It automatically cuts to morning time with Percy suddenly waking up and coughing once before blinking rapidly to get rid of the assault of light on his face. When his vision became focused, he looked at the white board in the kitchen to show that he wrote something.
GET ANNABETH BACK
GO ROUND MUM'S
SORT LIFE OUT
Over in the living room, Percy walked out to see Grover sleeping on the couch. "You want anything from the shop?" Percy asked.
"Cornetto." Grover said, tucking the blanket further into him. Percy walked out of the house and towards the shop. Out in the distance, several people could be seen shambling slowly. Percy tripped on the curb once more, with the jogger from yesterday running away, instead of jogging. Percy entered the shop and went to the refrigerator where he grabbed a Coke, before putting it back and grabbing a Diet Coke. He almost slipped on some liquid but saved himself. He went to the counter and grabbed a Cornetto, noticing the lack of newspapers.
"Nelson, you got any papers?" The radio then switched to a man shouting in Hindi. "Nelson?" Percy asked before sighing. "I owe you about 15 p!" He called out, missing Nelson walking out in the back of the shop.
Percy walked out and back towards his house, opening the Diet Coke. He passed by the homeless man from before, now a zombie who tried reaching for him. "Sorry, haven't got any change. I didn't even have enough at the fucking shop so... Drop dead." Percy made it back inside the house, accidentally keeping the door slightly cracked.
"Your lack of awareness is truly astonishing, Jackson." Athena commented in a dry tone.
"I'm surprised he didn't get eaten." Ares said.
"If these are the brain eating kind, then Percy and Grover are safe." Leo snickered.
"Yeah screw you too, Valdez." Percy glared at him with his arms crossed.
When they got to the part where Percy left the door slightly cracked, many who watched horror movies knew what was about to happen. "Oh gods damn it..." Percy groaned while slapping his palm on his face.
"So, how many do you think will come in before they notice?" Hazel asked in worry.
"I'd rather not know." Grover whined while rubbing the sweat off of his palms. "Gods, I need some aluminum to eat." Grover was starting to get nervous.
Two empty aluminum cans landed in his hands, turning to the Chaos member host. "What? My family doesn't like people being hungry. Plus, I doubt this place serves aluminum cans to be eaten." Xion explained.
Grover began eating while everyone watched with nervousness.
Percy sat down on the couch, his feet on the table as he turned the TV on. A news reporter spoke, "Although no one is prepared to comment, religious groups are calling it Judgment Day. There's-"
"Panic on the streets of London!"
"As an increasing number of reports on-"
"Serious attacks on-"
"People who are literally being-"
"Eaten alive."
"The witness reports are sketchy. One unifying detail seems to be that the attackers in many instances appear to be-"
"Dead excited to have with us here. A sensational chart topper-"
Percy began to take notice as he clicked a channel back and leaned forward on the couch. "Or ideological connection between those committing the atrocities and perhaps more alarmingly."
"There's a girl in the garden." Grover commented, his body encased by the curtain.
Percy turned towards him and asked, "What?"
Grover moved the curtains off and pointed to the glass door. "In the garden, there is a girl."
Percy was confused as he put the TV remote down and stood up. He walked to the door before opening the curtains to see a woman standing in the backyard.
"Ah, crap." Piper sighed with a hand to her head. "Welp, hopefully Leo is correct."
"I must say, the timing of each channel switch was quite exquisite." Paul commented.
"Shame they're not paying attention!" Annabeth groaned in her hands.
Athena sighed as she rubbed her eyes to try and nurse the headache that was coming.
"Idiots, the whole lot of them." Zeus said with a shake of his head.
"At least they're not thinking with they're cocks." Ares said which earned him several chuckles from everyone but Zeus and Hera.
The two were out in the backyard, looking at the girl that had their back to them. "Excuse me?" Percy called out to the girl but got no answer. "Excuse me? Hello?"
Still no answer so Grover picked up a rock and threw it at her. "Oi!"
Percy winced at the impact but it got results as the girl slowly turned around. Her face was pale and her eyes were almost closed. Percy and Grover were both surprised at this. "Oh my God..."
"FINALLY!! They start noticing!" Percy exclaimed with his hands thrown up in the air.
"She's so drunk." Percy said, laughing at the scene with Grover.
"And I take it back." Percy sighed while lowering his hands down.
The girl started to walk towards them. Grover joked, "How much have you had, love?" When he noticed that the girl was walking towards Percy, he commented. "Oop! Think she likes you."
"Shut up." Percy laughed.
"I think she wants to cuddle."
Percy put his hands up, "No seriously, I just came out of a relationship-" The girl suddenly tackled Percy to the ground, making him push her back while laughing. "Grover, do something!"
Instead of helping his friend, Grover walked towards the door, "Wait there."
Percy was shocked and confused about what Grover was doing, "Grover!?"
"Two seconds!" Grover said before walking into the house.
"We're screwed." Grover started gnawing on his can.
"I swear to Chaos, if my son dies in that universe, I will find a way to that place and I am going to flood that entire country!" Poseidon snarled, his eyes glowing bright green.
"I can arrange that." Xion said with a cheeky smile.
"Be calm brother." Hestia said, placing her hand on Poseidon's arm. This caused him to close his eyes and take a deep long breath.
Nico and Hades actually felt something was not quite right with these zombies, it's just at the moment they couldn't figure it out. Hazel looked at Nico and asked, "What's wrong, Nico?"
Nico shook his head. "Nothing, thought I noticed something."
Percy pushed the girl up by her chin as she groaned and snarled. "Look, jeez, I'm really flattered and everything, but-" He stopped when he noticed that something was seriously wrong with the girl.
Grover stepped out, holding a camera. "And hold it there!" Percy looked at the camera, making the girl look as well with a goofy smile on her face due to his hand on her chin. Grover took a picture, flash going into both of their eyes.
"Grover, just get her off me!" Percy shouted. Grover finally grabbed the girl and pulled her off of him. She snarled at him, and Grover noticed her eyes were completely white before being pushed away.
"What's up with her- What's up with her eyes?" Grover asked, looking at Percy who stood up back up.
"Now seriously... Uh..." Percy noticed her name badge was Mary. "Uh Mary. I'm warning. I'm gonna have to get physical." The zombie kept walking towards him. "This is it! I'm gonna- FUCK OFF!" Percy shouted while pushing her away even further.
The zombie stumbled back before being impaled on a small rusted pole, making Percy gasp and put a hand to his mouth in shock.
"If that wasn't a zombie, he would have actually won that fight." Ares said.
"It's the head damage zombies, aren't they?" Artemis asks.
"Most likely." Apollo said as the three children of Zeus groaned at the same time.
"Wow that was nasty..." Percy said with a wince.
"Oh gods..." Grover said, putting his hand to his mouth to stop himself from vomiting.
"Huh, not the worst injury I've seen a zombie take." Xion said.
"Injury?" Hazel asked with wide eyes.
"What was the the worst injury?" Thalia asked.
"Sorry, I don't have the full list of what you will be watching." Xion said.
That's when the girl began to rise up for the pole, leaving a large gaping hole in her stomach. Both Percy and Grover were shocked at the sight when Grover started rolling the camera for another picture but Percy smacked it out of his hand. "I think we should go back inside." Percy said.
"Ok." Grover said and they turned around only to find themselves face to face with a giant fat zombie with his lips bitten off, exposing his teeth.
They looked on in shock before a quick transition showed that they were inside, no wounds on them. Percy was trying the phone to call 999. "Percy, what's going on?" Grover asked.
"Shit it's engaged." Percy said, removing the phone from his ear.
"How about an ambulance?"
"It's engaged, Grover."
"... Fire Engine?"
"It's one number, Grover! And it's busy, ok? What would you even want a fire engine for any way?"
Grover turned towards him, "Anything with flashing lights, you know?"
Percy was slightly worried as he asked, "They still out there?"
Grover opened the curtains to show the two zombies scratching against the glass. "Yeah." Grover said. "What do you think we should do?"
Percy then shrugged, "Have a sit down?"
"Wait, what happened?" Jason asked as confused as all the other guest. "How they get back inside and not get hurt?"
"There's another door to the house. There was two of them, they just went to the one that was further down." Nick explained.
As soon as Other Percy said 'Have a sit down?'. Percy in the theater said, "And what, 'wait for all of this blow over'?" He asked in a fake British accent.
"I really hope that isn't their plan." Annabeth said, putting a hand to her head.
Xion tapped Nick's shoulder, requesting him to continue before she laughs out loud.
The two sat down on the couch to listen to the news reporter that continued to report about the situation. Grover turned to Percy and asked, "You think this is the same thing?"
Percy looked at him like he was dumb. The screen moved to show that a zombie made it inside of the house through the cracked door.
"Oh crap..." Percy and Grover said in unison.
"And this is why you close the door!" Piper complained.
"Well let this be a lesson, boys." Sally said, though she was worried for them both.
The two continued listening to the news, "Ensure all residences are secure, and that all doors are firmly locked and barricaded." This made the two widen their eyes and look at each other before looking to their right to see a zombie moaning and looking at them.
Percy and Grover screamed and jumped up from the couch. "OH FOR GOD'S SAKE! OH HE'S GOT AN ARM OFF!" The zombie in question was a man in a gray suit that was missing his left arm. He was from Saturday morning behind Percy at the store.
"Get him!" Grover shouted before they started throwing miscellaneous things at the zombie. Including magazines, controllers, pizza boxes, and a pillow before Grover grabbed an ashtray and bashed it over the zombie's head, piercing its brain. Percy looked absolutely shocked as he put his hands to his head. It became silent before Percy pointed to the door. "I'm gonna shut the front door..." He said before walking away.
When the zombie showed up, everyone's reaction was one of panic. Both Athena and Ares were in a mental agreement that everything Grover was throwing was useless but they all were glad to see him throw an ashtray, something that could actually damage the skull. Once it was down, they both silently agreed to never talk about this again. Then when Percy goes to shut the door, Hazel of all people shouted. "Finally!"
"Good job, Grover! First zombie kill of the day!" Percy cheered for him, shaking his shoulder.
"Great, now the three others." Leo said.
"What do you mean, there's only two." Jason questioned his best friend.
"He means Clarisse." Frank said, feeling a little down for his Greek sister.
Percy and his Greek friends had a realization. "Ooooh..." They honestly forgot that Clarisse got bit.
After a bunch of clicks, showing that the door was locked, Percy made his way back to Grover who was still staring at the zombie. "You see his head go?" Grover asked which made Percy look at him with an expression that said, 'What the fuck, dude?'
Noises started to get louder, which made the two look towards the back door where the two zombies were still trying to get through the door. "We should get out there." Grover said with confidence.
Percy immediately rejected it, "No no no no, we should stay here."
"Come on, we can take 'em!"
"Look, the man said for us to stay indoors."
"Ugh, fuck the man!"
"Look, as long as they're out there and we're in there, we're safe!" Percy said before the sound of glass breaking was heard, showing that the zombies broke their arms through the door. They were one step closer to getting inside. That's when the news reporter was heard once more, "The attackers can be stopped by removing the head or destroying the brain. I'll repeat that: by removing the head or destroying the brain."
Percy and Grover looked at each other before a quick montage showed the two grabbing various objects like silverware.
"So standard rules." Leo said.
"Yeah, but doesn't Britain have strict gun laws?" Thalia asked to which Ares nodded. "So they have to either have to throw some heavy and/or hard stuff at their heads or go into melee against zombies." Thalia deduced.
"And I doubt common silverware will do much against them." Athena commented.
"Oh please find something good against them." Percy prayed with exasperation.
Out in the backyard, Percy whistled loudly which got the zombies' attention and turned around to the two. They had a laundry basket filled with miscellaneous kitchen items. The two looked at each other before Grover said, "Aim for the head."
They began throwing the items which did nothing but either miss or just bounce off of the zombies harmlessly as they slowly made their way to the two. The last straw was when Percy threw the empty laundry basket which missed. "Now what?" Percy asked.
"We'll have to get more stuff. What's in the shed?" Grover asked.
"I don't know, it's locked." Percy replied.
"Why is it locked!?"
"It's always been locked!"
"Well we're gonna have to-" Grover said before noticing the vinyl record from last night on the floor. He picked it up with Percy immediately trying to stop him.
"No no no no! That's the second I've ever bought! NO!" Percy exclaimed as Grover threw the record. Spectacularly, the record hit the fat zombie in the face and broke, but part of it was stuck in his eye.
The two looked at each other before they made up their new plan.
"You have got to be kidding me." Annabeth said in disbelief at what she just saw.
"Dang, talk about-" Apollo pulled out a pair of sunglasses and put them on. "Killer Music." Apollo would than be hit by multiple chairs as all his siblings in the room threw their own seats at the sun god.
"That was pathetic!" Ares shouted.
"Get better material!" Hermes added.
"I will not suffer any of your stupid puns!" Artemis said, her eyes glowing bright silver.
"That... that wasn't even... 'punny!'" Athena said as she actually struggles to come up with an insult.
Artemis gestured to Athena who, for the first time for the mortals to see, seemingly have a mental breakdown. "We talked about this, Athena breaks whenever you make your stupid puns!"
Annabeth was staring at her mother in complete confusion at how she could be breaking from something as simple as a pun.
Athena began to shake and stutter at Apollo's pun. Seeing this, Zeus walked over to his daughter before pulling her into a hug, this seemed to help calm her down but she was still stuttering. Zeus gave Apollo a glare before saying in a low tone. "You'll be punish for breaking your sister when we return home." Which caused Apollo to sweat nervously, after all Zeus wasn't the best father, that didn't mean he doesn't care when it matters... even if it was every other blue moon.
"Wow..." Thalia more or less whispered. Surprised that her father was acting like a father.
A quick cut happened before the duo set down a large chest filled with vinyl records. "Now some of these are limited-" Before Percy could say more, Grover pulled the first vinyl out and threw it which unfortunately missed. "Woah woah woah! What was that!?" Percy exclaimed in panic.
"Uhh, I think it was Blue Monday." Grover replied with a wince, holding the cover for it.
"Grover, that was an original pressing." Percy said in exasperation.
Grover just sighed as an reply. "For fuck's sake." Before the two began to look through the case for vinyls they didn't want. "Purple Rain." Grover asked.
"No." Percy shook his head.
"Signs O' The Times."
"Definitely not."
"The Batman Soundtrack."
"Throw it." Percy said, to which Grover pulled the record out and threw which unfortunately missed. Making the two groan before continuing to look through the records.
"You can't be serious..." Leo said, before turning to the two and crying out. "How could you throw the Batman soundtrack away!?"
"Mostly because you can find it everywhere." Apollo said slightly annoyed.
"It's not even going to kill them!" Annabeth exclaimed.
"I'm sure these two idiots will find a way." Nico commented only to be smacked in she arm by Hazel.
"Be nice, they're trying their best." Hazel said.
"Given Percy's luck, I'm sure they'll somehow kill them." Jason said.
"Dire Straits?" Grover asked.
"Throw it." Percy said with a scoff. Grover pulled the record out and threw it, which collided with the young woman's cheek, making the two exclaim before going back to it.
"Stone Roses." Grover said.
"Uh, no." Percy shook his head.
Grover looked at him before clarifying, "Second Coming."
"I like it."
That's when Grover pulled out a vinyl record. "Oooh! Sade."
"That's Annabeth's." Percy said, trying to preserve that one.
"Yeah, but she did dump you." Grover threw it which collided with the fat zombie's midsection. Percy had enough and stood up.
"Oh, fuck this! I'm going to the shed." Percy said, walking towards the shed.
"I thought you said it was locked." Grover pointed out, confused before Percy collided against the door, breaking it apart.
"Why didn't I do that in the first place!?" Percy exclaimed.
"That's a good question." Grover agreed.
"I'd say because I wasn't there, but honestly you are clever on your own." Annabeth stated, before turning back to the screen. "So, why didn't you do that in the first place?"
"Horror Comedy." Xion said.
"While we're on the subject, "How could you throw out Sade?" Apollo asked, saddened by such a wonderful artist. Being the God of Music, he had an extremely good sense of taste in music.
"Break ups, brother. Bad break ups." Hermes pat his brother's shoulder.
A quick scene change showed Percy and Grover with a weapon. Percy held a cricket bat while Grover had a spade in hand. They had a fierce confident look on their faces as they stared down the zombies. "Which one you want? Girl or the bloke?" Grover asked.
"Uhh... The first one." Percy replied before they switched places. That's when they charged up to them and hit them on the heads. The two zombies went down and Percy and his friend began to repeatedly hit them. Blood began to spray onto their clothing and face as their attacks got fiercer and they began to yell with each hit.
Suddenly, the two were back in the living room, Percy had a cup of coffee in his hand while Grover was enjoying the Cornetto that Percy bought him. Grover looked at his friend before commenting, "You've got red on you."
Everyone had a chuckle when Percy and Grover switched places after getting their weapons. The room was silent as the watch the zombies' being brutally killed, it only continued as they see them on the coach in their own silences until Grover broke it.
"Huh, wonder if its the shock?" Annabeth said, not even fazed at what she just saw.
"Maybe. Probably because the other me hadn't ever killed anything before." Percy said, unfazed as well. All of them have had to kill someone or something in their life so death was not a stranger to them. Even Percy had to kill the demigods that chose to serve under Kronos, he did his best to not, but not everyone could be saved.
So to see a version of himself shocked by what he had to do, it almost made him nostalgic about a time when he was just a young kid, trying to do his best to make his mom proud and get through school without incident.
"Pretty sure the Satyr has red on him too, so why would he comment about Jackson?" Ares asked.
"My guess is to break the silence." Artemis said as Athena was finally starting to calm down. "Well clearly it's not helping." Athena said, taking a deep breath.
Percy looked at his shirt before paying attention to the TV as the news reporter said, "If you know someone who has been bitten, it is ABSOLUTELY essential that you isolate them immediately."
Percy and Grover looked up at the ceiling, before looking at each other in realization. The two went to the bottom of the stairs and Percy started calling out to Clarisse.
"Clarisse? Clarisse?"
"Why don't we just go up?" Grover asked, walking to the foot of the stairs only for Percy to stop him.
"Wait, no! Don't go up there." Percy said.
"Why not?"
Percy put two fingers up. "Because A. She might be one of them. And B. She might still be annoyed. Clarisse?" He called out once more before theorizing. "Maybe she went to work."
Grover looked to the hanger that held the keys. He grabbed Clarisse's car keys. "How come she didn't drive? Her keys are still here."
"Well maybe she got a lift, she said she wasn't feeling very well." Percy replied before calling out. "Clarisse!"
That's when Grover decided to shout out, "OI BITCH!" The silence meant one thing to them as they said in unison, "She's not in."
Annabeth and Percy both knew how… volatile Clarisse could be and looked at each other both remembering that she had been bitten and both had the same thought running through their heads. 'She's turned.'
"Well... Shit." Ares said, surprised by how... Sad he was that his daughter turned into a zombie. Even if it wasn't shown, it was clear to those who knew her.
Frank slammed his head to his hands and quietly crused. "Fucking dammit." Sally didn't throw a shoe at Frank because she knew he was angry, and sad, that one of his siblings was now a zombie.
Percy wrapped an arm around Frank's shoulders, "I'm sorry, Frank. I wish something could be done about it." Frank simply growled as his teeth sharpened in an ursan-like form, but stop once he felt Hazel's hands gently hold his own which helped him calm himself down.
Grover sniffed as he finished his Cornetto before asking, "You got a fag?"
This made some of the kids spit out their drinks and Ares laughed out loud. "By Olympus, that came out of nowhere!" Ares laughed as he held his sides.
"Uhh, what does he mean by... Fag?" Hazel asked, her sweet innocence was all that protected her from what that meant.
"Uh, it's another term for a cigarette in Britain. Here... It's a derogatory term for gay people." Paul explained, like a teacher would.
Nico growled in annoyance, heard one too many Karens calling him that when he went out with Will. Hades heard his son growl and frowned. It seemed there was something that would need to be discussed about.
"Nah, I've given up." Percy replied.
Grover scoffed, "Since when?"
"Since..." Percy had a realization and ran to the kitchen. It cut to the fridge where a picture of Percy and Annabeth were goofing off in a photo booth before Percy attempted to call her phone only to get the engaged tone, "Babe... Oh she's engaged."
Grover pulled out a jug of milk, "That was quick." He joked.
"Grover, this is serious." His phone suddenly rang and he answered it. "Annabeth!?"
That's when the voice of his mother was heard, "Percy!"
"Mum, hi! I was gonna try calling you, are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm fine."
"Well, are you sure?"
"Some men tried to get into the house." Sally admitted.
"Are they still there!?"
"I'm not sure, we shut the curtains."
"Well, did you try the police?"
"Well... I thought about it."
"Well are you okay? Did they hurt you?"
"No I'm fine. I'm fine."
"Mum..."
"Well... They were a bit... Bitey."
Percy almost freaked out as he put a hand to his head, "Mum, have you been bitten?"
"No... But Paul has." Sally revealed to which Percy sighed in relief, "Oh ok."
Grover walked over and asked, "Has she been bitten?"
"No, Paul has."
"Oh ok."
Percy had to stop himself from screaming at his other self for his disregard of his stepfather's condition. Instead, he reacted about Paul, "No no no no no!" Percy shouted.
"Oh, no." Sally covered her mouth with her hands as tears started to form in her eyes as Paul gently pulled her into a hug.
Annabeth put a hand to her mouth, she met Paul a few times and she knew how much of a stand up guy he was, and how much he meant to both Sally and Percy. "Oh Percy..." Annabeth said, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend to give him some comfort.
Paul himself, was stirring with this knowledge that he had been bitten. He just only hoped that he'd get taken out quickly and cleanly.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry Paul..." Percy whispered, unsure if his stepdad heard him.
Paul looked towards his step son with sympathetic eyes before standing up and hugged him from behind. "Hey, it's alright Percy. I know you care. You're nothing like this counterpart, you're better than him. You just have to take it in stride." He said, rubbing Percy's shoulder in a comforting manner while he took deep breaths to calm down.
After a few minutes, Percy's breathing slowly died down until he was calm enough. "I'm... I'm good. I'm good to go. Thanks... Thanks Paul."
Paul smiled and ruffled his hair, "Anytime, sport." Before sitting back down with Sally who gently hugged him.
"Listen mum, what sort of state is he in?" Percy asked.
"Oh he's fine! Bit under the weather!" Sally replied in a cheery tone.
"I see..." Percy said, thinking about the situation.
"What's the deal?" Grover asked.
Percy took the phone off of his ear and replied to his friend, "We may have to kill my stepdad." Before putting the phone back on. "Ok, listen mum, sit tight alright? You're not safe there, we're coming over!"
"I don't want to cause a fuss!" Sally said.
Grover interjected himself into the conversation by shouting into the phone, "We're coming to get you, Sally!"
Ares then had a laugh as he realized, "Reminds me of a quote from Night of the Living Dead."
"So do we have a plan or are we just going to make it up as we go like we normally do?" Percy asked.
"I really hope you have a plan because improvising can only get you so far." Annabeth said, still rubbing his back to give him some sense of comfort.
"But one must always be ready to improvise when your plan goes astray." Athena commented.
"There are only four rules you need to remember: Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails, throw away the plan." Ares added, with a chuckle.
"Quite the strategy." Artemis said in a dry tone.
Back in the living room, Grover was sitting on a chair while Percy was pacing back and forth. "So what's the plan?" Grover asked.
Percy put his hands together, "Right." The screen suddenly changed to the two getting inside of Clarisse's car and driving off. "We take Clarisse's car. We drive over to Mum. We go in. Take care of Paul."
The two made it inside of Mum's house and Paul turned around in front of the two friends. His skin was pale and his eyes were bright and blank. "I'm so sorry, Paul." Percy said before the two hit him on both sides of the head with their respective weapons.
"We grab Mum! Drive over to Annabeth's place, hold up, have a cup of tea, and wait for all of this to blow over." Percy said over footage of him and Grover grabbing Sally's hands with a smile before parking in front of Annabeth's apartment building where she waved them in with a smile. Then they were in her living room enjoying cups of tea with Grover dipping a biscuit inside of Sally's cup. Percy looked at the camera and winked while taking a sip.
Everyone began to laugh as Percy's earlier comment came true. Percy with disbelief on his face could only say. "Irrumabo."
Jason, Annabeth, Hazel, and Frank laughed a little louder as they were the only ones that understood Latin to know what Percy said.
"That's amazing! You predicted yourself!" Apollo laughed.
The only ones not laughing were Zeus, Hera, and Athena. Mostly because the couple didn't care about him. While Athena was mostly losing brain cells at the Son of Poseidon's plan. "Shut up, Apollo." Percy groaned, it was a good thing that Apollo was more outgoing than the other gods to not take it as an insult and just laughed harder.
Back at Percy's house, Grover was confused. "Why we have to go around Annabeth's?"
"Cuz we do." Percy simply replied.
"She dumped you!" Grover pointed out.
"I have to know if she's alright."
"Why?"
"Because I love her!" Percy exclaimed.
Annabeth couldn't help but smile at that proclamation. Even when her counterpart dumped him, he still shows off that loyalty that made her grateful to have him in her life.
"That is so sweet. Oh I hope they make it through this so they can get back together." Aphrodite cooed.
Percy didn't want to agree with the goddess, considering what she's put him through, but he too wanted them to survive long enough to get back together. Because the truth was, no one else compared to Annabeth. All the other women in his life had their own qualities, but Annabeth was the only one in his sights.
Grover then sighed in exasperation, "Alright gay. I'm not staying there though."
Percy was a little insulted by being called gay, but was more confused by his later sentence. "Why not?"
Grover then held up a couple fingers, "If we hold up, I want to be somewhere familiar, I wanna know where the exits are, and I wanna be allowed to smoke."
Percy then took a deep breath, "Ok."
The plan started the same way with Clarisse's car though it went a little faster. "We take Clarisse's car, go 'round Mum's, deal with Paul." The two went in and hit Paul in the head again, "Sorry Paul."
"Grab Mum, go to Annabeth's, pick her up, bring her back here. Have a cup of tea, and wait for all this to blow over." The plan was followed by a change with Percy holding Annabeth bridal-style before they were back in the house laughing and enjoying a cup of tea before Percy winked at the camera once more.
"But isn't Clarisse bitten upstairs?" Hazel pointed out much to Frank's slightly soured look, hoping they don't kill his Greek Sister as a joke, she deserved better than that.
"I think they said, or they think she's not even in the house anymore." Nico replied, scratching his head.
"And did a pretty crap job on making sure the entire house is empty." Ares commented with a cross of his arms.
"Besides, why would they go back to the house that's already had three zombies infiltrate it? It's not safe at all, and they're better off going somewhere else." Piper said.
"What, like the Winchester?" Leo asked.
"That's ridiculous, a pub isn't the most secure place in the event of an apocalypse. Especially one infested with zombies." Annabeth said.
"I'm gonna call it now, my dumbass counterpart decides that's the most secure place to go." Percy called out.
"Anybody got drachmas to bet?" Hermes asked.
"I'll take that action." Apollo said with a grin before Athena said with a shake of her head, "That's a fool's bet."
Artemis threw some in. "Bet Thalia would find a better place."
"Well thank you Mi'lady." Thalia said, a prideful smirk on her face from the knowledge that her patron goddess has faith in her.
Artemis gave Thalia a playful wink before going serious. "But if this idiot version of Jackson is able to beat you, you're going to be the prey for the training."
Thalia was shocked at the sudden switch before looking away. "Wow... Ok then, I take back every single compliment I ever gave you."
Jason patted his sister's shoulder before paying attention to the screen once more.
Grover accepted this plan and exclaimed, "Perfect!"
Percy on the other hand, shook his head and put his hands to his face. "No, no, no, no! We can't bring them back here."
"Why not?"
"Well it's not exactly that safe, is it?" Percy asked, suggesting at the mess and the dead zombie in the living room.
"Yeah... The state of it." Grover saw his point as he looked around. Percy tried to think of another location for them to go to. "Where's safe... Where's familiar?" Percy asked our loud.
"Where can I smoke?" Grover added. It was silent for a few moments before both of their eyes widened with an idea before Percy inhaled.
Same deal, the two were in the car driving to Sally's house. "Take car, go to Mum's, kill Paul." The two hit Paul in the head once more. "Sorry!"
"Grab Annabeth, go to the Winchester, have an ice cold pint, and wait for all this blow over." Percy held Annabeth and they drove to the pub before enjoying their drinks with John and Bernie laughing in the background. Percy sipped the pint with yet another wink to the camera.
Back at the house, Percy had a confident grin on his face. "How's that for a slice of fried gold?"
Grover stood up in excitement, "Yeah boiiii!" The two clashed their weapons together like a fist bump. The news reporter then spoke up on the TV. "It is vital that you stay in your homes. Make no attempt to reach loved ones and avoid all physical contact with the assailants."
Grover looked at Percy and asked with a raised eyebrow, "You believe everything you hear on TV?" Percy answered that question by turning the TV off.
"Oh come on!" Leo shouted. "You'd be zombie food if it wasn't for him!" Jason and Piper pat Leo at both of his shoulders.
"Some rules, Leo... Are simply meant to be broken." Percy said, letting his inner anti-authoritarianism slip out. "Also called it!"
"We're going to drop like flies." Annabeth said as Grover, Jason, Piper, Paul and Sally nod in agreement together.
"What next, you gonna start betting on who's gonna die first?" Nico asked with a frown.
"You mean besides me?" Paul asked in a surprising joking tone.
"Please don't joke about stuff like that." Sally asked, a pained tone was in her voice which made everyone feel a little guilty.
"Sorry, we were just trying to lighten the mood." Paul said as he comforted his wife by rubbing her shoulder.
Sally took a deep breath and placed a hand on his, "I know. I just... Don't like that kind of humor."
Paul nodded in understanding, "Ok. We'll keep it to a minimum."
The scene changed to show Percy looking through the mail slot on the door, looking for Clarisse's car. "Yeah, I can see it. I can see it's just outside." Percy said.
Grover was bouncing slightly while spinning the shovel in his hand. "Any zombies out there?"
Percy closed the latch and looked at Grover. "Don't say that."
"What?" Grover asked in confusion.
"That."
"What?"
"That! The zed word. Don't say it."
"Why not?"
"Because it's ridiculous."
Grover rolled his eyes and sighed, "Alright! Are there any out there though?"
Percy looked back through the hole, "No, don't see any. Maybe it's not as bad as all that- Oh wait, there they are." Looking to the left, was a whole hoard of zombies just walking around behind the car. They were made up mostly of people from the neighborhood.
Percy moved away from the mail slot and stood up in front of Grover. "Ok, ready?"
"Yeah." Grover answered, trying to psych each other up.
"Yeah?
"Yeah."
"Yeah?
"Yeah!"
Percy took a deep breath before saying, "I gotta do a wee first." Before making his way up the stairs.
"Oh, can I drive?" Grover suddenly asked, making Percy stop to look at him questioningly. "What?"
"Well I've always wanted to drive Clarisse's car. I might not get another chance." Grover explained.
Percy just shrugged, not seeing a problem with that."Ok." Before tossing him the keys.
"Really? They're zombies." Ares said at the 'Zombie debate'. "After all, if it looks like shit, smell like shit, you don't have to taste it to know it's shit."
That resulted in three shoes being thrown at his head. "Ow! Stop that!" Ares shouted.
Sally simply glared at him and held up another shoe. "Then shut up and watch your mouth."
After that, most of the fun members of the group were getting hyped along with Percy and Grover before his wee comment, that just caused everyone, including Percy to laugh.
"Hygiene is important." Annabeth said with a giggle.
Then came Grover's request for the keys causing everyone who knew Grover to start to panic.
"Nooo!"
"Never again!"
"The nightmares!"
"I'm sorry, what are you all on about?" Athena asked with a raised eyebrow.
"The last time we let Grover drive... So many car crashes..." Percy explained with a shudder.
"He somehow drove with only the right side tires." Annabeth said, slightly shaking.
"And it only ended after he crashed into a Furry Con..." Thalia said as she had a horrific look on her face before turning to her Patron. "Mi'lady, can we please purge those degenerates?"
Artemis hummed as she tapped a finger to her chin. "They do dress up as animals… so they would be considered game to us…"
Thalia then tackled Artemis in a hug before shouting, "Thank you!"
Artemis was surprised by the unexpected hug while everyone, except for Percy and Annabeth and Nico, looked at her weirdly.
"Uhh... What's this about furries-" Jason began to ask before Nick spoke up. "Story for another time! Back to the movie!"
A quick montage showed Percy flushing the toilet before brushing his teeth and washing his hands. He looked into the mirror, with what was once depression, was now determination. Determination to survive. He looked at his work name badge before pulling it off and dropping it in the sink. He stared at himself before closing the mirror cabinet. Only to see a silhouette of a person in the shower, the curtain blocking any defining figures. Percy's eyes widened as he gulped before turning around to the shower and gently opened the curtains only to find... A nude Clarisse with blank white eyes with the right side of her body red from the hot water.
Everyone immediately exclaimed in disgust and turned away or covered their face with their hands. "Oh good gods, my eyes are burning!" Percy exclaimed.
"Did not need to fucking see that!" Frank shouted the loudest as he slammed both of his hands so hard to his head, it knocked himself off his chair. Aphrodite and Ares seem to be the only ones not affected by what they're seeing on scene.
Nick looked at his tablet. "Hold on, one second." He messed around with the settings before blurring out Clarisse's nude body. "Ok, there. Now that won't scar you guys for life.
"Too late there." Percy groaned.
"You forgot that was there, did you?" Xion asked the host with a cheeky smirk.
"Kind of, yeah. Also to be fair... The original was a man." Nick said, scratching the back of his head.
Percy immediately shut the curtain and groaned before beginning to back away towards the door. "Ahhh! Oh god! Sorry, uh Clarisse. Listen uhh, we're gonna borrow your car, okay?"
Clarisse's hand shut up from the curtains which made Percy jump and scream quickly before continuing. "We'll bring it back, and-and if you're feeling any better later... We're um..." Clarisse stepped a foot out of the tub while her expression showed that she was glaring at Percy as he finished his talk. "We're going to the pub. So you're more than welcome to..." His back hit the door as he whispered the final two words. "Join us."
Clarisse just made a raspy moan as she reached out with her hands before Percy quickly opened the door and closed it behind him before sprinting down the stairs.
Grover was spinning the keys on his finger as he stated, "Clarisse'll be so pissed off if she knew I was driving her car, eh?"
Percy just said in a shaken tone, "Don't think so." Before exiting the house with Grover in tone.
"Percy, Percy, which button's central locking?" Grover asked, and suddenly Percy was hit in the face by a football to which they looked to see the kid from yesterday now a zombie. Grover pressed a button and the car alarm went off which made the zombies turn their attention to the two.
Grover groaned angrily as he pressed the button to stop the alarm, "Ugh, cock it!" Before shoving his weapon into Percy's hand and sprinted towards the driver's side of the car. He pushed the zombie kid away, "Get lost!" Before the two climbed inside.
Nico and Hades had that weird feeling again with both Clarisse and the kid but couldn't really pinpoint why though.
"Ow." Percy rubbed his face by reflex, not feeling actual pain but watching yourself get hit does some mental shit to ones' head.
"Oh that PTSD is starting to resurface..." Thalia said, referring to Grover trying to figure out how to start the car.
"Come on, I can't be that bad in this universe." Grover said, trying to make things sound better.
Percy put on his seatbelt while Grover started the car. Percy looked around and saw Clarisse open the door before looking to see a zombified Nelson reaching out for something. "Drive!" Percy said.
Grover stepped on it and they began to drive off. The radio turned on and a woman began to speak. "The Church of England has joined other extremist religious groups in proclaiming the phenomenon a sign of the coming apocalypse."
Percy was horrified as they drove by a scene of a zombie grabbing a child that held a baby while the father and another child ran off. Then he saw a body bag ruffling around, as if the dead were alive inside.
"Although Downing Street is refusing to be drawn into a religious debate. Once again, the bodies of the recently deceased are returning to life and attacking the living." The radio announcer said before Grover held a cassette tape.
"Let's put something else on." Grover said before sliding it into the radio player and loud rock music began to play.
Percy asked, "What're you doing?" A person stood in the middle of the street and Percy shouted, "Grover, look out!"
The car hit the person who went over the vehicle and tumbled off the back. The car stopped and the two looked at the back window. "I think we hit something..." Grover said.
They switched their gaze to the left side mirror as Percy finished. "... Or someone." Grover accidentally honked the car and Percy jumped and hit his head on the window. "Ow!"
Everyone was horrified at the scenes of the zombie attacks, and the religious groups news report wasn't helping. Apollo could feel he was being glared at and he didn't dare to turn to face Hazel's murderous gaze.
"See what we mean, Grover! Not even 5 minutes in, and you already ran over someone!" Thalia pointed with her whole hand towards the screen.
Grover shrunk down in his chair as he said in a nervous tone. "Really hope that was a zombie."
Grover backed the car up next to the body that they ran over. Just from what they saw, the body was covered in blood and his legs were completely broken. Percy rolled his window and called out, "You alright?"
Grover spoke up, "Percy let's go."
Percy ignored him as he called out once more. "Hello?"
"Percy, he's gonna be dead either way."
Percy looked back towards him, "Grover, that's not the point."
Suddenly, the snapping of bones could be heard, making the two look at the body to see it look at them and snarl, showing that it was a zombie. Percy sighed in relief, "Oh thank God for that." Grover put the song back on and continued to drive.
Soon they made it to Sally's house and the most beautiful thing in existence was parked in front of the house. A Dark green 1986 Jaguar Sovereign V12.
"Oh hello! Who's a pretty boy then?" Grover asked as he parked the car and whistled at the sight of it. "You didn't tell me Sally owned a Jag. I've always wanted to drive one of those cars."
"Yeah well it's Paul's, okay? And he won't let anybody near it. Honestly, I put half a Mars Bar in the glove box and he chased me around the garden with a bit of wood." Percy explained before looking around to see if there were any zombies.
"Fuck... It's gorgeous." Grover said with a desire in his eyes.
"Ok, it seems pretty clear, we should go." Percy said, preparing to climb out. That's when Grover had an idea.
"Why don't I stay here?" Grover suggested.
Percy looked back at him in confusion before stammering, "Wh-wh-wh-wh-what?"
"You know? Look after the car, if there's any trouble…" He lightly tapped the honk button three times. "I'll honk three times."
Percy wanted to object but didn't really care either way, and just said, "Ok." Before climbing out. He zipped up his jacket and started to run to the house.
"Don't forget to kill Paul!" Grover called out to which Percy turned around. "What?" He asked before accidentally tripping.
Grover let out a sigh of relief at seeing he ran over a zombie, though it didn't help his closest friends' nerves. At first most of them didn't really care for the car models as long as it worked, although Annabeth had a sneaking suspicion about Grover's idea.
Hearing the Mars Bar story caused Percy to complain. "Seriously, what in Hades is going on!? This is sounding more like fucking Gabe than Paul." Sally allowed the curse to slide as it was directed to that waste of human flesh.
"Don't worry, you'll understand soon." Nick said, trying to calm him down.
A quick ring of the doorbell and Percy was inside the house. Sally was in her sixties but she still had that warm smile on her face, "Hey Pickle." She said as the two shared a hug.
"Hey Mom." Percy said with a smile.
Sally noticed the blood on her son's face and wiped a napkin on him. "Oh! You got red on you!"
Percy laughed slightly, "Yeah, uh hey Mom, where's Paul?"
The two began to walk down further into the house as Sally replied, "Dad's in the lounge."
Percy felt the need to point out, "He's not my dad."
Sally just signed in exasperation, "Oh Percy, really?"
Percy apologized, "Sorry, Mum. Um, listen I have a car outside and I need to take you somewhere safe."
"But we have to wait for the doctor." Sally said.
"Mum, I don't think the doctor's gonna come."
"I really don't think Paul's gonna want to leave the house-" Sally was saying before Percy politely interrupted her.
"Mum, Paul isn't-" Percy took a deep breath before kindly requesting. "Put the kettle on, and I'll deal with Paul."
Sally smiled, "Okay."
"Okay." Percy said before beginning to walk towards the living room.
"You hungry?" Sally asked.
"Yea- no. No no."
"I'll make some sandwiches. No fighting, you two!" Sally called out as Percy made his way to the living room where Paul was sitting in a chair, his eyes closed and his facial expression was neutral.
"No... Please don't do this." Percy said, holding Annabeth's hand tightly as he watched in a silent panic.
Percy raised the cricket bat above his head and whispered, "I'm so sorry, Paul."
"Why?" Paul suddenly asked, making Percy yelp and hide the bat behind his back. "What have you done now?"
"Nothing." Percy said kindly.
"What have you got there? Flowers, I hope?" Paul turned his head to look at Percy, his arm was in a sling.
"No... Cricket bat." Percy said, showing off the bat.
Many sighs of relief could be heard from the Jacksons and those closest to them. "Thank the gods you're still alive." Percy breathed out.
Annabeth laid her head down on Percy's shoulder. "It's gonna be ok, Percy." She said gently.
"Wait a minute, how long does it take to become a zombie?" Leo asked, causing several glares to be sent his way.
"10 to 20 minutes." Xion answered with a not so happy tone, already knowing what was to come.
"Fuck..." Percy said, the existential dread returned once more as he put his hands to his hair.
Annabeth then glared at Leo, "You had to ask. You just HAD to ask!"
Xion handed Sally a chancla. "Here you go if you want."
Sally took it but didn't do anything with it as she just glared at Leo as well. Paul then placed a hand on her shoulder, "Sally, dear... It's ok."
Leo shrunk into himself and let out a little whimper. "Let's continue." Xion suggested.
"Yeah, good idea." Nick then pressed play on his tablet.
Sally's voice suddenly called out as she brought a tray out. Spooking both Percy and Paul. "Oh is that for the jumble, Percy?"
"Uh no- yes!" Percy said, holding the bat.
"There's a box of your toys upstairs. I was going to give them to the jumble." Sally said as she took a couple tea cups.
"I took it all for the tip, Sally." Paul said which made Percy upset. "Oh, what?"
"Percy wants to take us somewhere." Sally then brought up Percy's reason for coming.
"Don't be silly, I'm not going anywhere." Paul scoffed.
"Well maybe you should stay here, and wait in case the doctor comes and I'll take Mum." Percy suggested.
Sally then looked to her son, "But you said the doctor wasn't coming." Before Percy would explain, Paul asked.
"You didn't call the doctor, did you?"
"Well I thought we should be on the safe side." Sally explained.
"I'm quite alright, Sally. I ran it under a cold tap. We had our jabs when we went to the Isle of Wight." Paul said with a shake of his head.
"But Paul-" Sally said in exasperation.
"It's a lot of overblown nonsense. Lot of drug nuts running around." Paul said, scoffing at the news of attacks.
"Still, I should get Mum away, in case they come back." Percy said before Sally looked at him.
"I'm not going anywhere without Paul!" Sally exclaimed.
"MUM!" Percy nearly shouted, making his parents look at him in surprise. Percy became more calm as he asked. "How about that tea?"
"Drug nuts... Sure. That's another word for zombies." Jason said, sipping on his drink.
"I mean, from what I heard about this Florida-" Before Hazel could finish, Xion had covered the girl's mouth with a panicked look.
"Never say that name here." Xion scanned the room with rapid turns.
Everyone looked at her weirdly, "What's got you spooked?" Leo asked.
"It's... Not really something that you should be concerned about. Trust us." Nick said, sharing her worry.
Xion stopped looking before uncovering Hazel's mouth. "Don't say the forbidden name or I will have to do something that no one wants to see." Xion said her first real threat which showed how serious it was. "Maybe we should go on now." Xion asked Nick before someone made the mistake to say the forbidden word.
"Yeah. So just for future reference. Treat that name like you would with Beetlejuice." Nick said before pressing play so no one could ask for more.
The scene changed to Percy and Sally in the kitchen. Sally was pouring tea in cups as Percy asked her. "Mum... How much do you love Paul?"
Sally didn't answer that question as she asked her own question. "Two sugars, is it?"
"I haven't had sugar in my tea since 1982."
"Oh yes!" Sally exclaimed before handing Percy a knife. "Would you cut me some bread?"
Percy held it, but didn't cut any as he repeated the question. "Mum, how much do you love Paul?"
"Oh Percy, do we have to go through all of that again?" Sally asked, a slightly annoyed tone in her voice.
"Look, Mum. What would you say if I told you, over the years Paul has been quite unkind to me."
"Well you weren't always the easiest person to deal with."
"Mum, he chased me around the garden with a bit of wood."
"Well you did call him a 'you know what'."
"Oh did he tell you that?"
"Yes."
"Motherfucker..." Percy scoffed.
Sally then spun towards him with a look and a harsh tone for such language. "Percy!"
Percy raised his hands, "Sorry, Mother- Mum. Look, did you know... On several occasions... He touched me?"
It became silent as everyone looked on in shock. None more so than Percy, Paul, Sally, and Poseidon.
Sally, Paul and Percy got up, walked to three doors that showed up thanks to Xion's aid and slammed it behind them. Poseidon watched with a worried look for his son and ex-lover.
"Ah, should we-" Before Jason could finish the room was flooded by so much loud raging profanity that everyone was grateful that Xion summoned the doors. Nico, Thalia, Grover, and Annabeth flinched at the profanity use. Knowing just how bad Percy's rage could get when someone really pisses him off.
It also didn't help that no one really saw Paul angry, hell not even during the Battle of Manhattan the man didn't drop any verbal bombs. As for Sally, everyone who knew her, they knew where Percy's rage came from, she just had better control over it.
After several minutes, the three made their way back to their seats. Annabeth immediately placed a hand on his shoulder, and asked in complete worry. "Are you ok, Percy?"
He took a deep breath and nodded, "Yeah... Yeah I'm ok. It's just... I can't believe something like that happened to me..."
"Hey guys?" Nick called out to which everyone turned to look at their host who pointed at the screen.
Sally stopped what she was doing, slammed her spoon down and gave Percy a harsh look.
After a moment, Percy spoke up, "... That wasn't true. Made it up. Sorry, I shouldn't have done that. Look Mum, you don't understand-"
Sally immediately interrupted him as she spoke with a calm angry tone. "No it's you who doesn't understand. Paul is my husband and has been for the last seventeen years. I know you two haven't seen eye to eye. But I would at least expect you to respect my feelings. You must be more adult about these things!"
Suddenly, Paul appeared near the kitchen. "Yeah..." His gravelly voice made both of them turn towards him. "Come on Percy. There comes a time when you just... You gotta be a man."
Percy looked at him, hesitating to decide what to do as he held the knife in his hand.
"Oh please don't turn now." Hazel whispers.
"Seriously, listen to him you Dolphin Noise man child. Man up and stop being a Fog Horn, Seal Honking!" Percy said, still pissed at himself for the previous comment.
"Ok Percy, please. Take deep breaths." Sally said, gently wrapping her arms around Percy. Annabeth then took Percy's face to make him look at her.
"Percy please. You're not responsible for your other self's actions or words. I know you're angry at him, but please... Just watch." Annabeth pleaded gently.
Percy took a deep breath as he nodded. "You're right... I'm sorry."
She shook her head, "It's not your fault. I'm just glad that it was a lie. I don't know how I would've handled something like that... If it turned out to be true."
Percy didn't say anything else as his eyes held a fear that he tried to hide. Annabeth saw it, but didn't want to say anything.
The scene changed to show the family heading out, Percy had an extremely grumpy expression on his face while Paul locked the door. "I'm telling you this fuss is over nothing." He said.
Sally saw Grover and smiled, "Hello Grover!"
Grover was standing outside, leaning on his shovel with a cigarette in hand. "Hi Sally!"
"My, how you've grown." Sally commented while Grover blew some smoke out.
"Yeah you wouldn't believe it." Grover said before noticing Paul. "What happened? Why's he coming?"
Percy said a little embarrassingly, "Well it wasn't all that simple."
Paul then got to the Jaguar and asked Percy, "So we're following you, are we?"
"Uh no, I think it's best if we go in the-" Percy said before noticing that Clarisse's car wasn't there. "Wait, where's the car?"
Grover looked sheepish as he moved to the left to show the car had hit a lamp post. "Ehh... I pranged it."
Percy was honestly shocked as he pointed out, "You were parked!"
"Yeah... I guess we'll have to take the Jag." Grover suggested.
"Grover... Are you ffffffff-freaking kidding me!?" Percy exclaimed as he put his hands on his head in complete shock.
"For the love of the gods, please tell me he crashed it on purpose?" Thalia asked to which she gained a nod from Xion. "Oh thank the gods."
"All so he could drive the Jaguar. I can't even tell if he's just being plain stupid or he actually thought of a way to do it." Frank said with a humorless chuckle.
"Well whatever the case, now they're one vehicle short that could've helped them get through a horde if needed." Annabeth sighed. Grover groaned in his hands as he felt like he was the one suffering the embarrassment and not his other self.
Percy pat Grover's shoulder in understanding. This seems like the worst version of themselves in any universe.
"Idiots... Both of them." Athena said with a shake of her head.
Percy closed his eyes and sighed in annoyance before turning to look at his stepdad. "Paul?"
"What?" Paul asked, ignoring the zombies that showed up in the driveway.
"LOOK OUT!" Percy shouted before running towards him. Paul turned around only to have his neck bitten by a hoodlum zombie.
Sally screamed in horror for a moment before pressing her hands against her mouth at the sight of her husband getting bitten again.
"Are you serious, he was already bitten!" Percy yelled out, already knowing he'll have to kill Paul now but didn't want to.
Percy jumped and slid on the hood of the Jag before pulling the hoodlum off, ripping a good chunk of flesh from Paul's neck. Much to the complete shock of Sally. Percy used his bat to push the hoodlum away before looking at Paul. "Paul, give me the car keys."
"You are not driving that car." Paul said with a stern voice.
Percy turned around and smacked a zombie away, "Paul! Gimme the car keys!"
Paul relented and gave him the cars. Percy then tossed them to Grover, "Grover, get Mum in the car."
"I'm on it." Grover said, catching the keys.
Percy hit a zombie in the throat before looking at Paul. "Come on."
"No no, don't worry about me. Worry about your mother." Paul said, holding his hand to his neck. Percy ignored him and grabbed his shoulder.
A quick scene change showed everyone in the car. Percy sat in the back with Paul while Grover was in the driver's seat with Sally. "Grover, maybe I should drive." Percy suggested.
"Man, I just adjusted the seat." Grover said, looking back to him.
Percy sighed, "Ok, well just be CAREFUL!" He shouted as Grover floored it with the Jaguar, leaving the house behind and heavy rock music playing on the radio.
"And this is is exactly why we don't let Grover drive anymore!" Thalia pointed at the screen.
"Ok! I get it! I'm a terrible driver! I'm more worried about Percy's step dad than my driving!" Grover exclaimed.
"Alright, both of you calm yourselves." Artemis ordered the two, to which they wisely stopped shouting. "Thank you. Now pay attention to the screen."
The car began to drive through the neighborhood, avoiding an occasional car driving erratically as Percy pressed some napkins against Paul's bloody neck. Paul shouted over the loud music. "Can you please turn that noise down!?"
Sally pulled out napkins as she asked, "Are you alright dear? Would you like another tissue!?"
"I'd be fine if it weren't for that bloody racket!" Paul replied back with a shout while Percy took his jacket off and pressed it up to the wound to catch some of the bleeding.
Sally then turned towards Grover and said, "It's a little too loud."
"Sorry, Sally." Grover said, pushing eject on the cassette tape.
Grover avoided another car before Paul asked, "You do realize this is a 20 mile an hour zone?"
Grover turned to Sally with a smirk and responded, "Oh yeah."
Soon, the Jag stopped to a screeching halt, smoke emanating from the burning rubber tires. They were parked outside of Annabeth's apartment building. "Here!" Grover said.
Percy then told his mom, "Ok Mum, this is only going to take a quick second." Before going to open the door, only to find he couldn't. He turned towards Paul and asked, "Paul, have you still got the child locks on?"
"Safety first, Percy." Paul gasped out, twitching a bit from the pain.
Percy sighed before grabbing the ceiling panel and pulled it back. He started to climb out while Grover said, "Hey man! Watch the leather." Before shaking his head at Sally.
Percy climbed out and knocked on the driver side window. "Listen ok, keep moving. If there's any trouble."
"Yeah yeah, I'll do the honk." Grover said, raising his hand with a roll of his eyes before driving away. Leaving Percy in an open area with zombies scattered around.
"Surprise Paul is lasting as long as he is." Leo said with wide eyes.
When Grover left Percy alone, Thalia gave a heavy sigh. "I know he shouldn't let the zombies trap them, but my nerves won't stop until he is not behind the wheel."
"Oh Thalia please lay off of Grover. He understands what he did, and it won't happen again. Right, Grover?" Sally said before looking at the Satyr with the question.
"I hope my other self won't do it again." Grover said a little nervous.
Percy turned around to face the building and twirled his cricket bat in his hand before running towards the apartment building. He hit several zombies in the head, knocking them to the ground as he made it to the door and pressed on the button to Annabeth's complex. He messes with his hair before noticing the blood on his hand and rubbing it on his pants.
That's when Piper's voice answered the call. "Hello?" Before Percy could say anything, he noticed a multitude of zombies shambling towards him.
Transitioning to Annabeth's living room, Piper, holding the phone, asked with a shook breath, "Hello?" Only to grunts and snarls before she put the phone back. Annabeth, Piper, and Jason's attention was brought to a window where they heard grunts. Suddenly a hand smacked against the glass, making Jason jump slightly. Connected to the hand was Percy as he held his bat and pressed his face against the window. "Guys, can you let me in please?" Percy asked.
"What're you doing!?" Annabeth asked in confusion.
"I've come to get you!" Percy replied. Annabeth then walked to the window and pulled it up open. Percy dragged himself in before closing the window.
"To your most hated place in the world." Jason chuckled before getting the back of his head smack by both Piper and Hera. "Be nice." Piper admonished him.
Percy took a deep breath and scratched the back of his head. "Oh this is gonna be awkward as hell…"
"You're saving your ex, plan to have her meet your mother and dying step father, then plan to take her to the pub she stated she hated multiple times. Awkward doesn't even come close." Nico listed out with a chuckle.
"It could always be worse." Thalia pointed out. "The pub could be filled with zombies."
"It's a pub, I'll be surprised if no one is in there." Athena said.
"Fingers crossed." Leo said, holding up his hand with his index and middle finger crossed.
"This is certainly getting more interesting." Aphrodite said, popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth.
Percy walked up to Annabeth and she asked, "Sorry, what exactly are you doing?"
"I've come to take you someplace safe." Percy replied.
That's when Jason joined in, "We were perfectly safe before you arrived!"
Percy shook his head, "You don't know that."
"Well there was two or three a minute ago, and how many are out there now?" Jason asked.
Piper went up on her tiptoes to look out the window. "Lots." She answered. "Lots!" Jason echoed back to Percy.
"Look, believe me, it only takes one of them to know you're in here." Percy said to Jason Before looking at Annabeth. "Listen, I tried calling you, I really did. I couldn't get through. I had to come up with a plan."
"Oh you had a plan?" Annabeth asked sarcastically. She didn't believe at all that he had changed and that he was actually doing something about what's happening.
"Look, I don't care what the telly says. We have to get out of here. If we don't, they're gonna come up here and they're gonna tear us to pieces, and that is really gonna exacerbate things." Percy said, desperation in his voice.
Annabeth sighed, unsure about it all. "Percy..."
Before Annabeth could talk, Percy grabbed her shoulders to really get her attention. "Look Annabeth, this is not about you and me. This is about survival. We need to be somewhere more secure, somewhere on the ground, somewhere we can stay alive." Percy said all this while looking her in the eyes.
Piper then spoke up, "We're with you, Percy."
This made Jason and Annabeth confused as they asked at the same time, "What!?"
"We're with you?" Piper repeated as a question.
Jason immediately refused. "I'm not going out there."
"Jase! I don't want to be torn to pieces and I'm sure, if you think about it, neither do you." Piper argued.
"I'm not going if Annabeth's not going." Jason replied.
"Well of course she's going." Piper said in exasperation.
"I'm not staying here by myself."
"You're going, aren't you Annabeth?" Piper asked the blonde girl as she had a thoughtful look on her face.
As that happens, everyone was laughing when Piper checked the number of zombies outside. Many were surprised when said same demigod wished to follow Percy. Piper facepalmed as she could feel her mother's eyes sparkle a little. Looking for some mercy she turns to Xion who figured out the Cherokees' question as she made an X shape with her arms.
"Honestly, I'm in favor of staying in the building." Jason said with a raised brow and crossed arms.
"I gotta agree. An apartment building is high up from the ground." Nico said.
"But sooner or later, you're gonna run out of food and water." Annabeth commented. "While getting out of the city is the smarter option, I don't think holding up in a bar is gonna do anyone any good."
"Annie?" Jason asked, trying to get an answer out of her. Percy had a pleading look in his eyes as she looked at him.
That's when she asked, "Alright, Flash. What'd you have in mind?" That was confirmation to Percy that she's going with him.
Percy sighed in relief before replying, "Ok, I've got a car outside, but it's a bit cramped now, so does anyone got transport?"
Piper got excited and raised her hand, "Oh yes yes!"
Percy was also excited as he asked, "Great where?"
Piper then realized something. "Oh no, well I passed the test."
Percy looked at her, a little disappointed so he turned to Jason. "Jason?"
Jason shook his head, "I don't see the point in owning a car in London."
Percy stammered at that bit of logic before taking a deep breath. "Ok look, just get any blunt objects. If you get cornered," Percy grabbed his bat and smacked himself in the head with it. "Bash them in the head, that seems to work. Ow. Keep together, stay sharp, and follow me." Percy started walking towards the door.
The three roommates turned towards him with Annabeth asking, "So uh, what's the plan then?"
Percy turned to them, twirled the bat into his hand and replied, "We're going to the Winchester." Annabeth immediately had a look of regret on her face.
"I can just feel the regret coming from the screen." Leo said with a chuckle as he popped a piece of popcorn in his mouth.
"Why am I feeling some kind of tragedy has just begun?" Hazel asked with a tilt of her head.
"Hazel, please don't jinx it. I am begging you." Percy said, putting his hands together while looking at her.
"Sorry." Hazel cringed as she understood what she did.
"Before we continue this." Annabeth said before giving Jason a glare. "Don't ever call me Annie. I don't even let Thalia call me that."
"Not even Percy?" Piper asked.
"Annie doesn't roll off my tongue as good as Annabeth does." Percy said, not realizing it made Annabeth blush.
Sally had to cover her mouth to hide the smile on her face at seeing her son making his girlfriend blush with his words.
Paul and Poseidon also had amused smiles on their faces. The only ones not smiling were Athena and Zeus. Though Hera was also frowning, it was for a different reason. It could've been… jealousy. Jealous that Percy could show such loyalty and love to Annabeth when Hera has to deal with her husband constantly having affairs and her simply not matter to him.
Xion snapped her fingers causing a peacock chick to land on Hera's lap, Xion made no comment about it but Hera had a soft smile at the chick as she gently petted it.
Nick looked at Xion with a soft and appreciative smile while Cortana looked at Hera and figured about having a talk with her later.
The scene changed to show zombies at the door, pressing against it. Annabeth, Piper, and Jason looked at the door with uncertainty and shock. Percy was at the door, and was confident. "Ok! Let's go!"
What followed was Percy shoving the door opening and knocking the zombies in front of him away with his cricket back. The trio behind tried to smack the flesh eaters away while Percy pushed a bunch down and smacked them down. They made it more out in the open and to the street. "Where's the car?" Annabeth asked.
A loud honk caught their attention as Grover parked the car next to them. He opened the door, stood out to look at them with a cocky smile and said, "Wassup, niggas?"
Everyone collectively spat out their drinks at Grover saying a racial slur. "Jesus Christ, Grover!" Percy exclaimed while trying to wipe away the Diet Coke from his shirt.
"WHY DID I SAY THAT!?" Grover exclaimed while gripping his hair.
Hazel was physically fighting herself from attacking the screen at the very moment. She put her cup down before standing up and walking to the bathroom.
Everyone looked at her with worry and nobody said a word. "I think it's time we try that sound buffering system." Nick said to Cortana.
"I concur. One moment." Cortana said before a holographic keyboard appeared in front of her and typed into it.
As no one could hear the other side of the bathroom door, Xion's eyes widened. "Oh, that's why I should have brought my earbuds."
"Wait, you can hear what she's saying?" Hades asked.
Xion nodded slowly and turned her head. "Thank Chaos that you didn't bring LTMG here."
"The what?" The kids asked in unison.
"Uh, that might be something for a later time." Nick said in nervousness.
Once the bathroom door opened and Hazel walked back in, Xion physically jumped. Hazel sat on Frank's lap before saying. "Play the damn thing."
Grover put his hands together, "Hazel, please believe me, I would never-" Only to flinch when Hazel turned her glare to him.
"You're pushing your luck, Grover… One more word. Please, give me one more." Hazel warned him. When Grover said nothing, she turned back to the screen.
Annabeth and her roommates looked at Grover before looking at Percy who had his head down in shame before they quickly realized that they were surrounded by zombies so they ran to the car.
A quick transition later and Jason was sitting in the back seat with Piper on his lap. Annabeth sat with Sally in the passenger seat. "Ok, apologies for the cramped conditions. Piper, can you stay on Jason's lap? Paul, hang in there, ok?" He then reached towards the front. "Grover, get there fast, yeah?"
"Yep." Grover acknowledged.
Percy then turned to his mom and ex-girlfriend. "Oh and Mum, this is Annabeth. Annabeth, my mum."
The two turned towards each other and said in unison. "Hello!"
"Better late than never to meet one's mom. Even if it's in the middle of a zombie invasion." Nico said with a chuckle.
Both Sally and Annabeth laughed at their counterparts' first meeting.
Grover immediately stepped on the gas and drove out of the neighborhood. His driving became reckless as he kept running over zombies. Everyone exclaimed in disgust.
"Grover!" Percy called out before being interrupted by Paul. "Percy..." Percy didn't think much of it. "I know, Grover be careful!"
"Is your Dad alright?" Piper asked.
"He's not my dad!" Percy immediately denied.
"He's bleeding!" Piper exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know. Grover, just be careful!"
"You said you wanted to get there fast!" Grover pointed out before running over another zombie.
"Yeah, but I wanna get us there in one piece!" Percy rebutted.
"Honestly can't fault Kelp Head on that." Thalia said, clenching her own seat as she watched.
Grover, still embarrassed by him saying a slur, was eating up an aluminum can to cope with how idiotic his counterpart.
"Oh gods, Paul is working worse..." Annabeth said above a whisper.
"Why are we going this way?" Percy questioned.
"Chill out, it's short cut!" Grover said with a smirk.
"But that road goes straight to the Winchester!" Percy pointed to a road that they passed.
"Percy..." Paul said a little louder.
"Yeah, I know! Annabeth, could you please?" Percy asked to which she clicked the radio off, much to Grover's anger.
"I still don't understand why we are going to the Winchester." Jason said.
"Because it's a pub. It's safe, it's secure." Percy replied.
"I know it's there." Grover added.
"What makes it so secure?" Annabeth asked.
"Because it's got big heavy doors and deadbolts. You've been to a lockout." Percy pointed out.
"Several." Annabeth admitted.
"And there's a rifle above the bar." Grover also pointed out.
"We would think that's deactivated." Jason said, not believing it'd be of any use. "Surely." Piper agreed with her boyfriend.
"It's not, I'm telling you. John's connected, Big Al says so."
"Yeah well Big Al also says dogs can't look up." Percy also pointed out.
"They can't!" Grover agreed.
"Oh can't they?" Piper asked out of intrigue.
"No they can't!"
"Of course they can!" Percy exclaimed.
Piper then asked, "Are you sure?"
"Yes! Look, the pub is the safest place. Everything's going to be alright, I promise!" Percy said with determination. He didn't see it, but Annabeth, Piper and Jason frowned at him using the word 'promise'.
"I'm pretty sure dogs can look up. Even if most of that is due to them sitting, they're still looking up." Annabeth commented.
"No, they can look up even while standing." Artemis said, with her arms crossed.
"Why is this even an argument? It's gotta be one of the dumbest ones I've heard in a while." Percy said with a scratch of his head.
"Beats me. The last person who told me, I had my pack chase them away." Artemis said with a shrug as Thalia shook her head while chuckling, clearly having witnessed the act.
Paul grabbed Percy's sleeve and said once more, "Percy..."
"I turned it off, alright!?" Percy snapped at his stepdad.
Paul ignored it as he spoke. "It's not easy..."
"What?"
"Being a father, it's not easy... You were just twelve when I met you, and you were already so grown up. I just didn't want you to give up because you lost your Dad."
Percy had tears in his eyes as he said, "Paul, you don't have to explain-"
"No, no I-I do. I-I always loved you, Percy. I always thought you had it in you to do well... You just needed motivation, and... Someone to look up to and... I thought it could be me." Paul looked at him with tears of his own. He patted his shoulder before whispering. "Just... Take care of your mother. There's a good boy..."
Paul's eyes closed before his body gently let go, showing that he had finally died.
Percy clenched his seat, fighting back tears from his eyes at witnessing a version of Paul die. Sally wasn't handling it better as she had her mouth covered and tears running down her cheeks. Thankfully, Paul was here to comfort her unlike her counterpart, gods only know how she'll handle it.
"Oh Paul!" Sally cried as she wrapped her arms around him and gently cried into the crook of his neck.
Percy went over to Paul before hugging him tightly. "I'm sorry Paul..."
"No no, none of this is on you. You're a good kid, and I know you have love for... Well mostly everyone here. This viewing isn't gonna change that." Paul said, patting his back gently.
Nico felt a small headache reaching his right temple as his father's right eye twitched as they watched the screen.
"Brother, what is wrong?" Poseidon asked the eldest brother.
"I don't know." Hades said as he rubbed his eye.
Poseidon looked at him before letting it go and paying attention to the screen.
Percy gasped slightly before looking towards Grover. "Grover, can you pull over?"
Grover replied with, "Two seconds." Before running over another zombie which made everyone groan.
"Grover, please just pull over." Percy pleaded.
"What for?"
"GROVER, JUST PULL OVER!!" Percy shouted to which Grover sighed before braking as he turned the wheel, causing the car to spin into a complete stop while everyone screamed for their lives.
Once it stopped, Grover exclaimed, "Woah momma!"
"Christ, what the hell are you doing!?" Percy exclaimed.
Grover shrugged his shoulders and said nonchalantly. "Chill out, everything's alright!"
Percy punched Grover's seat out of anger. "Stop telling me to chill out?" This made Grover frown and look away as Percy continued. "And no! For your information, everything is not alright!"
"What's wrong?" Annabeth asked.
Percy was on the verge of crying as he looked at his mom. "Mum, it's Paul. He's gone."
"Where's he gone?" Sally asked.
"Mum, he's dead." Percy clarified.
Sally then looked behind her seat towards Paul before looking to Percy. "No he isn't."
Percy then turned towards Paul and realized... He had come back. His eyes were open with those hollow and blank white eyes as he groaned.
Percy's eyes widened as he shouted, "GET OUT! GET OUT!" Everyone immediately scrambled to get out while zombie Paul tried to grab at Percy who used his cricket bat to hold him back. "Jesus!"
"Okay, I think you won't feel guilty smashing the skull." Jason said before getting a punch at his shoulder from Piper.
Jason rubbed his shoulder. "I'm just talking practical-" Before he could finish his other shoulder was punched by Thalia who just give him the 'Shut the Fuck Up' glare. Jason wisely stopped talking while rubbing his shoulder. Even Annabeth was glaring at him, warning him to not say another word.
Grover and Annabeth immediately climbed out of the car while Jason and Piper banged on the window because of the child-locked doors. Grover simply stood there as Percy shouted, "The child locks!" Sally climbed out, her foot accidentally touching the radio, making it turn back on, playing hard rock which seemed to anger zombie Paul.
Annabeth ran to the other side of the car, yelling at Grover. "Grover!" Before pulling the door open, allowing Jason and Piper to climb out while Percy pushed Paul back with the bat in an effort to climb out. Percy swiped the bat away before climbing out and quickly closing the door, leaving Paul trapped inside the car.
The group took a brief look at their surroundings to find that several zombies were beginning to shamble towards them. The ever present moan was the only thing coming out of them.
"Now what?" Jason asked.
"We've got to keep moving." Percy said, starting to walk.
"But how're we going to get Paul out of the car?" Piper asked.
"We haven't got time."
"What about the blunt objects?" Annabeth inquired.
"Do you wanna get them?" Grover asked.
Sally was a little shocked at Paul being left in there. "Percy, we can't just leave your dad!"
Percy looked at her, "He's not my dad!"
Sally was getting a little tired of that saying, "Oh Percy-"
"Mum, he-he was! But now he's not anymore!" Paul had now climbed to the front seats and reached his hand out.
"I really think we should-" Sally walked to try and open the car door but Percy grabbed her shoulders to make her look at him.
"No, listen to me, Mum! Listen ok, that is not your husband in there! Ok? I know it looks like him but there's nothing of the man you loved in that car now. Nothing!" Percy said, making Sally look at him with sadness as she started to realize it.
Before anything more could be said, Paul somehow managed to turn the radio off and lean his head against the seat, almost looking peaceful. "Let's go, shall we?" Percy asked before continuing to move on.
Jason asked incredulously, "You're not seriously suggesting we walk!?"
As everyone looked confused at Zombie Paul, Nico and Hades had to take a double take themselves being the most confused out of the whole group.
"How did I know to turn the radio off? I'm fairly certain zombies lose their higher brain function so they wouldn't be able to do stuff like turning off a radio." Paul said, looking confused as the rest of the audience.
Athena put a finger to her lip and hummed, a theory forming in her head.
"Maybe they're attracted to sound?" Annabeth guessed. "So he could have just hit the off button by chance."
"That would make sense, but did you see how he reacted after turning it off? He looked... Relieved. Like saying 'Thank God it's off.' So... I don't know. I don't have a clue what that was about." Percy said, scratching behind his ear.
"Maybe zombies stop being active when they can't reach a human. We did saw the zombies at Percy's home just stare at them after Percy and Grover some how got back inside." Athena pointed out.
The demigods looked at each other, seeing her point. "Makes sense, guess they're really not as relentless as some of the zombie movies we've seen." Percy shrugged his shoulders.
"But still, it was weird to see Mr. Blofis turn off that radio." Grover said.
"I mean, Annabeth could be right that he could have hit the power button by chance." Thalia said, which Athena seemed to agree with her daughter, though Hades and Nico weren't buying it fully but couldn't really figure anything else at the current moment.
Paul, Percy and Sally weren't buying it either, but didn't say anything. At least not until there was more evidence of it.
The screen quickly transitioned to Percy leading the group through a crack between houses, fences to backyards could be seen along with sheds, showing they were cutting through a back-alley. "Everyone doing ok back there?" Percy asked, looking behind him. Annabeth was behind him with Jason and Piper behind her. Sally was looking a little dazed as she followed them with Grover behind, texting on his flip phone.
"Yeah, we're having a whale of a time." Grover said sarcastically.
"Maybe we should hold hands? Make a crocodile?" Piper suggested in a whispered voice.
Jason looked over Annabeth's shoulder and asked Percy in a rather rude manner. "Do you even know where we're actually going?"
Annabeth looked at him, "Jason, come on." It was code for him to back off and calm down.
"Sorry, Annie." He said, backing off. That's when Annabeth looked to Percy and asked. "Do you though?"
Percy nodded, "Totally. Totally."
"Are we close?"
Percy and Annabeth looked to a backyard to their right to see a horde of female zombie eating the stomach of a... Familiar looking person. The sight of his red snake skin boots made it clear who was being eaten.
"We're pretty close..." Percy said, turning his head away, as did Annabeth who looked horrified at the sight.
Some of the demigods couldn't help but gag at the sight and Leo even almost threw up. "Oh gods..."
Thalia was a little shocked at the sight of the guy who looked like her father getting eaten. By women no less.
Hera had a... Conflicted look on her face. On one hand, she relished in seeing her husband die in a gruesome manner. However, in the other, she was... Saddened to see her husband killed. It made her question herself.
Both Posiden and Demeter had to hold back a chuckle as Artemis shook her head.
"What's so funny, brother? Sister?" Zeus had to suppress a growl at them laughing at his death.
"Nothing we can say with Sally in the room." Demeter said, not even afraid of Zeus' wrath.
"You fear what a mortal will react to how you speak?" Zeus asked in a weirded tone.
"Zeus, this woman put the fear of the gods into Jackson." Demeter said. "The same demigod who gives you lip almost every time you're in the same room together."
Zeus growled then decided to not say another word as he looked to the screen, refusing to see Demeter's point.
The group continued down as Annabeth decided to change the subject. "Is your mum going to be ok?"
"Yeah, I hope so." Percy replied before asking. "Manage to get in touch with your folks?"
"They're in Antigua." Annabeth replied.
"Do you think this is happening there?" Percy asked.
"I hope not."
It was quiet for a minute before Percy decided to bring up a touchy subject. "Listen, Annabeth, about last night. I know loads of things were said, but-"
Annabeth immediately interrupted him. "Percy, you said this wasn't about you and me."
"No, it's not, but I-"
"You said it was about survival."
"Yeah, it is, but what I'm saying is-"
Annabeth had a suspicious tone in her voice, "You're not doing all this just to prove something, are you?"
"No, of course not. I just-"
"Because I meant everything I said last night. Nothing's changed." Annabeth said with finality. A sudden breaking of a window and a scream broke the two away and looked towards the source. Annabeth looked towards Percy before saying, "Maybe this isn't the best time to talk about it."
Percy nodded. "Ok." He turned a corner only for him and another person to jump in shock.
Annabeth put her face in her hands, before groaning. Percy cleared his throat and scratched his head in embarrassment.
"Are they seriously doing this now?" Artemis asked, crossing her arms.
Annabeth's mother sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
Luckily the broken window gave the four the much needed release from the cringe they just watched.
That was until Percy collided with the other person, making most of the mortals jump. "¡Jesucristo, eso me asustó muchísimo!" Leo exclaimed, accidentally spilling his popcorn.
"Find me in the Alps!" Percy shouted, holding his heart.
Piper looked at Percy before asking in confusion. "What?"
"Nothing, nothing." Percy took a deep breath while holding Annabeth's hand.
"Ffffreaking jump scares. They're so godsdamned cheap." Thalia groaned as she rubbed her chest.
"I swear, those things are just as annoying as the memory of Actaeon." Artemis said with annoyed tone and crossed arms.
"Aww, did someone get jump scared?" Apollo teased his sister and got elbowed in the gut for it.
The person in question turned out to be Thalia, wielding a bloodied golf club. Everyone took a few seconds to breathe from the scare before Thalia spoke. "Percy."
Percy took a deep breath, "Thalia."
"How're you doing?" Thalia asked Percy.
"Uh, um surviving." He replied, mirroring his response from yesterday.
Thalia then noticed Annabeth and smiled while giving a little wave. "Hi Annabeth. Long time no see!"
"Hey Thalia." Annabeth smiled back.
Thalia then looked to her group and introduced them. "This is my boyfriend, Luke. My friends: Silena, Charles, my mum, Beryl, and uh, my cousin Nico." She then introduced Percy and Annabeth. "This is Percy, and his girlfriend Annabeth."
Jason felt the need to correct her, "They're split up actually." Much to Percy's annoyance as he looked at him.
Thalia had a small sad tone to her voice, but it was clear they couldn't stay for long so they had to cut the conversation short. "Oh well, that's a shame. Well we best skoot. Have you got anywhere you're going?"
"Uh yeah, we're going to the Winchester." Percy replied.
Thalia had to think for a moment and asked out of clarification. "The pub?"
Percy scratched the back of his neck, "Yeah..."
"Right well, good luck!" Thalia said in a chipper voice as the two hugged it out before going the opposite direction of each other.
As that happened, Annabeth and Luke said hi to each other, before Jason and Charles said hi, and then Piper and Silena said hi, then Sally and Beryl said hi. Nico and Grover just made a noise as both of them were on their phones.
Everyone in the room was in total silence at the similarities between Percy and Thalia's group. "Where am I going?" Thalia asked which broke the silence.
"Spoiler, but we can definitely say, it's a lot safer than a pub." Cortana replied.
"So why don't they just go together?" Leo asked.
"A large group like that is dangerous. Especially if half of them don't have weapons to defend themselves. Smaller groups can weave through them, like you saw when they were escaping my daughter's apartment. It is better that they go their separate ways and pray that they will see each other once more." Athena explained.
"That would take a miracle." Ares chuckled, not believing that Percy's group will completely survive by the end of the movie.
"A miracle is all we got." Percy muttered, surprisingly even he agreed with Ares on his group's survival odds.
"We'll make it through this, Percy." Annabeth said, holding his hand.
Percy wanted to believe Annabeth's words, but there was a bad feeling he knew in his gut. Percy sighed before focusing on the screen.
Percy kicked a fence door into a person's backyard. "There see? What'd I say? Winchester's just over there."
"Over where?" Jason asked.
"Over there." Percy pointed out.
"Just over there, over the twenty garden fences?" Jason asked, cutting to show the multitude of fences.
"What's the matter, Jason?" Percy walked over to a fence and looked back with a smug look. "Never taken a shortcut before?" He then ran towards it before attempting to jump over the fence, only for it to be knocked down with Percy on top.
Everyone either looked at him with amusement or unimpressed. Percy jumped back up immediately and beckoned them forward as if he didn't attempt to do something cool and failed miserably.
That got a couple chuckles, even Percy joined in, glad to have something funny happen to him that wasn't cringe inducing.
"I think you failed the Athletics check." Leo joked. Percy playfully threw an unpopped kernel at Leo which popped in his face due to his fire.
"Boys." Sally said with a giggle.
"Come on, that's funny." Percy said in a cheeky tone.
"It was." Leo agreed.
The scene changed to the group sneaking through another backyard. Sally looked around and her eyes lit up with recognition. "Percy? I'm sure Jill and Derek live here."
Behind her, a zombified version of Derek looked at her with a sliding glass door blocking him. She looked at him with shock and fear.
Before it cut to Percy and his friends jumping through a fence and into a playground. Percy stood next to a mini slide and looked back to them. "Now, the Winchester is just over that fence, so everybody just stay here and I will- Hang on, are we all here?"
Piper looked at everyone before counting, "Uh 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, yes!"
Percy reminded her, "There's 6 of us."
"Oh."
A sudden scream made Percy worried so he shouted while running, "MUM!" He jumped on a little trampoline before launching over the fence. "I'm coming!" Before rolling onto the ground.
Sally was on the grass before Percy immediately hauled her up. "Mum! Mum! Are you ok!?" He asked.
"I don't think Jill and Derek do live here." Sally commented before they both looked to see the glass door was opened.
Piper facepalmed at how much she was acting like a stereotypical blonde in most horror movies. Though everyone jumped at hearing Sally's scream before those close to the Jackson began to scan the screen in concern.
"Oh gods no! Please don't be bitten! Please don't be bitten!" Percy immediately said out of fear and desperation. The Host and Co-host kept quiet, already knowing the truth and didn't have the heart to say it.
Back with the rest of the group, it was silent as they waited for Percy to come back. They were worried, especially Annabeth as she called out for him. "Percy? You alright?"
It was silent some more so Annabeth called his name one more. "PercYYYYY!" That's when the fence was broken by Percy and Derek, who was on top of him, trying to bite him.
Annabeth looked around before grabbing a little plastic chair and shouted, "OI!" And bashed Derek which knocked him off of Percy. He got back up while Annabeth grabbed another chair.
Percy looked back towards Grover and Jason who were just standing there, not helping. "What're you doing!?" Derek got back up and snarled at Percy.
"PERCY!" Piper shouted to get his attention before pulling a large metal pole with a tennis ball attached to it by string out of the ground. She tossed it to Percy who caught it and smirked. "Yes!"
"Finally! A good weapon to use against a zombie. Bash him in the head!" Percy shouted to his other self.
Percy started to swing the pole which made the ball swing until it hit Derek in the head which did nothing.
"I now see why balls aren't used as weapons against Zombies." Leo joked as everyone watched in disappointment at Percy's choice of attack.
"So, is your other self finally going to be a team player?" Percy asked Jason with an annoyed look.
"I'm sure he will." Jason said in a confident tone.
"Uh-huh... My other self's excuse is just that he's a bad friend and lazy. What's your's?" Grover asked in a surprisingly angry tone which made Thalia, Percy, and Annabeth look at him in surprise.
"Woah, goat boy." Thalia said, almost impressed by him.
Grover then began to give off an apologetic look, clearly still having a soft side to his three closest friends.
Jason was insulted by it and was gonna say something until Piper put a hand on his arm. "He's right and you know it Jason. Your other self has not been helpful through this whole thing, and all you've done is put Percy down. So think about yourself before you decide to put others down." She said with a frown. Jason decided to shut up for the moment and just watch the movie.
Percy immediately realized that was the wrong move. "No, that's rubbish."
Piper and Annabeth made a jerking forward motion, telling him to impale the zombie. Percy switched the other side to the sharper side and charged forward, impaling Derek to a tree branch, blood squirting onto Percy's white shirt.
Annabeth cringed at the nasty impalement while Piper did a fist pump. "Yes!"
Percy looked back to Grover and Jason and spread his arms. "Feel free to step in anytime!"
Grover just shrugged his shoulders. "You did alright."
Jason's excuse was... "Didn't want to cramp your style."
Percy was absolutely flabbergasted as he asked, "Wha-"
Sally came out from the other side of the fence, grabbing some tissues as she said, "I'm so sorry about that."
Percy looked back towards his mother and sighed before walking back towards the slide. Everyone walked back over as Percy spoke, "Okay, everyone just stay where they are. I'm gonna check if the coast is clear." He climbed up the steps and looked for a couple moments before climbing back down. A frown was very evident on his face.
Annabeth asked, "Is it clear?"
"No." Percy said with a shake of his head.
"How many?"
"Lots."
The camera then panned up over him and past the fence to show a huge hoard of zombies shambling around the pub.
"Well γαμησε με." Percy said, his hands on his head.
(Fuck me)
Annabeth and Grover give Percy a comforting hand on his shoulder. "What now? They've gotta go somewhere else." Leo said.
"Not to mention there could potentially be more of them inside. They should just cut their losses and go someplace else." Athena said with a fist to her cheek.
Percy groaned as he already had a feeling that his other self is going to do the opposite.
"Annabeth, what would you do in this situation?" Percy asked, looking towards his girlfriend.
Annabeth took a deep breath before saying, "First, get out of that area and look for a better place. Or a potential quarantine zone. We saw a lot of military vehicles, so there's a chance that they may have set up a defensive position for survivors."
"Hopefully my other self will listen to reason." Percy said as everyone turned to the screen.
Everyone looked through the lines between the fences. "Well that is just great." Jason said.
"There are a few of them, yes." Piper said, a little shaken by the sight.
"I take it Percy has another brilliant scheme up his sleeve?" Jason asked sarcastically.
Annabeth got annoyed, "This is hardly constructive, Jason!"
"No, Annie. This is a waste of time! We should've just stayed at the flat." Jason said, getting agitated. Annabeth tried to make him shush up to avoid any zombies from hearing them.
"Yeah, why didn't you?" Grover asked, looking at Jason.
"Because- because, because of... Captain Wow!" Jason pointed to Percy who was scratching his goatee, trying to come up with something.
"Will you stop it!?" Annabeth whisper-yelled at Jason.
Piper agreed as she said, "Yes, we're not going to get anywhere by moaning."
Everybody stopped when they heard zombie Derek moan and move his arms around. Percy had a lightbulb moment as he looked towards Piper who looked back as well.
"No... They're not thinking of..." Hera trailed off.
"Would that even work?" Hermes asked.
Percy and Piper gave each their 'Agent of Chaos' look before shaking hands. "If this works, I'll pay for you and Jason's next date. But we have to enter the Pub without the zombies noticing. But if you fail, you'll have to pay for Annabeth and mine." Percy said in an over the top gentlemanly voice.
"Only if no one breaks character." Piper said with an equal over the top gentlewoman voice. Both of their significant others were already getting nervous with the deal being made.
"Are you two being serious?" Annabeth asked.
"Absolutely." Percy said with a smirk.
"Agree that they have reasonable price dates, in case Jackson loses?" Jason whispered to Annabeth, being somewhat helpful with this moment though clearly showing he didn't approve of this bet.
Annabeth sighed and threw her hands up. "Alright, fine." Percy and Piper high fived each other with a smile.
Piper stood in front of Derek and shook her hands. "Ok! Let's all shake out! Get nice and limber... Or not." She said, realizing no one was following her example. "Now take another look at the way he moves. Remember, very limp, almost like sleepwalking." She took a look at Derek's vacant and yet saddened face. "Look at the face. It's vacant with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet." She then turned towards Annabeth and pointed to her. "Okay, let's try, shall we? Annabeth."
Annabeth put her arms straight forward and made a common zombie moan while keeping her face blank.
Piper liked it, "Nice. Good vocal work." She then turned towards Sally who looked distant with a blank face. "Sally, that's excellent!" Piper was pleasantly surprised by it.
Sally blinked and looked towards Piper. "Sorry, dear, I was miles away."
Piper then turned towards Jason. "Uh, Jas?"
Jason wasn't in the mood for this type of thing so he just made a short noise. "Uh."
Piper wasn't impressed, "Come on!"
"Uh!"
Piper sighed before thinking up a different way. "Okay, it's mournful, sorrowful, you're dead and you hate it. Go."
Jason put a bit more effort into it and made a small groan. "Much better." Piper said before turning towards Grover. "Grover."
Grover blew some smoke out and replied, "I'll do it on the night."
Percy spoke up, "This is the night!"
Grover sighed and made a comical noise while bouncing his body from side to side. Percy couldn't help but laugh. "What is that?"
"What about yours?" Grover asked.
"Hey?"
"Who died and made you fucking King of the zombies?"
Percy put his hands up before showing off his zombie impression. Grover had to admit it was good, "Yeah, that's pretty good." Percy had a triumphant smirk on his face.
Piper clapped her hands to bring everyone's attention back to her. "Okay! Let's all try together, shall we? One, two, three!"
Piper smiled with pride, glad to see her dad's lesson has actually stuck with her. During the impressions the reactions truly happened as everyone but Athena and Annabeth laughed about her impression. Though those laughs quickly died with Sally's response.
"Has to because of what she already has, yeah that must be it." Percy silently whispered, hoping that his mother wasn't bit.
Nobody wanted to say anything, because they knew what Percy was like when he started to freak out about someone. All Annabeth could do was hold his hand. At Jason, everyone's groan was better than his. With his second groan, Artemis had to ask Jason out of bewilderment. "How are you related to one of my best Lieutenants?"
"Ask our mother. Apparently she was so attractive that Dad had to come back for seconds." Thalia said with a snarl.
Zeus gave his daughter a glare before Hera pulled him by his ear back to the screen.
During Grover's turn, the chuckles returned, with both Thalia, Percy and Annabeth patting the satyr's back. And then Percy's groan caused the largest amount of laughs as Percy said. "Oh look, it's my other self from the beginning."
"I'm starting to realize everyone was already acting like zombies before they actually became them. They were all just doing the same dead end job, no joy in life, and relationships potentially dying." Nico said.
"The real question still remains, how did it happen? Was it a virus?" Annabeth questioned, rubbing her chin.
"How could a virus make zombies?" Hazel asked with a tilt of her head.
"That's like the number one explanation in all of these zombie movies, Hazel." Leo said.
Hazel gave Leo a confused look. "What do you mean, I've only known of zombies made with magic. Like Nico or Voodoo."
"Yeah well that was the dinosaur era, chica." Leo said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Are you calling me old, Leo?" She asked with a sweet smile but her eyes threatened pain.
"Uhh... No?" Leo answered with a nervous chuckle.
Hazel slowly turned back to the screen, before Leo could let go of his breath he felt a hand land on his shoulder. Slowly turning around, he saw Nico give him a deathly look. "Don't call our birth eras the Dinosaur Era again."
"Uh, yeah! Sure sure! No problemo, buddy." Leo said with his hands raised. Nico let go of Leo, before focusing on the screen now freeing Leo to sigh in relief for dodging two bullets.
"You're gonna get your butt kicked one of these days cuz of your mouth." Frank said with a shake of his head before paying attention to the screen.
Everyone took a collective breath before a quick cut showed everyone huddled together in a horizontal line, acting like zombies and making groans like them. They were completely surrounded by zombies, some from the day before, now bloodied and dead eyed.
One thing of note was as they passed through zombies, some of them began to notice and started following the group behind. Jason started to break character by looking around and looking worried as he tried to make everyone walk faster. "Go go go. Get out of here, get out of here." He mumbled.
Before they knew it, they made it to the doors, and Percy was trying to open them. "Get around me. Get around me. Shit. It's locked." Percy started looking through the mail slot. "John! John, Bernie, are you there? It's Percy and Grover, we come in all the time."
One of the zombies, the ex pornstar noticed them. Jason said to Percy, "They can hear you."
"Remember when we did the quiz?"
"They know." Jason said out of worry.
"Stay in character, Jas." Piper quietly reprimanded him.
"I can't see them." Percy said, with Annabeth kneeling down next to him.
"Percy, we have to get inside." Annabeth said.
"Break the window." Jason suggested.
"Don't be stupid, we'll be totally exposed." Percy shot down that idea.
"We are totally exposed, break the window."
Annabeth then asked, "Is there another way in?"
Percy pointed outwards, "Uh, yeah there's a-" Before he could finish, Grover's phone decided to ring.
Grover put up two fingers, "Two seconds." and sat down on a bench. Much to Percy and Annabeth's shock and anger.
Piper facepalmed herself once the zombies began to follow them, she then growled when Jason broke character. "Jason! You cost us the bet! Godsdamn it!" She shouted before speaking in French with words that caused her mother to gasp at the words being thrown out of Piper's mouth causing Jason to be nervous while Percy had a smug grin on his face.
Annabeth looked at Percy and just shook her head at his smug grin. "I'll make sure to choose a five star restaurant." He said to which Jason groaned at the potential debt he'd have to pay off for the rest of his life.
Once they made it to the door, that caused Percy to laugh and cheered because if Jason had just stayed in character then Percy would have lost the bet. This alone caused Piper to shake her boyfriend by the shoulders in rage. "Your other self couldn't hold it in for one minute, one Putain de minute!" Piper exclaimed.
Everyone had a brief laugh until the phone went off and everyone's faces suddenly dropped once the phone went off. "Fuck..." Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, and Grover said in unison.
As Grover answered the phone, Grover looked at his friends. "You know what, screw it! If you need to leave my other self to save your skins, I won't blame you."
"They'll handle it later, but right now, they've GOT to get inside!" Percy said, gripping his arm rests.
"Someone's dying today." Ares said with a chuckle and a shake of his head before taking a sip of his whiskey.
"I'd say our brother will die first." Hermes said to his Olympian siblings privately.
"Are you seriously thinking about who will die at this moment?" Artemis turned her glare towards Hermes and Ares.
"Hey, we're just saying, someone's gonna become lunch because of this." Ares said, not caring about what he's saying.
"He's not wrong." Hermes said with a shrug.
"You all are unbelievable." Artemis said with a shake of her head and crossed her arms.
"And I thought I got on her bad side." Apollo said with a small laugh.
Grover answered the phone and put it to his ear. "Hey Noodle."
The voice at the other end was very familiar to Percy. It was Nancy Bobofit. "You alright, mate?"
"Yeah, man. I can't really talk right now."
"Did you get anything yet?" Nancy asked as Percy stood up and walked over to Grover.
"I got nothing." Grover replied.
"Aw, really?"
"No, I'm in the middle of something."
"In the middle of something?"
"It's weird, isn't it?" Grover asked with a chuckle, that's when Percy smacked the phone out of Grover's hand. The two of them didn't hear the groans from the horde stop. Grover stood up and asked Percy, "Oi! What you doing?"
Percy was pissed off as he asked rhetorically. "What am I doing? What are you doing, you stupid moron?"
Grover was insulted. "Fuck off."
Percy retorted with a loud whisper. "You fuck off!" He smacked Grover in the arm. "Fuck fucking off!"
Percy ignored Annabeth's pat on his back. "Percy..."
Percy continued. "I spent my entire life- look at me! I've spent my entire life sticking my neck out and all you ever do is fuck things up! Fuck things up and making ME look stupid! Well, I'm not gonna let you do it anymore, NOT TODAY!"
It was silent as Percy took a deep breath. Annabeth tapped his arm and said his name a little louder. "Percy." Percy looked towards her before looking out to the horde. "Oh."
The entire horde of zombies were just standing still, watching them without making a single noise. Not even a cricket as they looked between the living group.
Grover groaned as his other self kept talking, but focused back when Percy knocked the phone away. As Grover and Percy were focusing on the argument between their other selves, the rest began to panic as they understood why the other Annabeth was trying to get Percy's attention.
Both Percy and Grover shouted together, "Tell him the bloody truth!" Though that caused them to pause as they covered their mouths at the same time. 'I think we're slowly turning British.' They thought before noticing the Horde.
"Oh crap!" Everyone but Hades and Nico shouted as the two Death Domains' eyes widened in complete shock.
"I think the zombies were enjoying the show." Apollo said with a chuckle, though he was nervous as well that something bad was going to happen.
Hades' face was completely stoic though his eyes were almost filled with shock. 'How? How in Tartarus' name, is this happening?!' His eyes glanced at his hosts and gave them a glare as he could not speak his findings for some reason.
"I don't think I've ever seen zombies act like that before." Annabeth said, scratching her head at the behavior of the zombies.
"It's comedic, I suppose." Thalia said with a shrug.
Unaware to them, Nico was trying to tell them but could not speak, leading to them not noticing him.
"Xion, please let them talk." Nick pleaded to his temporary co-host.
"You want them to spoil it?" Xion whispered back, with a serious look in her eyes. The host sighed and relented and raised his hands in surrender.
Annabeth then asked Percy, trying to keep herself maintained from all the zombies staring at them. "You said about another way in?"
Percy pointed to the side, "Yeah, there's a-"
Before he could reveal another way in, Jason grabbed a trash can. This caused all the zombies to start groaning and walk towards the group. Percy and Annabeth shouted in unison, "What're you doing!?"
Jason dumped everything out of the can and threw it against the window, breaking it open. "Get inside!" Jason ordered.
"No, they'll follow us!" Percy shouted.
"What!?" Jason couldn't quite hear Percy due to how loud the zombies were being.
"They'll follow us! Just keep up the act. I'll have to do something."
"What do you mean, do something?" Annabeth asked, unintentionally mirroring Percy the day before.
Percy then did either the dumbest or bravest thing in existence. He got up on the window sill and started to get the zombies' attention. "Hello, hello, over here, over here, over here! Come on, come on, that's it!" All the zombies started to pay attention and try reaching for him.
"Oh bollocks! Ok, wait till I'm gone then get inside!" Percy said, looking at the group.
"Gone where!?" Annabeth, Sally, and Grover exclaimed.
"I won't be long, I promise!" Percy then jumped down and pushed through the horde, somehow not getting grabbed or bitten as he weaved through them. "Come on, you pasty-faced fuckers, let's go! Follow me! Come on, let's go! Come on, this way, this way, that's it! Come on, follow me!"
It actually worked as all the zombies began to follow Percy away from the group and around the building. Percy continued to yell out, getting their attention. "Come and get it! It's a running buffet! ALL YOU CAN EAT!!"
Everyone looked on in shock at the balls on Percy for getting all of the zombies' attention. Annabeth looked at Sally and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Jackson, but I have to say this." She then turned to Percy and shouted, "IS YOUR COUNTERPART FUCKING INSANE!?"
Grover then pulled Percy to look at him. "I get you making insane plans, but this counterpart is somehow more insane than you!"
Then Percy was pulled away by Thalia. "Seriously, you know I'd follow you in a lot of crazy plans but this counterpart is going too far in what I can follow!"
"Woah woah woah! This is one plan that I would never follow through with!" Percy said, trying to get out of Thalia's grip.
"You better not." Thalia said with a slight glare. Sally simply allowed her son's friends to handle this, saving her the headache.
"I can't tell if Jackson is brave or incredibly stupid." Athena commented.
"I'll be the first to say both." Poseidon said with a shake of his head and a chuckle.
Jason was also chuckling before he got slapped at the back of the head by Piper. "Don't think your counterpart isn't in trouble, if he didn't pick up that trash can, then Percy's counterpart wouldn't need to do this."
"Hey don't blame me! This is all his fault!" Jason said before pointing to Grover.
"He's not wrong." Grover said with a sigh.
"Yeah, but he also didn't try to break the widow. You know, the thing that could have kept the zombies from getting in!" Thalia countered, with a glare that only an older sibling could do.
"Alright, that's enough from all of you." Sally said, making them all become silent. "What's done is done. Playing the blame game will get no one anywhere. By all means, be mad about your other self's decisions, but do not blame each other for them."
"Yes, Miss Jackson." They all said in unison. Feeling like kids that were just admonished.
Xion leaned next to Nick before whispering. "She is the reason why Dad doesn't mess with the Riordanverse as much as he does RWBY."
"Understandable." Nick replied with a small laugh.
"Should we continue?"
"One more minute or two, then we'll take a quick break." Nick said before clicking play.
Jason looked towards the group and asked, "Shall we go in?" Everyone started to walk towards the open window. Sally looked on in worry before her foot kicked against some paper. She looked down to find a bouquet of flowers. She picked them up and Annabeth walked up to her.
"Come on, Sally. Leave those." Annabeth said gently as she held her arm.
Sally's eyes shined with realization. "I think they're for me." They walked to the window and a loud bell rang as the screen turned to black.
"Hey, Sally got her flowers." Hazel said with a smile.
"Hopefully Percy can make it back so Ms. Jackson can thank him." Frank said in a hopeful tone.
"Look, I know I'm stupid, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find a way out of it." Percy said, a slight waver in his confidence.
"They seem to be slow, so he could get far away enough and possibly hide off to the side and just wait until they're fully gone so he can get back to them." Annabeth suggested.
"So just give them the slip? I suppose that would work against those undead freaks." Thalia said.
"Stealth would certainly work against them." Artemis said in approval.
"I could also enter the other way that I mentioned before Jason destroyed part of our defense." Percy pointed out.
"Let's just hope things will get better from there." Leo said with a breath before popping a piece of popcorn in his mouth.
"Leo, if you jinx us, I will feed you to Mrs. O'Leary." Percy said, looking at him.
"I'll hold him down." Piper said, before she and Percy shared a high five.
"Screw you guys." Leo crossed his arms and pouted.
The demigods all shared a laugh, while the gods watched with either amusement or indifference. However, one god had a worried look on his face, realizing the true nature of the zombies. And he was being forced to stay silent about it.
However, something told him and his son that everyone else would learn about it very soon.
