Chapter 15

A Day Past School

AN: Okay I am sorry this took a bit of time but I have a lot on my plate and I am trying my best to make this good. Anyway so I have made it to 15 chapters in less than two months I feel like I have done a pretty good job so far for being a new writer and not a very good one at that I don't really do art but Fanfiction is just something I like to do so I am glad it came out in somewhat good form. Anyway enough about me so we have moved on to the summer chapters and Nate is out of school things will be fun from here on out. Hope you like it please enjoy.

Disclaimer: I still don't own Yo-kai watch if I did the original wheel system would have been kept I mean I like the new gameplay system but I just really liked the wheel system it was part of the charm of Yo-kai watch that made me fall in love with the series. I just hope it doesn't end up like Paper Mario with constant gameplay changes.

School was over this was the first day of summer. Nate was happy about it too.

Today he was going to meet his friends at Triangle park to catch bugs. Whisper of course said that Nate should have started his summer homework but of course, Nate said he would do it later. Jibanyan was just knocked out on the couch with a half-eaten choco bar after school Jibanyan left to go fight some cars and he didn't come back home till late. So it was just Nate and Whisper.

Whisper said, "ahhh that summer air so good."

Nate asked, "hey whisper I have been wondering something. You said you were

trapped in that capsule for a hundred and something years right so how do you know so much about the modern world."

Whisper said, "well you see Nate I was in there for a while luckily for me the Yo-kai pad

was delivered to me and that is how I know so much about the modern world and am so tech-savvy."

Nate said, "okay but how did you get a yokai pad shipped to a capsule?"

Whisper said, "believe me the shipment fees were nothing to smile about but it was

worth it."

Nate said, "oh hey guys." as he waved to his friends Katie, Eddie, and Bear all with

their bug nets.

Bear said, "Hey Nate."

Eddie asked, "what's up Nate?"

Katie said, "Hi Nate."

Whisper said, "nice to see Eddie and Katie are still good friends."

Nate asked, "you guys catch anything cool yet?"

Bear said, "no we were waiting for you." with a smirk.

Eddie said, "cut it out Bear you know we all just got here."

Nate said, "Ah it just feels great to be out today the first day of summer."

Katie said, "Yeah it feels good now let's go catch some bug." then she ran off to one of the trees.

Nate said, "right behind you going to another tree."

Eddie said, "Hey wait up."

Bear said, "We're just giving you guys a head start." The group had fun running around town with their bikes and nets catching all sorts of bugs ranging from pill bugs to butterflies to beetles. The four had lots of fun in that one day and it wasn't even over yet. They were all going to stop for lunch at nom nom burger downtown. They decided to eat outside on a bench near the station so it was the four of them on one bench.

Whisper said, "Quite the eventful day Nate I bet you had a lot of fun."

Nate said while no one was paying attention, "Yeah it was fun, and it is just the first day of summer." Yet there was a mysterious energy in the air but Whisper and Nate didn't notice.

"Hmmm well it seems these friends were there when he got the Yo-kai watch." said one shadow looming above the innocent kids.

"True if fact they may be the reason in the first place. So if they are out of the picture…" said the other figure.

"Then the Yo-kai watch welder will cease to exist and he will be just an ordinary human that can't get in our way." They both said at the same time as they cackled.

"Hmmm but we must find a way to get him away from that watch since it protects us from directly using our full power against him." said the first figure.

"And find a way to mess with not just him but his friends." said the other figure.

"I have just the plan." said the first figure and just like that a dark cloud loomed over downtown Springdale.

"You won't stop your defeat if I have something to say about it." said a third shadowy figure unnoticed by the first two.

Nate was still hanging out with his friends on the bench just chilling before the cloud appeared. Whisper was right behind him also not knowing about the cloud when Nate got up.

Nate said, "Come on guys let's get going. There is still so much we can do."

Katie said, "Sure come on guys."

Eddie said, "Yeah let's get going."

Bear said, "Sure where to?" when a dark aura surrounded both boys. They both stopped for a moment before they both looked at each other with anger in their eyes.

Eddie said, "Uh more bug hunting that's just great and it's not like there are any new bugs to catch." with an annoyed face. "Because someone here had to catch every bug in Springdale."

Bear retorted, "Sorry I have fun interests unlike you just doing work on your computer coding or just letting your brain melt on those video games."

Eddie snapped, "And you don't play video games?!"

Nate and Katie saw the two bickering and they tried to intervene but they proved to be ineffective. Whisper followed worried.

Katie said, "Stop it, you guys. You're being stupid."

Nate said, "Yeah guys. Why are you even fighting?"

Eddie complained, "Because Bear here is such an idiot."

Bear snarled, "No it's because Eddie is such a jerk I mean rejecting two girls in one week, always thinking you're better than everyone."

Eddie retorted, "No I don't and I just don't like those girls and I didn't want to trick them like Lulu is doing with you."

Bear looked stunned but then growled, "You take that back!"

Eddie taunted, "Or what?"

Katie said, "Stop it, you guys."

Nate said, "Yeah you don't need to fight."

Whisper said, "Nate I think this may be the work of a Yo-kai."

Nate said, "Yeah, okay." so he got out his watch while Katie tried to get between the two boys and Nate found six different Yo-kai. Dismarelda was familiar but the other four were all new. There were three similar-looking Yo-kai each with a horn and two cyclopes styled eyes in front and one in the back. One was blue, one was red, and the last was yellow. Then there was also a blue snake-like Yo-kai with a wicked grin and the last one was a purple winged butterfly flying in the air above the rest.

Nate asked, "Who are those Yo-kai."

Whisper said, "Oh right… um uh, well you see the three oni Yo-kai there are Suspicioni the blue one, Tantroni the red one, and Contrarioni the yellow one I don't really want to get into every single one but let's just say they are all bad. The Snake there is Cynake a Yo-kai who and cause people to sulk which can be the perfect fuel for arguments, especially when sparked by those three plus Dismarelda it is like the perfect storm these five here can end marriages in instances and wreck even the strongest relationships those who's relationships do survive them are said to become so strong they are unbreakable. That last Yo-kai though completes it all and makes it impossible for any relationship to survive. That is Enefly that is a Yo-kai that makes friends avoid each other or act rudely to each other but they go back to normal after he leaves."

Nate said, "That's good then we just need to wait for him to leave."

Whisper said, "Um well it says here that by the time he leaves it could be too late oh no. Nate summon some Yo-kai to deal with this."

Nate said, "You got it. Come on out my Yo-kai friend, calling Jibanyan. Yo-kai medal do your thing." Nate tossed Jibanyan's coin in the air and caught it then put it in his watch and out came a pink spiral of light.

Jibanyan was lying down and groaned, "Uhh I am in the middle of a catnyap Nyate yesterday was super draining I can't fight today."

Nate said, "Really Jibanyan I need you."

Jibanyan said, "And I nyeed this nap so just let me sleep."

Whisper said, "It's fine Nate just let him sleep he can't really help any way right now. You need to summon a Yo-kai that can put them in a good mood."

Nate looked through his medals and said, "Oh like this Yo-kai, okay come on out my friend, calling Happierre, Yo-kai medal do your thing." Nate tossed the coin into the air, caught it, inserted it, and out came a green spiral of light.

Happierre.

Happierre said, "Why hello there Nate what is ze problem. Oh my dear Dismarelda what are you doing here?"

Dismarelda said, "Oh nothing just hanging out with some of my friends. I need some alone time too you know."

Happierre said, "I know my sweet pea but can't you see you are causing theze boys trouble."

Dismarelda said, "Oh so you think I'm a nuisance."

Happierre said, "No my sugar plum I just think your friends are a bit how you saw um bad influences."

Dismarelda said, "So you don't like my friends? Well, you can't tell me who I can and cannot hang out with." the Dismarelda ran off crying.

Happierre said, "No that iz not what I mean my darling." and he ran after her.

Whisper said, "And that was the work of enefly."

Nate said, "Woah that is strong we need to do something fast if it can break up Dismarelda and Happierre then I don't wanna know what else it can do."

Whisper said, "That's it you just get a Yo-kai that makes you lazy."

Nate said, "Alright then. Come on out my friend, calling D'wanna, Yo-kai medal do your thing."

D'wanna

Out from the yellow spiral of light came a yellow-headed, Mokugyo Yo-kai, in monk wear on a green and yellow patterned pillow.

D'wanna said, "I don't wanna."

Nate said, "I know you don't but can you please just inspirit all those Yo-kai."

D'wanna said, "Fiiiiiiinnne." and with a chant, it let out a green smoke from its mouth that was about to hit every other yo-kai but then Jibanyan jumped in the way and blocked it.

Whisper and Nate looked astonished, "Why would you do that?" asked Whisper.

Jibanyan said, "Well me and Nyate aren't friends anymore, he's always bossing me around and telling me what to do."

Whisper said, "Oh no Enefly has gotten to Jibanyan."

D'wanna said, "Well I did my part so." and D'wanna disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Nate said, "well that didn't work so what now."

Whisper said, "We need a good Yo-kai to deal with this either a Yo-kai that could quickly defeat them all, not turn on you, or counteract the effects of their inspirits."

Nate said, "Oh I know just who to call. Come on out my Yo-kai friend calling Komasan, yo-kai medal do your thing."

Komasan

Komasan said, "Why hiya there Nate what's going on."

Nate said, "No time to explain just use spirit dance on all those Yo-kai."

Komasan said, "Okay, Spirit Dance." Komasan did a weird dance that summoned blue flames that flew towards all the enemy Yo-kai. Cynake and Suspioni countered with their water attacks but the spirit dance still did some damage.

Whisper said, "That wasn't enough." Enefly then tried to inspirit Komasan but failed.

Komasan said, "Oh that tickles." to the scales that Enefly dropped on Komasan but they did nothing.

Whisper said, "Great idea Nate Komasan is so positive and friendly there is no way he could make an enemy." but then out of nowhere Jibanyan started punching Komasan until he was knocked unconscious.

Nate said, "Jibanyan!"

Jibanyan said, "He was my friend too but he was just too nyice to be real."

Whisper said, "Dang it Jibanyan we could have beat one." Jibanyan then punched Whisper a few times.

Jibanyan said, "And you're just annoying."

Things were getting bad between Eddie and Bear their argument was just getting worse.

Bear said, "Well this Idiot thinks you are a snob."

Eddie said, "Well this Snob thinks you are a big dumb nimrod who is still afraid of his mom."

Bear said, "Hey at least my mom is home most of the time." Katie and Nate and Whisper all gasped.

Eddie said, "Urh, that's it I'm out of here."

Katie said, "Wait, Eddie."

Eddie said, "For what this dimwitted, jerk. I am out of here I don't even know why we were friends."

Katie said, "Wait we just need to talk about this."

Nate said, "Come on Eddie."

Eddie said, "Oh and Nate how come I'm still friends with you? You and Lucas keep talking about how I shouldn't be surprised Shelly doesn't like me behind my back. That's real supportive. I gave up that other girl to try to ask Shelly out and I gave up Katie for both you and Shelly. Yet you and Lucas think that I did something to her that makes me so bad maybe you know why she won't talk to me. You guys told her something, didn't you? That's it I'm out of here." and Eddie stormed off.

Nate said, "Eddie wait."

Whisper said, "Wait did he say he rejected that 'girl' for Shelly wait does that mean—"

Katie interrupted, "Wait gave me up for what? Nate, what did Eddie mean by give me up for you?"

Nate said, "Um… I don't Um."

Bear said, "Wow you guys aren't paying any attention to me I was part of this fight too. Nevermind I am out of here too I am done taking a seat to you guys I got Lulu I don't need any of you." and Bear stomped off.

Nate said, "Wait Bear."

Katie said, "Wait you told him, didn't you? I trusted you and you told him. I can't believe you would do something like this Nate I thought we were friends." and then Katie walked away too.

Nate said, "Katie wait. No Guys." Enefly flapped its wings with glee and Synake laughed.

Whisper said, "Well that went horribly."

Nate said angrily, "Urh what makes you say that."

Jibanyan snapped out of the inspirit (more like was freed by Enefly), "Uh what happened,"

Nate said, "I'll tell you what happened these five Yo-kai showed up and completely ruined my life for real this time. They made all my friends fight and now we might not be friends anymore and when I needed help from my best Yo-kai friend he wouldn't help me and in fact he even made things worse for me." Jibanyan and Whisper looked at Nate in shock, Jibanyan had a bit of pain in his eyes.

Cynake and Enefly came over to the human and Cynake spoke for Enefly and said, "Haha this was great you know ruining relationships is so much fun. We think we're going to follow you home."

Nate said, "Oh no you don't you guys already caused enough trouble today."

Cynake said, "Well too bad because we're not going anywhere and you can't stop us."

Whisper said, "But he can Nate has plenty of Yo-kai friends he can call upon to stop you." Enefly hit Nate with a purple aura.

Cynake said, "Ha now you can't call on any of them. If you do they'll just turn on you."

Nate said, "Oh great thank a lot Whisper. Just as helpful as always. Next time just stay out of it."

Whisper said, "I was just trying to help."

Nate said, "Well next time don't because you are completely useless. I'll just handle this myself." Whisper looked hurt but Nate didn't care he just brought out his paper fan and started swinging but Enefly either avoided the attack or Cynake blocked it with his tail. Eventually, Nate just gave up and said, "Urh you just won't quit I'm done I am going home."

Cynake said, "Yes, now we can make all the families in your neighborhood miserable. Come on you guys." and as Nate walked home he was followed by Enefly, Cynake, the three onis, and Whisper and Jibanyan who tried to keep up. Nate just went upstairs and threw himself in bed completely ignoring his parents start to fight. He was followed by Whisper and Jibanyan who were both concerned about Nate. Nate looked at the two of them with half anger half sad filled eyes.

He then flipped over to his back and said, "I'm done with this Yo-kai business. I don't want to be the guy who has to deal with these problems it hasn't done me any good anyway so I am done no more Yo-kai."

Whisper and Jibanyan were now really worried, Jibanyan said, "Wait what Nyate."

Whisper said, "You can't be serious Nate."

Nate said, "I am serious. No more Yo-kai." Nate took off his watch and tossed it into his small trash can."

Whisper said, "No Nate please reconsider."

Jibanyan said, "Yeah we are both really really sorry. Please don't do this."

Nate said, "I made up my mind I am done." Nate then turned around and covered his head in the sheets so he wouldn't have to look at Jibanyan or Whisper.

Whisper said, "But you need the Yo-kai watch.

Nate said, "Yeah otherwise I would just be an average kid that no one would remember. I bet no one would care if I did exist. It wouldn't change the world that much."

Meanwhile nearby the Adams residence… There were two wicked shadows cackling.

One of them said, "Haha our plan worked perfectly."

The other said, "Yes now The boy has completely given up the Yo-kai watch and there is nothing standing in our way."

The first said, "We can now move ahead in our plans." and the two disappeared in twin puffs of smoke but they had no idea they were being watched by other shadows.

One of the shadows said, "Perfect now that that kid is out of the way there is nothing to stop me and my army."

The other shadow said, "Not if I have anything to say about it." and that shadow darted away.

Nate got out bed finally and looked around his room it was just the same as when he last looked around but it just seemed quiet a bit too quiet and he couldn't explain it but it was like his room had a weird aura to it. Nate took one last look and realized that the aura thing wasn't the only thing different with his room he felt like something was missing from the room. Three somethings. He felt his wrist and it felt naked.

Nate said, "Huh, what's going on. Something doesn't feel right. Something is different now." Nate walked around his room and saw his watch on his desk only the design in the middle was different it was just a more square design instead of a curved one by it was a medal with a Yo-kai Nate never saw before. Nate took the watch put it on and then tried to insert the medal but when he put it in the watch did nothing. The medal then disappeared.

Nate asked, "What was that supposed to do?" A black shadow then came from out of nowhere and said, "It was supposed to summon me and it worked."

Nate asked, "Who are you?"

The black shadow said, "That is not important what is important is getting you to keep that Yo-kai watch on."

Nate said, "How do you know about that and I already said I don't want anything to do with that."

The black shadow said, "Okay, okay, but I have brought you here not only to show you what having the Yo-kai watch has done for you but what you have done for people."

Nate asked, "What do you mean brought me here this is my room?"

The black shadow said, "Well you see we are not exactly in your room. I would like to explain but we just don't have time if you don't believe me then let's go downstairs." The shadow opened the door and Nate followed before he knew it the door behind him closed by itself. The hallway was dark and unlit which was unusual for Nate's house. Nate walked down the stairs and there was only has dad downstairs at the counter eating microwaved ramen.

Nate when up to his Dad and asked, "Hey Dad where is mom?" but Nate's Dad just completely ignored him.

The shadowy figure said, "He can't hear or see you or touch you but without you in their lives, your parents split up because they couldn't find any good in their relationship after their child died and it only got worse because they were constantly inspirited by Yo-kai that made their fighting worse."

Nate asked, "Okay so my Dad is stuck at home and probably works a lot to keep this house but what happened to my Mom."

The shadowy figure said, "Well your mother couldn't find a job here in Springdale and moved away."

Nate said, "What?!"

The shadowy figure said, "Come on let's go we still got a lot more to see." So the door to Nate's house flipped open and like a black hole, he and the shadow were sucked into the next place. Next, he was at school.

Nate asked, "How the heck did we get here?"

The shadow said, "Like I said different world things are really different for us but this still shows what would have happened if you didn't exist and didn't have the yo-kai watch." Nate looked around and saw everyone was fine and the same as usual but then Nate heard voices in his head.

Oh no, I can't do it I'm not special.

Urh that was a dumb move I am so stupid.

Uh, I am never going to amount to anything.

Why do I even bother it's not like I am going to do good.

I can't do anything right.

Nate was startled and asked, "What was that?"

The shadow said, "Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that right now you can hear other peoples' thoughts. It may be sad but without you, most kids in Springdale elementary around your age have a lot of self-esteem issues and don't believe in themselves but because of you and your averageness you made them feel good about themselves in comparison and you inspired people when they saw you do something cool or kind. You made people feel special."

Nate said, sarcastically, "Wow so I was really important to everyone."

The shadow said, "Like with your friend Shelly you helped out." The shadow darted over to the girl with glasses and she was just away from everyone. "You see because of you and Maya Shelly was able to get out of her shell more and even before that you were the one who helped her gain so confidence because you embraced yourself in class one time."

Nate said, "Okay but someone else would have become friends with Shelly I mean there are many kind kids here who would have become her friend." but then she saw Maya come up to Shelly and just walk into her and yell at Shelly.

The shadow said, "The school needed another way to take students' insecurities out on so they take it out on each other and so bullying became more and more of a problem."

Nate said, "Well every school has that."

The shadow said, "That is true anyway next we have Lucas."

Nate said, "Lucas well he's still got the ghost hunters' club right."

The shadow said, "No not really you see without you and your average ways you never got Eddie to talk about ghosts to get Zoey into it and Lina never shows her true passion for ghosts. So Lucas just ends up alone in the library also being bullied and because of that he doesn't use his Yo-kai watch much and Yo-kai just constantly mess with school life here. This place is now crawling with Yo-kai."

Nate said, "Huh okay but Lucas will make friends eventually and Lina and Zoey will meet too."

The shadow said, "No not really Zoey became friends with Alex because she lost a lot of confidence."

Nate said, "But Alex didn't get her confidence from me and what happened to Eric and Kenny."

The shadow said, "Well Eric became friends with Mark, Matt, and Andy who instead of hunting for treasure or creating mystories or playing soccer they pull pranks and bully other kids and Kenny is one of their prime victims. And the first part is still because of you just indirectly so that brings us to your main friends."

Nate asked, "What?! What happened to them?"

The shadow said, "You'll see." first Bear came out of the school and he had his bug net and fishing rod in hand and ran off quickly. "You see with Bear because he never met you he never gained enough courage to stand up to bullies because he thought he would get in trouble with his mom and also he now has no other friends because of his obsession catching bugs and fish all the time because of that and his smell no one wants to hang out with him."

Then Eddie came out and he had his face tied to his phone.

The shadow said, "Oh yes next is Eddie because you weren't in his life he never met Bear and those two really needed each other in life they balanced each other out. Now Eddie just spends his day in front of a screen all the time except in class where he spends his time competing with Sarah to be the best student in the class. Eddie also doesn't have any friends he spends too much time away from people the only people he even talks are two girls one named Jessica Stonewood and Hailey Anne Thomas but even then he shuts them out despite them being close friends in the past."

Finally, Katie walked out of the class she looked normal just she wasn't her usual happy self.

Nate asked, "What happened to Katie?!"

The shadow said, "well you see because of you not being here Eddie and Bear and herself weren't friends. She still has friends but they are bullied all the time and she can't do anything about it or talk to anyone about it the principal doesn't do much and neither does her mom since she just goes to the principal. Since her friends aren't happy she isn't very happy all the time. That, and she keeps getting inspirited by Yo-kai all the time these cause her to do embarrassing things and annoy her friends or do something not very good."

Nate said, "This is horrible how come things got so bad I don't mean that much do I?"

The shadow said, "Everyone matters Nate. Right now we are focusing on you. Do you remember how you met your friends?"

Nate said, "Yeah it was the first day of school."

The shadow said, "Well here we are." Nate looked around to see that he was now in the flashback of the time he went to school for the first time all the kids were playing and there Nate saw a mini him a younger version of himself at the time he looked the same really Nate never really changed. Nate was playing tag with what looked like to be a younger Andy and Matt. He saw a younger Katie in the distance talking to some girls one of whom was a younger Sarah. There was also a younger Bear playing some sort of ball game with a younger Daniel, Casey, and a few other kids Nate didn't reconize but were probably in class 5-1. Eddie wasn't there yet. Everyone looked so happy. Younger Eddie finally came with his mom to get signed in by that time it was time for class to start and it was okay but after school was when things got a bit more interesting. Nate still didn't really know anyone that well but everyone was just playing something. That is when they came three older kids all bigger and meaner than anyone else at the school. For some reason not known to Nate at the time but later revealed to be a Yo-kai to the future Nate, none of the teachers saw this.

The main older kid came up to Eddie and said, "Haha rich boy we know you got money on you so hand some over or we are going to get ugly."

One of the others said, "Yeah and there is no one to protect you. What's a little kid like you need money for."

The last older kid said, "Yeah so what's it gonna be kid." Eddie was alone cowering he hadn't made any friends yet so he was alone and scared until two others came.

"That's not gonna happen." said both a younger Katie and Nate. They knew each other because their fathers were friends and they both stood in front of Eddie.

The shadow said, "Without you, it would have just been Katie and Eddie both of whom would have been beaten up."

The bully leader said, "Ha what are three little kids like you going to do to us."

Nate said, "I don't think we can do much but we can face you together." The bully then punched Nate right in the face and the other two were about to do the same to Katie and Eddie but then something happened.

Bear stood in front of both and took both hits and he didn't budge he did wince a little but he didn't move.

Katie said, "Come on guys don't just stand there let's get these bullies." Everyone was inspired by the three kids and ran up to stand up against those bullies.

The lead bully said, "What we can't fight all of you." and then just like his allies he fled. This let everyone celebrate. Katie, Bear, and Eddie were still in the middle amazed at what they had done.

Eddie said, "Thank you both I would have been beaten up if it weren't for you guys."

Katie said, "What are friends for." with a smile that sparked two smiles from the two boys.

Bear said, "Ha well if it weren't for that one guy getting punched I wouldn't have had the courage to stand up I probably would have just stood away."

Eddie said, "Really you look really strong— wait what about that other guy."

Katie said, "Nate! Oh no." they all rushed over to the kid he was bruised all over and had a few cuts from falling.

Bear said, "All this from one punch."

Katie said, "Yeah I guess so but then again some kids might have run over him."

Eddie said, "Don't worry I am prepared for this situation I got medical supplies in my pockets." So Eddie went to work and bandaged and helped Nate get back up to his feet.

Nate asked, "What happened?"

Eddie said, "I just returned a favor thanks for standing up for me."

Bear said, "You were pretty brave out there."

Katie said, "Yeah you were great sorry you got hurt."

Nate said, "Oh it's fine but I am just sorry I didn't do much else than get punched." They four had fun talking and laughing and from that point were always going to be friends, Even if no one else remembered that day they would.

The shadow said, "See and from that day forward your school's bullying rates went way down and you made great friends. You know I am almost a little jealous."

The future Nate laughed, "Yeah that was a good day. Wait you were jealous why?"

The shadow said, "Um no reason let's move on to Yo-kai." Like that they were teleported to the present again and this time in front of a fish place.

Nate asked, "Why are we here?"

The shadow said, "Look." and Nate saw a tried Jibanyan crying.

Nate ran up to Jibanyan and asked, "Jibanyan what's wrong?" but Jibanyan couldn't hear or see him to Nate's annoyance.

The shadow said, "Well you see before you Jibanyan just fought trucks day and night but he always had one treasure a picture of Amy he hid it for safety purposes but when he met you and eventually moved in he was able to have kept it safe because of Hidabat but now that it was stolen Jibanyan has lost his will to fight and may just end up a street cat Yo-kai. Speaking of Hidabat but because of an unstable home problem, Hidabat isn't the great Yo-kai you once knew. Hidabat ends up spending most of his time looking for a place to live and has problems finding a good place since he can never find a good house that is empty since he still doesn't like to be around people."

Nate asked, "What about Whisper?"

The Shadow said, "Well because you never existed and none of your friends except Bear bug hunt Whisper was never freed from the crank-a-kai and no one has gotten a Yo-kai watch. Not only that but most of Springdale's Yo-kai are always out of control inspiring each other and other people and some of the more kind ones are bullied its rough out there for Yo-kai." Nate pictured Whisper being trapped and Hidabat wandering forever and all the other Yo-kai having problems.

Nate said, "Woah I guess then I am ready to go back."

The Shadow said, "Good because we need you for more than just this the whole city would have been destroyed by Slimamander and he isn't even our biggest threat. There are going to be a lot more problems here in Springdale I hope you're ready. Oh, I guess we are out of time good luck Nate." and just like that Nate woke up.

Nate popped out of bed and said, "Woah that was a crazy dream." but then he felt his wrist, and there it was his Yo-kai watch intact.

Whisper and Jibanyan said, "Oh yes Nate your back we are both very sorry, oh please don't leave us."

Nate said, "Don't worry guys I am glad to see you but come on now we got a few Yo-kai to take down." so Nate rushed downstairs with Whisper and Jibanyan following. Ready to take down a few Yo-kai.

Back somewhere near Spring tower, The shadow appeared coming out of a weird door. By him was a three-panel mirror Yo-kai and a weird turtle-like Yo-kai too. Taking notes was a woman in a labcoat wearing red glasses.

The shadow said, "Thank you for helping me out again."

The woman said, "No problem besides it was a great way to research the effects of other Yo-kai on the gates."

The shadow said, "Well I guess I work is done for now well at least mine is you still have a long way to go don't you professor Gately."

Professor Gately said, "Yes I do have a long way to go but you have helped a lot so thank you. I hope to see you again someday."

The shadow said, "I am fairly sure we will meet again but for now farewell."

Nate was downstairs he was with Jibanyan and Whisper watching his parents fight from the hall while being hidden.

Jibanyan said, "So those are the Yo-kai that made me punch sweet little Komasan let me at 'em." but Nate held him back.

Nate said, "I get it Jibanyan but if they inspirit you again then it is game over if we can take out Enefly then you can take out any of the other Yo-kai but right now we don't even know how to get close to Enefly."

Whisper said, "Ah, I got it why didn't I think of this before. Nate use the pin application of the Yo-kai watch on Enefly."

Nate said, "Okay." and Nate clicked open his watch and activated the targeting system and shot Enefly who didn't feel a thing.

Whisper looked at his Yo-kai pad and said, "Ah I got it the best way to deal with Enefly is to call upon cupistol. It is the perfect moment since they are causing your parents to fight. There are very few Yo-kai that can take Cupistol down and not even all five of them combined can stop Cupistol and then while they are distracted then you use paws of fury Jibanyan."

Nate said, "That's a great idea but wait I don't have Cupistol's medal remember it was destroyed in the fusion."

Whisper said, "Fear not he gave me another copy of his medal."

Nate said, "That's great thanks Whisper. Okay, come on out my Yo-kai friend calling Cupistol. Yo-kai medal do your thing."

Cupistol said, "Why hello there Nate I was hoping you would summon me to help you with your love life."

Nate said, "Um well actually Cupistol I was hoping you would help me take down Enefly."

Cupistol said, "Urh Enefly one of my least favorite Yo-kai always messing with love I work hard to create. Okay, deal." Cupistol then went inside and inspirited Nate's parents. Who immediately stopped fighting and fell in love again.

Whisper explained, "The common myth that if a girl punches you she likes you and the other common myth if a boy messes with you he likes you comes from the feud between Enefly and Cupistol. They are also the inspiration for movies where the two main characters fight and then fall in love."

Cynake said, "Dang it Cupistol is here everyone get him." All five Yo-kai rushed in to attack the lover Yo-kai.

Whisper said, "Now Jibanyan." Jibanyan nodded and prepared to attack.

Jibanyan said, "Paws of—" but before Jibanyan was able to launch his attack Cupistol shot all five of the Yo-kai with his pistol. All five fell to the floor defeated.

Cupistol blew on his gun and said, "Well my work here is done so see ya."

Nate said, "Thanks Cupistol." while Jibanyan and Whisper just stood there with their jaws dropped. With five Yo-kai defeated Nate's parents went back to normal.

Nate said, "okay next to patch up my friendships and I know just where to start." So Nate grabbed his bike and made his way as fast as possible to Bear's house.

Nate knocked on Bear's door to find his mom.

Mrs. Bernstein said, "Oh hi Nate I bet you are here to see Bear. I thought you guys were hanging out with Katie and Eddie today."

Nate said, "We did it just didn't end well I guess. I am here to try to make things right."

Mrs. Bernstein said, "Oh okay then I bet things will go well." So Nate went upstairs to Bear's room on the roof. Bear was just on his bed reading some comics. Nate opened the door and walked into Bear's room.

Bear said, "Oh it's you. What are you doing here? Didn't you get the memo, I don't want to see you guys."

Nate said, "I know you didn't mean that just like how Eddie didn't mean what he said about you."

Bear asked, "How do you know that?"

Nate said, "Because we are friends and you are his best friend that's why we caught that Stag beetle for him. Also, I am sorry Katie and I missed our chance to make things up to you before it's just I made a mistake and I hurt Katie just like you accidentally hurt Eddie. Come on I was hoping we could go apologize to him together. Besides we didn't think Lulu was faking it that's just what Maya told us we think that she actually likes you, dude."

Bear said, "Thanks and I guess I was being a big jerk sorry."

Nate said, "Don't worry but don't say sorry to me we need to get to Eddie's house quick."

Bear said, "Then what are we waiting for. Let's go."

Nate said, "Yeah." So Bear and Nate ran downstairs and prepared to head out.

Bear said, "Wait I forgot something, go on head Nate."

Nate said, "Okay then. See you there." So it was just Nate on his way to Eddie's house.

Whisper said, "Well Bear was easy to apologize to."

Nate said, "Well he doesn't really hold grudges he is cool like he doesn't like to fight but when he does he usually is quick to make up. Now Eddie might be harder especially since Bear hurt him pretty bad." Nate then stopped at a house with a red door in breezy hills Nate knocked on the door. Eddie was the one to open the door and he wore an annoyed face.

Eddie asked, "what are you doing here?"

Nate said, "I wanted to apologize I am sorry we should have listened to you I know Bear hit you in a sensitive spot but you guy we were just in the heat of a moment."

Eddie hesitated for a moment but then said, "So what Bear was still a jerk and you and Katie were no better."

Nate said, "You're just saying that Katie didn't do anything I was the jerk and I am sorry about that." Then Bear came in on his bike.

Bear said, "I'm here. I'm here."

Eddie said, "Of course you apologize to Bear first. I guess I don't mean as much."

Nate said, "That's not it, you guys are both my good friends if anything I feel left out sometimes. But I knew you wouldn't accept any apology without bear since he did the most damage though you did say some harsh things too."

Bear said, "Hey, actually yeah I did say some things I didn't mean I am really sorry Eddie I was just mad I don't even know why."

Eddie hesitated again but said, "No I still can't forgive you. You went too far. We aren't friends anymore."

Nate said, "Come on Eddie. We both apologized what more do you want."

Bear said, "No he's right I am sorry I just felt hurt by what you said about Lulu after and me and Nate are your friends and here is to prove it." Bear brought out the stag beetle and held it out to Eddie.

Eddie was amazed, "Woah a stag beetle how did you find one they are supposed to be extremely rare out here."

Nate said, "You know Bear and his bug finding skills it was no problem for him."

Bear said, "but it was Nate's idea."

Eddie said, "Thank you guys and you're both forgiven and I am sorry too. I can't believe I made such a big fuss I don't even know why we fought in the first place. I guess we were both being stupid. I can't believe you guys got me my favorite bug."

Nate said, "Yeah and now all I have to do is makeup with Katie, and then everyone is back."

Eddie said, "oh yeah sorry about that but you and Lucas have been talking to Shelly behind my back."

Whisper said, "Oh right Eddie didn't recognize Shelly."

Nate said, "Um Eddie, here's the thing the reason Shelly has been avoiding you, Maya has been protecting her from you, and Lucas and I have been talking behind your back is because um… well, the two girls you were deciding over were the same person." Eddie looked wide-eyed and Bear just looked confused. "You rejected Shelly for herself."

Eddie said, "I rejected Shelly?!"

Bear said, "Eddie rejected Shelly."

Nate said, "Yeah I guess so I mean I guess I should have known since neither Maya nor I recognized Shelly when she first changed her look."

Bear laughed and then asked, "Oh, too soon?"

Eddie said, "Yes oh dang it how could I let this happen."

Nate said, "Don't worry I can help explain this to Shelly and Maya later but right now I gotta make things up to Katie."

Eddie said, "Wait I still need to process this oh but sorry Nate I know you were trying to help."

Bear said, "Nate you going to need any backup?"

Nate said, "No, I need to do this I was the one who broke her trust but um Bear can you help Eddie I think he needs to talk to someone."

Bear said, "Okay good luck."

Nate said, "Thanks." Nate left Eddie and Bear all three friends again.

Whisper said, "Eddie was a bit harder but all is well in the end."

Jibanyan said, "But Katie is going to be the hardest right."

Nate said, "Yeah but I have to do it."

Nate made it to Katie's house and he was extremely nervous. The most nervous he felt in his life so far. But he knew he had to do it so he came up to the house and knocked on the door. Jibanyan and Whisper were right behind him and tried to reassure him. Unluckily for him, Katie answered the door. Nate was hoping her mom might answer the door that way he would be invited into the house and it would be less awkward than him waiting outside her front door.

Katie said annoyed, "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't slam this door in your face."

Nate said, "Well I wanted to tell you Eddie and Bear made up." Katie rolled her eyes clearly still angry at Nate.

Katie said, "Anything else."

Nate said, "Yeah I am extremely sorry I mean you told me a secret and I told Eddie."

Katie said, "Yeah how would you feel if I told your crush that you liked them." Nate blushed at that and Jibanyan and Whisper just fell to the floor laughing. "Yeah, that's what I thought."

Nate said, "I am so sorry it's just I knew Eddie didn't like you that way and I didn't want him to hurt you like he did Shelly."

Katie said, "then why didn't you tell me that he liked Shelly."

Nate said, "Well I didn't think you would listen to me and I guess I just wasn't feeling right when you told me."

Katie said, "Of course I would have listened to you I may have been heartbroken but I thought he didn't like me that way. Do you have any idea how that feels." Nate was silent but in his head, he thought yes I know exactly how that feels.

Nate said, "I guess I just couldn't stand the thought of you getting hurt and I asked Eddie to lie because I thought he would eventually fall in love with you since you're such a great person. I know that's no excuse but I guess what I am trying to say is that um… well… Katie… I um… really care about you."

Yet Katie was obvious as usual but luckily for Nate, she smiled and said, "Well I care about you too Nate I guess I forgive you. See you later." and like that things were right with the world.

Nate said, "Yeah see you later." a bit quietly to himself.

Whisper said, "That went well."

Jibanyan said, "Yes it did nyan so get home I bet your parents are freaking out since you didn't tell them where you went."

Nate said, "Oh yeah dang we better get home." and like that Nate rushed over to his house with his two Yo-kai companions.

AN: Long Chapter I know this was my longest yet I know it wasn't the best not that well crafted I could have spent a bit more time on it but I just couldn't rewrite it a third time and I felt this version came out pretty good. Close to how I expected it. Anyway so now it is summer in Springdale now things are going to get interesting or should I say, stranger. Now I had to include a flashback to how Nate met his friends and this just seemed like the best way to do it even if Nate seems like he took a tantrum for one thing how would you feel if all your friends turned on each other and you couldn't do anything to stop it plus Tantroni was part of the group of Yo-kai. Also I felt like I didn't add enough worse to Yo-kai Watch Life: for Better or Worse. Okay, I must have been inspirited by Babblong because that was a long rant. Anyway as always hope you liked it.
