Chapter 4

Watch Upgrade and a Water Hog

AN: Hi again, I think I was pretty quick when it came to writing this and I think I did a pretty good job for my first two-parter. I hope you like it. Last time we left off with Nate, Lucas, and the Yo-kai entering the hot spring so I bet many of you know what's coming. Well, that's enough out of me.

Disclaimer: I still don't own Yo-kai Watch, If I did then we would have kept time travel with Miradox.

"Nate, that was quite a loud snort," said Whisper.

"Yah, I don't know hows these peoples didn't notice that loud sound," said Roughraff.

"Hey Lucas you thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Nate.

"Yup, it's definitely a Yo-kai." said Lucas, "You think it was the one to take the milk."

Jibanyan exclaimed, "That's not just any Yo-kai. I bet it was an extremely powerful one."

Roughraff mocked, "Haya scared, you fraidy cat."

Jibanyan said, "I'm not a fraidy cat if anything you're scared."

Roughraff said, "Am not."

Tattletell sighed and said, "Tell tell tell tell." (Both you wussies are scared.)

Whisper said, "No way, that is definitely not a Yo-kai. No Yo-kai makes noises like that or that loud, you need to stop assuming everything is a Yo-kai."

Lucas said, "Well no one else heard that so it must be a Yo-kai there is no other explanation."

Nate said, "Whisper you're usually wrong about these things I mean how could that not be a Yo-kai I bet it might have taken the milk."

Tattletell sighed again and said, "Tell tell." (That's no secret.)

Leadoni said "Let's go, I know exactly where that sound came from. I am fairly sure that Yo-kai took the milk but we need to be careful. I think it is a powerful Yo-kai." somehow saying all of that with his wicked grin.

Jibanyan said, "Oh yeah, all those weak Yo-kai were fine but nyow this will be some real fun."

Roughraff said, "Ha you don't knows the meaning of fun ya dumb cat, I'll show ya hows to have a real good time in there."

Jibanyan said, "Oh yeah."

Nate said, "Guys, guys save it for the other Yo-kai."

Lucas said, "You might need it."

Leadoni said, "Come this way guys." as he led the way to the boy's side of the hot spring.

Nate said, "In there really."

Whisper said, "Everyone likes taking a good soak, even criminal Yo-kai."

Lucas said, "I guess that's true."

Nate said, "Oh, Tattletell you can just stay out here if you need."

Tattletell said, "Tell tell tell." (It's fine I've always wanted to see how the other side lives.)

Whisper said, "Um… well she said she's fine to come, she doesn't mind."

Nate said, "Um okay." making an unsure face. Nate, Lucas, and their Yo-kai friends then entered the hot spring pools. The air was filled with steam and it was burning hot. There was so much steam Lucas had to wipe his glasses. They immediately saw a giant pig Yo-kai in one of the pools of water relaxing.

All of them yelped out "Woah!" except Tattletell who shouted, "Tell Tell." (That's a big pig.)

The giant pig Yo-kai noticed and said, "Hey there you wanna jump in with me you're welcome to join."

Jibanyan hesitated, "Um, I don't know about this."

Roughraff ran in and said, "Ha, ha this is gonna be great." Roughraff jumped into the water. "AHHHHH!" Roughraff quickly jumped out, his green skin burned red. Jibanyan laughed.

The pig Yo-kai laughed, "Haha I guess you couldn't take the heat. I like it real hot." Lucas dipped his toe, he and Nate didn't take their clothes off but they did take their shoes and socks off, into the water and said, "owch! That burns."

Roughraff yelled, "I coulda told ya that!"

Nate asked, "Hey, whisper who's this Yo-kai?"

Whisper was already on his Yo-kai pad and responded "Oh this, this is Yo-kai is Sproink, he is a Yo-kai that just loves to take hot baths all the time but he likes it so hot you could boil in it anyone who can take more heat than him gains his eternal respect. When he is in a place with hot water he is extremely powerful."

Nate said, "Okay, hey Sproink!"

Sproink looked his way and said "Huh."

Nate asked, "Hey, did you take all the amazing milk."

Sproink said "Why yeah, I mean everyone likes milk after a long soak and since I am the king of the hot spring I deserve only the best of milk." and he showed them his bucket of amazing milk.

Lucas asked, "Can we please have some."

Sproink said, "No, only I can have it. why? you got a problem with that?"

Nate said, "Well a little you see we need some of that milk to get my watch upgraded."

Sproink said, "Well you're not gonna get any."

Roughraff said, "Why you, I'm gonna beat yous to a pulp." Roughraff then jumped to punch Sproink but the giant pig grabbed one of his buckets and first blocked the punch Roughraff threw and then with his free hand Sproink grabbed another bucket and smacked Roughraff away. Sproink then rose out of the water dripping all over. Roughraff fell to the floor near Jibanyan who helped him up.

Sproink said, "So it's a fight you want aye, well then it's a fight you'll get." Sproink then jumped in the air and landed on the ground sending a shock wave throughout all of Blossom heights and a bit of uptown. Jibanyan and Roughraff who were prepared to fight were sent flying backward landing near Lucas and Nate who were trying to stand up to the shock.

Nate said, "I guess we're fighting then."

Lucas said, "Well not how we hoped it would turn out but I guess we have no choice."

Whisper said, "Nate this is a boss level Yo-kai you are going to need to summon more Yo-kai than this."

Lucas advised, "Summon someone good with water, Sproink is a fire attribute so he'll be weaker to water attacks."

Nate said, "Water huh, I know just who to call, come on out my Yo-kai friend, calling Walkappa, Yo-kai medal do your thing."

Alarming!

Boom, Boom

Walla, Walla

Dance, Dance

Charming!

Walkappa.

Walkappa said, "What's up Nate, oooh Hot Springs." Walkappa then jumped into the water but got burned, "Ayehhhhhh! Ouch, that hurt you must be dealing with Sproink."

Nate asked, "You know him?"

Walkappa said "Yeah this guy destroyed my home once."

Lucas said, "That's awful."

Walkappa said "Yeah, back then I wasn't able to fight this dude but I have gotten so much stronger than I know with you and Nate's help we can take this guy down."

Whisper said, "That's the spirit."

Nate said, "Yeah, good luck out there."

Lucas said, "You'll do great." Walkappa gave a thumbs-up as he joined his four other teammates. Tattletell was in the back with Walkappa and Leadoni in front of her and behind Jibanyan and Roughraff, who were getting ready to brawl.

Lucas said, "Good job Nate this seems like a pretty good team."

Whisper said, "Nate summon one more Yo-kai."

Nate said, "Okay. come on out my Yo-kai friend, calling Robonyan. Yo-kai medal do your thi—" Nate was cut off by one of Sproink attacks; he tossed his bucket at Jibanyan and then slid some soap to slip Roughraff. Luckily Walkappa was able to create a torrent of water to lift Leadoni to slap Sproink right in the head but during all the commotion Nate accidentally dropped three of his medals. He dropped Robonyan's; the one he was about to summon, Komasan's, and worst of all he dropped Shogunyan's.

Nate fretted, "Oh no, oh no, no, no!"

Lucas asked, "Nate what's wrong?"

Whisper said, "I thought you were summoning another Yo-kai."

Nate said, still panicked, "I dropped the medals."

Lucas and Whisper shouted in surprised unison, "What?!"

Nate said, "Yeah during all the fighting I dropped them and now I can't find them."

Whisper said, "I'll get right on that but for now you should stop summoning Yo-kai we can't have you losing all your medals."

Lucas reassured Nate by saying, "Yeah we should just watch the fight and cheer them on, Whisper can find the medals. Tattletell is doing pretty good out there all by herself but she may need help healing soon."

Nate said, "Right, good luck Whisper." Whisper was already off looking for the lost medals. Sproink was putting up a good fight; most of their attacks were either blocked or didn't do much except Walkappa's which made Sproink feel a lot of discomfort. Sproink on the other hand was dominating Nate's Yo-kai friends smacking Jibanyan and Roughraff with his buckets and hitting Leadoni and Walkappa with soap bars or dealing damage to all of them with a jump. Jibanyan and Roughraff were taking the worst of it, getting hit by all the attacks.

Lucas suggested, "Nate have Roughraff use his soultimate and then use Jibanyan's."

Nate nodded and said, "Roughraff use your soultimate move!"

Roughraff said, "Heck yes, I've been wanting to do that for a while now 'bout time. Time to blow the roof off this place baby," Roughraff became surrounded by an orange aura and then said, "Stare Down!" Roughraff sent an intimidating glare that sent shivers down Sproink's spine he looked with fear.

Nate said, "Now Jibanyan use paws of fury."

Jibanyan said "Alright, here we go, Paws of Fury!" Jibanyan rushed over to the weakened Sproink and let out a barrage of punches.

Sproink said, "Ooof, wow that was a tough attack almost tickled." Sproink then hit then jumped to send a shock wave again decimating the team.

Lucas said "uh oh."

Nate said, "Jibanyan, Roughraff, here!" Nate tossed Jibanyan a choco bar and Roughraff a giant cracker.

Jibanyan said, "Thanks Nyate."

Roughraff said, "Okay… I guess."

Lucas said, "We can't keep this up forever, all the Yo-kai are already tiring out."

Nate said, "I think Sproink is too." Nate pointed to Sproink who started panting but he looked in better shape than Nate's team of Yo-kai. "But that combo of yours just gave me an idea. Nice job by the way."

Lucas said, "thanks."

Nate said, "come on out my Yo-kai friend, calling Dimmy, Yo-kai medal do your thing." Nate inserted the Yo-kai medal into his watch and out came a swirling stream of dark blue light.

Marvelous thee

Gusty, free banshee

Sing, song Shady!

Dimmy...

Dimmy just stood there silently waiting for Nate or Lucas to say something.

Nate asked, "Um… hey, Dimmy can you umm… sneak around to grab those milks over there?"

Dimmy said in a whisper, "Sure, I can do that." Dimmy then seemed to fade into the shadows and went over to silently take the milk bottles.

Nate said, "Now Leadoni use your Soultimate move."

Leadoni said, "Sure hehe," Leadoni became surrounded in a dark blue aura and said, "C'mon, This Way!" Leadoni then beckoned Sproink and mocked him with a few laughs and at the same time, Sproink became surrounded by a purple aura that compelled him to look at Leadoni. Leadoni then prepared to take a beating going into a defensive stance.

Sproink said, "Humph." as he tossed his buckets to Leadoni completely ignoring the fact that Jibanyan and Roughraff were punching Sproink, as well as getting drenched by Walkappa or that Tattletell was using this time to heal each one but most importantly the fact that Dimmy snuck all the milk away from him.

Lucas said, "Wow that was genius using Dimmy, a Yo-kai who is never noticed to get the milk while Leadoni uses a move that forces the target to focus on it."

Nate said sheepishly, "Um… well actually I didn't know that's what Leadoni's move did."

Dimmy then came and said, "Here you go." still in a whisper.

Nate took the milk and said, "Thanks Dimmy you did good." But just then Sproink jumped and caused another shockwave knocking Leadoni unconscious causing the inspirit to stop. Sproink looked around and saw Nate and Lucas with the milk.

Sproink shouted, "Urrrh, you stole my milk! *snort* Behind my back! *snort* Sproink doesn't like it when someone steals from him. Oh that just makes my blood boil! *snort* Now I'm gonna boil you!' *snort* as Sproink shouted his rage he became a darker and darker shade of red, "*snort* Squealing Boil!" *snort* Sproink then blew twin streams of fire from his nose.

Nate said, "Walkappa counter with mega waterfall."

Walkappa said, "you got it, Mega Waterfall!" Walkappa summoned a massive torrent of water that clashed with the flames. The two attacks canceled each other out leaving only a steamy room but Sproink jumped and sent another shockwave. Walkappa, Jibanyan, and Roughraff were all down leaving only Dimmy and Tattletell, the latter heavily weakened.

Lucas said, "Oh no that's really bad."

Tattletell said, "tell." (You can say that again.)

Nate said, "This is really bad. Sproink is gonna kill us."

Lucas said, "Nate tell Tattletell to use her Soultimate." but right as Lucas said that Sproink finished Tattletell off with a bar of soap, approaching Nate and Lucas with a look of rage.

Nate said, "Oh no Tattletell."

Jibanyan and Roughraff woke up but were unable to move, they looked at each other then Sproink and then Nate and Lucas with only Dimmy standing in the way of massive Yo-kai.

Jibanyan looked at Roughraff and said, "I knyow you and I have had our fair share of differences but you and I both knyow that we are stronger together than alone. At least I think you have the brains to know that."

Roughraff said, "Yeah I know that I'm not all hair. Bold of you to assume I have brains though but yeah and we need to take down that big sucker over there."

Jibanyan said, "Yeah but nyeither of us can move."

Roughraff said, "Like you said not alone but together... "

Jibanyan said, "I don't like what you're implying but fine for Nyate. Uh, he really owes me for this one."

Dimmy fell, defeated by Sproink's bucket toss, and Sproink didn't even get hit because he blocked every attack Dimmy tried. Nate and Lucas were terrified.

Sproink finally got to them and said, "Haha it looks like you guys are done."

"Not so fast!" declared a purple cat yo-kai with a blue jacket and shades, green tail flames and to complete the look a pompadour. Lucas, Nate, and Sproink all looked at the purple shade-wearing cat with visible confusion.

Nate started, "Wait is that… oh no…"

Lucas just said, "What?"

Sproink moved away from the humans to take a good look at his new opponent, Sproink asked, "Who are you?"

"The name's baddinyan. Rebel cat Yo-kai extraordinaire. I'm here to kick your sorry butt." said Baddinyan.

Lucas said in confusion, "Baddinyan?"

Baddinyan said, "That's the name, don't wear it out. Now watch out I'm about to wipe the floor with this guy." Baddinyan then jumped in the air and hit Sproink clean in the face with a Pompadour powered headbutt.

Sproink moved back in pain and said, "you'll pay for that." Sproink then threw both his buckets. *Crack* Baddinyan broke both the buckets with his hair.

Lucas asked, "Woah that was strong, Nate I don't recall summoning that Yo-kai, and I didn't see you summon any other Yo-kai so who is that?"

Nate said with a sigh, "Um… well, that's … um well, it's sort of complicated."

"Nate I found all three of your missing Yo-kai medals." said Whisper and he handed Nate all his medals, "You should really be more careful with them."

Nate said, "I will."

Whisper said, "Oh and to answer your question Lucas Baddinyan is a Yo-kai fusion made from Jibanyan and Roughraff."

Lucas asked, "Wait if Baddinyan is a fusion then how did they do it so quick?"

Whisper said, "Well that is because Baddinyan can be formed by fusion or by Jibanyan being heavily influenced or inspirited by roughraff. The two together make for quite the amazing team. With their combined attack power they are near physically unrivaled for the rank and tribe. Not to mention enhanced defense and speed."

Lucas said, "Wow Baddinyan is quite the interesting Yo-kai."

Whisper asked, "Hey Nate aren't you going to summon any other Yo-kai?"

Nate said, "No, I think Baddinyan has this in the bag."

Whisper said, "I guess Sproink is pretty tired and Baddinyan is basically as fresh as newly summoned Yo-kai."

Sproink tried to hit Baddinyan with his bars of soap but failed to hit the rebel cat. Baddinyan jumped around dodging every single bar. Baddinyan then low swept Sproink causing the pig Yo-kai to fall flat on his face. Baddinyan then punched Sproink in the face. Sproink tried to get up but Baddinyan punched him down again and this repeated again and again until Sproink got so angry he used his Soultimate move again. Sproink yelled "Squealing Boil!" shooting another burst of flames from his nose. The flames went flying everywhere luckily Nate and Lucas took cover the same couldn't be said for Baddinyan. When the flames ended though Baddinyan looked unharmed.

Sproink panted and said, "How did you survive my flames? It should have been impossible. You should be boiled."

Baddinyan smirked, "Haha ya know a magician doesn't reveal his secrets, nyow for my nyext trick I'll beat down a pig. Nyice ta Beatcha!" Baddinyan pulsed a dark aura that dealt damage to Sproink and it made him dizzy.

Sproink asked dazed, "I'm confused what did you do?"

Baddinyan said, "Now I'll finish the job." Baddinyan jumped and headbutted Sproink right in the head. Sproink fell to the ground knocked out. Sproink then disappeared in a cloud of purple smoke.

Nate said, "Good job Baddinyan you beat Sproink."

Lucas said, "Good job you two, you really saved the day."

Baddinyan did finger guns and said "Thanks it was nyothing." Baddinyan then split back into Roughraff and Jibanyan but both fell to the floor too tired to move.

Whisper said, "Well it certainly seemed like something they could barely hold their fused state they really did good."

Nate said, "Will you help me lift these two into the hot springs, I bet they could use it, I'll take Jibanyan and you take Roughraff."

Lucas said, "Sure I bet a nice good soak will do them some good." The two boys took the two Yo-kai to the spring water and like magic, they both revived.

Jibanyan said, "Awwwe this feels so much better."

Roughraff said, "With that big pig out of the way it feels perfect."

Whisper said, "Too bad I can't feel it."

Nate said, "Hey will you help me bring the other four over here too."

Lucas said, "Sure." The two boys took the other four Yo-kai to the spring and like Jibanyan and Roughraff they instantly came to.

Lucas said, "I bet all Yo-kai love the hot springs."

Whisper said, "We sure do, well all of who can that is."

Nate exclaimed, "Hey that gives me an idea. Lucas, will you help me summon all my Yo-kai friends."

Lucas said, "Sure Nate, but wait you carry all your Yo-kai medals on you."

Nate said, "Yeah, I guess so but then again I don't have the most Yo-kai friends. Here you take half and I'll take half." Nate pulled from his pocket many coins he got from Yo-kai he met and became friends with and with Lucas' help they summoned all of them by the time they were done the place was filled with Yo-kai.

Whisper said, "This is a lot of Yo-kai, I am impressed with you boys."

Nate said, "Well they are my friends they deserve some fun too."

Lucas said, "Nate, look at the time we better get to Timers and More quick."

Nate said, "Oh my gosh, we gotta run."

Whisper said, "Nate your parents are going to be furious they're probably worried sick about you."

All the Yo-kai behind them shouted in unison, "Thanks, Nate." Nate and Lucas with Whisper following behind ran to Timers and More as quickly as they could.

Nate said, "We're here. Here you go." Nate quickly handed the old man his watch and all the things they got that day minus the stuff from the little girl.

Mr. Goodsight said, "Oh my you got these quicker than I expected, you whippersnappers aren't half bad. I'll upgrade this old thing right up."

Lucas and Nate said, "Thank you Mr. Goodsight." It took him a few minutes but he quickly upgraded the watch.

"Shift this here, nudge that a little, tug this, reinstall that, now all I have to do is press this. All done here you go, Nate, your watch is now upgraded to select a preset team just insert the lead Yo-kai for the team and hold down the button, to shoot the pin just double press the button and…" Mr. Goodsight explained for a while about all the useful functions of the watch and Whisper copied them down.

Whisper said, "Tonight I will work on syncing you watch to my Yo-kai pad, Nate."

Nate said, "Okay but we gotta get going, thanks Mr. Goodsight."

Lucas said, "Bye Mr. Goodsight, have a good night." Nate, Lucas, and Whisper darted out of the store but it was already late at night. Nate was extremely worried but it looked like Lucas and Whisper were sharing an, even more, frightened expression.
