Chapter 30-Mr. and Mrs. Hank Voight
As she started down the aisle, Jenna didn't hear the music, didn't see any of the guests, and didn't even realize her son was next to her. All she could focus on was Hank at the end. He had tears in his eyes, and they started falling as she got closer to him. Jenna didn't expect that kind of emotion from him, and it made her feel even more loved.
Hank couldn't breathe when he saw Jenna. She looked even more beautiful than he imagined, and he still couldn't understand how this day was even real. He was overcome with emotion, and he couldn't help the few tears that made their way down his face. Erin could recognize his struggle, so she reached over and put her hand on his shoulder.
Because Erin was partially responsible for the start of their relationship, and she had always been their biggest supporter, they asked her to perform their wedding ceremony. She was humbled by the honor and thrilled to be a part of their day.
When Jenna finally reached the end of the aisle, Hank couldn't hold back. He took Jenna's hands and pulled into his arms, holding her tight against him as he tried to compose himself. When he finally pulled back to look at her, he stroked her cheek.
"Hey beautiful," he said softly.
"Hi. Are you ok?" Jenna asked, wiping his tears.
Hank nodded, struggling to speak. "Yeah. You look incredible."
Jenna smiled up at him. "Thank you."
He pulled her close again, kissing her forehead before finally looking at Erin.
"Are you done? Can I do my thing now?" Erin asked teasingly.
Everyone in the audience laughed. "Yeah, go ahead," Hank said.
"Welcome everyone! We are gathered here today to celebrate and to witness the joining of Hank and Jenna in marriage. Thank you all for gathering here to share in the joy of this special occasion. I am so honored to be standing up here, especially because according to Hank, I'm basically responsible for this relationship ever happening." She stopped as everyone laughed. "I've been asked to keep this short and sweet, and I will do my best to get through this without crying. Hank and Jenna, please join hands."
Jenna took a deep breath and squeezed Hank's hands.
"I love you," she whispered.
"I love you," Hank whispered back.
"Hank, we'll start with you. Please repeat after me," Erin said.
"I Hank, take you Jenna, to be my wife."
They'd agreed to use traditional vows, the only part of their day containing any tradition. Jenna felt there was something incredibly special to speak the same words and promises that generations of people before them spoke to join their lives together. Hank agreed, a part of him glad that Jenna wasn't making him write his own vows.
Jenna couldn't hold back her tears as Hank spoke. She was completely overwhelmed with love for him, and she felt the sincerity in every word he spoke to her. When Hank was finished, he let go of Jenna's hands and pulled out a tissue, gently wiping her tears. He pulled her close, pressing his forehead against hers.
"Don't you dare kiss her until I tell you to," Erin said teasingly, again causing the entire room to erupt in laughter again.
"Then hurry this thing along," he said softly, holding Jenna close.
"I'm trying. Jenna, it's your turn. Please repeat after me."
"I don't know if I can even speak," she said, trying to choke down her tears. She took a deep breath, took Hank's hands again, and started her vows.
"I Jenna, take you Hank, to be my husband."
Hank couldn't help his own tears forming again hearing Jenna's tearful vows. This whole day still seemed like such a dream, and he prayed that if it was, that he would never wake up.
"I love you," he said softly as Jenna finished her vows.
"I love you," Jenna whispered.
They exchanged rings, continuing their promises to each other. Finally, they reached the moment they had both been waiting for.
"As we come to a close, I want to leave you with a few words," Erin said. "I hope that you two will always remember the way you feel today, right now. I hope that you will remember the words you've spoken and the promises you've made. I hope that you will cling to those feelings and words and promises during the hard times. I have no doubt that the future holds only good things for this relationship, and I love you both tremendously. Hank and Jenna, you have expressed your love to one another through the commitment and promises you have just made. At this time, I pronounce you husband and wife."
Hank pulled Jenna into a tight hug. He could feel her fighting back tears, and he was afraid he was going to fall apart with her. "Hank," Erin said, interrupting their moment.
"Yeah?" he asked, tearing his eyes away from Jenna for just a second.
"You can kiss your wife now."
"Finally," he said as he pulled her close and kissed her deeply amid cheers from their family and friends.
"I am so honored to present Mr. and Mrs. Hank Voight."
The guests continued to cheer as Hank kissed Jenna again. When the kiss finally broke, they motioned for their family to come forward, and they were rushed by their guests, everyone excited to congratulate them.
After a few minutes, everyone was shuffled into the reception hall so the happy couple could have a few photos taken. When pictures were finished, Hank and Jenna desperately wanted just a few minutes by themselves, so they slipped away into the room where Jenna had been getting dressed.
When they were finally alone, Hank pulled Jenna close again, needing a few moments in the peace and quiet to hold his wife in his arms.
"Can you believe we're really married?" Jenna asked softly.
"I know. It doesn't seem real. I'm so happy Jenna. You've made me happier than I ever thought I would ever be," he said as he stroked her cheek.
Jenna leaned in and kissed him deeply. "I'm really happy too. I love you, husband."
"I love you, wife," he said softly, kissing her again. He finally stepped back from her so that he could look at her dress.
"Jen, if I haven't told you yet, you look absolutely incredible. This dress is stunning."
"Thank you," Jenna said, blushing as he spun her around so he could take in the whole dress. "I love it. It's been a really fun dress." She stepped closer to him and leaned close to his ear. "But I think it will be even more fun when you take it off of me later."
"I look forward to it," He said, pulling her close and kissing her.
"My kids are here," she said softly, tears coming to her eyes again.
"I saw them. I was hoping everything would work out and they would be here."
"You knew?" Jenna asked.
Hank nodded. "Erin told me she was working on it, but she wasn't sure. I'm glad they are here."
"Me too. Everything about this day has been absolutely perfect." She threw her arm around his neck and pulled him close, kissing him deeply. "I love you so much."
"I love you Jen."'
"Let's go see our guests so we can get out of here."
Hank grinned. "Good plan."
They walked hand in hand to the reception hall where their guests were waiting. Just like their wedding, they wanted to keep the reception small. The wedding took place early afternoon, so instead of a dinner, they served cupcakes and other desserts made by Jenna.
They took their time going around the room to visit with all of their guests, thanking them for being present for their day. When they made their way to Jenna's children's table, she couldn't stop her tears from falling again as she hugged them. When Hank realized she was crying, he pulled her close. She reassured him that she was crying happy tears, thrilled her girls put aside their feelings to help them celebrate their day. Hank thanked the girls for coming and let them know how much it meant to him and to Jenna. Chloe let them know that the girls planned to stay in Chicago until Tuesday, hoping to get to spend a little bit of time with their mom before leaving. They made plans for dinner as a family the following night, giving Hank and Jenna some time to be alone.
On their way out, Hank and Jenna pulled Erin aside one more time.
"Thank you again, for everything," Jenna said as she hugged her.
"Thank you for asking me. I loved getting to be a part of this, even though Hank tried to go rogue on me a couple of times," Erin said as she and Jenna laughed.
Hank shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say? It's hard to keep my hands to myself."
"Hank," Jenna said, elbowing him.
"Well, I'm glad you found each other. So, you two get out of here, and enjoy your night."
"Thanks again Sweetie," Jenna said, hugging her again.
Hank kissed the top of Erin's head. "Thanks kiddo."

Hank booked a couple of nights at a hotel for him and Jenna. They hadn't closed on their new house yet, and since they weren't taking a honeymoon, they wanted to have a couple of days away from home to enjoy their first few days as husband and wife.
As they rode the elevator up to their room, they could barely keep their hands off of each other. "This must be the world's slowest elevator," Hank said as his lips made their way down her neck.
"Patience babe," Jenna said, leaning into him.
When they made it to the room, Jenna immediately kicked off her heels as Hank slipped his jacket off. Jenna made her way to the window and leaned against it.
"This view is incredible," she said.
Hank sat on the edge of the bed. "I think my view is better," he said, his eyes taking time to really appreciate the back of Jenna's dress.
Jenna rolled her eyes as she laughed. "You're terrible."
Hank reached for her phone, pulling up a music playlist before dropping the phone onto the bedside table. He then held out his hand to Jenna. "Dance with me?" he asked.
"What?" she asked.
"It's my wedding day, and I'd really like to dance with my wife."
Jenna took his hand, and he pulled her close. "I'd really like to dance with my husband."
One of Hank's hands slipped around Jenna's waist as he took their joined hands and held them on his chest in between them, resting his cheek against her temple. Jenna closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of being in her husband's arms like this.
"This is nice," Jenna said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Sure is," Hank said, holding her tight against him as they swayed.
"Why haven't we ever danced like this? Because we really should do this more often," she said, pulling back to look at him.
Hank shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I didn't think about it. But if you want, I'd be happy to dance with you like this every day."
Jenna tightened her arm around his neck, pulling his head down until their lips met. "I'm holding you to that."
"Deal," Hank said, kissing her deeply. "I love you, and I'm going to spend the rest of my life showing you how much you mean to me."
"I love you too," Jenna whispered.
They danced for awhile longer, only stopping when Hank's hands found the zipper of Jenna's dress. He twirled the zipper, silently asking Jenna for permission. She nodded, and the zipper slowly made its descent down Jenna's back. Their dance moved to the bed, and they spent the rest of the night into the early hours of the morning celebrating the start of the rest of their lives together.

Author's Note: Sorry again for taking so long to get this out. For some reason, this chapter was just really hard!
If you're a Law & Order SVU fan, I published a one-shot a few days ago called "We Gather Here Today". It's a little bit of a different style for me, so I'd appreciate your feedback!
More Hank and Jenna coming up soon!
