Chapter 5

The first of many nightmares/life before the curse of the watch

AN: First off, I know it is a long title for a chapter but there is a reason for that and I could have made it better but I just felt it was fitting for both parts of this chapter. I don't really want to spoil anything for you but there is a pattern in my writing so far if you just pay a little closer attention. Anyway, that's enough out of me. Hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I still don't own Yo-kai watch, if I did then we would see more of Nate's Grandfather and Hovernyan.

Nate, Whisper, and Lucas were running at first it was because he was in a lot of trouble with his parents but now it was because a Giant red Oni was chasing them. Nate, Lucas, and Whisper were just running from Timers and More where they got Nate's Yo-kai watch upgraded at the price of it getting extremely late. Nate was rushing to get home but then it happened. The sky darkened and a dense fog covered the area. Lucas and Whisper seemed terrified but Nate was just confused.

Nate asked, "Um guys what's going on?"

Lucas replied, "I hope it's not what I think it is."

Nate asked, "What do you think it is?'

Whisper said, "If it's what I'm thinking about then you don't want to know." Just then there was a loud thud as a giant red one-horned monster with a metal club fell from the sky. The creature let out a horrific roar and it summoned many smaller minions that were just eyes.

Nate asked, "What's going on?" starting to get freaked out.

Lucas and Whisper said, "Just run." Nate didn't hesitate and just started running.

Nate asked, "Where should we run to?"

Lucas answered, "I have no idea."

Whisper said, "Me neither I have never been here with a human before. Just keep running or Gargaros is going to find and catch us."

Lucas said, "Not to mention beat us to a pulp." Now Nate, Lucas, and Whisper were spotted and it was just them and the giant Oni. Gargaros was running faster than all of them and gaining up quickly.

Nate stopped at the school reading his Yo-kai watch. Nate said, "I'm not running anymore this is pointless. I'm gonna call for help." but he was stopped by Lucas who said, "It's hopeless you have strong Yo-kai Nate but Gargaros is too strong. Only Gilgaros could stand up to him."

Whisper said, "Guys he's here!" and that was true Gargaros was right behind them preparing to crush both Lucas and Nate with his club but just then there was a bright blue light and out came a barrage of a thousand snakes made of aura it didn't stop Gargaros but it did repel the Oni.

Then a figure appeared wearing the attacking snakes as a scarf he said, "Go here I have made this door for you. Nate, I have been watching you. You have a destiny greater than you can imagine now go through this door I can't hold back this monstrosity forever. Oh and the both of you, trust in all your friends."

Whisper opened the door quickly and said, "Come on you two this is our only chance let's go." Whisper was the first to go through followed by Lucas and then Nate said, "Thank you." and went through the yellow door before it closed leaving the grayed world behind.

When Nate got out he asked, "What the heck was that?"

Whisper replied, "Terror Time a nightmare realm made to punish bad children or children that disobey their parents. It is home to all members of the Oni tribe."

Nate then asked, "Who was that Yo-kai that helped us back there?"

Whisper was left stunned but Lucas replied, "That was the elite Yo-kai Venoct. He is a powerful Rank-S Yo-kai probably equal in strength to Gargaros when at full strength but also known as the guard of kings and knights."

Nate said, "wow that powerful that's crazy and he just decided to help us."

Lucas said, "Yeah it really is."

Whisper said, "Too bad Venoct can't save you from your parents."

Nate said, "Oh you're right, come on let's go."

Nate, Lucas, and Whisper made it to the Adams' house the lights were on and the three of them could hear yelling from inside. Nate cracked open the door and with Lucas and Whisper, he walked through the door. Nate was immediately surrounded by his parents.

Nate's mother raged, "Nate, there you are, do you have any idea how worried we are?"

Nate's father scolded, "Nate, you are in big trouble young man, you had me and your mother worried."

Nate's mother demanded, "What the heck were you doing out so late!? I told you not to be out after dark."

Nate's father raged, "No video games for a week."

Nate looked at his parents with a sad look but said, "I'm so sorry Mom and Dad, there is no excuse for what I did, I am sorry I had you worried. I said I would be home early but I was super late, it's not Lucas' fault please, believe me, we just lost track of time. We were just in Blossom heights today running around town. I am fine with any punishment you give me I just don't want you to punish Lucas. He is a really good friend and not a bad kid." Nate did want to cry, he could feel some tears start to form but he wouldn't let any of them fall at least not in front of any of his friends he wouldn't even do it in front of Jibanyan.

Both Nate's parents looked at the black-haired boy with glasses who was watching awkwardly at the family dispute from a small distance in their house's doorway. Both Parent's anger faded, they were still mad at Nate but they were more relived Nate was home.

Nate's dad said, "Nate we'll talk more about your punishment tomorrow but for now just go to bed it's late, we're all pretty tired."

Lucas asked, "Umm, Mr. and Mrs. Adams I am sorry to intrude but um, can I stay with you for the night it's dark and although my mother is furious with me she doesn't want me to you know walk in the night."

Nate begged, "Please, mom, dad."

Lily Adams said, "Okay fine, we would like to talk with you and your mother too in the morning Lucas. Nate, you better enjoy your friend's stay because this is the last friend you'll have over for a week."

Aaron Adams said, "Now you both should get to bed Lucas, You can sleep in Nate's room and I'll get you the spare mattress."

Nate said, "Thanks, Mom. Thanks, Dad."

Lucas said, "Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Adams."

Lily Adams said, "You're welcome now go to bed you two." Nate then showed Lucas around the house real quick before going to bed. Whisper chuckled as he watched the two boys and reminisced about the day's events.

The next day, Nate woke up late, it was already eleven in the morning. He noticed Jibanyan was asleep on the carpet in Nate's room.

Whisper said, "Oh so you're finally up Nate, Lucas left by the way. He had a little chat with you're parents I think it went well."

Nate was still half asleep but said, "Okay thanks Whisper. I better get downstairs to talk with my parents." Nate walked downstairs with his pajamas still on. He walked into the living room where is Mom and Dad were waiting for him. Nate's dad gestured him to sit down. Whisper phased downstairs to eavesdrop on Nate and his parents.

Nate's mom said, "Nate you already know you are in serious trouble but me and your dad have already decided on your punishment. We already talked to Lucas and we called his mother."

Nate's dad said, "Nate, Lucas seems like a nice kid. He explained to us what he and you were doing last night and his Mom said it was unlike him to be out that late at night, and that she didn't think he had any other friends than Lina and Zoey, those two girls in your class. She said that Lucas was usually a shy kid."

Nate's mom said, "Nate Lucas said that you were getting your watch fixed after you broke it helping a family. We almost didn't believe him but then we got a call from Mr. Goodsight the man who made the engagement ring your father gave me."

Nate's dad said, "He was an old friend of your grandfather and the point is that we think Lucas is a good kid so we are going to let you hang out with him." Nate nodded but he and whisper were silently cheering.

Nate's mom said, "But you are not seeing any of your friends for a week and you can't play video games for two. You are grounded and we want you home right after school."

Nate said, "Okay."

Nate's mom said, "Now I'll get you some breakfast."

Hailey Anna Pov

Hi there I'm Hailey Anne Thomas, I am just an average fifth-grader going to Springdale elementary. I not that average though I mean there isn't anything that makes me super extraordinary like being able to talk to spirits, being friends with aliens, being a super cool or athletic or extremely smart kid but I'm not so average in a way that makes it to where I have nothing special about myself. I am that one kid who is really into anime, manga, fanart, and fanfiction, merchandise, cosplaying, and etc. I really like the idea of space and I know there are alien out there. I am in class 5-1 and I can't wait to get out of School. I mean the class itself is fine nothing too interesting, I usually spend half the class staring off into space but I do end up getting good enough grades. Most days after school I hang out with my best friend Jessica Stonewood, she's been my closest friend ever since we met. She is a bit smarter and level headed than I am that's why we're best friends we are opposites. You know the saying opposites attract. We usually take turns picking what we want to do and today was her day. I have no idea what she wants to do but I think it will be great. I guess that's why I started to think to myself like right now. Wow, if only more of the fanfics or animes I read and watched would dive into the main character's head like this. I mean not that I am in an anime or anything because if I was then I would totally be breaking the fourth wall right now. Plus my life isn't exciting enough, it's not like I have superpowers, live in a different world, or wield some sort of magic or anything and there is not enough drama in my life to actually be good. My life would be pretty cool if I was in an anime other than the fact I would probably be comic relief or part of a running gag. If anyone was the main character in an anime with me in it, it would probably be between Isabel, Lily, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Logan, or Maya Skylar, Daniel, or Andy, I mean those guys all seem the most suitable I have run it through my head several times the only other person that comes to mind is the one Katie girl.

"So Ms. Thomas what was your thought on the story we just read and why?" asked Mr. Smith my teacher.

"Um… I...uh" I studded. I do stare off into space a lot and it can get me in trouble a lot.

"Just as I thought you weren't paying any attention if you were you would have known we were doing science right now," said Mr. Smith, "you need to stop doing that if you ever want to pass my class."

"I've been trying hard sir, I'll try harder," I said. If only I had someone who could help me stay focused like an invisible partner or pet or alien…

Back at the Springdale hot springs

"AHHHH," said the giant pig Yo-kai Sproink. Sproink returned a few days after his recent defeat to that kid, most Yo-kai could be healed instantly by the magic medicine of there kind but that didn't always mean they were okay. Some could be emotionally wounded, could have lost their true power temporarily, or if defeated by a human with a Yo-kai watch banished back to the Yo-kai world and banned from the human one for a little but that was rare. Sproink was a little bit of all three but a nice hot dip in the hot spring cured him. He wasn't going to let some humans ruin him, besides he could still just take a few bottles of milk and he wouldn't get so greedy this time.

"Hello there Sproink, I heard you were a powerful Yo-kai a Yo-kai that I could use." said a voice.

Sproink demanded, "Who's there?" but Sproink didn't see anyone all he saw was a mirror one that wasn't usually in the hot springs.

"Too bad for you, you won't get to find out." said the voice before letting out a wicked cackle.

"Ahhhhhh," screamed Sproink as the giant pig Yo-kai disappeared leaving only a bucket and a bar of soap.

AN: I hope you liked this one I know it's really short but I didn't want to get too deep into the next part yet. It was like choosing between making another chapter or making one long one. I decided on two chapters so they wouldn't get in the way of each other. Seriously though guys I need some more ideas on quests and more Yo-kai suggestions. I don't want the main plot to go that fast. I hope you guys like what I did with Hailey Anna/Inaho, I had her listed as a main character but she won't just instantly get the Yo-kai watch besides I want to show her life before the watch compared to Nate's in which he has the watch.
