As the Bullhead lands SCRL and Oobleck jump out. The Bullhead the flys off back to Beacon. Oobleck then gains the group's attention.
"Alright, you four may still be students, but as of this moment your first mission as Huntsman, and a Huntress has begun. You need to do exactly as I say!" He then turns to Rex who had a backpack on. "Rex! I thought I told you to leave your bags at school."
Rex shuffles nervously as all eyes land on him. "Um.. with all due respect sir. You hadn't told us to listen yet." Rex says hoping it would help his situation. Anakin snickers.
"He's not wrong." Oobleck says to himself. "Very well young Rex; leave your bag here, we can pick it up upon our return."
"Um sir I'm not sure that's a good idea." Rex states.
"Why is that Young Rex?" Oobleck asks. Rex just takes his pack off and opens it for Oobleck to see. Inside the bag was filled with hand made explosives. "Oh." Oobleck blinks. "GENIUS!!!" Oobleck shouts pointing his right index finger into the air. "Explosives such as these can help us in numerous ways! Great job."
"So what now sir?" Anakin asks.
"Ah strait to the chase, I like it!" Oobleck smiles. "As you've been informed, the southeast area has been marked as a recent hot spot for Grimm activity. Now, there are several possible explanations for this behavior, one of which being... Grimm." He blinks.
The team looks at him confused. "Grimm sir?" Rex asks.
"Yes Grimm." Oobleck confirms. "A creature of Grimm approximately one hundred yards from us at this very moment." The teams eyes widened as they ready their weapons turning around to see a lone Beowolf wandering around the abandoned street. "Wait!" Oobleck says. "There are a number of reasons why Grimm will congregate in this particular area, the most likely of which will be their attraction to negativity: sadness, envy, loneliness, hatred. All qualities that are likely held by our hidden group harboring ill intent."
Anakin nods to this. "So what should we do?" Track it?"
"Yes!" Oobleck agrees. "If this specimen leads us to its pack, that pack may subsequently lead us to our prey."
"Sounds good." Crimson shrugs.
"So how long do we track?" Lilly asks.
"It's uncertain. Hours, days, weeks. Why, lone Grimm have been known to stay isolated from the pack for months - and there's the whole pack." Oobleck says. The team whips their heads around to see the pack of Beowolves.
"What!?" Anakin almost shouts.
"And now they've seen us." Oobleck states.
"What?!!" Lilly shouts louder.
"AND NOW THEVE SEEN US!!!" Oobleck shouts loudest.
Rex pulls out his blasters and Anakin ignites his blue lightsaber, Lilly ready's her twin tomahawks and Crimson ready's his Shotgun spear.
"I take it tracking is out of the question then?" Anakin assumes.
"An accurate assumption." Oobleck states. "Yes."
Rex chuckles. "Leta see how they like a good old 501st blaster bolt between the eyes." He says. He then turns to Anakin. "We keeping score like the good old days?"
"Your on!" Anakin grins. The two then take off ahead. Crimson and Lilly turn to Oobleck.
"Don't look at me." He says. "Those Grimm won't kill themselves." They then hurry off to catch up to their leader.
Rex got the first kill and the second with two perfect shots to the head. The plasma of the blaster blot melting through the boney armor of the Grimm like a knife through gelatin. After five more kills Anakin finally reaches his first Beowolf. Using the force to pull it to him before impaling it with his blade killing it instantly. He then leaps over to another slashing its head off and using the force to choke another to death before killing the last by slashing it in half vertically.
Anakin smirks before looking to Rex. "How many you get?"
"Seven." Rex announces. "You?"
Anakin sighs. "Four." Rex fist pumps the air in glee as Crimson and Lilly catch up with Oobleck following.
"That was rather fast!" Oobleck praises. "Goodwork boys. Now I would like to see each of your skills individually while we are here. So who wants to go first?"
The team looks between each other but then Lilly nods. "I'll go sir." She volunteers.
"Vary well. You and I shall check the building to our right while your team checks the building to the left. Come along!" He then races over to the building with Lilly following
Once inside it was quite. The building was practically crumbling beneath them. Oobleck follows as Lilly lead the way. In the other building however Anakin stops in his tracks clutching his head in pain.
Rex stops, noticing this. "Anakin, you okay?"
"Somethings wrong. I just felt something. Something I haven't felt since..." Anakin ponders for a moment. "This presence. This pain and hatred..." Anakin's eyes widened in realization. "Galen." He gasped. Anakin quickly shut his own presence in the force hoping to hide. "I won't be able to use the force for now."
"What?" Rex asks in disbelief. "What do you mean?"
"Starkiller is here."
Rex's face formed to one of terror. "I-is he on our S-side or..."
"No." Anakin says darkly.
With Lilly and Oobleck they had reached the roof. The building had been empty. "Miss Volantine, May I ask why it is that you chose this line of work?" Lilly gives a hum turning to the Doctor with a confused look.
"Well I want to help people and..."
"No." Oobleck stops her. "That is what you do. I want the honest reason."
"The honest reason?" Lilly frowns. After a moment she sighs. "I want to be like my father. I wanted to when I was a kid but after his death, I guess I figured that becoming a Huntress would let me be closer to him in a way even if he isn't here."
"Ah," Oobleck smiles. "That's a much more personal reason than I've heard from most." Lilly looks to Oobleck in question. "You see, I've meet some who are thrill seekers, some who believe it's their destiny, and some who want the fame and fortune. I've only meet two students who do this job to feel closer to the deceased. You being one of them." Oobleck says.
Lilly looks down in thought to his words. Later the group met up once again as they spit once more, this time Anakin going with the Doctor. "What about you Anakin?" Oobleck asks while Anakin decapitates a Alpha Beowolf. "You seem to have a sense of purpose surrounding you. Why choose this line of work over a simpler life?"
Anakin frowned. "I can't stand by and let people get hurt. I've caused enough pain and death as it is. I'll do whatever I can to atone for what I've done. Being a Huntsman seemed to be the way to go."
"I see."
Next was Crimson who had a small pack of puppeteered Beowolves scouting out with them. The puppets then spotteda lone Ursa and swarmed it tearing it apart. Oobleck cringed at the howls of pain. "How about you Crimson." Oobleck said tearing his attention away from the gruesome sight. "What do you seek by choosing this line of work."
Crimson gained a saddened look. "I'm keeping a promise to someone." He answers vaguely.
Oobleck frowns not expecting the answer. "A promise?"
"Yes." Crimson states. Oobleck frowns knowing he wouldn't get anything more.
Finally the group was setting up camp and Oobleck took Rex to establish a perimeter. "What do you think Rex?" Oobleck started gaining the mans attention. "What's your reason for becoming a Huntsman?"
Rex frowned. "I suppose fighting is all I know. Guess that's probably the main reason, but mainly I was following Anakin's lead. I guess I didn't give it much thought at the time."
Oobleck nodded. "Following your brother I see. I can understand that."
Rex chuckled at the mans words. Still keep forgetting that Anakin and I are considered Brothers here. He thought. Then Rex frowned again. "What about you Doctor? Why did you become a Huntsman?"
Oobleck smiles at the question. "Look around and tell me Rex what you see."
"The Aftermath of a tragedy."Rex states.
Oobleck nod to Rex's answer. "Exactly. What I see here are lives. Lives that could have been saved. Sure one can make a difference with weapons, but I believe I can make a much bigger impact if I do it with my mind." Oobleck smirks. "I chose to be a Huntsman Rex because anytime a student steps into my class I can give them the knowledge they need to save others. I chose to be a Huntsman Rex, because there is nothing in this world I would rather be."
