Weiss is about to face whatever Professor Port has in that cage. She gets into a fighting stance with her rapier. Her team began to cheer for her, but wasn't so happy when Ruby did. Port brought out his weapon and sliced the lock off. Out came a Grimm reminiscent to a pig with large mammoth like tusks. This was called a Bourbatusk. The Grimm charges the Heiress, and she steps aside slashing its side to no effect. The two charge at each other only for the Grimm to get her blade stuck in its tusks.
Ruby holds her fists close to her chest as she cheers. "Come on Weiss! Show it who's boss!"
Ruby's comment distracts the Heiress. First mistake. The Grimm than rips the weapon from her grasp flinging it to the other side of the room. Afterward it bashes her with its tusks sending her a good distance away. The Grimm goes for another attack by charging at her, but Weiss is able to get out of the way leaving the Grimm to run into a desk. She then gets up and runs to her weapon retrieving it.
Seeing her struggle, Ruby starts to give her advice. "Weiss, go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-"
"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss snaps. This causes Ruby to sit back in shame. This just pisses me off. Rex thought. Ruby was giving her helpful advice, and yet Weiss is yelling at her.
The Grimm then begins spinning in rapid succession, becoming a Wheel Of Death. While doing this it rapidly charged at Weiss. She uses her Glyph as a shield causing the Grimm to flip over to its back due to the speed it was going. Weiss then uses another Glyph to launch herself at the Grimm's belly with her blade killing it.
Professor Port claps his hands in applause. "Bravo! Braa-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training. I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings and, stay vigilant."
Weiss storms out of the class with Ruby chasing after her. This was the only class of the day for freshman so Team SCRL decides to go to Vale for the rest of the day.
Vale: 6:12pm
"Look all I'm saying is that Ⱡ600 for food is ridiculous!" Lilly complains.
"Well I think it was rather cheap considering the steak Crimson ate." Anakin retorts.
"Hey!" Crimson protests, a little offended. Lilly goes to argue further but then accepts defeat.
"Whats with that by the way? How do you eat that much steak without gaining the slightest amount of weight." Rex asks gesturing to the man in question.
"What? A faunus has to eat." He replies simply while shrugging his shoulders.
"Wait... Your a faunus?" Lilly asks completely baffled
"Yup. Crocodile."
Lilly furrows her brows. "Wait but I don't see any crocodile traits." He simply gives a wide smile showing off his teeth. They were sharp and reminded Anakin and Rex of teeth one would see on a trandoshan.
Anakin shakes the thought away as another takes its place. "Hey Crimson, mind if ask a question?"
He shrugs. "I don't see why not."
"I haven't met many Faunus, but the two I have, you and one other, seem to hide there Faunus traits. Is there a reason why?"
Lilly and Crimson share a look before turning back to Anakin. "What do you know of Faunus?"
"Not much." Anakin admits. "Only found out about your existence about three days ago."
Crimson furrows his brows for a moment but finds himself chuckling slightly. "Well.. right now Faunus aren't treated as equals to some humans. Sure things are way better now than they use to be, but there's still a lot of tension between our species."
Lilly nods. "Yeah, years ago humans would enslave Faunus and treat them like animals. It's just atrocious if you ask me. So what someone has a tail. Big deal. Move on. There still people."
Rex looks to Anakin in concern noticing his fists clenching to the mention of slavery. Crimson notices this too, but decides not to say anything. Rex however does notice Crimson glancing at the lightsaber on Anakin's belt a few times though.
Anakin sighs deeply. "Because of the history there are still people out there treating Faunus differently isn't there, and that's why some hide?" Crimson nods. "Well if you want to hide your Faunus heritage, I won't say a thing."
"Thank you." The team then stops at a couple more shops before returning to Beacon.
A couple weeks pass and Team SCRL were in Professor Goodwitch's class. Jaune is getting his ass handed to him by Cardin, again. Cardin is standing over Jaune getting ready to finish the poor guy off, but A buzzer goes off and Glenda steps in.
"Cardin, that's enough. Student's as you can see Mr. Arc's aura has dropped into the red. In a tournament style duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle and that the official may call the match." She then turns to Jaune "Mister Arc, it's been weeks now. Please try to refer to your scroll during combat. Gauging your aura will help you decide when it is appropriate to attack, or when it is better to move to a more... defensive strategy. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf, now would we." Cardin leaves the stage while Jaune just sits there in shame. "Remember everyone! The Vytal Festival is only a few months away It wont be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who chose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale." And with that the bell rings and everyone is off to lunch.
"So... There we were... In the middle of the night..." Nora was telling a story as Ren corrects her.
"It was day..."
"We were surrounded by aliens."
"They were masked men."
"DOZENS OF THEM!"
"Two of'em..."
"But they were no match, and in the end... Ren and I took them down and we're celebrated as heroes!"
Ren gives off a sigh before speaking again "She has been having this reoccurring dream for nearly a month now..."
Team SCRL are at a table with Team JNPR, Team RWBY, Lilly however is off getting food still. Jaune looks miserable and hasn't even began to eat his food yet.
"Jaune? Are you Okay?" Pyrrha asks to the miserable looking guy.
"Huh..." He snaps back to reality and looks to Pyrrha "Oh, Yeah! Why?"
"It's just..." Ruby starts.
"You look like Dwang" Rex finnishes
"Huh?" RWBY, JNPR, CL all look to him in confusion
"You look like shit." Anakin translates.
"Oh" Jaune says. "Guys, I'm fine... Seriously, look!" He puts on a fake smile and gives a thumbs up. The teams then hear the sound of laughing. They look to see Cardin and his team picking on a bunny faunus. At this Anakin is getting a little upset, and he can tell Rex and Crimson feel the same way.
"Do what must be done." A voice commands in Anakin's mind. Anakin shakes the thought away.
"Jaune, Cardin has been picking on you since the first week of school." Pyrrha points out.
"Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... he just likes to mess around, you know? Practical jokes!" Jaune tries to defend.
"He's a bully." Ruby states.
"Oh please... name one time he has 'bullied' me..." Jaune questions.
"That time he knocked your books out of your hand while you were trying to get to class" Pyrrha states.
"He activated your shield in a doorway causing it to get stuck." Anakin adds.
"What about the time he shoved you in one of the lockers, which are rocket propelled mind you, and launched it!" Rex shouts, mad because Goodwitch had him go get Jaune.
"I didn't land far from the school..." Jaune defends.
"NOT FAR FROM THE SCHOOL! I had to run seven miles to find you!" Rex yells standing from the table before sitting back down grumbling.
"Jaune, you know if you need help you only have to ask" Pyrrha advises.
"OOH!" Nora gets up and into a pose before giving her thoughts. "We'll break his legs!" This gets Rex excited.
"Yeah! See, Nora gets it!" Nora and Rex high five.
"Guys, really, it's fine! Besides, It's not like he's only a jerk to me; he's a jerk to everyone." Jaune states.
"Ooww, that hurts!" Cries a girl.
Anakin felt the presence in his mind again making his thoughts fuzzy. "Show no mercy!" A voice commands. The teams look over again to see Cardin pulling the bunny girl faunus's ear. Crimson, Blake, Pyrrha, Ruby, and Rex are enraged, but that stops when they feel everything go cold. The teams look to Anakin as he slams his food tray on the table hands shaking. Crimson can see Anakin's sky blue eyes turn a Glowing Gold and his eyes widened with a flash of recognition. Anakin walks over to the bullies while Cardin is still laughing.
As Anakin approaches the scum known as Cardin, he grab the wrist Cardin is using to hold the faunus girls ear with his mechanical hand... *SNAP* without hesitation Anakin snaps Cardin's wrist going strait through the aura causing the bully to let go. He screams in pain, and his lackeys try something but they stop from a simple gesture from Anakin's hand. All of them begin reaching for there throats trying to break free from an invisible force while they are lifted off the ground. Anakin tosses them out one of the windows before putting his attention back on Cardin. Anakin can sense the fear radiating off of him.
Anakin glares into Cardins eyes. "I catch you pulling this shit again, and I wont stop with the wrist. Now get out of my sight!"
He gets up and runs out the door while Anakin tries to calm himself down. After a moment he turns back, and goes to sit back in his seat. After a few seconds he looks up to notice RWBY, JPR, and CRL looking at Anakin with a little fear. Nora is just giggling and smiling.
"What." He asks. Before they say anything the bunny faunus taps Anakin's shoulder getting his attention. "Yeah?"
"Um.. I-I w-wanted to thank you... for sticking up for me." The faunus girl says with soft smile.
Anakin gives her a smile before replying. "It's no problem. If he ever pulls that act again, let me know I'll set him strait." She gives a small smile and nods.
"I'm Velvet." She says offering her hand.
"Anakin." He shakes her hand, and she leaves. Anakin then looks back to his friends who seemed to be easing up a bit.
"It wasn't the legs but it was just as satisfying" Nora states happily.
"Mister Skywalker!" Glynda Goodwitch shouts from the entrance.
