Everyone knew MJ liked Chris. Chris only showed her feelings once.
*Flash Back*
"Wait Chase wasn't Jupitar and Kevin talking about two pups when we were trying to stop her from killing him. Again." asked Rocky.
"Yeah, something about MJ and Chris. That MJ likes Chris if I remember clearly." Chase answered. (From the adults)
Then they saw MJ looking at Chris.
"You like my sister, don't you?" MJ turned around and saw Penny there with Calvin behind her.
"Yeah I do, but it seems like a waste of her time." MJ said.
"Well, has she ever said anything to you that was sweet before." Calvin asked.
"No."
"Have you given her anything, to show that you care for her?" Penny asked.
"I did once, but she didn't say anything."
"What did you give her?"
"That blue stuff police toy." MJ said.
"That was from you, I asked her who gave it to her, and she just told me a good friend of hers." Penny said. "But she didn't say the name or anything. She just put it in the toy box. MJ looked sad.
"So me having feelings for her is useless." MJ said and walked outside the Lookout. (To their teammates)
"Hey MJ what's wrong?" she asked. He just looked at her, and turned his head.
"It's nothing."
"Are you sure you look upset?"
"Don't worry about me. I just want to be left alone."
"No, you're my friend and I want to help you."
"Chris, how can you help a pup with a broken heart and who knows that the pup he likes doesn't show those same feelings, and that the love and care you have for that pup is nothing." Chris looked at him worried.
"Did you try to tell the pup how you feel?"
"I tried once but she just gave me a look. No words, so I have no idea. I even gave her a toy to show her that I care for her." MJ said. Chris started to realize that he was talking about her.
"MJ I'm sorry but I don't have any feelings for you. You know that..." she said.
I know that you want to be just like your dad and be part of the Paw Patrol."
"Right, I don't have time for love or anything else."
"Whatever." MJ walked away from her. Chris watched him walk away and went to the Lookout. (She knew but turned him down.)
"Yes Penny." Chris said.
"What did you tell him?"
"It's none of your business Penny so go back to Calvin."
"You're my sister Chris, and you look upset."
"Penny, leave me alone!" she yelled. "Look I don't need you to help me so leave me alone! How about you go back to whatever you do. Or how about this: go down to the police station and cuddle with Calvin. Since you don't do anything here other than sit around. You have no skills, so how about you stay out of my life and work on yours! You are useless, stupid, good for nothing sister of mine." Chris turned back around away from Penny. Then she started to hear her cry. "Oh no." Chris looked back at her sister who had tears coming down her face. "Penny..." But she backed up.
"Sorry that I care about you, and that I was born to be your sister!" Penny packed her stuff and ran out of the Lookout crying.
"I'm in so much trouble." Chris thought in her head. (Yelling at her sister Penny. The rest of the team heard her and stated this to their parents as well. When Penny wanted to run away from home.)
"Christina!" yelled Chase and Skye. She knows that they never used her whole name before, so she knows that she was in trouble.
"Yes." As she walked to her parents.
"Young lady, why would you say that to your own sister?" Skye said.
"I was telling the truth." Chris said.
"But you don't say that to your own sister, she's going to be a ninja pup, or if she changes her mind maybe help Katie or Cleo in her future. Then with MJ..."
"Did you find him?" she yelled.
"Yes we did." Chase said.
"He is okay." Chase and Skye saw that worried look on her face.
"Yes he's okay. Christina did you flip out on your sister because you were worried about MJ." Chase asked. Chris backed up a little on what her dad said. "From your reaction I will take that as a yes. Chris showing your feelings for someone that you care or love for is not a bad thing, and it doesn't show weakness."
"I never said that I'm in love with MJ." she said blushing.
"So you are in love with MJ." Said Skye with a smile.
"I didn't mean it like that. I didn't even say that either. I was just worried that he would not return back to the Lookout. I didn't mean to take my anger out on Penny but..."
"But you were worried about him. So your emotions went crazy." Skye said. Chris nodded. "Sweety you need to tell Penny and MJ that you are sorry." (First time showing that she cares about him. Well after getting yelled at by her parents.)
"MJ I...I'm."
"Save it." he said. Chris looked at him. "Look, I forgive you."
"But it doesn't seem like it."
"Just remember what I told you before. And I'll leave it at that." MJ said and walked away to his dad's doghouse outside.
"It's going to take some time for him, Chris," said Sasha. Chris walked away and went to her bed. Then she noticed the toy on her bed. It was the police toy that MJ gave her. So she left it on her bed, and started crying. (Realizing her true feelings about him)
*End of Flashback*
After those moments Chris remained the same way but noticed more about him that she didn't realize before. His laugh, how much he cares for his family, protective of his sister and brother and how much he loves his job. The more she saw the more she liked him. When he is near her, she will try to show it but it doesn't work. Chris already knew how MJ feels about her. How can she have the same feelings? One night, Chris was walking outside looking at the moon. After that mission at Barkingburg, Chris's head was hurting.
"Maybe walking around should help me." she thought. So she did but dropped down. In the morning, Chase and Skye were the first ones but there was no Chris with them. It was always the three of them up in the morning to wake up the team.
"Do you want me to wake up everyone while you look for her?" asked Chase.
"No, I got them. You will be able to track her down better than me. For one thing she is not with Zeus." They looked at him with Raven. Duke took him off duty until he felt better. His back was still hurting him even after Trixie's training for the backs. The scar on Zeus's back wasn't bad but Duke wants to take him to the hospital to double check. So Chase went outside to get his daughter. He got her scent and went off. In the forest, he found Chris on the ground but was breathing heavily. Chase was about to move her but she woke up.
"Morning dad." Then she realized where she was at. "I have to wake up the team." She was about to run off but Chase stopped her. "Dad let me go. I have a job to do."
"Your mother is waking them today. I came out here to get you." Chase said as he looked at her face. Her face was a little red and was still breathing heavily. Chase was about to put his paw on her forehead but she backed up.
"I'm fine dad." She said with a smile. So they walked back to the Lookout. Once they got back, Chris went into her father's dog house and laid down.
"What's wrong with Chris?" Asked Skye.
"The only thing I can say is that she doesn't feel good and might have a fever. I was about to get Duke."
"What's up Chase?" Duke asked.
"Can you do a check up on Chris please? She is not feeling good." Said Skye. Duke looked at her. Chris was asleep and sweating. So he got his bag and did a check up but Chase had to move her into the health room.
"Well she has a fever of 110° and a sore throat." Duke said. "With her coughing like this it's hurting her throat. She's going to have to remain here in the room. Also I'm taking her collar away and it's going into Ryder's room."
"Good idea. She will go on a mission if she hears it go off." Said Skye. So they left the room and told Ryder and Cleo. For the next few days Chris had no missions but it didn't stop her from having company in the room with her. MJ will be there after a mission. She would wake up when he walked in the room. They will talk about how the mission went and see if Jupitar got cleared to return. Which she did but only when she's needed. Chris was happy to see him and knew it. Her smile when he walks in and she will ask MJ if he can stay in the room with her since she was lonely. Time went by and Chris wasn't getting any better. Duke was about to take her to the hospital but she refused. Stubborn like her father. At night, Chris woke up in a cold sweat. She got up and couldn't feel her legs. Chris still managed to go outside to get some fresh air. Doing so made her feel worse and dizzy. MJ was outside and saw her.
"Chris, you need to go back inside." He said. She heard him but couldn't move. MJ walked to her and saw her face. It was red but worse than before. Chris fainted and her head landed on MJ's shoulder with her breath going down his neck. "Uncle Chase. Dad. Uncle Duke. Wake up. I found Chr…." A paw covered his mouth. It's Chris.
"Shut up. I'm fine. Don't call them." Her paw fell. "Don't…" It was too late. Her father, Duke and Marshall were standing there looking at her and MJ. "I don't like you right now. You know that, right?" She smiled at him as she put her head back on his shoulder. Her paw went on his. This was the first time she did that. Without a warning she moved her head and body into his so that her father can't move her.
"Chris. You are…"
"Too close. I know but I actually like being this close to you. I wanted to do this for a while but was scared to do so." MJ looked at her even though he couldn't see her face. Chris moved her head more into his neck.
"Chris, you were never loving like this before. Are you sure you are feeling good?"
"I may not be feeling good but I still know what's going on." Then she went quiet. MJ heard sleeping so he moved her back inside himself with the help of his father and Chase. Duke did another check on her and she still has a fever and went up to 125°. Duke took her to the hospital so that she could be monitored. After that night between him and Chris, MJ was in lala land. No one could get his attention. Not even his own parents.
"Lyle, do you have a clue what's going on?" Asked Ice. He nodded no.
"Something must have happened if MJ was deep in thought." Atlas said as he was about to kick the soccer ball to Stan.
"I've never seen him like this." Said Brandon.
"Where's Raven?" Asked Riley.
"She went on a date with Zeus. They said they were going to a restaurant in Adventure City." Oliver walked to the group.
"Well I know that Chris is in the hospital right now. So he might be worried about her." Penny said as she and Calvin walked in. "We just visited her not too long ago. Chris told me what happened between them. So he might need a few minutes to himself." The others looked at her then back at MJ. As time went by, MJ did visit her but he was worried.
"Will she do the same thing as the last time? Maybe I should prepare myself if she gets close to me." He was thinking to himself. Chris woke up and looked at him. While MJ was thinking to himself, it was perfect timing to walk to him. She got herself up and did what she wanted to do. Chris sat down next to him and put her paw on his only to get his attention. MJ jumped a little.
"When did you come over here?" He asked. Chris smiled.
"When you were thinking to yourself. What's on your mind anyway?"
"Nothing."
"That's a lie. You're just worried that I would do the same thing as last time. Breathing heavy down your neck, with my body against you and my paw on yours. I told you. I may be sick but I know what's going on around me." MJ was quiet. "I know I never did this to you. It's only because others were around."
"It's just new to me that you did this. Will this be something that's going to happen more?"
"Maybe, but that's up to you. You might get something else once I feel better. Hehe." She giggled and got closer to MJ. MJ was nervous but she only put her paw on him. "Calm down will you."
"Sorry." He smiled. Then he felt her forehead. It was hot. "Chris, I need you to lay down or you will never get better."
"I know…"
"You have no one here." She just nodded. "I can stay here if you want me too." Chris looked at him. "This time you haven't asked me. Hey you can't be the only one with surprises. Now go lay down please.
"Fine." She got down and went back to her bed. Chris ended up falling asleep. The nurse came in and saw MJ there laying against the wall asleep. So he took his collar off and put it outside at the front desk. So the other nurses can hold on to it. MJ didn't know that he can't have his collar in the room or Chris will get motivated to go on a mission. Another nurse walked in to check on Chris. Her fever is going down and it's at 115°. The next day, Chase and Skye came in for a visit.
"Morning mom. Morning dad." She said with a smile.
"Morning. Were you expecting someone else today." Skye said smiling. Chris's ears dropped. "I will take that as a yes."
"MJ is on a mission right now. Our group doesn't have one for right now." Said Chase.
"Thank goodness you are feeling better." Said Skye.
"The doctor spoke to us before we walked in the room. Once your fever breaks you will be able to go home."
"I feel alot better now. Can I go home today? I miss going on missions with the rest of the team." begged Chris.
"Chris, they miss you as well. Since Zeus is back on his paws again. He is taking care of everything." said Skye.
"Even the missions for the Paw Patrol as well." Chris said with a frown. Chase and Skye nodded. "*Sigh* Fine. Whatever." Chris faced the wall looking outside the window. Then the nurse knocked on the door.
"Ryder is paging you guys." He said.
"Got it." They both said.
"We will be back later," said Skye.
"Okay. Fine. See you later." She laid back down. Chase was worried about her. Chase and Skye headed back to the Lookout. The nurse left the door open so that he can take Chris for a walk around the hospital. Mainly in the kids part of the hospital. They love her.
"This is my chance to get out of here." she said, jumping out of bed. Looking in the hallway, there was no one around so she took off. At the nurses desk, Chris was looking for her collar. "If I was Uncle Duke, where would it be?" She was thinking well looking for the exit. "Seriously Ryder's room. Now I have to get to the Lookout to get it back and see what's going on." Running to the Lookout was hard, even if she was feeling better. By the time she got there, both teams were gone. "They will be back soon. I need to hide my tracks from my family and I know a way to do so." She ran inside and got Cleo's old grapefruit sprays. As she was searching the spray was making the place smell good. First she got her uniform so that she can hide from the cameras. She walked into Ryder's room and her nose was on fire. "How can Ryder sleep in a smelly room? I see why Lyle doesn't go in here." She found her collar, put it on and ran out. "They need to turn off the heat here." Hearing that both teams have returned it was going to be harder to get out now but with the help of the spray might help her. The hospital calls Cleo's phone.
"Wait!?" Cleo yelled. "Okay we will look for her. "Paw Patrol! Ninja to the Lookout! Now!"
"We just finished a mission." complained Zuma. So they all went to the top of the Lookout. They lined up.
"Guys, we don't have time right now." Cleo said.
"What's going on Cleo?" asked Jupitar. Cleo looked at the big screen. It was Aaliyah and her group.
"What's up Cleo." asked Kevin as one of his pups was on his back. The pup has hazel eyes and brown fur.
"M-" They all looked at the pup. "Mommy come home." Jupitar dropped her head. Kevin looked at his daughter.
"Mommy is about to go on a mission. She will be home later, okay." Kevin stated. The pup nodded her head but was still looking at what was going on.
"Jupitar, she's cute my goodness." Said Ice.
"Back to the mission, I just got a call from the hospital. Chris ran away and they are looking for her around the hospital." Everyone's mouths dropped but looked at Chase.
"What?" he said.
"Just like her. Can't stay still or is that Kari." said Andrew who was about not to laugh.
"That's Kari," said Wendy. Penny started to sniff around. "Penny what's wrong?" Penny didn't answer, then her ears went up.
"Penny what did you find?" Calvin asked. Then she ran off. The team followed and went downstairs. Penny went to sniff around the Lookout. Calvin was the only one that knew Penny's nose is stronger than the rest of the family.
"Penny. Say something," said Oliver. Then only Ice understood.
"Her sense of smell is stronger than the rest of you guys." said Ice, getting their attention. Chase looked at his daughter and he started to smell around but couldn't go pass the grapefruit spray. The same thing goes for his son, Kari and her kids.
"I smell Cleo's grapefruit spray. There's a small smell of Chris here as well. You guys stay here for a little while." Penny ran upstairs but ran back down. "She went into Ryder's room. How can you sleep in a smelly room? It smells like dirty socks and Katie."
"Penny!" said Ryder embarrassed. Cleo was laughing a little.
"So she was here but what does it have to do with Ryder's room?" asked Brittani. Duke remembered.
"Her collar was in his room. I thought if I put it in the nastiest room she wouldn't go in." Duke said.
"Okay. So Ryder's smell room didn't help. Now what?" asked Marshall. MJ was getting worried then heard coughing. He looked in that direction. "Son. What got your attention?" MJ walked to the coughing sound but saw nothing.
"Penny, I think I found her. Chris has her uniform on." MJ said as Penny went over to him. MJ poked something as Penny sniffed.
"It's her." Penny moved Chris so that everyone could see her. "She doesn't look so good.
"Well she ran away from the hospital so her condition must have gotten worse." Said Zeus. Skye went to her daughter to get the uniform.
"Christina." said Chase. She woke up and in her mind once again she's in trouble.
"Yes father." She said as she was getting up. MJ was still next to her for support.
"Why did you leave the hospital and you know that you have to remain there?"
"I know." Chris looked at MJ as he was holding her up.
"*sigh* MJ take her back to the hospital please." Once she heard that, she pushed MJ out the way and ran off. He went after her. "Christina!" This time Chase yelled. Chris stopped making MJ crash into her. Chase walked up to her and got her by her collar. Chase took her back himself. Days went and only MJ visited her. The rest of the team visited her as well and so did her parents.
"You know why, right?" said MJ.
"I know. Father wants me to get better."
"Yeah and so do I. Chris sadly I love it when you get like this."
"You do?"
"Yes. It's cute and I love it. It showed me who you are." Chris got closer to him.
"I also umm…" Chris was trying to find the right words. MJ looked at her. "Well…" Chris's face was getting red but it was not from the fever. That broke two days ago. MJ moved her face so that he could look at her. Chris just her head on his shoulder and moved closer to his body like she did the last time. "I like you as well. Everything about you. Kind heart, hyper, full of energy and enjoy his job on the team." Her paw went off his chest to push herself away from him. From the look of her eyes Chris was embarrassed to say this to him. "I … I"
"I love you Chris." He said putting his paw on her cheek. Her ears dropped.
"I wasn't going to say that."
"Yes. You wanted to but you are just afraid to say it. So I said it myself."
"I don't like you right now."
"I know." As MJ moved his head to hers. "Tell me something I don't know."
"Shut up you." MJ laughed and kissed her.
*But would there relationship last.*
