Chapter 29
Kara smashed through a window 120 stories off the ground, she knew it was unlikely that she would be able to catch the sky scraper, so she opted to get the people out which was no easy task, she searched the floor quickly and continued down 4 Seconds and 37 empty floors later she caught 2 women falling as the floor collapsed beneath them, 5 floors lower 3 men had smashed through a window and were hurdling toward the ground.
Kara sped around falling debre, her hand grasped 1 man's shirt her other arm looped around another, she dropped them on the sidewalk and flew back Up to catch the 3rd he joined his friends on the sidewalk, Kara searched the rest of the building and found 2 women on the 12th floor, she placed them on the sidewalk and shielded them as the building collapsed behind her.
The civilians ran off after thanking her, Kara stood for a second catching her breath,
"Kara, everything ok?" Rachel asked,
"Yeah, any luck?" Kara watched as panicked pedestrians rushed around trying to get to safety,
"We're working on it, we need you to get people to safety"
"Ok I'm on it" Kara took off into the air.
"Donna! Donna!" Garfield climbed over a downed lamp pole, the air was thick with dust and cement,
"Over here" She called back when he found her she was climbing unsteadily to her feet,
"Are you ok?" He asked helping her get steadier,
"I'm fine, check on everyone inside, I'll check out here ok?" Garfield nodded and ran off to find a way into the fire station.
The explosion had pulled all the attention toward the center of the ship, so they got in without much trouble,
"Get to the control deck" She whispered, he nodded and took off, she moved slowly down the dark corridor, a figure stepped in front of her she took aim and fired.
