when."
"Did you?" Felipe asked surprised.
"Oh, my brother can sometimes predict things days prior, Felipe." Mia said happily as she loosened her hug.
"I too am happy with this decision, Felipe." Megeslav said. "Spasibo."
Felipe raised his eyebrows and asked: "And that means?"
"It's 'thank you' in Russian."
This made Felipe smile again.
"To be honest, Felipe, I was also expecting this announcement from you a bit, though not as much as my brother. And because of that, me, Arturo, Megeslav and many of my tribe members have practiced a song from it in secret yesterday." Mia said.
"Did, you?!" Sapphire said astounded.
"Oh, yes we did, and we still know every note of it, DON'T WE ALL?!" Arturo happily yelled at his sister's tribe.
"YES!" Everyone said, whilst Megeslav said "Da!" (means "yes" in Russian).
"I wanna hear what this song is about!" Carla said happily.
"Yeah, us to." Pedro said smoothly.
"I too am curious what you've been practicing." Rafael said happily.
"Alright then." Mia said, before turning to her tribe. "Everyone! Come on, let us sing the song we've been practicing. Everyone in their positions!"
Mia's tribe did as they were commanded to do and took their positions.
"This song is called Nuestro Nuevo Hogar, Our New Home." Mia said.
Everyone listened attentively.

The song begins with the soft strumming of a guitar sound, mixed with the sounds of the jungle - a gentle breeze through the leaves, the distant call of a jaguar, and the fluttering of wings. The music carries a warm, yet melancholic tone, evoking both the beauty and the challenges of the journey.

Once more, the crowd erupted into a loud applause, with Sapphire having tears in her eyes for the beauty of their song.
"That was wonderous, Mia, your voice was like the one of an angel." Sapphire complimented to Mia.
"Thank you, Sapph." Mia said. "I'm glad you liked it."
"And you, two." Sapphire said, looking at Arturo and Megeslav. "You, Arturo, your voice was so softspoken and reassuring, whilst your voice, Meg, was deep and yet full of emotions of your past."
The two males blushed, whilst also looking a bit proud.
The Carnival show continued with lots of birds performing and singing.
Meanwhile, in the crowd, Renaldo was dancing with Carla, Bia with Miguel and Tiago with Skye. Renaldo' and Carla's moves were stylish and smooth, Bia's and Miguel's moves were slower and steady (depending on the songs), whilst Tiago's and Skye's movements were wild and frenzied.
They were soon joined by 3 other spix macaws that hadn't seen Bia's, Carla's and Tiago's love interests: Henrik, Bruno and Astrid.
"Hey, guys!" Astrid said.
"Oh, hello there, Astrid, Henrik and Bruno." Carla said. "Please, meet my boyfriend, Renaldo."
Renaldo bowed towards the 3 Azuls and said: "Pleasure to meet the 2 sons and 1 daughter of the leaders of the Azuls."
Bia: "And this is my boyfriend, named Miguel."
Miguel (modestly): "Hi, there, it's a pleasure to meet you three."
Tiago: "And this is my girlfriend, Skye."
Skye (coolly): "Yo, what's up you three?"
The 9 birds talked with each other as birds of all kinds danced and singed around them. Suddenly, Henrik stepped a bit behind and bumped into someone.
"Oh, sorry didn't see you there." Hernik said.
But as he turned around, they all saw the angry face of Antonio.
"Don't you have any eyes?" Antionio said with an angry voice.
"Whoa, there, I said I was sorry." Henrik said.
"Don't mind him, Henrik. That's Antonio and he's the biggest jerk in both the spix macaw and scarlet macaw tribes." Tiago said whilst coming forth and glaring at Antonio.
"Watch it, shrimp" Antonio snarled, but then Bruno bumped his beak against Antonio and glared at him.
"Don't you ever insult my brother, any Azul or any of our distant kin again." Bruno snarled.
"Or else what, Azul?" Antonio snarled back.
"Toni, please, not tonight." said the voice of a girl behind him.
Antonio's face went from an angry one to a more frightened one and looked around.
"Oh, uh, Maya, didn't see you there." Antonio said nervously.
"Come on, Toni, let's dance." Maya said.
"Yeah, go to her Toni" Tiago teased.
Antonio felt defeated and obliged to Maya's wishes, but not before turning around and saying: "This ain't over."
And with that, Antonio disappeared in the crowd.
"Has he always been like that?" Astrid asked.
"Ever since we first met him about a year ago." Carla said, rolling her eyes.
And after some more dancing and singing, it was finally the turn of the Azul Clan to sing their songs.
Thomas, Jasmine, Andor, Amalia, Wilfried, Henrik, Astrid and Bruno took to the stone podium, whilst many Azuls took their positions.
"Alright, people." Thomas said loud and clear. "Many of you still remember how Jasmine and I sang in a completely different type of language, right?"
There was muttering of agreement and birds were nodding their heads.
Thomas: "Well, all of you then know what the English version is. But we're still going to sing the English version afterwards, since some didn't hear it, especially Mia's scarlet macaw tribe."
Jasmine: "And now the song will even be better, since we have the Azul Clan to sing along and music that they could make, so we don't have to imagine it!"
The crowd erupted once more in a roar of excitement and with that, the song Óðal began.
(The music began to play, followed by the drumming of many Azuls on branches and against trees. Everyone in the crowd paid close attention and was silent. After 47 seconds the children of the Azul Clan began to sing)

(After that, the drums and horns (the Azul clan made those themselves) of the Azul clan sounded into the entire part of rainforest. This was much more beautiful than that Jasmine and Thomas simply danced without music and made everyone imagine it.

Once again, the crowd erupted into a loud applause and a roar of excitement. This also happened after they sang the English version once more, now making the ones who didn't hear it before, understand what they had been singing, particularly Mia's tribe.
Then it was time for the second song Helvegen.
(The music began, with some slow but heavy drumming in the beginning, until Jasmine broke the silence.)
Jasmine (elegantly):

(Jasmine stands at the center of the stage, wings folded, her eyes closed. As she starts singing, she gracefully lifts her wings, creating an aura of elegance.)

(She slowly opens her eyes, her wings slightly raised as if preparing for flight.)
Jasmine and Amalia:

(They both take a gentle step forward, their movements fluid and graceful.)

(They spread their wings slightly, as if feeling the weight of the journey.)

(They place a wing over their hearts, their expression one of deep emotion.)
All Azuls:

(They slowly lower their wings, looking serene and peaceful.)

(This time most of the Azuls made elegant moves, as the music was now clear that it were drums and some horns sounding.)
All Azuls:

(They stand close, wings wrapped around each other, looking towards the horizon.)

(They separate slightly, looking into each other's eyes.)

(They take each other's wing and walk in a circle, creating a sense of unity.)

(They lift their wings high, standing tall.)

(With now drumming music and some horns sounding, the music was all the clearer as the Azuls finished their last elegant dancing movements.)
Once more, the crowd erupted into a load roar and the same happened after the English version had been sung.
Nico stepped forward and said: "You Azuls truly have a taste for music, even if it is a completely different language."
"Thank you, Nico." Amalia said.
"Wait, a second." Carla said. "Didn't you, Auntie Jassie went to sing a third song with miss Amalia and Uncle Tommy and Willfried making vocalizations?"
Jasmine bumped her wing against her head and said: "Of course! Norupo, remember that you suggested that, Amalia?"
"How could I forget?" Amalia said.
"Alright, you four." Get into your positions then, Pedro said.
Thomas, Jasmine, Amalia and Willfried did as they were told. Amalia and Jasmine to to the front, whilst Thomas and Willfried stayed in the back.
(The music began with some drumming, then Jasmine began to sing, whilst Thomas and Willfried made some 'wild' noises.)
Jasmine:

(The song ends with Thomas and Willfried making some wild noises.)
The crowd was silent at first, then suddenly erupted once more into a roar of excitement and this happened exactly the same after they had sung the song in English.
"Wow, you two really are an AMAZING duo, alongside Thom and Will, making the vocalizations for this song." Nico commented happily.
"Yeah." Carla said excitingly. "I can't wait for you, Auntie Jassie, to teach me every bit of it."
Everyone noticed that it was already getting very late into the night and most of the songs had already been sung by everyone.
Nico then spoke up as Carla, Pedro and Renaldo came forth to the podium.
"Alright everyone, before we get into the grand finale of tonight, we're gonna sing one more hit" Nico said.
"Oh, yeah, the four of us have been thinking about this many days and we came up with the idea to sing the song that my mom and dad heard the first time they were in the samba club: 'Hot Wings'!
Everyone gasped and looked at Blu and Jewel. Jewel smiled, whilst Blu smiled nervously.
Rafael chuckled and said: "Memories, Blu?"
"Oh, yeah, wonderful ones, until those marmosets ruined everything."
(Music starts)
Pedro (excited): "Ya-ya-ya-ya! Everybody put their wings together and clap them as loud as you can. Falp 'em, Calp 'em, I don't care, slap 'em! (squaks)"
Renaldo:

(Nico, Pedro Carla and Renaldo beat their wings on different things, making a drumming sound.)

Oh yeah, you're right, so let me fly just like a rocket, then (Perdo: okay!)
(Pedro hits the stick where Nico stood on, making him go into the air.)

(Meanwhile, Jasmine and Mia were dancing next to each other the way Jewel danced before Blu years ago. The female's movements caught the attention of both Roberto and Felipe, who were simply staring at Jasmine (Roberto) and Mia (Felipe). Thomas seemed to notice this.
You dance fast, but I dance fasta, fasta, fasta, fasta, fasta
"Hey, you two truly seem into them, I assume." Thomas said smoothly as he popped between Roberto and Felipe.
"What do you mean by that, Thomas?" Roberto asked confused.
"Yeah, have you been listening?" Felipe asked.
You too slow, you need to catch up, you can dance and dance if you wanna...
Thomas: "Nope. I've been paying close attention."
Mia and Jasmine were still making elegant movements.
"Go, on you two, impress them." Thomas said as he pushed both Felipe and Roberto.
Nico, Pedro, Carla and Renaldo:

(Roberto bumped into Jasmine, whilst Felipe bumped into Mia.)

(They were all surprised at first, but then Mia and Jasmine smiled towards the male that they were facing.)

(Then, Jasmine began to dance elegantly, with Mia following her lead directly.)

(Roberto and Felipe both began to dance towards their female counterparts.)

(Their movements became one as they now danced as one.)

(The 4 macaws made a spin around each other, with Felipe holding Mia's wing, whilst Roberto held Jasmine's wing. Both females gave a chuckle.)

(Thomas then gave a smug grin and nodded to himself that it had worked. All the birds were dancing wildly, with Jewel and Blu now joining Jasmine, Mia, Roberto and Felipe)

(At this moment, Blu spun Jewel, Roberto spun Jasmine and Felipe spun Mia and each of the males threw their female partner into the air, making the females fly like angels.)

(Jewel, Jasmine and Mia all sang at the same time, whilst the 3 males looked with pure love in their eyes at their angels.)

Blu and Jewel stared at each other once again, now knowing fully well that nothing could stop them from kissing each other. Jasmine and Roberto looked into each other's eyes, clearly feeling affection for each other. The same was also with Mia and Felipe. They all came closer to each other, readying themselves for the romantic moment.

Then, suddenly at the podium, a loud crashing was heard and everyone stopped singing expect for Tiago and Skye.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey!" Tiago and Skye sang, but then saw that everyone had stopped as well.
The crowd murmured what just had happened.
When Blu, his family and his friends came to the podium they saw a spix macaw breathing heavily on the floor.
"Ah, great." Jewel said, rolling her eyes. "Another perfect moment ruined by someone 'crashing the party', literally."
"Wait a second." Andor said. "That's Björn! The scout I send westwards to find us a new location to stay at!"
Everyone gasped. Did this scout already return in 2 days time?
