Chapter 6

Never have Yo-kai for Lunch

AN: Sorry for such the long wait I had quite a bit going on and I wanted to experiment with a few one shots and I am still working on a few other projects plus this one chapter was a little harder to make but I hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I still don't own Yo-Kai watch, if I did the animes would be on Netflix.

It was a normal day for Nate other than the fact that he was grounded, he did tell his friends since Bear and Eddie were both confused on why Nate didn't play with them on the weekend

"Really Nate you got yourself grounded?!" asked Eddie.

"Wow, what did you do?" asked Bear.

"Um, well I stayed out too late," explained Nate.

"Really, well what the heck were you doing?" asked Eddie.

"I was hanging out with Lucas and we just lost track of time," said Nate.

"I told you, Eddie," said Bear.

"Yeah, I guess you were right," said Eddie.

"Right about what?" asked Nate.

"Oh well I saw you and Lucas running around Blossom heights and well I told Eddie that you became friends with the ghost club," said Bear.

"What?" asked Nate still confused.

"You know Nate; Lina, Zoey, and Lucas those three are all about ghost stuff. Always checking things out to find some ghosts or some other paranormal thing," said Eddie.

"I guess but they all seem really nice," said Nate.

"Try creepy," said Bear.

"Yeah they give off some sort of creepy vibe Nate," said Eddie, "But hey Nate if you wanna be friends with them then that's fine by me."

"Just don't get too creepy okay," said Bear.

"Sure but Lucas isn't that creepy just a bit…" started Nate.

"Weird," suggested Bear.

"Strange," suggested Eddie.

"No, I was going to say mysterious," said Nate.

"Hmm yeah I guess that suits him better," said Eddie.

"Still can't believe your grounded," said Bear.

"Yeah, a bit odd almost like you were possessed or something," said Eddie.

"No who's the one believing in all that paranormal stuff," said Nate with a laugh.

"Haha yeah he's right Eddie." laughed Bear.

"Woah it's not like I believe in it. It was just a thought, that's all," said Eddie.

That was the first day.

Nate still hung out with Lucas too but he also spent a little bit more time with his other friends too and for a little bit of the week there were no Yo-kai to bother him until just one strange lunch. The lunch seemed normal. Nate was just sitting with his friends as usual and he invited Lucas over this time. Eddie and Bear were getting to know Lucas and Lucas was happy to become friends with Eddie and Bear. While the three boys were talking Whisper said, "Hmm Nate so your life has been pretty Yo-kai free lately. That's a bit odd."

Nate said, "Yeah but I don't want to question it, Maybe taking down Sproink made other Yo-kai scared of me or maybe I befriended all the Yo-kai who cause problems.

Whisper said, "There is no way you befriended all the Yo-kai and besides even Yo-kai you befriend still like to cause some trouble."

Nate said, "Let's just drop it. I would like it to stay peaceful."

Whisper said, "Fine but don't come crying to me when one of your friends gets inspirited." Just then some boy dropped their tray on another kid from Nate's class. The kid who dropped the tray had blond messy hair that coved one eye and he was wearing a white shirt with purple sleeves while the kid who the food spilled on was a boy with a purple hoody and a yellow cap.

The capped boy from Nate's class growled and said, "What was that for."

The other boy said, "Oh sorry man it was an accident."

The capped boy said, "Well don't let it happen again, you clutz."

The other boy said, "Who are you calling a clutz."

The capped boy said, "Obviously you."

The other boy said, "Why you." then a teacher tried to come over to calm things down but the teacher slipped on a banana peel left on the ground and was knocked unconscious. Eddie, Lucas, and Bear all noticed as well as everyone else. Some kids ran over to the teacher but other kids ran over to see the fight that was starting up. Both boys seemed to radiate a raging red aura as they faced each other. The two boys started to throw punches at each other.

Bear said, "Oh I think someone should put a stop to this." he then ran over to try to help but just like the teacher and other students how tried to help he slipped on a banana peel."

Eddie said, "No Bear." Eddie then rushed to his friend to see if he was okay he was followed by Nate and Katie as well as her friend Sarah and Lucas.

Lucas whispered, "Nate I bet this is the work of some Yo-kai." Lucas was sure no one but Nate could hear him.

Whisper said, "Why no way it's a Yo-kai its been way to calm."

Nate said, "You were the one who said, it was too calm. Dang, it Whisper you jinxed it." in a quiet rage

Whisper said, "How is this my fault!"

Nate said, "Well if you just kept your mouth shut…" but Lucas interrupted him.

Lucas said, "That's not important right now you need to find all the Yo-kai."

Nate said, "Right you can cover for me." Lucas nodded. Nate then scanned around the entire cafeteria where he found several Yo-kai six in total. There were two bread Yo-kai both with Boxing gloves on but one looked all beat up while the other looked confident. Then there was another Yo-kai wobbling around spilling rice everywhere. There was also a Yo-kai Nate recognized named Mochismo who was with the two boxing bread Yo-kai who were closest to fight. There was also a Yo-kai that looked like Babblong but with a few brown dots on his nose who was placing banana peels everywhere. Finally standing on one of the tables was a pure white Yo-kai that looked like Hungramps but in yellow clothes. "Who are those Yo-kai?"

Whisper replied looking through his Yo-kai pad, "Um well… the two Yo-kai over there made of bread are Buttered Blue and Punching Baguette, the Yo-kai spilling the rice is cereal spiller, the yellow one that looks like Babblong is Bananose, and this white Yo-kai who looks like Hungramps is Grainpa. And you already know Mochismo. Those three Yo-kai are all, powerful fighting Yo-kai that are probably the ones that are causing those two to want to fight so much but the reason they want to fight in the first place is that Yo-kai over their Cereal Spiller who must have been the reason that kid spilled his lunch. And I bet Bananose was the one who put those banana peals everywhere. I don't know why Grainpa is here he is known as a peaceful Yo-kai who wants to end world hunger by giving himself to the world since he is made of rice."

Grainpa relied, "well you see I am the master of all grain-based Yo-kai but I must also make sure my people are happy you see Buttered blue keeps getting beat up by other Yo-kai and he wants to become a better fighter instead of relying on Mochismo and Punching Baguette so to train him without him getting to hurt we are helping him inspirit to get stronger."

Nate asked, "What? How does that even work and why is Bananose here?"

Whisper said, "Well Nate Yo-kai can get stronger in battle in many different ways."

Nate said, "Okay then why don't you inspirit some else."

Grainpa said, "These kids are the ones who would be the least affected by our inspirits you see any adult would get too angry."

Nate said, "Really, well if you want a fight you got one, here we go." Nate readied his watch that lit up with a white sparkle and with his other hand, he pressed the button on his watch, "Alright calling all my Yo-kai friends. Yo-kai medals do your thing." The watch then formed a blue ring symbol with six slots. In the slots appeared six medals. The watch's hands then spun and they pointed to Jibanyan's medal.

Summoning Charming!
Alarming!

Boom Boom!

Walla, Walla!

Dance, Dance!

Charming!

Jibanyan! And Friends.

Jibanyan appeared alongside Blazion, Walkappa, Robonyan, Komasan, and Komajiro.

Jibanyan said, "Hey Nyate what's up."

Nate said, "Woah that was so cool how I summoned all of you."

Komasan said, "Oh my swirls well I'll be what are we all doing here."

Komajiro said, "I think Nate just summoned us all at the same time bro bro."

Komasan said, "I guess you're right."

Walkappa said, "Cool man I guess that's the power of an upgraded watch."

Whisper said, "Well done Nate very good job summoning all of them."

Blazion said, "Rah rah rah." eyes filled with fire looking at all the grain Yo-kai plus Bananose.

Grainpa said, "Well if you youngins wanna fight, I guess we have no choice, all ya boys get over here we have a challenger." All the Yo-kai looked at Nate and his Yo-kai friend and then rushed to Grainpa's side.

Punching baguette said, "I guess we have a new opponent in the ring let's go."

Mochismo said, "Yeah let's do this." with a double fist pump.

Buttered Blue said, "Well this is gonna be a long match."

Punching baguette said, "No one said the road to victory would be an easy one."

Cereal Spiller said, "I hope we don't mess this up."

Bananose said, "Or make any slip-ups."

Grainpa said, "Let's go all my grainy friends."

Whisper asked, "Hey Nate do you still have those old items that little girl gave you?"

Nate said, "Yeah, why?"

Whisper said, "Well those are old yo-kai equipment items I know it might be a little late for this but you should give them to the Yo-kai on our side."

Nate said, "Okay." First Nate grabbed the ring and said, "Hey Walkappa take this."

Walkappa caught the ring and said, "Huh, oh nice cool."

Nate then said, "Hey Jibanyan here." and Nate threw the charm.

Jibanyan caught it and said, "Thanks, Nate."

Nate said, "Here Komasan, Komajiro." Nate then tossed the brace and the badge. Komasan caught the badge and Komajiro caught the brace.

They both said, "Thanks, Nate."

Punching Baguette said, "equipment items, that's not fair."

Mochismo said, "Oh that makes me so mad. Let's go get them." Punching Baguette and Mochismo lead the charge with Buttered Blue following close behind as well as Bananose coming in the rear. Both Cereal Spiller and Grainpa stayed behind. On Nate's side, Robonyan, Blazion, and Jibanyan all charged forward with Komasan, Komajiro, and Walkappa fought from afar with the power of the elements. Pretty quickly with the combined forces of Jibanyan, Robonyan, and Blazion's physical punches and kicks and Komasan, Komajiro, and Walkappa's respective fire, lightning, and water attacks they knocked out Buttered Blue, Punching Baguette, Mochismo, and Bananose with little to no harm done but then Cereal Spiller and Grainpa quickly healed their entire team as if they hadn't battled at all.

Nate said, "Oh no Grainpa and Cereal Spiller just healed every one."

Robonyan said, "Do not fear for I will take them down." Robonyan then jetpacked to the two healing Yo-kai and prepared to rocket fist them but then Cereal Spiller spun and rice flew everywhere. "Oh no, Rice is in my circuitry. I am about to malfunction. I repeat Robonyan is SHutIng dOWn." Robonyan crashed to the floor powered down.

Whisper said, "Oh no we just lost our best fighter. Robonyan is down."

Jibanyan said, "Don't worry I'll take down those two healers." Jibanyan then ran to attack the two rice Yo-kai but was intercepted by a slap in the face by Bananose.

Bananose said, "You aren't going anywhere."

Komajiro said, "I'll try to zap them with my lightning." Komajiro summoned a storm cloud and prepared to zap the to grain Yo-kai but that attack was blocked by Buttered Blue.

Buttered Blue said, "Don't worry I'll protect you guys."

Nate said, "Urh they'll just keep protecting their healing Yo-kai."

Punching Baguette said, "That's not all we'll do. Dempsey Rolls."

Nate called out, "Jibanyan."

Jibanyan said, "You got it, Nate. Paws of Fury." the two Yo-kai faced each other and delivered a barrage of punches each matching hit for hit until…

Grainpa said, "Mochismo." Mochismo nodded and inspirited Punching Baguette.

Punching Baguette said, "Hmmm you are pretty good cat, maybe we should train together sometime to bad for you I'm stronger." Punching Baguette delivered one final powerful punch knocking the Cat Yo-kai out.

Nate said, "No Jibanyan!" Blazion was enraged at the fall of both of his cat friends, the flames on his head grew.

Blazion said, "Rahhhhhhhhh! Blazing Fist." Blazion lit his fist on fire and charged forward leaving a blazing trail behind him.

Mochismo said, "Oh I want a piece of this action. Mochi Punch." Mochismo rushed to met Blazion's fist with his fist.

Komasan said, "I'll help that guy out. Spirit Dance." Komasan did a weird dance and created a burst of flames that fused with Blazion's flaming fist. With the two Yo-kai's power combined Blazion punched right through Mochismo and continued his punch and hit Grainpa and Cereal Spiller burning both to a crisp with the two healers out of the way Blazion made quick work out of the rest of the Yo-kai. All of them on the floor defeated.

Grainpa said, "We can't give up we need to help get Buttered Blue stronger."

Nate said, "I don't want to keep fighting you guys but I do want you to stop hurting people too. Is there any possible way I could help without things getting too violent?"

Grainpa said, "you… you would help us out."

Nate said, "Sure."

Grainpa said, "Thank you, Nate, I am going to hold you to that you know but for now I will heal your friends and we will stop hurting anyone in this school."

Nate said, "Thank you."

Grainpa said, "we'll be back for you tomorrow." Grainpa then grabbed some rice from Cereal Spiller and blew it away on everyone. Then with the rest of the Yo-kai disappeared. Nate's Yo-kai too except Whisper.

Nate said, "Woah where did they all go."

Whisper explained, "Probably in the Yo-kai world."

Nate asked, "Even Jibanyan."

Whisper said, "Yes, I bet none of those Yo-kai wanted to disturb the rest of your school day."

Nate smiled and said, "That was nice of them."

Whisper said, "Oh, and look at everyone else." Nate looked around and saw that everyone who slipped on a banana peel was completely fine now and that the two boys stopped fighting and were making up.

The capped kid said, "Sorry I overreacted dude."

The other kid said, "Yeah and I'm super sorry about spiling my stuff."

The capped kid said, "That's fine as long as you were sorry."

Lucas came up to Nate and said, "Good job Nate."

Eddie overheard and asked, "Hey Lucas what are you thanking Nate for? He did nothing." Nate and Lucas had a little mental laugh.

Nate said, "Good thing Bear's Okay."

Eddie said, "Yeah I can't believe he was just asleep."

Lucas said, "good thing everything worked out in the end."

Whisper said, "almost everything."

Nate asked, "Why's that?"

Whisper said, "well at one point or another you are going to have to tell Grainpa that you are grounded and can't help them this week."

Nate said, "Oh crap oops sorry for my language" he apologied to every fifth grader around him. "I'll figure out a way to help Grainpa."

Whisper said, "If you say so."

The next day Nate had come up with a plan to help Grainpa and Buttered Blue. Of course, the regular school day was normal no Yo-kai to bother any of the students or teachers probably because the school was being patrolled by all of grain Yo-kai and Bananose. So right after school, Nate started home since he was still grounded with Whisper, Jibanyan, and the grain Yo-kai plus Bananose.

Whisper inquired, "So what exactly is your problem Grainpa?"

Grainpa said, "Weren't you listening you, idiot."

Punching Baguette said, "well there are these brutish Yo-kai who keep bulling Buttered Blue."

Buttered Blue said, "But I want to prove to them that I can take them down but I just can't, I am too weak."

Bananose said, "He just gets beat up every time."

Jibanyan said, "Well I was on the Yo-kai wiki and I read that you have the ability to make anyone lose in a fight."

Nate said, "Oh yeah, that's right so you can just inspirit these bullies."

Buttered Blue said, "I guess but even if I did I would only make them easier to beat, I'm still not strong enough."

Whisper said, "Hmm, what about your Soultimate."

Grainpa said, "Well it's similar to that one that, that cat Yo-kai had."

Nate said, "Then I bet Jibanyan can help you train. We'll have to do this at night so you'll have plenty of time."

Jibanyan said, "Sure but it'll cost you. Just kidding Nyate it will be cool."

Grainpa said, "Well I guess night will have to do."

Punching Baguette said, "Then let's get to training." While the Yo-kai were training in Nate's backyard, Nate was doing some homework.

Nate's Mom came in and said, "Hey Nate I'm going out to get some groceries. You wanna come?"

Nate said, "Sure Mom."

Nate's Mom said, "Then let's go we need to get to the bakery before it closes." So Nate and his Mom went over to the Bakery to get some bread. Banter Bakery wasn't that busy at least not as it usually was.

Nate said, "Wow Mom it's pretty empty in here."

One of the employees overheard and said, "Well from what I can tell it's because the bakers are all a bit pessimistic and they are all really doubting themselves, so that leads to less bread and it has sort of a bitter taste."

Nate's Mom said, "Oh well that's too bad but at least they still have some of that curry bread." As Nate and his mother walked out Nate couldn't help but look back a the sad little bakery that used to be known as the greatest bakery in Springdale.

"Okay, thank you Baku," said Nate as Baku discussed herself as Nate and when in the bed.

"It's my pleasure Nate," said Baku as the tapir went onto the bed.

"Nyice job finding out that Baku could hideout as Nyate Whisper," said Jibanyan.

"Yeah, that was very helpful Whisper," said Nate.

"That was a simple task for a Yo-kai butler knowledgeable in everything to know about Yo-kai." boasted the white Yo-kai.

"Yeah right, you just got that info off your Yo-kai pad, you hack," said Jibanyan.

"What!? How dare you!" shouted Whisper.

"No time for that guys, we need to go," said Nate.

Whisper said, "Don't forget."

Nate asked, "Don't forget, oh yeah right. Come on out my yo-kai friend, calling Dimmy, Yo-kai medal do your thing."

Summoning Shady

Marvelous thee!

Gusty, free banshee!

Sing, Song, Shady!

Dimmy.

Dimmy stood silent awaiting orders.

Nate asked, "Dimmy can you please inspirit me so my parents and Gargaros don't notice me while I sneak out." Dimmy gave a nod as he released a blue-purple aura onto Nate. "Thank Dimmy."

Dimmy said, "No problem."

Nate said, "Now let's go." Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, and Dimmy walked out of the house while Nate's parents didn't suspect a thing. It was a cool, and bright night all the stars were bright. It wasn't long until Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, and Dimmy made it to the bug hunter shop where they met with all the grain Yo-kai and Bananose. Bananose and cereal spiller were just leaning on the building Bananose laughing at how cereal spiller walked and spiled everywhere Mochismo was with them helping cereal spiller up when he fell. Grainpa, Punching Baguette, and Buttered Blue were all waiting in front of the store.

"Why it took you ungrateful youngins long enough," said Grainpa.

"Sorry Grainpa but we're here now," said Nate.

"Well, good thing you made it before they came," said Punching Baguette.

"Who exactly are they?" asked Whisper.

"You'll see," said Grainpa. Then two bursts of purple smoke and two bug-like Yo-kai appeared, both were beetles one was a stag and the other was a rhinoceros. Both were wearing armor, The rhinoceros beetle was wearing red armor and the stab beetle was wearing blue armor and an orange scarf.

Nate asked, "Hey Whisper who are they."

Whisper got out his Yo-kai pad and said, "Oh those two are—"

Whisper was cut off by Bananose saying, "The Stag beetle is Beetler and the rhinoceros Beetle is Rhinoggin."

Nate said, "Thanks Bananose."

Beetler said, "Okay so you actually showed I thought you bail on us. Huh oh, you brought a human, you know the rules no one else can help you battle."

Rhinoggin said, "Yeah that would be cheating."

Beetler said, "So I'll go first." Beetler took a fighting stance and gestured for Buttered Blue to come up to fight.

Rhinoggin said, "Let's go. Battle!"

Nate said, "Remember what we talked about." Buttered Blue nodded and went into battle. Buttered Blue then inspirited Beetler who was confused.

Beetler said, "Think you can inspirit me to win, well it's not gonna work." Beetler ran up to the bread Yo-kai and prepared a fist.

Jibanyan said, "You got this Buttered Blue." Buttered Blue dodged both punches Beetler threw and then tossed a pebble at Beetler doing some damage.

Whisper said, "Good job."

Jibanyan said, "Yeah go Buttered Blue nyan."

Punching Baguette said, "Keep it up."

Beetler said, "Oh you think you can beat me like that ay, take this." Beetler tossed a pebble of his own but it missed. This was the perfect moment for Buttered Blue to land a good punch on Beetler.

Rhinoggin said, "Come on Beetler."

Beetler said, "That's it no more Mr. nice guy." Beetler then went into a frenzy punching rapidly occasionally swinging his sharp pincers but Buttered Blue either dodged or took the blow. "Urh you're done. Big Pincers." Beetler opened up its pincers and charged to pinch Buttered Blue but Buttered Blue just jumped above him and said, "Buttered Again." dodging the big pinch Buttered Blue unleashed an unrelenting barrage of rapid punches on the stag beetle Yo-kai's back.

"Yaaaah!" shouted Buttered Blue landing and then hitting Beetler one last time sending him into a tree.

"Beetler was defeated." declared Grainpa.

"Now it's my turn," said Rhinoggin.

Nate said, "Here," Nate tossed Buttered Blue a glass of milk and a few rice balls. Buttered Blue ate them all up.

The Bread Yo-kai said, "Thanks, Nate."

Rhinoggin complained, "Hey that's no fair."

Whisper countered, "And two on one is."

Punching Baguette said, "At least let him heal before your battle."

Mochismo shouted, "Yeah!"

Buttered Blue got up and said, "I am ready."

Rhinoggin said, "Then let's go, ya loaf." Rhinoggin charged punching Buttered Blue with both his arms on one side. Buttered Blue got back up and tossed a pebble at Rhinoggin. Rhinoggin used all four of his arms and his horn to toss a collection of rocks. The single stone was destroyed by the rockslide but they all missed because Buttered Blue dodged to the side, Buttered Blue then inspirited Rhinoggin who was unprepared.

Buttered Blue said, "Take this." as he threw a punch but it was blocked by Rhinoggin and with his other set of arms Rhinoggin slammed Butter Blue into the dirt.

Rhinoggin said, "ha this was a piece of cake now to end you, Super Horn Crash." Rhinoggin was surrounded by an orange aura and jumped high into the air, spun, and then dove horn out to hit Buttered Blue. Buttered Blue rolled out of the way letting Rhinoggin slam his horn into the ground getting stuck.

Buttered Blue then said, "Buttered Again." rapidly punching the immobile Rhinoceros beetle Yo-kai. Buttered Blue didn't stop until Rhinoggin surrendered.

Rhinoggin said, "Fine you win. Uhh."

Beetler said, "Did you really think you could beat this guy after he outsmarted me, he was bound to outsmart you. Good job Buttered Blue hope we can train together in the future."

Rhinoggin said, "Yeah and next time we won't beat you black and blue."

Buttered Blue said, "Maybe next time."

Punching Baguette said, "Wow you won. Good job Buttered Blue."

Mochismo said, "Yeah good job!"

Bananose said, "You did great kid."

Cereal Spiller said, "Yah Buttered Blue." and they all lifted him up cheering. The two Beetle Yo-kai disappeared in a puff of purple smoke.

Grainpa told Nate, "Thank you Nate for keeping your promise you really helped us out, you too cat without you I am not sure that Buttered Again would have been strong enough to take those two down."

Jibanyan said, "Awe Shucks, it was nyothing nyan."

Nate said, "Yeah I mean you stopped inspiriting my friends so it was only right plus we were glad to help."

Whisper asked, "What about me?"

Grainpa said, "Huh, you did nothing. But here Nate take all these." Grainpa took out six medals and gave them to Nate, "You did so good that we all want to be friends."

Nate said, "Oh thank you."

Whisper said, "Now let's get home so you can get a good night's rest."

Nate said, "Yeah I don't want to keep Baku in there for too long."

Jibanyan said, "Yeah let's get home I want to sleep nyow." Jibanyan then passed out instantly.

Nate sighed but said, "I guess I'll have to carry him." Nate picked up the Nekomata off the ground and carried him home but not before waving bye to all the grain Yo-kai and Bananose.

A few days later Nate was ungrounded and he went out.

"Bye Mom, I'll be right back I just want to pick up a snack from Banter Bakery. You want anything?" said Nate while he was putting his shoes on.

Nate's mother replied, "No thanks."

Nate said, "Okay before darting out the door running to Banter Bakery with a big smile on his face." This time he didn't have Jibanyan or Whisper they were both at home doing something, Nate didn't care. When he got to the Bakery he hid on the side and used his watch to scan for any Yo-kai and he found Negatibuzz.

Nate said, "Hmm that's Negatibuzz, he must be the one to make the bakers less motivated and the bread bitter." Nate had just the Yo-kais to deal with Negatibuzz and help the bakery. Nate changed his present on his watch. "Alright calling all my Yo-kai friends. Yo-kai medals do your thing." the watch created the wheel symbol and the hands landed on Grainpa.

Grainpa! And friends.

Grainpa appeared with the rest of the grain Yo-Kai and bananose.

Grainpa said, "Woah never been summoned like that before, hello Nate."

Nate said, "hey Grainpa can you help me save this bakery."

Grainpa said, "oh old Banter Bakery I remember this place very well. Very kind owners

and great bread. Of course." Nate had Punching Baguette, Buttered Blue, and Mochismo defeat and drive all the negatibuzz. Then he had Grainpa and Punching Baguette inspirit the bakers. All the bakers went into overdrive after that making several dozens of loaves of bread and due to Bananose they even made some special banana bread. Since Nate was the first customer they gave him a free loaf and he bought some of the banana bread.

Grainpa said, "thank you, Nate, I think me and the grain Yo-Kai will be staying here to
