Chapter 14

Friday-The final end to school along with other things…

AN: First off I am so sorry for the delay took me six days I did have a few issues with internet and all and a bit of a plot mess that I had to work out. But yeah this is the last chapter of the mini last week arc. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of reaction for last chapter but I guess it's okay anyway Hope you like chapter 14 better.

It was finally here the end of school a day Nate had been waiting for, for a while now. Him and most of his class. All he had to do was get through this one last day, that's all they all had to do. Sure they would get summer homework something Nate hated but the rest of the summer would be amazing he could hang out with his friends all the time after today. That day Nate got up earlier than normal which was a surprise to his Yo-kai butler who only saw his master get up early on rare occasions. Nate got ready and prepared for school like normal but he did it all with a bright smile.

Nate's mother Lily Adams said, "Morning Nate excited for the last day of school aren't you."

Nate replied, "Yeah it's going to be great I made it through fifth grade and I am feeling great. I can't wait to do a lot this summer."

Nate's mother said, "Good for you Nate I love to see my two boys happy."

Nate said, "Love you, mom."

Lily Adams said, "I love you too Nate." Nate and his mom ate and soon Jibanyan and Whisper joined Nate downstairs.

Nate grabbed his bag and said, "Bye mom."

Lily Adams said, "bye Nate." and he left for school.

Jibanyan said, "Wow it's the last day of school nyan. That must be exciting."

Whisper said, "Yes it is, and our Nate here is going to be done with fifth grade."

Nate said, "Yeah this is going to be great."

Whisper said, "Huh I wonder is Nate here going to tell a certain someone that he likes her like his friends."

Jibanyan asked, "Wait you mean Nyate is actually going to tell Katie he likes her?! Yeah, go for it Nyate I believe in you nyan."

Whisper said, "Huh I forgot about Katie I was going to say, Maya."

Nate said, "*sigh* Okay first thing Jibanyan thanks for the vote of confidence. I appreciate the fact that you believe in me, second I am not going to tell Katie I like her sure Bear telling Lulu worked out but that was because she felt bad for him and that looked amazing compared to what Eddie did to Shelly yesterday. And third I already told you we don't like each other that way Whisper."

Whisper said, "Ha speak for yourself Nate I think that fashionista has a thing for you."

Jibanyan said, "Wait, wait, wait. What the nyan have I been missing. Bear asked Lulu out?! And Eddie rejected Shelly I thought he liked her. And who the heck is Maya?" Nate and Whisper then filled Jibanyan on what happened. At school, Nate saw Bear was still with Lulu and they were smiling. Nate couldn't help but wonder how Lulu felt lying to Bear and then he also saw Shelly and Sarah and Maya all hanging out no Katie for some reason she was probably with Alex. Eddie was with Lucas by a tree outside, and he was wearing a frown. Lucas was just neutral and when he saw Nate he gave a little smile and waved. Eddie waved too when he finally turned his head to Nate he seemed distracted.

Lucas said, "Eddie is confused."

Nate asked, "About what?"

Eddie said, "I want to talk to Shelly but she is avoiding me for some reason."

Nate said, "I'm not surprised after yesterday."

Lucas said, "Me too I don't know why Eddie is confused."

Eddie said, "Because you guys are confusing and what's up with Bear hanging out with Lulu all the time now."

Nate said, "It's just one day."

Eddie said, "I guess so. Still, it's like he's mocking me."

Lucas said, "I am just so confused."

Nate said, "I don't know but hey it's the last day of school."

Lucas said, "Yeah no more school that should be cool."

Eddie said, "Yeah by this time tomorrow I will be getting ready for a movie marathon."

Nate said, "Don't forget video games."

Lucas said, "Ha, and just relaxing."

Eddie said, "Um guys I'll be right back I am just going to do something real quick."

Lucas said, "Oh he's doing it again."

Whisper asked for Nate, "What do you mean?"

Lucas said, "Well he keeps trying to talk to Shelly but she either won't respond or Maya will yell at him."

Nate said, "Dang. I wonder what makes Eddie think he can just do that."

Jibanyan said, "Me too."

Lucas said, "Whatever the reason he has been trying all morning."

Eddie came back over and said, "Uhh, same response I tried to talk to Shelly but she won't listen."

Lucas sarcastically said, "I wonder why?" Katie then came up to the three boys, eyes down.

Katie said, "um, Nate I have something I need to tell you."

Eddie and Lucas both said, "Hey Katie."

Katie said, "Oh hey you guys." like she didn't notice them.

Nate asked, "Okay what did you want to talk about?"

Katie said, "Um I need to talk to you in private." Nate understood and followed Katie to the side of the school with no one else except Whisper and Jibanyan who were both curious.

Nate asked, "Um so what did you wanna talk about."

Katie said, "Um, well, I uh." Katie was struggling to get the words out and a light shade of blush lit her cheeks pink. Whisper and Jibanyan both gasped.

Nate asked, "What is it?" to both Katie and the two Yo-kai.

Jibanyan said, "I can't believe this is actually happening nyan."

Whisper said, "I never thought I'd live to see the day."

Jibanyan said, "We're both dead."

Katie studdered, "Um I… um I have… uh, um a…" with each actual word her blush got darker.

Nate said, "Okay."

Whisper said, "Nate don't you realize what's going on." hovering around his master circling a few times with glee and surprise.

Jibanyan said, "Yeah Katie is telling you that she likes you." Nate didn't say anything so he wouldn't weird Katie out but the way his expression changed twice from surprise to a look that was something Nate shouldn't have made when told this. He didn't believe it. Nate whispered to the two Yo-kai, "Don't be ridiculous."

Katie stopped and asked, "Um Nate are you okay."

Nate said, "yeah but what were you saying." Katie's blush came back and she went back to studdering.

Katie explained, "Um well you see… um, Nate I ...uh have… I have a crush…"

Nate's face changed to surprise again but didn't say anything he didn't want to get his hopes up this could just be a Yo-kai. His two Yo-kai companions were about to say more to Nate but then Nate brought up his watch and flipped it open.

Katie asked, "Woah that's cool I didn't know your watch cool do that."

Nate said, "Yeah but I was just checking the time." Nate just moved his hand around but the watch caught nothing.

Whisper said, "See Nate there are no Yo-kai involved in this one Katie actually has a crush on you."

Jibanyan said, "Yeah nyan be happy." at that Nate finally gave a smile. He couldn't believe it Katie might actually like Nate back no Yo-kai no anything. His luck had finally changed.

Nate said, "Um yeah back to you."

Katie said, "Oh right so yeah I have a crush on this boy… um, we are very close… I might take him for granted sometimes but … I really like him… I have wanted to tell him for a while now but I just don't know how."

Suddenly Nate realized something and became sad again, "Um so why tell me and not your other um girlfriends."

Katie said, "Well, um… uh, I did but they just really want me to do it but we have been friends for a while since we were little kids since our dads knew each other and were friends. You are probably one of my closest friends, and the one I can trust the most." Nate smiled happy to hear that from Katie. "So should I tell… um him?" Katie's blush was now as red as Jibanyan's fur.

Nate said, "Um, yeah. Whoever this guy is, is the luckiest guy in the world." Nate was surprised that he said that but it was too late and he said it with a sad smile. Luckily for Nate Katie didn't seem to notice.

Katie said, "Thanks, Nate."

Nate asked, "Do I get to know who this guy is?" though he already knew the answer.

Katie said, "Oh, right, so I have a crush on Eddie." (AN: I am sorry but also I am laughing on the inside I feel like the fact that I dragged it out made it obvious but I still think I did a good job. Again sorry for the trolling moment. haha) both Jibanyan and Whisper were shocked and stunned. Nate just wore a sad smile and said, "Eddie is a real lucky guy."

Katie said, "I am going to tell him after school so just keep this quite okay."

Nate said, "Got it." Katie then left while Nate just stayed behind still with Whisper and Jibanyan with him both frowning.

Whisper asked, "Um… Nate are you okay?"

Jibanyan said, "Sorry Nyan. That's real ruff."

Nate let a few tears roll down his eye and said, "Yeah I'm fine. I just can't believe I got my hopes up I thought I learned my lesson after all those times with Yo-kai. I knew she didn't like me that way. I am just too average."

Whisper said, "Nate it's okay there are other girls out there. This is only elementary."

Jibanyan said, "Yeah Nyate someone is bound to like you."

Nate said, "Thanks, guys. I don't know what I would do without you."

Whisper said, "Well let's clean you up and get ready for your last day of school."

Nate said, "Yeah thanks." Nate wiped his tears and got ready for class.

Most of the rest of the school day was normal for Nate it was just a boring class day with Mr. Johnson explaining summer homework and how he would miss everyone during the break and how proud he was of the class he almost teared up twice. During the whole class, each of his friends was staring at someone with a certain look. Bear was still ecstatic and kept looking at Lulu who looked at Bear back with the same look. Eddie kept staring at Shelly who dodged his looks. Katie stared at Eddie with glowing eyes sparkled with joy and dare say affection. Lucas, Whisper, and Jibanyan stared at Nate with sad worried eyes the two Yo-kai felt bad for Nate and Lucas was worried about his friend. Nate was staring at Katie and then Eddie and then Bear he just kept his sad smile. When he came back from the talk with Katie he just shoved it off away from the two boys. During their break, they played soccer and Nate kept a straight face not showing any emotion and during class he just wore his sad smile.

It was finally lunchtime. Nate, Lucas, and Eddie all sat together. Eddie was talking to Lucas about so mythology that was sort of their thing anyway since they both knew a lot about it. Eddie even got himself into the ghost hunter's club thanks to Lucas. Bear finally joined the boys today since he thought Lulu might want to just hang out with her friends.

Eddie mocked, "Well look who's back."

Lucas said, "What's up Bear."

Bear said, "Nothing just got a girlfriend unlike some person in particular." as Bear gestured to Eddie, "Yeah I heard about yesterday I can't believe you would just reject a girl like that."

Eddie was astonished, "How do you know about that?"

Bear said, "Almost the whole school knows because of Maya."

Eddie said, "Dang it."

Lucas said, "Well you were asking for it when you messed around with her yesterday."

Nate said, "Yeah and it is nice to have you back Bear."

Lucas asked, "So what is it like being in a relationship?"

Bear said, "Um well from what Lulu and I do it's a lot of handholding and compliments. Which is somehow hard to do." Lucas and Bear started talking more about it while Nate pulled Eddie to the side but not before he summoned a Yo-kai.

Nate said, "come on out my friend, calling Wazzat, Yo-kai medal do your thing." And with a flip of a coin, Nate summoned Wazzat.

Summoning Mysterious

A boo-shiggy, boo-shiggy,

Boogie-woogie,

Cling-clang

Delirious

Mysterious

Wazzat asked, "Uh Oh I remember you whatcha need kid. I am happy to help."

Nate said, "Thanks Wazzat, I just need you to inspirit Katie but only if you think she can hear my conversation with Eddie. Whisper will you go to help Wazzat?"

Whisper said, "Of course."

Jibanyan said, "I'll come too."

Nate said, "Thanks you three." So the three Yo-kai put themselves by Katie.

Nate then pulled Eddie over and Eddie asked, "What is it, Nate?"

Nate said, "Well I wanted to tell you something, you remember my talk with Katie."

Eddie smiled and said, "Oh good for you Nate it looks like it's Bear and your lucky week. So she confessed to you today?"

Nate said, "Well she confessed something, she told me she has a crush on you." Katie got suspicious while Nate and Eddie were talking but then Wazzat made her forget those suspicions.

Eddie said, "What no way?!"

Nate said, "That's what she said now you can't tell her I told you this because she asked me not to tell you but I am telling you because I think it is important."

Eddie asked, "What's up?"

Nate said, "Katie is going to tell you after school about her crush on you."

Eddie said, "What?!"

Nate said, "Yeah but here's why I told you, I don't want you to reject her I know you like another girl but you already broke someone else's heart yesterday I don't want you to do the same with Katie."

Eddie said, "So you want me to lie. I mean Katie is a great friend and I can see why you have a crush on her it's just I don't like her that way."

Nate begged, "Please can't you just do what Lulu is doing with Bear."

Eddie looked at Nate his eyes screamed the same emotion as the other girl's yesterday when Eddie rejected her he couldn't take it, "Fine, but what about you Nate she's your crush."

Nate said, "I'll get over her. I just want to make sure she's happy I love her smile if you reject her I might not see that smile for a while, Eddie. I'll be fine."

Eddie said, "Okay Nate." Nate gestured for Whisper, Jibanyan, and Wazzat to come back he thanked Wazzat and sent him on his way. Nate was still sad but he was just happy that Katie would be happy.

Three...

Two…

One!

It was finally over the end of school. It was finally summer vacation. Nate and his entire class celebrated. The whole school was happy. The halls were filled with kids and it was like a stampede to get out of the school. Some kids stuck around Nate's class and a few other classes joined into one big game of soccer, not everyone played but it was a big game most of the other kids who didn't leave or weren't still in school watched the game with their friends. Bear was watching it with Lulu but they also watched it with Megan Jones one of Lulu's friends and Lucas joined them too. Nate, on the other hand, was watching Katie and Eddie. They hadn't met outside yet but Nate watched them from the rooftop. He was inspirited by Dimmy so no one would notice him.

Katie found Eddie and came up to him saying, "Um… uh… Eddie can I talk to you."

Eddie realized what was going on but he tried his best to hide it, "Um… uh… yeah sure, what's up Katie whatcha wanna talk about it's not like I know or anything."

Katie gave him a weird look but said, "So well I have a crush on you." Eddie was still shocked he knew it was coming but it still was shocking to him. "So um… what now? Do you like me back?" Eddie was still paralyzed in shock so he didn't say anything, he was thinking up what to say. "Well?"

Eddie was about to do what Nate told him to do but then he saw Shelly she was still there and Eddie then saw Nate watching them from the roof he knew Nate felt the same way as Eddie. Eddie wanted to tell Shelly his feelings and Nate wanted to tell Katie. Even if neither like both of them he still didn't think it was right. It didn't sit well in his gut. "Um uh, Katie…"

Katie said, "Yeah."

Eddie said, "Um well, I um I don't like you in that way. You're a great friend and all but I just want to stay friends beside if I actually went out with you or something then I would be betraying not just you since I don't feel the same way but two other people as well." He then looked towards Shelly and then Nate. Katie saw Shelly but she didn't see Nate.

Nate asked from the roof to Whisper and Jibanyan, "How come Eddie was able to see me?"

Whisper said, "Well Dimmy doesn't exactly make you invisible he just makes you less noticeable so fewer people will see them. If you wanted a Yo-kai to make you invisible you should have gotten Dimmy's evolution, Blandon, or the yo-kai Nul."

Jibanyan said, "You should be more focused on what Eddie said to Katie Nyate."

Whisper said, "Yes, I wonder how things went."

Nate said, "I'll go check thanks for your help Dimmy."

Dimmy said, "No Problem Nate." Dimmy then disappeared in a puff of smoke. Nate, Jibanyan, and Whisper went downstairs and saw Eddie walk inside with a bit of a frown.

Nate asked, "So how did it go?"

Eddie said, "Well the good news is she took my rejection well the bad news is I still can't get to Shelly."

Nate exclaimed, "What?! You rejected her."

Eddie said, "Yeah but she took it well we're all still friends and she isn't in tears or anything she just said, Okay and left with her friends. Though I don't think I am very popular with the girls no matter how well that went."

Nate said, "Well you did reject two girls in one week."

Eddie said, "I guess that's true."

Nate said, "well glad to hear it went well I guess I'll see you later then Eddie."

Eddie said, "See you later Nate." the two walked out together and Eddie stayed to watch the soccer game while Nate started to head home. He saw Katie walking home with Alex and Sarah. She had a smile on her face just like normal.

Katie was just with her friends Alex and Sarah. Katie left right after she found her friends who were waiting for Katie since she was finally going to tell Eddie and they had been waiting for a long time for her to do it because she has had a crush on him for a while they didn't really know why, but they were just happy to see her finally tell him. When school was over and Katie was about to tell Eddie she felt confident she didn't really care if he liked her back or not she just knew she wanted him to know. She didn't exactly know where this spurt of confidence came from it might have had something to do with Nate telling him really made things easier for some reason. So now was the time. Eddie came out of the school and he looked worried for some reason. Katie then came up to Eddie and confessed her feelings. After Eddie told Katie he didn't feel the same way she said, "Okay well thanks for not laughing in my face glad we can still be friends,"

He said, "Sure, I would never laugh at you." Katie then left with a smile on her face it was only a little elementary school crush she would grow up and there would be other boys. It was just nice to get it off her chest. Katie came up to her friends; Sarah, Alex, Shelly, Maya, Megan, and Chelsea. Lulu was still with Bear and she wasn't that close to Natalie, Zoey, or Lina, or anyone else in the school. Katie just told them it when okay he said he didn't feel the same way but they were still friends.

Maya said, "Oh one day I am going to kill that boy."

Shelly said, "Sorry for you too Katie."

Katie asked, "Wait he rejected you too?" Shelly nodded, "Oh then sorry to you too."

Alex said, "Well at least you guys are all still good friends."

Sarah said, "That's true and you both seem to have taken it well."

Chelsea said, "That's true."

Megan said, "Huh I wonder who the heck does that boy like like."

Katie said, "Who knows and who cares let's just get out of here." Katie and Sarah then left because everyone else wanted to stay at school. When they made it a block or so away Sarah said, "Okay, we're in the clear you can let it out."

Katie asked, "What out?"

Sarah said, "Your feelings I mean you were rejected today. I don't know I haven't ever told a boy that I liked him before and Maya said there would always be crying even from her if she ever asked a boy out."

Katie laughed and said, "Well I am not sad. I feel fine it's not like he humiliated me or anything. He tried his best to let me down gently. I feel fine."

Sarah said, "Okay then. So it's finally the end of school I can not wait to hang out with you every other day."

Katie asked, "Every other?"

Sarah said, "well you are still going to hang out with those three boys I know you are you four have been friends forever."

Katie said, "well you caught me but still I can't wait to hang out with you too."

Sarah said, "Well this is where we split up see you, Katie."

Katie said, "See you, Sarah." and the two girls went there separate ways. Katie headed home but she lied she had been feeling horrible like she was filled with tears and they just wanted to flood out and make a river. She didn't want to cry in front of her friends though because she knew that would just cause them all to cry too and then they would all feel horrible and Katie didn't want that. So she just kept them to herself she promised herself she would cry at home in her room but she didn't make it right before she got to her street she burst out in tears. She didn't even know why exactly she didn't know how to explain it. So she just cried she tried to stop a few times and wipe away her tears but it didn't happen. Eventually, Nate came over with a confused look on his face at least that was what Katie thought.

Nate asked, "Katie what's wrong?"

Katie said, "Oh Nate, Um, uh what's the point of hiding it I am crying because Eddie doesn't feel the same way I do." as she continued to cry.

Nate said, "Oh, well I am so sorry Katie."

Katie said, "What are you sorry for Nate you didn't do anything and I don't hate Eddie either I just feel so sad."

Nate said, "I know but things will be okay just let it out."

Katie said, "thanks Nate I am sorry for causing you so much trouble."

Nate said, "no problem what are friends for." Nate walked Katie the rest of the short way home but that was just enough for him to cheer Katie up just a little bit.

Katie said, "Thanks again, Nate."

Nate said, "Anytime. See ya tomorrow." So Nate went home. Today was a good day. The end of the school year so now it was time for Nate to just relax. But little did he know that two wicked shadows were looming above his house ready to make their move.

AN: So this probably wasn't good enough to make up for the lost time I wanted to make it better I just don't really know how. So this was what I did a lot of random drama but I felt like this story could use some of that. Anyway, the next chapters will probably snap back to more battles. Hope you like it and please review.
