Episode 75: Love, Petalburg Style!
Today, Mew and her friends have reach their destination, and May and Max are excited about it.
"Look, Max, Petalburg City!" May happily says.
Then Max says with a smile, "We finally made it!
"It feels like forever since we've been home," May says.
It's a special homecoming for May and Max for finally arriving in their hometown, Petalburg City. As for Mew, it will be her fifth gym battle. The gang walks down the streets of the city and are checking out the site as they plan to head to the gym.
"Check out all the new stores," May says. Then May notices a poster, "Hey look, there's dad."
"Hey! That's so cool! Big posters of dad?" Max says, amazed.
"I'm so proud of him!" May happily says.
"Seeing Norman is what gets me more excited to battle him. The last battle we had was incredible. Sure it got interrupted, but I can't wait to have an official battle, and I plan to win my fifth gym badge. Our Pokemon have gotten stronger since last time."
Pikachu and Eevee agree.
"You know, Mew. It's going to be a tough battle to beat," Brock says.
Then Max says, "Please, I don't think so. You should know that my dad practices to prepare himself and his Pokémon."
"Yeah? Well, that makes two of us because I've been practicing really hard myself. Anyway, you guys go on ahead while I take my Pokémon over to the Pokémon Center for a quick check up," Mew says.
"I'll go with you, Mew," Tomo says.
"Me too," Molly says.
"I'll go too," Zinnia says.
Moments, May, Max, Brock, and Jen head to the gym.
"Home, sweet home!" Max says.
"And it hasn't changed at all since we left months ago," May says.
Soon, May and Max rush up the stairs in excitement, "Hey, there! We're home!"
They're soon greeted by a boy at the top of the steps. A boy with olive green hair and brows, and wears a blue outfit.
The boy says, "May and Max! It's so good to see you guys again!"
"Hi, Kenny. It's good to see you, too," May says to the boy.
Then Max asks, "Are mom and dad home?"
"Your dad's not home," Kenny says.
"Oh, that's too bad," Max says.
Brock then asks, "So, Kenny, how's it been going lately?"
"It's been okay," Kenny answers.
Then says to May and Max, "I bet you two are glad to be home." He then whispers, "About your dad? We have a little problem going on."
"Problem? Is it serious?" May whispers.
Kenny whispers, "Probably nothing you need to worry about. The whole thing is actually kind of complicated."
"Oh," The two siblings reply.
Suddenly, they hear a familiar voice, "My babies."
They all look and see May and Max's mom, Caroline
"You're home. I'm so glad, I missed you so much," Caroline says.
"Hi, mom!" May and Max
"We missed you, too," May says.
The two kids hug their mom
Caroline asks, "How have you two been these past few months?"
"Good," Max says.
"Max, I think you've grown at least three inches," CAroline says.
Then Brock says, "Hi, Caroline."
"Hello," Jen says.
"Brock, Jen, thanks for coming all this way. Come on in, and relax," Caroline sas.
Then Max asks, ""Hey, mom, when are we gonna get to see daddy?"
Caroline: Not right now," Caroline says.
Then Kennny quickly says, "Oh, silly me, I haven't been doing my job since you all arrived," And starts sweeping frantically, "Sweep! Sweep! Sweep! Sweep! Sweep!"
Confused, May asks, "What's up with him? Mom, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, dear, I just have to go back to the kitchen and finish getting lunch ready, that's all. You all hungry? I sure hope you'll join us," Caroline says.
"Thank you, it'd be our pleasure," Brock says.
"Thank you," Jen says.
Max happily cheers, "Yay! We finally get to eat mom's home cooking again!"
Kenny sighs as they head inside. May notices it and looks deeply confused.
Meanwhile, Mew, Tomo, Molly, and Zinnia arrive in the Pokemon Center.
"Hello?" Mew says.
Then she and the others spot Norman talking to Nurse Joy.
"Well, look who it is," Mew says.
"It's Norman," Tomo says.
"Let's go say, hi," Molly says.
The gang then walks over.
Nurse Joy says to Norman, "Oh, Norman, are you sure?"
"Of course. You know I trust you 100%," Norman says.
"Hi Norman!" Mew says.
The two turn to see Mew and her friends.
"Oh, welcome back, Ashley," Nurse Joy says.
"Hey. I've been looking forward to your return," Norman says.
"Thanks. I have been, too," Mew says
Pikachu and Eevee agree.
"I would imagine you have quite a few new Pokémon since you were here last, am I right?" Norman says.
"Yes, sir. That's why I'm here, to give my Pokémon a checkup before our match, but I know we're ready to win," Mew says.
The Pokemon agree.
"Well, well, that's the spirit!" Norman says.
"So, what do you say to a rematch?" Mew asks.
"I don't see why not," Norman says. Then turns to Nurse Joy, "Thanks, Nurse Joy, I'll catch up with you soon."
"You know you can depend on me anytime, Norman," Nurse Joy says.
"Yeah, of course I can," Norman says.
"Sounds like you two are working together on something," Mew says.
"What's up?" Tomo asks.
"What is it?" Molly asks.
"Oh, nothing. It's nothing really major," Norman says before turning to Nurse joy, "Right, Nurse Joy?"
"Yeah, just a small thing," Nurse Joy says.
"Really? What is it?" Molly asks.
"Well, the thing is," Norman says, looking around to be sure no one hears.
He then whispers in the group's ears.
"Wow! That's cool!" Tomo says.
"Sounds really romantic!" Molly says.
"I think Caroline will love it!" Mew says.
"Thanks," Norman says.
Then turns to notice Zinnia, "And you must be, Zinnia. May and Max told us about you."
"Sure am. It's nice to meet you," Zinnia says. Then says, "I must say, what you're planning is very sweet. I'm sure your wife will love it."
"I sure hope so. I've been planning this for a while," Norman says.
Elsewhere, in a greenhouse...
"Where are we, anyway?" Jessie asks.
"All I know is it's a jungle out here!" James says.
"Oh, it's not even real. It's a greenhouse," Jessie says.
"But a special greenhouse, because it's owned by Norman," Mewoth says.
"Who cares who owns it?" James says, annoyed.
"Yeah, why'd you drag us into this place anyway?" Jessie asks, annoyed.
Then Meowth explains, "For your information, dis place is right next to da gym, where the twerp is going to battle at, putting us in a primo stealing position."
James is worried, "I'm remembering a bad experience trying to steal from that guy, Norman."
"You worry too much. Besides, dey won't expect us not attacking da same place twice," Meowth points out.
Jessie agrees, "You're right. Nobody knows we're that dumb?"
"Okay, now dat we got dat settled, let's get to planning out our attack," Meowth says.
"What now?" James and Jessie ask, confused.
Meanwhile, at May and Max's home, the group was sitting down for lunch
"Eat up, everyone. I have plenty of food for everyone," Caroline says.
"So, mom, for the past few months, Team Rocket's been causing us all kinds of problems," Max says.
"Oh, dear," Caroline says, confused, "Were you in any danger?"
"Come on mom, we can take care of ourselves," Max says.
"Max, don't worry mom like that," May says.
"Alright," Max says. He then says, "Anyway, May and I have caught a few Pokemon."
"Really?" Caroline asks.
"Yeah. And we also battle two Teams named Team Aqua and Team Magma," Max says.
"But we managed to defeat them," May says.
"I heard of them. I hope you all are okay," Caroline says.
"We're fine. However, it's clear that they're up to no good," Max says.
Then May asks, "So, mom, when's dad gonna be home?"
"Yeah, dad always comes home for lunch after spending the day out, doesn't he?" Max asks.
"Uh…" Caroline says and turns around, "Not... not today."
Then Kenny says, "You still look hungry. Do you want some more?! Do ya? Do ya? Do ya?
"Well... Sure, why not?" Brock says.
"Okay," Jen says, confused.
"Now you're talking. Here you go," Kenny says, handing each of them some bread.
Then May happily remembers, "Oh, I almost forgot! Guess what, Mom. I have a Beautifly!"
"You have a what?" Caroline asks.
"We can talk about that later," Kenny says.
Everyone looks at him suspiciously
May then asks, "Are you feeling okay, Kenny? You seem to be acting, different."
"Uh...never felt better in my life," Kenny says and chuckles nervously.
Then Max says, "So, anyway, May has been in a lot of Pokémon Contests."
Kenny says, "They weren't talking about Pokémon Contests, they were talking about something else."
As Kenny talks, Caroline gets angry and stirs the pot of stew more viciously
"She's gonna blow!" Kenny panics.
"What's going on?" Brock asks.
"Is she okay?" Jen asks.
May and Max then ask, "Mom, what's wrong?"
Caroline realizes her children asks her, and answers, "Oh, nothing. I've just been trying to work some exercise into my housework," She then laughs and starts exercising while everyone else sweat drops.
Sometime later, Kenny rushes over to the greenhouse
"Come on, hurry!" Kenny says.
It's revealed that May and the others are following from behind.
"What is going on with mom, Kenny?" May asks.
The group follows him in
Kenny whispers, "Keep it down, you never know who might be listening in."
"Alright, tell us," May whispers.
"What's going on?" Jen whispers.
Kenny whispers, "Here's the…"
Suddenly, Max calls out, "Hey!
"What is it, Max?" Brock quietly says.
"A Vigoroth!" Max says.
They look to see Vigoroth, Norman's Pokemon.
Vigoraoth says, "Vig Gor Roth!" (Hi May and Max, it's been a while.)
"Oh, yeah. I wonder if that's the same Vigoroth that battled Mew and Pikachu," Brock says.
"That's the one," Jen says.
"I've never been inside of dad's greenhouse before when he wasn't in here with me, it's kind of cool, huh?" Max says
"This greenhouse is where dad keeps all of his gym Pokémon," May says.
"Wow, that's pretty cool," Brock says.
Max rushes to Vigoroth, "It's great to see you again, Vigoroth."
Vigoroth comes down and hugs him when the boy runs up to it
"Dad never let us watch any of battles in the gym," May says.
"How come?" Jen asks.
"He was afraid we might distract the challenger or him," May says.
"Well, that makes sense, but not being able to watch your dad in action must've been frustrating for you guys," Brock says.
"Not really, we understood," May says, "We knew from the very beginning that a good gym leader is a strict one and he always had time to play with us after his battles were all done.
Soon, Kenny sweat drops, "Sorry to interrupt your trip down memory lane…"
"Look, guys, a Slakoth!" Max says.
Everyone looks and sees the Slakoth hanging from a branch.
"Slakoth" May says, and gets out her Pokedex.
Dextette says, "Slakoth, the Slacker Pokémon. A Norman Type. Slakoth is generally found sleeping and very few ever witness it in motion."
"That's cool. I never saw a Slakoth wide awake before," Kenny says.
"It seems like both it and Vigoroth really like you, Max," Brock says.
Kenny then quietly says, "Come on, I got to tell you guys something, it's important!"
Suddenly, Max calls out, "Look, guys, it's a Slaking!"
Everyone looks and sees it. Slaking is a large, bulky, ape-like bipedal Pokémon. Most of its shaggy fur is brown, along with the semi-circle patterning under its eyes. Its face, chest, hands, and feet are lighter in color. Its brows are thick and jutting, and it has a large, pink pig-like snout. Around its neck is a white collar of fur that extends over the top of its head before ending in a small tuft. It has large, five-fingered hands and two-toed feet.
"A Slaking?" May questions.
"It's really big," Jen says.
"That's great," Brock says.
May points her Pokédex at it, and Dextette says, "Slaking, the Lazy Pokémon. A Normal Type. Slaking lives most of its life asleep, eating only grasses that grow within its reach."
"I remember dad always telling me about how Slaking can be a total pain in the neck to raise and take care of," Max says.
"Probably lives up to its name, the Lazy Pokemon," Brock says.
"What a sleepy head," Jen says.
"Yeah, right? But once you get them into battling, it's intense because Slaking is so powerful," Kenny says.
But then he urgently, quietly says, "Now, listen, there's something I have to tell you right now."
"Go ahead, Kenny," May quietly says
"You see, I think there's something wrong with your mom and dad," Kenny whispers.
May, Brock, and Jen react in shock, "WHAT?!"
"What are you talking about?" May asks.
Kenny explains, "Well, your dad has been at the Pokémon Center every single day lately and it seems that your mom is always mad and yelling at him about nothing."
Then Max comes over, "So, everyone goes to the Pokémon Center every day and plenty of people yell."
"Yeah, if you want to put it that way," Kennt says.
"Cause that's the way it is," Max says.
Kenny then explains, "Well, I don't like all this tension, either. After all, your dad is my boss. But there's more, every time your mom hears the word Beautifly, she gets all weird and upset.
As Kenny talks, at May and Max's house, Caroline was packing a suitcase before she looks a picture of her and her husband walking through a flowery field with Beautifly around them
May asks, "Why would mom get upset about that?"
"I have no idea," Kenny says.
As Kenny explains, Caroline puts the picture frame down so that the picture doesn't show.
"I don't know, it just doesn't make sense. She won't talk about it either," Kenny says.
Soon, Mew and the others show up.
"Hey, I finally found you guys," Mew says.
"Hi, guys," May says.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket was wandering around
"How can you get lost in a greenhouse?" Jessie asks.
"I don't need to see another shrub for as long as I live," James says.
Jessie looks ahead, "Huh? Hey, look!"
James and Meowth see Mew and the others.
"Talk about your good timing," Meowth says.
"Yeah, good timing for us to steal that Pikachu and Eevee," James says.
But Meowth says, "Hold on, I got a better idea."
"Which is?" Jessie asks.
Then Meowth says, "Okay, dis place is crawling wit Slakoth, Vigoroth and Slaking. So we catch all three evolutionary stages and present dem to da boss."
"Why are they more preferable to Pikachu and Eevee?" James asks.
A boss fantasy begins
Meowth explains, "Well, imagine da boss tryin' to get out of bed early one morning. 'Bummer, I just can't wake up. Isn't there anything to look forward to in my sad life,' And that's when his Vigorth comes to the rescue with a big fat hug, 'Good morning! Thanks you for making my day! Aaaaah! Enough that! I'm glad I'm awake, but is there a better way without breaking my back!' Then he sees the other two, 'Aw, my Slakoth and Slaking, you guys always help to make me feel relax.' And then da boss says, 'Since Meowth and his friends gave me such a great present, I must do the same for them."
Boss fantasy ends
Team Rocket cheers, "Who's number 1! Who's having fun! Give up? It's us!"
Jessie then asks, "So, ready for success?"
James and Meowth: Yes!" James and Meowth happily say
"Wobbuffet!" (Let's do it!) Wobbuffet says.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others told the rest of the group about their visit.
"What? Norman's where?" Brock asks.
"Yeah. We saw him over at the Pokemon Center a while ago," Mew says.
"He was talking to Nurse Joy about something very special," Zinnia says.
"Yeah. And Norman is excited about it," Molly says.
Kenny shrugs and sweat drops, "I knew it."
"What? What's wrong?" Mew asks.
"What are we gonna do, you guys?" May asks.
Then Brock says, "I know! Ask me, what I'm going to do?!"
"Huh?" Everyone replies, confused.
"Yep. This is the job for the original love doctor. That's me," Brock says and runs off.
"This could be bad!" May says.
"It's fine. Brock knows what he's doing!" Max says.
"But Brock calls himself the love doctor!" Kenny says.
"After him!" Jen says.
Then the group runs off, leaving Mew and the rest of the gang behind.
"What got into them?" Tomo asks.
"I don't know, but something's weird is going on," Zinnia says.
"Maybe we should see what's going on," Molly says.
"Good idea. How about you and Zinnia go to the Pokemon Center, Molly, while we hang out here," Mew says, "In case Norman comes back."
"Good idea," Zinnia says.
With that, Zinnia and Molly rush off while Tomo, Mew, and their Pokemon stay behind.
Just then, Vigoroth lands in front of them.
"Oh hi, Vigoroth. Nice of you to drop by," Mew says.
"Vigoroth." (Heya, guys.) Vigoroth says.
Not long after, May and the others arrive at the Pokemon Center. To their shock, they see Norman and Nurse Joy talking.
Nurse Joy asks, surprised, "You're kidding!"
"No, really," Normans ays.
The group was almost speechless.
"Yeah, it's true," Kenny says.
"I can't believe my eyes!" May says, shocked.
"I still say this can't be true!" Max says.
Soon, Zinnia and Molly arrive.
"There you guys. Can you tell us what's going on?" Zinnia asks.
Nurse Joy and Norman soon spot the group
"Well, look, it's May and Max!" Norman says and approaches them.
"Hi," May says.
"So, I heard from Mew that you two caught some new Pokémon," Norman says
May and Max start to act a bit down.
Noticing it, Norman asks, "What's wrong? You two feeling okay?
"No, not really," May says.
"Norman, it's good to see you again," Brock says.
"Brock, Jen, how are you?" Norman asks.
Brock comes up, "We need to have a talk."
Norman is confused about it.
But Brock then notices Nurse Joy, "Oh! Nurse Joy!"
"Hi, Brock," Nurse Joy says.
But before Brock can take her hand, Kenny holds him back, "Not now, 'Dr. Love'."
"Sorry," Brock apologizes.
Back in the greenhouse.
"Looking for dose tree Pokémon is like looking for tree needles in a haystack," Meowth says.
"I've had enough of this nature walk!" Jessie says.
"Well, it is enclosed, so there must be some sort of end to it," James says.
They soon reach a door and find themselves looking outside the greenhouse.
"There's no excuse for anyone to have a greenhouse this size," James says.
But then, Team Rocket notices a strange machine hidden in the bushes.
"Now what is dat ting?" Meowth asks.
"Let's see, a rocket launcher, perhaps?" James suggests.
"Guess what, I don't care what that is, back we go!" Jessie says and points back in the greenhouse.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others, including Vigoroth, roam around.
Mew notices, "Awesome, it's a Slakoth."
Mew says, "Hi, little Slakoth. How's it going? These are my buddies, Pikachu and Eevee, and I'm Mew."
"I'm Tomo, and this is my Meloetta and Skwovet," Tomo says.
The Pokemon say their hellos.
Slakoth also says, "Slakoth Slak?" (Howdy do?)
Tomo then notices, "Hey guys look over there!"
The group looks to see Slaking.
"Whoa. A Slaking, too," Mew says.
"I bet you three are Norman's Pokémon, aren't you?" Mew says.
The Pokemon nod.
"It will be cool, if I get to battle with Slaking," Mew says.
"That would be awesome," Tomo replies.
Meanwhile, at the Pokémon Center.
Brock then explains, "Alright Norman, listen up! When you got married to Caroline, you promised to love her, protect her, and spend time with her! Word is, you're not fulfilling that promise! Tell her that you're sorry! Grovel if you have to!"
"What in the world are you talking about?" Norman says, confused.
Brock then turns to Nurse Joy, "Nurse Joy, I hope I haven't offended you with my harsh words!"
"Awkward," Nurse Joy says.
"Brock, you're not making any sense," Zinnia says, confused.
"You're talking crazy again," Molly says.
Then Kenny pulls him back, "The doctor is out!"
"It's bad enough having to deal with one problem," May says.
"May? Max? What in the world is going on here?" Zinnia asks.
"Yeah? What problem are you talking about?" Norman asks, confused.
"Well um," May says, sounding worried.
Just then, Caroline walks in, "Norman."
Max and May turn to see, "It's mom!"
Confused, Norman asks, "Dear, what's wrong? Where are you going with that suitcase?"
"I'm going anywhere but here!" Caroline says.
This devastated May and Max while shocking the rest of the group.
"Caroline…" Norman says, shocked.
They are all silent as May and Max get worried till…
Norman then asks, "Well do you need any help with your luggage?"
The family falls over in disbelief, "AAH!"
Kenny rushes over, "Listen up! She is leaving!"
"Right, I'm just wondering where she's going," Norman says, confused.
"I just told you! Anywhere but here!" Caroline says, angrily.
"Well, okay," Norman says, and thinks for a minute.
He then says, "I guess that means you'll be handling the kitchen detail Kenny."
May, Max, Caroline, and Kenny cry out in disbelief, "AAAAAH! HOW CAN YOU BE SO INCREDIBLY DENSE?!"
"Not everyone can understand women," Brock says.
Upset, Kenny cries out, "What do I have to do?! Draw you a map?!"
"Yeah, okay! That could be helpful," Norman says, confused.
Meanwhile, in the greenhouse, Mew and the others are hanging out with the Slakoth family.
"It's strange that they haven't come back yet," Mew says.
"Even stranger is how everyone else is acting weird," Tomo says.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket was continuing their trek
"This humidity is ruining my hair," Jessie says.
"But isn't the mud supposed to do wonders on the skin?" James says.
The threesome soon spots our Mew, Tomo, and their Pokemon hanging around, out in the open.
"It's too good to be true," Jessie says.
"Our three primate Pokémon," James says.
"Wit a side dish of Pikachu and Eevee," Meowth adds.
The three jump out from the bushes.
"Oh great, it's Team Rocket again!" Mew says, annoyed.
"What do you three want?" Tomo demands.
And Team Rocket performs their motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble, we don't want the two of you.
James:
Make it triple because we can't Eevee and Pikachu.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
I'm Jessie.
James:
And don't forget James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket boogies down at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now while doing the twist, or fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
Wobbuffet:
Wobb Wobbu Wobbuffet! (And that's another wrap!)
"Your mottos just keep getting weirder every time," Mew says.
"Yeah. Can't you just leave all of us alone," Tomo says.
"It's bound to get boring," Mew adds.
"I'm glad you asked," Jessie says.
"You know how much we like Pikachu and Eevee," James says.
"Now we're likin these other three as well," Meowth says.
Jessie calls out, "Seviper, let's go!"
James does too, "You too, Cacnea!"
Both Pokemon come out of their Pokeballs, but Cacnea turns around and hugs James instead.
James cries out, "Why do you keep doing that? Attack the other way!"
Seviper closes in for a strike
"Here we go, gang. Get ready for a battle," Mew says.
"Yeah! Let's get rid of these guys!" Tomo says.
Back at the Pokemon Center.
Kenny has explained the entire story, "And that's the whole story."
"Oh my!" Nurse Joy says, surprised.
"But fortunately now my eyes are wide open! Don't worry about me kids, I'll be just fine!" Caroline says.
"But Mom…" May tries to stop her.
But Caroline says, "Thanks! It was really thoughtful of you to have us deal with this on our wedding anniversary!"
"That's right I forgot your wedding anniversary is today," May says.
"I didn't!" Caroline says.
"That's why you can't leave!" May says.
"Yeah! You've gotta try and work this thing out!" Kenny says.
Then Max shouts, "KNOCK IT OFF! None of you people are even giving Dad the benefit of the doubt! My dad's the best gym leader in the whole world! And he's my hero, too!"
"Yes, I know Max," Caroline says.
Max groans and nods.
"Really? Because Norman didn't forget your anniversary," Molly says.
This catches Caroline and May's attention.
Norman says, "Molly's right," He then begins to chuckle, "What a mess! But, at least now I know what you're talking about."
"Dad! We don't think it's very funny!" May says.
But Norman says, "I'm sorry May. There's just been a huge misunderstanding!
"Huh?" Norman, May, and Max reply confused.
"Whatta ya say we all head home and straighten this thing out!" Norman says.
Back to the greenhouse, Team Rocket begins to attack.
Jessie calls out, "Seviper, Poison Tail now!"
Seviper attacks with Poison Tail and makes an impact on Pikachu and Skwovet and they fall to the floor.
"Pikachu!" Mew cries out.
"Skwovet!" Tomo cries out.
James calls out, "Cacnea! Use Pin Missile!"
Cacnea fires Pin Missile. Slakoth and Vigoroth jump away from the attack while Slaking was just being lazy.
"Well then, I guess we're all pretty clear on who's King of this Jungle wouldn't you say? But, we're not outta the woods yet! Go Seviper!" Jessie calls out.
Everyone begins running away, except for Slaking.
"We'd better run for it guys!" MEw calls out.
"Hurry!" Tomo cries out.
Everyone hurries and reaches outside of the greenhouse. They run outside as the entrance blows up and they are sent flying to the door.
"Wow! That was good!" Meowth says.
"I'm not sure what happened, but I'll gladly take credit for it," Jessie says.
Mew and the others soon find themselves on the ground after the blast.
Soon, they hear the others' voices, "Mew! Tomo!"
They look to see Norman, May, Max, and everyone running over.
"Are you all okay!" Norman calls out.
"Yeah, thanks," Mew says.
Upon arriving, Norman notices the villains, "Not you gang of crooks again?!"
"It is?!" Jessie and James exclaims.
"Nice to see ya again, Norman!" Meowth says.
Mew says, "Team Rocket were trying to steal some of your Pokemon!" Mew says.
Norman turns to Team Rocket, "There's no way I'm going to let you gang of clowns catch any of my Pokemon!
Jessie feels offended, "HEY! You don't have to get nasty!" Then calls out, "Good idea! Seviper! Poison Tail!"
James calls out, "Cacnea! Pin Missile!"
With that, both Pokemon fire their attacks. They all avoid the attack, but the Pin Missile hits the device and it explodes.
Norman and Nurse Joy cry out, "OH NO!"
"What was that explosion?!" May asks.
Seeing what happened, Norman clenches his fist in pure fury, "THAT DOES IT! YOU'LL REGRET EVER COMING TO THIS TOWN!"
Jessie and James gasp in fear.
Meowth becomes nervous, "Okay so now I'm afraid."
"Why's Dad flipping out like that?" Max says.
Caroline says, shocked, "Good Lord!"
"Something tells me that Team Rocket is in deep trouble," Zinnia says.
Then Norman shouts, "Now Slaking!"
Team Rocket panics as something big and heavy comes storming their way. They turn to see Slaking coming in fast. Slaking then jumps out of the greenhouse and lands next to Norman.
"Wow, look at that!" Mew says.
"It's even bigger like this," Tomo says.
Slaking is now present and lets out a roar, "SLAKING!" (YOU'RE FINISHED!)
Team Rocket screams in fear.
Then Norman calls out, "
Norman calls out, "Go Slaking give 'em your Focus Punch!"
Slaking charges forward and uses focus Punch, sending Team Rocket flying in a daze.
Dazed, Jessie asks, "Wha' was that?"
"King of the Jungle?" James says, dazed.
"In that case we just got the royal treatment," Meowth says, dazed.
Team Rocket cries out, "We're blasting off again!"
"Wobbuffet!" (Really blasting off now!)
Everyone back on the ground floor watches in surprise.
"Wow!" Molly says.
"There they go," Jen says.
"That was just one attack!" Zinnis says.
"A very powerful one," Mew says.
Norman gasps and rushes to check on the destroyed machine, "Oh no! My anniversary surprise has been ruined!"
Everyone gasps in surprise.
"Surprise?" May asks.
"Yes. It was a fireworks display for Mom," Norman says.
Caroline is surprised, "Fireworks?!"
May is amazed, "WOW! Giving fireworks as a present is about the most romantic thing I've ever heard of!"
Then Nurse Joy says, confused, "I can have another fireworks display ready for you tonight!"
"Huh?!" The group replies, confused.
"But, how can you do that?!" Jen asks.
Nurse Joy explains, "Besides my being a nurse, I'm also a licensed pyrotechnician! So of course asked me to prepare all those fireworks to surprise his wife. And he also made me promise I wouldn't tell anybody!"
"What?!" Caroline says, shocked.
"Sounds about right. When me and the others came to the Pokemon Center earlier, he told us about what he's planning for tonight. We promised to not say anything," Mew says.
"Yeah. Didn't expect there to be a misunderstanding," Tomo says.
Brock says to Nurse Joy, lovestruck, "You are amazing! You've stirred up the fireworks inside of me as well!"
"Huh?" Nurse Joy says, confused.
Macx then grabs Brock, "Allow me to put the fireworks out!" And pulls Brock away.
"Farewell my love!" Brock cries out.
"Then I'll happily take up on your offer, Nurse Joy!" Nurse Joy says.
Later that night, everyone is waiting as Nurse Joy readies the fireworks display.
Once she's done, Nurse Joy says, "Norman, all set to go!"
"Thank you!" Norman says to Nurse Joy. Then says, "Alright. Everyone ready for something special?!"
With a push of a button from Norman's hand, fireworks are launched into the sky, and display bright colors, brighten's the night sky.
Max and May gasp in amazement, "Huh?"
The firework then takes the form of a Beautifly.
"Oh, wow! It's a Beautifly!" May says.
"It's beautiful," Molly says.
"That's really cool!" Tomo says.
The Pokemon happily agree.
Caroline turns to Norman and says, "Norman, how could I've ever doubted you?"
"I understand, dear. I was just hoping that this could have been a surprise, that's all!" Norman says.
"I know," Caroline says and hugs him happily, "Happy anniversary!"
"I'm just glad it's made you so happy!" Norman says.
Everyone looks with smiles and awe of the lovely couple. Soon, more fireworks fire into the sky and take the form of Beautifly.
Max then asks, "But how come all a' these fireworks're Beautifly, Mom?
Caroline chuckles, "Well you see…"
Norman acts naturally and says, "Heeey! It looks like we're out of drinks! What a shame! I'll be right back!" Then takes his leave.
Caroline chuckles and explains, "You see, it all goes back to when your father first proposed to me."
"Yeah? Tell us!" May says.
Caroline explains, "Okay, we were standing in a field full of... gorgeous flowers!"
Flashback:
Caroline and Norman are in a field of flowers.
Caroline continues, "There were Beautifly as far as the eye could see. It was like we had our own special group of Cupids watching over us!"
Flashback ends:
In the house, Norman walks to the fridge to get the drinks.
Caroline says, "I've never forgotten it and obviously neither has your dad."
Back to Caroline
"And that's why he made all those fireworks into Beautifly!" Caroline says.
"He didn't even tell me!" Nurse Joy says.
"He sure is romantic," Brock says.
Caroline blushes happily, "And looking back on all of this I'm so glad he kept it a secret after all!"
"I'm glad too! Mystery solved!" Kenny says.
"It's so cool that our parents are so in love!" May says.
See May? I told ya so!" Max says.
Everyone begins laughing with a smile.
Soon, Norman approaches Mew, "Mew?"
"Yeah?" Mew questions.
"Just so you know, in our battle tomorrow I'll be using Vigoroth, Slakoth, and Slaking," Norman says.
Mew is surprised to hear it.
Max walks over, "Dad you're not supposed to tell him ahead of time!"
"No matter. I just want Mew and I to have the best battle that we can!" Norman says.
"Great!" Mew says.
Pikachu and Eevee agree.
"So, my Dad was pretty good today," Max says.
"Wait'll you see how good I am tomorrow!" Mew says.
Norman holds out his hand, "That's the spirit! Here's to a great match!"
Mew and Norman then shake each other's hand.
"Thank you," Mew says.
"Yeah, but Dad'll win anyway!" Max says.
"It's hard. I want Dad to win but I don't want Mew to lose," May says.
A tough call," Brock says.
While both opponents are brimming with confidence. Max is standing firmly in his father's corner, while May's torn feelings have her caught in the middle. But one question is on everybody's mind: Will Mew win his fifth badge? Stay tuned!
