Hey everyone, chipsandfish2 here with another chapter of Multiverse of Movies
In case you didn't notice, I added Disney's Wish to the list of movies the characters and everyone else will be reacting to.
You can reread Chapter 1 to see when Asha gets teleported.
One top of that, A Quiet Place: Day One comes into theaters today and I'm so excited to see it, same with Despicable Me 4 next week.
Now then, without further ado, onto the story.
Disclaimer: I don't own HTTYD or any of the movies being presented in this story, just the OC.
Chapter 8: HTTYD Scene 7
[Scene cuts to at the Arena]
Stoick: Well, I can show my face in public again! If someone had told me that in just few short weeks, Hiccup would go from being, well... Hiccup, to placing first in Dragon Training... Well, I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for fear he'd gone mad. Yes! And you know it! But here we are. And no one's more surprised...or more proud than I am. Today, my boy becomes a Viking. TODAY, HE BECOMES ONE OF US!
Stoick winced. Hearing those words himself made realize just how little he used to think of his son.
From the rafters, Valka frowned behind her mask at her husband's words.
"That's a bit harsh." Anna said.
Astrid: Be careful with that dragon.
Hiccup: (Glances at Stoick) It's not the dragon I'm worried about.
Astrid: What are you gonna do?
Hiccup: Put an end to this.
[She eyes him, dubious.]
Hiccup (cont.): I have to try. Astrid, if something goes wrong... just make sure they don't find Toothless.
Astrid: I will. Just... promise me it won't go wrong.
"I've got fifty bucks saying this is going to go horribly wrong." Hiro said.
"What makes you say that?" Hiccup asks, despite already knowing what's about to happen.
"All the times you got the short end of the stick in this movie." Hiro deadpanned.
Gobber: It's time, Hiccup. Knock him dead.
Tuffnut: Show 'em how it's done, my man!
[Hiccup enters the Arena and grabs a shield and a dagger from the weapons stand.]
Stoick: Hrmph. I would've gone for the hammer.
"Uh, if my memory serves me correctly." Jacob said. "Isn't the Monstrous Nightmare the self-igniting dragon that only the most experienced vikings should handle."
Hiccup nodded. "Yep. And here we have a walking fishbone going at it instead."
Astrid punched his arm. "Hey, you're more than a fishbone, remember."
He nodded while slightly blushing, ignoring the playful "ooh's" from Hiro, Tadashi, and Jack.
Hiccup: I'm ready.
[They release the Monstrous Nightmare. It bursts out of its cage, shrouded in flames. It crawls along the walls, blasting fire which some vikings just barely avoided. It was NOT happy.]
"That's what you had to go up against?!" Ruby shouted.
Hiccup nodded his head.
"Oh yeah. Snotlout, Hookfang, Oi, Oi, Oi."
[The Nightmare notices Hiccup and drops down in front of him. Hiccup approaches the Nightmare slowly, raising his hand like how he did to Toothless]
Stoick: What is he doing?
Hiccup: It's okay. It's okay. [throws helmet onto floor] I'm not one of them.
[The crowd gasps.]
Stpcik and Hiccup wince.
"Probably not the wisest thing you could have said." Tadashi said.
Stoick: Stop the fight.
Hiccup: No! I need you all to see this. They're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them.
[His hand is about to touch the Nightmare.]
Stoick: I SAID STOP THE FIGHT!
[Slams hammer against the Arena railings, agitating the Nightmare. Frightened, the Nightmare attacks.]
Stoicks eyes widened. In his own anger, he almost got his son killed.
"And he was so close." Moana said.
[Meanwhile, at the cove, Toothless hears Hiccup's screams.]
"Hear could hear the scream all the way from there?" Olaf asked.
"Dragons have very good hearing." Fishlegs said.
"So does my cousin." Mirabel thought while chuckling to herself.
Stoick: Out of my way!
Astrid: HICCUP!
[She uses an axe to pry open the gate a bit and enters the ring. Meanwhile, Toothless is trying to get out of the cove before he finally manages to get a good grip and climb out.]
"Oh my god!" Rapunzel shouted.
"What? What is it?" Eugene asked.
"Toothless wasn't able to get out of the cove last time, but he managed to get out after hearing Hiccup in trouble." She said.
Everyone looked at the Night Fury who simply just nuzzled his rider, earning a chuckle and a head scratch.
[Dodging the flames, Hiccup tries to grab another shield, but the Nightmare destroys the rack. Meanwhile, Toothless is running through the forest as fast as he can. The camera zooms in to show the determined look on his face.]
"Wow. Toothless really cares about you." Jack said.
"Yeah, he's going to save you despite knowing it will expose you two to the vikings." Merida added.
"Now that's true friendship right there." Toad said.
[Stoick gets to the entrance to the arena and opens the gates.]
Astrid: Hiccup!
[She grabs the hammer and throws it at the Nightmare, hiring it in the face and drawing its attention to her. She runs as fast as she could, the Nightmare hot on her heels.]
"Great save, but a terrible result." Jacob said.
"Why would draw its attention to you?!" Aunt Cass shouted while shoving popcorn into her mouth.
"Obviously to save the boy she likes." Olaf spoke up innocently, making the two of them blush.
Stoick: This way!
[Astrid escapes, but Hiccup is pinned under the Nightmare's claws. Suddenly, a resonating blast fires at the Arena's railing. Toothless jumps into the Arena. The smoke clears up, revealing the two dragons fighting.]
Gobber: Night Fury!
[Toothless battles the Nightmare, preventing it from getting to Hiccup. With one final snarl, he forces the Stoker Class dragon to back off.]
"One problem down, a few dozen to go." Ruby frowned.
Hiccup: Alright, Toothless, go. Get out of here!
[Vikings start jumping into the arena.]
Hiccup: Go! GO!
[Stoick grabs an ax and starts running towards Toothless.]
Everyone's breathing hitched.
"Why didn't you just hop on Toothless and fly out of there?" Mirabel asked.
"I was panicking because my dad was about to try and kill my best friend." Hiccup replied.
Stoick winced at those words.
"Being under intense pressure can cause a person to not think straight and therefore, make a mistake. How bad of an error depends on the current situation." Baymax said with a raised finger.
Astrid: Stoick, no!
Hiccup: No, Dad, he won't hurt you!
[Toothless starts knocking vikings out of the way as lunges towards Stoick.]
Hiccup (cont.): No, don't! You're only making it worse! Toothless, STOP!
[Toothless pins down Stoick and is about to blast him at point blank range.]
Toothless whimpers as he looks at Stoick.
Stoick pats his head. "Don't worry about it dragon."
Hiccup (cont.): No! NOOOOO!
[Toothless stops and looks at Hiccup. Suddenly the other vikings grab him and restrain him.]
"That was quite the conundrum." Jacob said. "By saving his dad, he allowed Toothless to be captured. On the other hand, the smoke from the explosion would have provided cover to escape and flee to safety, but at the cost of the man's life."
"In the end, neither solution would work out." Asha added.
Hiccup: No! Please, jus- just don't hurt him! Please don't hurt him.
[Stoick looks at Toothless who looks back at him.]
Stoick: Put it with the others!
[Stoick shoves Hiccup into the Great Hall, furious. He paces against a backdrop of shadowy tapestries and carved pillars - a legacy of viking heroes, all staring down in angered judgement.]
Hiccup shuddered. He had a feeling there were others watching him, but he was too engrossed in his father's anger to fully notice.
Stoick: I should have known. I should have seen the signs.
Hiccup: Dad-
Stoick: We had a deal!
"A very one-sided deal." Jack muttered.
Stoick mentally braced himself. He and Hiccup knew what was about to happen and could already hear the yells of anger from the others.
Hiccup: I know we did... But that was before... Ugh, it's all so messed up!
Stoick: So everything in the ring... A trick?! A lie?
Hiccup: I screwed up. I should have told you before now. Take this out on me, be mad at me, but please... just don't hurt Toothless.
Stoick: The dragon? That's what you're worried about? Not the people you almost killed?!
Hiccup: He was just protecting me! He's not dangerous.
Stoick: They've killed HUNDREDS OF US!
Hiccup: AND WE'VE KILLED THOUSANDS OF THEM! They defend themselves, that's all! They raid us because they have to! If they don't bring enough food back, they'll be eaten themselves. There's something else on their island, Dad... it's a dragon like–
"WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT TO HIM?!" Moana shouted.
"I was trying to get through to him." Hiccup defended himself, although now realizing his mistake.
Stoick: -Their island? So you've been to the nest.
Hiccup: Did I say nest?
Stoick: How did you find it?!
Hiccup: No... I didn't. Toothless did. Only a dragon can find the island.
[Stoick's eyes widened, an idea having formed in his head.]
Moana threw her hands over her head in exasperation.
"You really didn't think about that, did you?" Jack asked.
Hiccup (cont.): Oh, no, no. Dad, no! Dad! It's not what you think! You don't know what you're up against! It's like nothing you've ever seen! Dad, please! I promise you that you can't win this one! No! Dad, no! FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE, WOULD YOU PLEASE JUST LISTEN TO ME!
[Hiccup grabs his father's arm. But Stoick was having none of it. He forced Hiccup off, causing him to fall to the ground.]
Stoick: You've thrown your lot in with them. You're not a Viking.
[Beat]
You're not my son.
Gasps were heard throughout the theater. Many of the parents, such as Alma, Mirabel's parents, Ruby's parents, etc. couldn't believe their ears.
"YOU MOTHERF#$& ING EXCUSE FOR A PARENT." Aunt Cass yelled.
Since there were kids, Ryalogia decided to bleep out the swears that came from Aunt Cass.
"HOW COULD YOU JUST DISOWN YOUR ONLY SON LIKE THAT WHEN HE WAS TRYING SAVE YOUR A$$." She yelled as she smacked him across the face.
Valka, with her face still hidden, came down and also whacked Stoick with her staff. She couldn't believe her husband just did that to their child.
"Alright, alright, alright, break it up you guys." Ryalogia said as he went to them and used his powers to separate them.
"Cass, back to your seat. Masked figure, come with me."
Aunt Cass went back to her seat, still glaring daggers at Stoick, as were the other parents in the audience.
Ryalogia led Valka back to her spot with Cloudjumper.
"You stay there. You'll know when to reveal yourself."
Valka simply nodded
[Hiccup's eyes widen in disbelief and hurt as his now ex-father marches out of the Great Hall, slamming the door on the way out.]
Stoick (cont.): READY THE SHIPS!
[Before walking to the docks, Stoick staggers back, realizing the mistake he just made.]
"At least he feels guilty about it." Mario said with Luigi nodding in agreement. Donkey Kong looked down, thinking about his relationship with his father.
Stoick: Set sail! We head for Helheim's Gate.
Stoick (cont.): (to a chained Toothless) Lead us home, Devil.
"Toothless is not a devil." Anna rebutted.
"Yeah, he's more like a giant bat." Olaf chimed in.
Some chuckles were heard. Olaf's innocent comment alleviating the tension a little.
[Hiccup watched as the dozens of ships disappeared beyond the horizon.]
Astrid: It's a mess. You must feel horrible. You've lost everything. Your father, your tribe, your best friend…
"Wow, you're terrible at pep talks." Eugene said, earning a smack on the shoulder from Rapunzel.
"Shut up. She's about to try and encourage him" She said.
"How do you know that?" Jack asked.
"Years of reading the same books. Just watch and you'll see."
Hiccup: Thank you for summing that up. Why couldn't I have killed that dragon when I found him in the woods? It would have been better for everyone.
Hiccup winced. "I'm so sorry for saying that bud." He scratched Toothless' head and he crooned in response.
Astrid: Yep. The rest of us would have done it. So why didn't you?... Why didn't you?
Hiccup: I don't know. I couldn't.
Astrid: That's not an answer.
Hiccup: Why is this so important to you all of a sudden?
Astrid: Because I want to remember what you say, right now.
Hiccup: Oh, for the love of- I was a coward! I was weak! I wouldn't kill a dragon!
"Wouldn't?" Maui asked.
Astrid: You said "wouldn't" that time.
Hiccup: Whatever! I wouldn't! Three hundred years, and I'm the first Viking who wouldn't kill a dragon!
Astrid: First to ride one, though. So...?
Everyone in the audience nodded in agreement, except Valka who cho chuckled. If only he knew.
Hiccup: ...I wouldn't kill him because he looked as frightened as I was. I looked at him, and I saw myself.
In the audience, Antonio smiled. As a fellow animal lover, he also saw himself in some of his animal friends. He couldn't wait to personally meet Toothless after the movie was over.
Astrid: I bet he's really frightened now. What are you going to do about it?
Hiccup: Eh, probably something stupid.
Astrid: Good. But you've already done that.
Hiccup: Then something crazy!
Astrid: That's more like it!
"Now that I think about it, we did leave him unsupervised on the island again." Gobber said.
Stoick facepalmed. He was too focused on the trip to the nest to have realized that.
Stoick: Sound your positions. Stay within earshot.
Viking #1: Here.
Viking #2: One length to your stern.
Viking #3: On your starboard flank.
Viking #4: Three widths to port.
Viking #5: Ahead, at your bow.
Viking #6: Haven't a clue.
Gobber: Listen... Stoick... I was overhearing some of the men just now and, well, some of them are wondering what it is we're up to here- not me of course, I know you're always the man with the plan- but some, not me, are wondering if there is in fact a plan at all, what it might be?
"Subtle. Really subtle." Kristoff said.
Gobber smiled and nodded, not picking up on the sarcasm.
Stoick: Find the nest and take it.
Gobber: Ah. Of course. Send them running. The old Viking fallback. Nice and simple.
"How is that a plan?!" Jacob asked. As a hunter, he and the crew knew better than to just attack a sea beast without a plan.
Stoick: Shhh.
"Yeah Jacob, shhh." Maisie teased, earning a look from Jacob and several "ooohhh's" all around them.
[Stocik looked at Toothless, who suddenly started to pick up on the alpha's called. He started looking to where the call was coming from and the viking steered in said direction.]
"Who knew a dragon would make such a good navigator." Sarah whispered to Crow.
Crow wasn't listening. He was too invested in the movie. A boy believing in peace with dragons? It seemed like an impossible thing.
He scoffed, that boy was just like that traitorous girl.
Stoick (cont.): Step aside.
Viking: Bear to port.
(At the arena.)
Fishlegs (o.s.): If you're planning on getting eaten, I'd definitely go with the Gronckle.
Tuffnut: You were wise to seek help from the world's most deadly weapon. That's me.
The audience laughed. Ruffnut rolled her eyes.
"No, it's obviously me, doofus." She said.
They almost started another fight,
"Can you guys at least wait until after the movie?" Wasabi begged.
Hiccup: Uh...
Snotlout: I love this plan!
"I didn't even say what the plan was." Hiccup retorted.
"Given the circumstances, it was fairly obvious." Snotlout remarked.
Hiccup: I didn't...
Ruffnut: You're crazy! I like that...
"Sorry girl, he's already taken." Jack teased, making Hiccup and Astrid blush and Toothless laugh.
Astrid: So? What is the plan?
"Thank you Astrid." Hiccup said.
Astrid punched his arm to shut him up.
[As the ships moved through the fog, the vikings noticed a Berkian ship impaled on a rocky spike.]
Gobber: Ah. I was wondering where that went.
Stoick: Stay low and ready your weapons. We're here.
[The boats finally arrived at the island. Stoick looked around and saw a red tail slide into a crack in the side of the mountain.]
"They have no idea on what's in store for them." GoGo said. Her friends nodded in agreement.
[At the arena, Hiccup has released the Monstrous Nightmare. He gently guides it toward Snotlout, who is scared and grabs a spear head. Astrid lightly smacks his arm.]
Astrid: Uh-uh.
Merida chuckled. "Guess he's not lovin the plan anymore now, is he?"
Snotlout snorted. "What? No. I wasn't scared."
"Sure you weren't." Fishlegs retorted.
[Hiccup reaches Snoutlout and gently grabs his arm, guiding towards the Nightmare.]
Snotlout: Wait! What are you-?!
Hiccup: Relax. It's okay... it's okay.
[He switches his hand with Snotlout's hand. Snotlout bonds with the Nightmare. Snotlout breathes heavily, letting out an laugh as the feeling of fear.]
"It's kind of hard to believe this was the same aggressive dragon from earlier." Ruby said.
Hiccup nodded in agreement.
Snotlout, surprisingly, didn't boast or do anything egotistical. Instead, he was reminiscing the feeling of that moment. A smile spread across his face.
[Hiccup walked over to a box on the side of the arena.]
Snotlout: Where are you going?!
[Hiccup pulls out some rope.]
Hiccup: You're going to need something to help you hold on.
[The teens glance at the three other dragons, all out of their cages.]
"Are the dragons paired with their rider based on similarities?" Rapunzel asked.
Hiccup nodded. "For Fishlegs and Meatlug, the Gronckle, they both have a reputation for being gentle giants and are quite nimble despite their large frames. Snotlout and Hookfang, the Monstrous Nightmare, although hot headed at times, can become very reliable when it comes down to it. As for Ruffnut and Tuffnut and Barf and Belch, the Hideous Zippleback, even though there's constant arguing, bith parties function best as a unit, plus they know each other better than anyone, the same goes for both dragon heads. Finally. Astrid and Stormfly, the Deadly Nadder, are quick and light on their feet and are also the beautiful but deadly type."
As soon as Hiccup finished, he realized what he said at the end and immediately blushed, He looked at Astrid who also blushed. They looked away from each other. It didn't help that everyone around them were giving knowing smirks.
And that's a wrap.
So we're nearing the end of the first movie. Once that happens, a big part of this story will have been completed. But before we get to the second movie, there will be an intermission plus a couple of surprises.
Can you all guess what they are? No, it's not more movies being added to the story, I already have alot as is.
Anyways, be sure to share this story and leave a review. And remember, reviews involving asking for updates or "When will the next chapter be?" will be automatically ignored.
I want actual reviews please. And I don't want to have to keep posting the post where I actually have to ask you guys to review before posting the actual next chapter.
Also, when I do, be sure to post the review on the chapter before the "Asking for Reviews" chapter.
Because, fun fact, in the reviews section, it actually shows you what chapter the reader posted a review on.
That's all. Until next time.
Se ya! Probably wanna be ya!
