Chapter 27
A Tower Clash: Fire vs Fire (Part 1)
AN: Okay it's finally here, I know this took long and it may not be worth it but I put my heart and soul into this chapter. So far it is now the longest chapter I have made and I don't think I'll be able to top this for a while. I think I did a great job with this chapter though it isn't much plot it is one of my best if I do say so myself. Anyway hope you enjoy.
AN: I still don't own yo-kai watch, if I did massiface would have been a befriendable yo-kai.
It was night time in Springdale at a late time Nathan Adams was fast asleep at home with his two yo-kai partners ever by his side. Their side of town was perfectly quiet. Yet somewhere else in town the same could not be said. Violence is the opposite of peace and the opposite of peace was the opposite of the former guardian lion-dog known as Komasan. Our little yo-kai was just in shoppers row shopping he had a long day of work earlier that day just like his little brother Komajiro. He let Komajiro rest at their place while he went to buy groceries. Komasan had grown more used to the city now of course but it was still a scary place at night. He was walking around minding his own business when he was passing by a Nom Nom burger. He knew he shouldn't have been there his brother spent weeks stopping him from eating the ice cream off other peoples' cones he just couldn't help it he only stopped because Nate always called him when he got tempted but now he couldn't help it. He saw a young couple both who looked to be middle schoolers, they were sharing a sundae, they shouldn't have been out at the time so Komasan thought they were going to get what they deserved. Komasan jumped up to the ice cream and took a bite, "Ummm that was so good another bite wouldn't hurt would it." Komasan then took another and another he couldn't stop it was like he was inspirited by a Grubsnitch but he wasn't he just couldn't stop eventually the whole thing was gone.
Komasan said, "Oh no oh no I ate it all."
The girl took notice that all the ice cream was gone and glared at the boy. She said, "Ur how dare you eat the whole thing. I only got one bite." She then stormed off.
The boy said, "Wait I didn't eat that much." but the girl already left.
Komasan said, "Oh my I guess I've made quite the mess of things."
The boy surprisingly turned around and said, "Yes, Yes you have you, country bumkin."
Komasan shouted, "OH MAH SWIRLS you can see me?"
The boy said, "Yes I can I am a yo-kai too you foolish komainu and quite a powerful one at that. I am going to make you suffer for not allowing me to collect that girl's heart and making a fool out of me." The boy's form then disappeared in a puff of purple smoke and to replace it there floated a nine-tailed, yellow furred fox with angry eyes that seemed to burn with purple fire.
Komasan coward down at the sight of the powerful yo-kai. Komasan said, "you-u're a k-kyubi."
The floating fox said, "Why yes I am, good to see you noticed. So if you know what I am then you must know what I am capable of." as he conjured a ball of fire with his hands.
Komasan gulped as tears started falling down his face.
Kyubi said, "Don't worry I won't hurt you now. Frankly, I don't have the time today but tomorrow meet me at the top of the constriction site don't show up and I'll hurt not just you but I will find you and hurt those closest to you. Got it?"
Komasan nodded with fear.
Kyubi said, "Then I'll see you tomorrow." and with that, the nine-tailed fox yo-kai flew off into the night.
Komasan said, "Oh my swirls. What have I got myself into."
The next day Nate got up and actually did homework and he wasn't going to let anything distract him until the doorbell rang. He was the only one home at the time other than his two yo-kai companions who were both doing other things. Nate got up and when he opened the door he was surprised to see the two Koma brothers both looking worried.
Komajiro said, "Nate you have to help us."
Komasan said, "Please I am begging you."
Nate took them in and said, "Okay okay. What's wrong? What happened?"
Whisper and Jibanyan came downstairs the cat yo-kai asked, "Hey what's going on."
Whisper said, "Oh it looks like Komasan and Komajiro came to visit."
Nate asked again, "What's wrong? What happened?"
Komasan said, "It's all my gosh darn fault. I accidentally angered a guardian."
Nate and Jibanyan both asked, "What?"
Komajiro said, "My Bro made a huge mistake."
Whisper said, "Well it can't be that bad after all you two are guardian yo-kai."
Komajiro said, "We're not talking a shine guardian."
Jibanyan said, "I'm lost nyan."
Nate asked, "Wait who did you angry Komasan?"
Komasan said, "I angered Kyubi."
Nate and Whisper both shouted, "WHAT?!"
Komajiro nodded and said, "Yeah it's that bad."
Jibanyan shouted, "Will someone please tell me what's going on?"
Nate said, "Well you see Kyubi is the supposed guardian of Springdale. They are a fox yo-kai with nine tails that can manipulate fire."
Whisper said, "Yes they are some of the strongest yo-kai, every single other boss we have gone up against so far wouldn't even compare to Kyubi, not even Slimamander."
Komajiro said, "Yeah, and he just said for my bro to go to the top of the construction site here in town tonight."
Jibanyan said, "What that place is dangerous nyan."
Nate said, "Yeah it a construction site why would he have you do that."
Whisper said, "Well that place is crawling with yo-kai maybe that's his main base of operations."
Komasan said, "That doesn't matter. Kyubi wants to fry me to smithereens up there and I am not sure if I'll even make it to the top. I need your help, Nate."
Nate said, "Sure thing anything for a friend let's show this Kyubi bully you won't just be pushed around."
Whisper said, "But Nate, Komasan stands no chance against Kyubi even if they are both guardians their difference in power is tremendous."
Jibanyan said, "But we can train him I bet with a lot of training you can beat that Kyubi."
Nate and Komajiro said, "Yeah!"
Komasan said weakly, "It's worth a shot."
Whisper said, "Okay then. Nate you should summon more yo-kai to help you train Komasan and I think training at the Shoten temple might be a good idea."
Nate said, "Okay then to the Shoten temple we go." Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, and Komasan and Komajiro made their way to the Shoten temple.
Jibanyan asked, "Why are we training here?"
Whisper explained, "Well you see—"
Mr. Zen finished, "This place has a special aura to increase yo-kai power. Hmm, what brings you all out here?"
Nate said, "Oh hello Mr. Zen well you see."
Komasan said with shame, "I angered the guardian of this town and now I must fight him so we are training to help me."
Mr. Zen said, "Hmmm well okay the Komainu have always guarded these sacred temples so why don't we return the favor. Though I must say it is weird that Kyubi is punishing you hmmm." and he walked off.
Komajiro said, "Okay let's get to training."
Jibanyan said, "Alright okay Komasan hit me with your best shot." Komasan punched Jibanyan but if anything it hurt Komasan.
Komasan said, "Ow." as he pulled back his fist.
Whisper said, "uhh Komasan doesn't specialize in physical combat he is more of an elemental fighter Jibanyan though you could be helpful in training up his defensive abilities and we could work on both his offenses. Though I doubt we can help with the inspirit it won't help against Kyubi but training you against his inspirits should be a priority."
Nate smacked Whisper with his fan, "Okay that's enough out of you you're confusing Komasan just tell me who to summon to help."
Whisper rubbed his bump on his head and said, "Uh, okay I recommend we get at least three healers out here Mr. Zen said he would provide us with healing if we need but having more healers on the scene will be quicker. I would say summon Hungramps, Grainpa, and Tattlecast in fact summon the whole Grain gang they will all be helpful. Summon Blazion, he will be helpful too, to help keep Komasan as well as the other motivated. Also, summon Mirapo, Kyubi will take less from fire attacks which are Komasan's specialty but luckily they are Kyubi's as well and Komasan takes less as well Mirapo will help Komasan get used to giving and taking fire attacks. Summon Noway and Roughraff, they can both be used for target practice and Roughraff will show Komasan how to counter-attack as well as how to dodge them. Robonyan might be helpful on how to hit a flying target as well as being able to help in other ways I am sure. Baku can help Komasan train against inspirits. The dancing trio might help train dodging. That should be good for now."
Nate said sarcastically, "Is that all? This is going to take a while."
Whisper said, "yes yes it will Komasan start by punching Jibanyan and Jibanyan you
teach Komasan how to punch better."
Komasan then said, "Yaaaaaaah!" as he ran up and punched Jibanyan as hard as he could with all the physical power in his body. Jibanyan barely felt a thing.
Jibanyan said, "Really that was weak Nyan. Here come and punch this tree with me." Jibanyan then ran up and punched the tree causing half of the leaves to fall off. Komasan followed and one leaf fell and Komasan did too. Jibanyan facepawlmed and said, "It's going to be a lonyg day."
Nate inserted another medal into his watch and said, "Yes, yes it is."
The two were right it was going to be a long day. Nate summoned about three dozen yo-kai which took a long time especially since he couldn't use the team summon feature to do it.
Jibanyan started training Komasan first with his punches. Jibanyan did and Komasan followed, Komajiro joined in too he wanted to train right alongside his brother. Then Blazion joined in he inspirited Komasan and Komajiro, he and Jibanyan punched. Blazion was much better at punching so Jibanyan learned some too. Jibanyan showed Komasan speed, while Blazion showed him power.
Komasan said, "Yah." as he punched the tree again, "Ow, Ow." as he recoiled his fist in pain from punching the tree.
Komajiro came to support him and asked, "Are you alright big brother?"
Komasan said, "Yeah but what did this tree ever do to me." Jibanyan and Blazion both sighed. Jibanyan dodged attack after attack from Blazion's fist showing Komasan two things how to dodge and where to punch. Blazion and Jibanyan got really into it.
"Rah!" said Blazion as he threw a punch.
"Nya," said Jibanyan as he ducked.
"Rah!" Blazion as he swung again.
"Nya." said Jibanyan as he rolled to the side.
"Rah!" Blazion then punched again into the ground where Jibanyan barely dodged in time. The two kept going and going at on another Jibanyan dodging and Blazion punching until they when at crazy speeds dodging and punching and dodging some more until they both got a little tired.
Nate paused from summoning and said, "Here you guys. You earned this." Nate then tossed each of them their favorite food. A chocobar for Jibanyan, some meat for Blazion, and two glasses of milk for Komasan and Komajiro. Jibanyan and Blazion ravaged their foods while Komasan and Komajiro took slow sips of their milk. Then it was Komasan and Komajiro's turn. Komasan was up against Jibanyan first punching and punching. Komajiro was up against Blazion dodging and dodging. Komajiro did okay at dodging Blazion's punches. When he did get hit he blocked lessening the damage. Komasan was able to punch though at first, he wasn't able to land many hits and the one he did were weak. Eventually, Komasan improved and became quicker and faster landed more punches and they were stronger too. Next Roughraff taught Komasan to punch after dodging and getting hit. Jibanyan switched with Komajiro between training with Blazion. All of the yo-kai were training together except the group of healers. Tattlecast, Grainpa, Hungramps, Baku, and Cereal spiller were all in charge of healing the yo-kai, Tattlecast, Grainpa, Hungramps, and Cereal spiller were able to heal all the yo-kai with their abilities and Baku helped heal by putting the yo-kai to sleep for a little bit to help them rest.
Next Buttered Blue, Punching Baguette, and Mochismo helped Komasan improve his punching even further. Buttered Blue was a punching bag that fought back against Komasan, and Punching Baguette coached Komasan and Mochismo coached Buttered Blue.
"Huh." Buttered Blue swung a few punches at Komasan who dodged all of them and then using what he learned from Roughraff he punched back hard.
"Yah!" said Komasan as he landed a powerful blow sending the bread yo-kai back.
Buttered Blue then said, "Hiya." as he punched again hitting Komasan but doing little damage.
"Take this." said Komasan when he swung again and punched Butter Blue who dodged. The two went at each other like that for a while. Meanwhile, JIbanyan, Komajiro, Blazion, and roughraff were all in an all-out brawl. Eventually, Komasan moved up from Buttered Blue to fighting Mochismo who was a lot more aggressive and power-based. Komasan wasn't doing so good he was out sped and out powered. Mochismo was beating him to a pulp.
Komasan said, "he's too strong."
Punching Baguette said, "sometimes you don't have punch harder, sometimes you need to fight smarter." Komasan barely avoided another powerful punch from Mochismo.
Komasan asked, "How the heck am I supposed to do that. I have been using the skills and technique y'all have been teaching me but it hasn't been doing me any good."
Komajiro cheered, "You got this bro just think a little outside the square."
Jibanyan asked, "Dony't cha meanyn outside the box?"
Komajiro said, "Not how we do it." Komasan was hit again taking damage but this time he accidentally inspirited Mochismo and Mochismo was burned. Komasan then got an idea.
Mochismo said, "Hey I thought we said no inspirits."
Komasan said, "Sorry but here you go." Komasan then tossed fireball after fireball Mochismo dodged but with no need since they weren't even close to hitting him.
Mochismo said, "Hey no fair." and then punched where Komasan was but the Mochi yo-kai ended up hitting nothing. Komasan then punched him right in the face with his strongest punch and the brave yo-ka was knocked back.
Komasan said, "I can't hit you with my technique doesn't stop me from using it." Komasan then landed another blow and another until Mochismo was down for the count in which he was healed soon after.
Komajiro ran up to hug his brother and said, "Yeah big bro way to go."
Jibanyan came up and gave him a friendly punch to the shoulder, "Yeah way to go big guy."
Komasan said, "Aw shucks. It was all thanks to all yous helping me."
Punching Baguette said, "Stop being so modest you did great in there you took every punch like a champ and you fought back in an innovative way."
Komasan said, "Why thank you sir you're mighty kind."
Punching Baguette then went into a fighting stance, "Now you fight me."
Komasan shouted, "OH mah swirls! Are you sure I can handle you."
Punching Baguette said, "No I am not but you can not rely on me to give you the answer to that. That is something you will only know once we fight."
Komasan said, "If you say so." Punching Baguette then jumped and did a flip a few feet away from Komasan said, "Now let's do this."Punching Baguette then rushed over to Komasan to punch him, his fist was only a couple inches away from Komasan's face, "COME ON I SAID DO THIS!"
Komasan then punched back in response to that.
Jibanayn cheered, "Keep moving nyan that way you'll be harder to hit." Komasan nodded to that though he wasn't used to fighting while moving since he didn't normally fight with his fists he thought that was a good idea. Komasan let out some fire as he ran.
Punching Baguette said, "That won't work on me." he then punched the fire out with his fists, "This bread is already toasty." he then nearly hit Komasan again but Komasan dodged at the last second. Roughraff was fighting Buttered Blue and surprisingly losing but he shouted, "He little guy remember to counter attack."
Komasan said, "Oh right and he punched the bread yo-kai right before he ran."
Punching Baguette said, "Hmm you're doing good but now it's time to kick things up a bit." Punching Baguette murmured, "You the best around…" and inspirited himself with a golden aura. He punched again and barely missed again but this time he really left a mark in the ground. Komasan gulped but punched again dealing some more damage to the Baguette. Punching Baguette responded with his own punch, "Sometimes it's better not to counter attack."
Komasan picked himself up and said, "Urh, I'm not done yet." Komasan then ran up to Punching Baguette who punched Komasan again but this time Komasan leaped up and kicked him.
Punching Baguette took a good amount of damage but said, "Hmm nice one a kick is stronger than a punch riskier but at that moment it was so unexpected that it was more than worth it." Komasan then landed another punch and another but then Punching Baguette landed a powerful punch and knocked the lion-dog back.
Punching Baguette glowed in a golden aura and jumped up high, "Now to finish this, Dempsey Rolls." Punching Baguette unleashed an unrelenting barrage of punches not unlike Jibanyan's paws of fury completely decimating Komasan. Komasan got back up though.
Komasan said, "I… am not done…" Komasan then fell, Komasan was defeated. Punching Baguette called over the healing yo-kai and Komasan was healed in a matter of minutes but he looked disappointed.
Komajiro came to his side and asked, "Bro are you okay?"
Komasan said sadly, "Yeah I'm just disappointed I lost."
Jibanyan said, "Don't beat yourself up about it Punching Baguette is a tough opponyent." Punching Baguette then came to Komasan.
Komasan said, "Sorry I lost."
Punching Baguette then said, "I knew you couldn't and I didn't expect you to. That wasn't the goal. I am a rank A yo-kai because of my physical feats while you are a rank D who uses the elements. The goal was to make sure you were good at fighting not just with your elemental skills and you did great you even took my Soultimate without poofing right on the spot I was afraid I went too far with the fight but you did great beside I bet things would have gone a lot differently if you were able to attack me with your flames."
Komasan said, "Thanks, sir."
Punching Baguette said, "My pleasure, I love teaching people how to master the art of fighting. You really didn't stand much of a chance I am one of the best physical fighters and possibly the best at hand to hand." Jibanyan, Blazion, and Roughraff all looked at him with challenging eyes.
Jibanyan said, "You wanna test that."
Roughraff said, "Yeah I bet I could best you."
Blazion shouted, "Rah Rah."
Punching Baguette said, "Who am I to turn down a challenge like this." The four then headed to the makeshift ring they made for sparring.
Whisper then came over to the two brothers and said, "Oh hey look what I found a wanted to help you out but…"
Komajiro said, "Wait but you aren't a good physical fighter."
Whisper said, "I'll have you know I was part of a very powerful army."
Komajiro said, "Sure…"
Whisper said, "Why you. Uh but anyway I found these books in Terror Time and I was thinking I could give them to you, they are supposed to make you better at fighting." Whisper then handed Komasan a small stack of red books.
Komajiro took one off the stack and read, "Hidden Hits."
Whisper said, "With that, you'll be a combat master."
Komasan said, "If you say so."
Nate said, "Okay last one, come on out my yo-kai friend, calling Robonyan, yo-kai medal do your thing." before inserting the last medal into his watch.

Robonyan said, "Ah, good to see you Nate how can I help you?"
Nate said, "Well Robonyan we're trying to help Komasan get stronger so can you help us out. I bet you have all sorts of cool training tricks from the future."
Robonyan said, "Of course I can help with that. I would be delighted to." Robonyan then rushed over to Komasan and noticed what he was reading, "Oh my I haven't seen one of those books in ages."
Komasan said, "Oh really."
Robonyan said, "Why yes I believe this was actually the last time Jibanyan saw these, in fact, don't tell him but he ends up reading these today."
Komajiro said, "Oh."
Whisper said, "I can see why he would like to increase his fighting skill through reading why what a good choice for our feline friend."
Robonyan said, "You know if the future these are no longer made because we came up with a better version here read this." Robonyan produced from his mouth a thicker version of the book that had a more vibrant cover with bright red and yellow on the cover.
Komasan read, "Arcane Attacks neat." he then opened up that book and the three started reading it. Whisper stood there slack-jawed.
Jibanyan came over having just lost the brawl and said in a non-energized tone, "Hey what's going on nyan."
Whisper then got up in his face and said, "Oh we're reading here take this book it will help you become stronger." shoving the book in Jibanyan's face until he read it. Robonyan then helped Komasan and Komajiro use the skills in the book and they did a couple of exercises.
Robonyan said, "Okay now that we have worked hard on physical attacks let's get down to fundamental defense." Komasan and Komajiro followed. "Okay so a good defense relies on being able to take a blow the best way to do that is to guard yourself the best way to do that is to block the full force of an attack Jibanyan, Blazion come here."
Jibanyan said, "Sure nyan."
Blazion said, "Rah!" the two came over.
Robonyan said, "Okay now you two attack me with all your might."
Jibanyan said, "Sure thing." Jibanyan then rushed over to punch and scratch the Robotic yo-kai.
Blazion lit his hair up and said, "Rah!" as he rushed in to help Jibanyan punch and attack Robonyan. Robonyan went into a defensive position and absorbed each attack. Blazion and Jibanyan then both threw fire at him. Robonyan spun and deflected the attacks.
Robonyan said, "do you see? I was able to use defensive maneuvers to protect myself and sustain less damage to my body. For you two it may be different blocks and guards but it is all the same in ways. I will help you now we will try to find your weak points and guard them I will analyze now." Robonyan scanned both yo-kai and guided them through how to block in careful movement yet also to be fast to be precise and quick was key to mastering good defense.
Robonyan said, "okay now to put your moves to practice, Blazion, Jibanyan, Roughraff, and Buttered Blue all come here. Okay, you two will switch out you must practice blocking both types of attacks."
Komasan said, "Alrighty then I'll go first, Komajiro don't hold back."
Komajiro said, "You got it."
Jibanyan said, "Okay here we go." Jibanyan was the first to attack Komasan blocked each of his punches. Then Blazion came in and started punching, Komasan dodged away because Robonyan said there is a time to dodge and a time to block. A dodge can stop you from taking any damage which is better but some times you can't do that. So Komasan dodged then he blocked Jibanyan's incoming attack with his arm. Then Buttered Blue and Roughraff joined in. Komasan did a good job blocking their attacks for a while though he took quite a bit of damage from all of them. Komasan then did his special technique. Komasan inspirited himself so he went ablaze. The fire around him was enough to protect him and repel everyone else then he tossed the fire at Jibanyan and Roughraff defeating both.
Robonyan said, "Well done. You are now well rounded in defensive techniques but you cannot train for having a defensive body like mine so we must train your endurance next. Komajiro you will be next. Noway will help you Komasan in endurance."
Komasan said, "Okay then."
Noway said, "Noway."
Komasan looked at the wall confused.
Noway said, "Noway."
Komasan was still confused.
Noway the conjured a rock and launched it at himself and said, "Noway."
Komasan said, "Ohhh you want me to hit you with my attack."
Noway shook his head and said, "Noway." which meant that was what he meant. Komasan then said, "Okay take this." Komasan then shot fireball after fireball at the wall but it did nothing.
Komasan huffed, "Okay so now take this." Komasan shot fire at him from the side, and he back and even from above yet it still didn't affect the tough yo-kai.
Noway said, "Noway." still no change in expression.
Robonyan flew over and said "See Noway here is a master of defense and he hasn't even used any guarding techniques.
Komasan said, "Really I hit him with everything I had."
Robonyan said, "Yes though he might end up a bit fatigued later, Noway is quite the powerful defensive yo-kai here let me show you." Robonyan then jetted up high and said, "Rocket punch." and shot both his metal fists at the wall of a yo-kai.
Noway took a different stance and said, "No Way Through." an orange seal formed in front of him and blocked both rocket punches.
Komasan said, "Woah, gee willikers, you are a mighty yo-kai."
Robonyan said, "Yes yes I am," not knowing Komasan was talking to Noway, "We may not be able to train you to have a defensive body but we can train your endurance the best way to do that in a short amount of time is to hit you with as many soultimate moves you can take and keep training you to get up after more and more. Okay, so we need all offensive soultimate yo-kai."
Komasan gulped, "Oh my swirls. This is going to be painful."
After an hour of being obliterated by countless soultimate, Komasan slowly improved his endurance though the Healer yo-kai were on overtime and overdrive healing him, Komajiro, and Jibanyan, the latter two also wanting to train with Komasan.
Roughraff dragged Komasan to the makeshift training ring and said, "It's my turn to teach you my way of defense."
Komasan said, "Okay."
Roughraff asked, "Do you know what the best defense is?"
Komasan replied, "Guarding and endurance."
Roughraff shouted, "NO you dope, of course, that's what they teach you but no the best defense is a whole lotta offense. So you and I are going to brawl it out you can use your technique or whatever that fire is but don't rely on it." Roughraff then punched Komasan.
Komasan asked, "What was that for?"
Roughraff said, "We're starting dummy get up and fight me." Komasan threw a punch but Roughraff swatted it away with his hand and Komasan threw another and roughraff did the same thing as last time. Roughraff then headbutted Komasan.
Komasan said, "Urh." as he fell again.
Roughraff said, "Come on you can do better than that." Komasan then shot a ball of fire at Roughraff and Roughraff countered with a rock that canceled out the ball of fire.
Komasan said, "What?"
Roughraff said, "Come on I was easily able to block that okay show me that fire thing that was the best come on."
Komasan inspirited himself and asked, "You mean this?"
Roughraff said, "Yah that's it that's good, hey if you keep getting hit, hit em back with that cause if you keep attacking then your opponent won't get the chance to land one on ya."
Komasan said, "Okay I guess that makes sense."
Roughraff said, "Well that's all I can teach you so get on out of here." Komasan then walked off. Mirapo then rolled up to him.
The mirror yo-kai said, "Okay now I finally get to train you, me and Blazion will prepare you for Kyubi's fire attacks."
Komasan said, "Okay but how are you supposed to do that? You don't use fire attacks do you?"
Mirapo said, "no but I can reflect yours back at you and with Blazion inspiriting me they come back with twice the power."
Blazion then appeared by Mirapo's side and shouted, "Rah Rah!"
Komasan asked, "So do I just take the attacks or what?"
Mirapo explained, "You just find any way to survive them and remember to attack me with your fire attack."
Komasan said, "Okay." Komasan, Blazion, and Mirapo trained for a while. Fire was sent flying everywhere. Komasan dodged, blocked, and just plain took the blasts of fire thrown at him. Komasan kept up pretty well though he and Mirapo had to get healed every now and then.
Mirapo said, "Good job now to turn up the heat. Blazion I am sorry but you can no longer help but please stay here to inspirit me."
Blazion nodded and said, "Rah." calmly.
Komasan asked, "So what are we doing now?"
Mirapo explained, "So now instead of you dodging and blocking we are going hit you with your own Soultimate because if you can survive that at twice it's power then you can definitely survive Kyubi's fire attacks."
Komasan said, "Okay then."
Nate came over and said, "You have been doing so good Komasan."
Jibanyan said, "Yeah nyan you're a super strong fighter now."
Komajiro said, "You got this bro."
Komasan said, "Thank y'all I am ready Mirapo."
Mirapo said, "Okay bring in the healers, oh, and don't worry they are more for me then they are for you."
Komasan said, "Ready."
Mirapo said, "So am I hit me with your best shot."
Komasan said, "Okay then here we go Spirit Dance." Komasan then summoned and blasted Mirapo with will-o-wisps and Mirapo sent them flying back, not before falling to the ground in pain. Komasan then took his enhanced fire attack and resisted defeat.
Komasan huffed and said, "Okay I am ready for another one."
Mirapo said, "One second." as he was healing.
Nate said, "Here Komasan." as he tossed a glass of milk to him, "It will help you recharge your soultimate."
Komasan said, "Thanks, Nate."
After a bit more attacks Mirapo said, "Good job Komasan now to take things up to the final level."
Komasan asked, "What do you mean?"
Mirapo said, "So now we know you will be able to survive Kyubi's fire attacks but now we are going to see if you can survive his soultimate. I am going to reflect your fire attack and I am also going to double it again by using my Soultimate to send another one back at you."
Komasan said, "Okay then I guess I'll give it all I got." Every other yo-kai gathered around to watch Nate watch them both with curiosity. That was the same look of other yo-kai and others had anxious looks, Komasan and Whisper being among those yo-kai.
Mirapo leaned on Noway and said, "Okay ready."
Komasan said, "Okay it's now or never I guess. Spirit Dance." Komasan focused all of his aura around himself and then with a determined look he did a small dance and with his aura, he summoned and sent a wave of fire to hit Mirapo.
Mirapo took the blow and said, "Mirror to Mirror." Mirapo not only reflected back Komasan's soultimate but he sent it back with his own. Komasan saw the amazing blast of fire fly through the air. Everyone was in awe at the magnificent looking fire attack it was a combination of blue and white fire flying through the air. It was raw and powerful it had the stunning beauty of a natural disaster like a lightning storm, a volcano erupting, or a tsunami but like a with the beauty of a natural disaster one must never forget the disaster part. Komasan was hit hard by all the flames. The little yo-kai took the worse of the attack and after it was over Komasan and Mirapo both fainted. The healer yo-kai ruched to their aid but they were too badly injured. Nate scooped up Komasan quickly and a group of yo-kai picked up Mirapo and ran to the temple where Mr. Zen took them and healed them.
Mr. Zen said, "Wow you guys train hard but don't worry I can heal them."
Nate said, "Thanks, sir."
Mr. Zen said, "Sure thing it's what I do." I few minutes later Komasan and Mirapo came out good as new. Mr. Zen said, "Here you go all fine."
Komasan said, "Yup I feel right as rain."
Mirapo said, "Me too. Oh but I think we should hold off on that soultimate training for now and get back to it after your other training."
Komasan said, "Okay."
Jibanyan came between them and said, "Hey we should train for speed nyext. Mirapo can you take us to the school."
Mirapo said, "Sure, Warp." as his body glowed and he swallowed up Jibanyan and Komasan and they appeared by the school.
Jibanyan said, "Thank Mirapo."
Another Mirapo said, "No problem."
Komasan asked, "What was that?"
Jibanyan explained, "Oh that's just the Mirapo system they can warp yo-kai anywhere where there's another one of them."
Komasan said, "Oh that's mighty convenient."
Jibanyan said, "Yeah though we don't use it much." Soon many other yo-kai followed from the Mirapo and so did Nate. Robonyan then flew from the temple to the school and made it pretty quickly.
Jibanyan said, "Okay nyan we'll be working on your speed now to do this let's start with a few sprints, Okay let's go." Jibanyan then darted from one end of the track to the other with Komasan trying to keep up he was then passed by Robonyan who flew past him literally, and Mochicmo, Blazion, and Komajiro. When he got to then end Jibanyan said, "Come on nyan pick up the pace."
Komasan was huffing and puffing, "I'm trying to." They did lap after lap thanks to Nate providing them with staminums, Nate drank one, and joined them.
Nate said, "I bet I can go faster than you, Jibanyan."
Jibanyan said, "You're on Nyate."
Komajiro said, "I bet I can go faster than you both." The three then raced past each other. Komasan ran after them.
Blazion then said to Robonyan, "Rah Rah."
Robonyan said, "Of course! Will do." Robonyan then flew up to Komasan and then shot a rocket fist at his feet.
Komasan asked, "Ahh what was that for?"
Robonyan explained, "Blazion explained to me that you would most-likely run faster if you were put into a dangrous situation so logicly I put you in a dangrous situation running from me."
Komasan shouted, "Oh my swirls." as Robonyan fired another rocket fist. They went at that for an hour or so. Komasan was able to go faster still not as fast as Jibanyan or Komajiro but faster. Nate was surprisingly fast he was able to keep up with Jibanyan but no one but Robonyan was able to keep up with Komajiro who was incredible fast.
Nate said, "Wow Komajiro is fast."
Jibanyan said, "Yeah, he's faster than me."
Komasan said, "Yeah he's always been the faster of us two."
Whisper said, "But now you are improving in speed, you are doing great Komasan."
Jibanyan said, "Yeah you'll be able to face that nyine-tailed fox in nyo time but first let's train you in agility." Jibanyan darted around jumping from place to place.
Komasan said, "Okay." Komasan tried jumping like Jibanyan but he tripped.
The dancing trio came in and said, "Oh it looks like our friend here needs some help in the movement department."
Komasan said, "yeah I guess you're right so you guys will help me?"
Wiglin said, "heck yeah we are."
Rhyth said, "yeah cause we're the dancing trio."
Steppa said, "We are going to teach you how to move and grove and how to dance and dodge."
Nate said, "Really."
Whisper said, "yes this is why I had you summon them their dancing is perfect for agility and dodging training for Komasan."
Wiglin said, "come on everyone join in." Wiglin, Rhyth, and Steppa all started dancing and pulled people into their dance party. Tattlecast came and played some jams for them. Everyone danced not just Komasan and the dancing trio after all that training all the yo-kai needed a break and a dance party and some food was just the way to do it. They of course went back to the shoten temple to do it so they could get back to training soon after. Tattlecast played all kinds of music. They listened to Rock, Hip hop, pop, jazz, blues, country, punk, soul, dubstep, disco, techno, and even classical and the dancing trio taught Komasan how to dance to it all. Nate even learned some moves.
Wiglin said, "we have taught you all we can."
Steppa said, "we wish we could teach you more but…"
Rhyth said, "we can't without our teacher but you did great."
Komasan said, "Ah shucks thank you three for teaching me how to dance."
Steppa said, "we did more than that."
Rhyth said, "we taught you how to dodge and improved your agility."
Wiglin said, "now we just need to put this to the test without music."
All three said, "You got this little dude."
Komasan asked, "put to test? What do you mean?"
Robonyan said, "now we will unleash a fury of attack and inspirits at you to see how your dodging capability has improved."
Komasan gulped as he said, "oh my swirls!" before a barrage of attacks were sent flying at him. Robonyan fired a rocket fist, Blazion tossed a ball of fire and Tattlecast cast a purple aura at him. Komasan dodged them all with a couple slides and side steps.
Komasan said, "woah that was a close one." Just then a punch from Jibanyan just missed.
Jibanyan said, "it's nyot over yet buddy." Jibanyan then threw another punch and Komasan moved out of the way.
Roughraff then came out of nowhere and said, "how's this one on for size." and he threw a couple punches and a headbutt. Komasan dodger them all with some dance moves. Punching Baguette and Buttered Blue then came and punched luckily Komasan dodged them and a couple more rocket punches from Robonyan from the air. Komasan then narrowly avoided a chain of inspirits from Hungramps, Baku, and Cereal spiller with a spin.
Komasan shouted, "what in tarnation." Komasan then dodged a barrage of fire, rock, and wind attacks all of which came back twice because of Mirapo and a couple rocket fists. To say there were a lot of close calls would be an understatement with every single attack on Komasan they were only inches away from Komasan some of them even hitting but Komasan blocked so they did less. Komajiro then ran around and unleashed a bunch of bolts on Komasan. Komasan did the "electric" slide to get away from that.
Jibanyan then jumped up and shouted, "Paws of fury." Komasan took a few good blows but he dodged a lot of them.
Komajiro then said, "Wild Zaps." summoning down a barrage of powerful bolts. Komasan did his best to dodge but he couldn't help but get hit by a few. Komasan kept dodging and dodging attack after attack, between regular physical, crazy techniques, and powerful Soultimates Komasan was worn down. Komasan survived all of it.
Komasan huffed and puffed, "is it over?"
Nate said, "don't worry I think that's all of that."
Whisper said, "you did astounding out their Komasan."
Komasan said, "why thank you." before going back to panting.
Mirapo rolled up to them and said, "okay to heal up and then we'll train you on perfecting your fire powers."
Komasan said, "okay." It was getting late the sky was turning orange it was getting late Komasan was supposed to go up the construction site later but Nate went Baku off to go take his place for now. Nate's dad would be working late and Nate's mom was going to be tired when she got home so Nate lucked out.
Mirapo, Blazion, and Noway all helped Komasan train his technique but their wasn't much to teach Blazion even said that Komasan should be teaching him how to improve his fire. Jibanyan watched the training though and greatly improved.
Whisper said, "ah well I see you can't really improve your technique well I have just the thing."
Komasan asked, "you do?"
Whisper said, "why yes I do." the yo-kai butler the pulled out a book similar to the last but instead of a fist and red on the cover this one was blue and had a wisp on it.
Komasan read, "Top techniques."
Whisper explained, "this book explains the science behind techniques and will help you master yours."
Komasan said, "sure alrighty."
Komajiro said, "cool it's like your other book I wonder if they still have these in the future. Robonyan!"
Whisper looked like he was just hit by Nate's paper fan and said, "What, no need this is a good book it is grade A—"
Robonyan rushed over and said, "what is the issue? Oh I see you have a collection of top techniques in the future these were made better due to scientific finds. Here I have a copy. Robonyan the produced another book. This one thicker than Whisper's and the cover was more vibrant with a light green and blue cover.
Komasan read, "Ancient Arts. Neat. Thanks Robonyan." and the three started reading it.
Whisper grabbed his books and then shoved them onto the approaching Jibanyan.
Nate said, "okay I think you are ready Komasan."
Whisper said, "no no but you have greatly improved Komasan. Still you probably won't be able to take Kyubi down." Nate elbowed Whisper.
Robonyan said, "You have greatly improved though. Your skills have improved by quadruple what they were before in fact all the yo-kai involved in training improved their combat capabilities by at least 50 percent except whisper."
Whisper said, "what how."
Jibanyan said, "you didn't do anything nyan."
Whisper said, "I did plenty."
Komasan said, "wow I improved that much thanks y'all."
Jibanyan said, "Nyo problem buddy nyow I do have a request for you though."
Komasan asked, "what is it?"
Jibanyan said, "let's fight dude."
Komasan exclaimed, "oh my swirls!"
Jibanyan said, "yeah just think of it as your final test of something."
Komasan said, "okay then."
Jibanyan said, "just don't hold back okay."
Komasan said, "okay."
The two yo-kai then met in the ring and a new yo-kai appeared it was a yellow skinned snake with a red hat.
Nate asked, "who's that yo-kai?"
Whisper pulled out his yo-kai pad and scrambled, "um… Uh this is um."
The yo-kai came up to the boy and said, "hey there I am slitheref, I am going to make sure this is a good, clean fight, here take my medal."
Nate said, "okay thanks."
Whisper said, "oh this yo-kai is called slitheref he likes to—" Whisper was interrupted by Nate smacking him with his paper fan.
Jibanyan said, "okay Komasan you can make the first move."
Komasan said, "here goes nothing." Komasan then tossed a ball of fire at Jibanyan who dodged to the side and then rushed up to hit Komasan who barely avoided the attack.
Jibanyan said, "hey come on I knyow you can do better than that."
Komasan said, "well then take this." Komasan then punched Jibanyan who didn't expect the physical attack.
Jibanyan said, "oh so that's how you wanna do it." Jibanyan and Komasan then fist fought each other. Jibanyan had the advantage and was wearing Komasan down. He knew he had to switch this battle to a battle he had the advantage in. Komasan temporarily inspirited himself causing him to burst into flames burning Jibanyan and forcing him away so Komasan could gain some distance.
Komasan said, "okay now it's time to crank up the heat." Komasan then unleashed an unrelenting barrage of fire balls and burn inspirites. Jibanyan was not prepared for that still recovering from Komasan's "firewall" so he was hit by the first few balls of fire.
Jibanyan said, "yeah this is getting interesting." Jibanyan then started running dodging the fireballs though he was hit by an inspirit so now we was slowly getting weaker. Jibanyan then got close enough to start punching and hit Komasan with his inspirit so Komasan couldn't get away even if he tried the fire trick again. Komasan blocked and dodge the best he could but Jibanyan was just too fast and too aggressive. Komasan then lit up his fire defense again and Jibanyan burned himself again.
Jibanyan said, "your little shield won't protect you from this." Jibanyan jumped up in the air and shouted, "Paws of Fu—" Komasan hit Jibanyan with the fire surrounding him and Jibanyan fell to the ground.
Jibanyan said, "nice one but I can keep this up forever." The aura around Jibanyan then flared and Jibanyan fell to the floor knocked out.
Nate said, "Jibanyan!"
Whisper said, "he's fine he just needs to be healed." Jibanyan was then taken away by most of the healers except Hungramps who healed Komasan.
Nate said, "okay, great job Komasan you took down Jibanyan."
Komasan said, "barely though he was tough I had to hit him with all I had."
Whisper said, "clearly not if you didn't use your soultimate."
Komajiro said, "Yeah you did great Bro. Now come on I want to battle you next."
Komasan said, "okay Komajiro."
Komajiro said, "and don't think I'll hold back just cause we're family."
Komasan said, "okay then I won't either." The two then went to the battlefield and Slitheref said all the rules again and then they fought. Komajiro started by inspiriting himself which engulfed him in a golden aura of course this did give Komasan a chance to hit Komajiro with a couple balls of fire.
Komajiro then rushed around since he was now faster and then he launched bolt after bolt at Komasan. Komasan then tossed more fire at Komajiro. They both hit each other with elemental attacks for a while though Komajiro was faster and able to hit Komasan with more bolts of lightning, Komasan was stronger and able to hit Komajiro with more powerful blasts of fire. Komajiro then rushed up to punch Komasan and like with Jibanyan it became a fist fight and unlike with techniques Komasan and Komajiro were equal in strength for the most part but because of speed Komajiro had the advantage. Komasan took the chance to inspirit his brother. Komajiro was burned by the inspirit. Komasan then engulfed himself in fire from his inspirit and repelled Komajiro. Komasan then tossed the inspirit as a fireball and hit Komajiro with it. Komasan and Komajiro then went back to fighting each other, hitting each other with elemental attacks. Komajiro was about to go down.
Komajiro said, "Well I guess it's time to wrap this up." Komajiro was surrounded by a golden aura and said, "Wild Zaps." Komajiro then summoned a massive cloud in the sky and blasted a Komasan with multiple blasts of electricity.
Komasan tried dodging, he then charged his aura and said, "Okay I guess if you're going all out then I will too. Spirit—." Komasan was hit by a zap before he could unleash his soultimate. Komasan was left kneeling on one knee from the attack giving Komajiro the perfect chance to finish Komasan.
Komajiro said, "you put up a good fight brother but I guess I was stronger." Komajiro then rushed at a fast pace to deliver the final blow to Komasan but right before his fist hit Komasan, Komasan caught his brother as he was defeated by the burn from Komasan's inspirit.
Komasan said, "Don't worry I got you Komajiro." Komasan then handed Komajiro to the healing yo-kai and Nate came over and said, "You did great Komasan."
Whisper said, "Well, you did good but you need to rely less on your inspirit that won't work on Kyubi."
Jibanyan, who had recovered from his battle with Komasan, asked, "Why nyot?"
Whisper said, "You see Jibanyan, Komasan's burn inspirit doesn't do any damage to powerful fire yo-kai."
Nate said, "Wait but it says on your yo-kai pad it says Kyubi has the same inspirit and since Komasan is a powerful fire yo-kai then it should have no effect on him."
Jibanyan said, "Yeah."
Whisper said, "I guess but still."
Jibanyan said, "But the only reason Komasan used his inspirit to fight me and Komajiro's speed advantage because of our inspirits."
Nate said, "Yeah and so when Komasan fights Kyubi then they'll be even."
Komasan asked, "um about that I was wondering if you would come with me to the construction site?"
Nate said, "Sure thing I mean we took you this far so we might as well take you all the way. Besides we said we would help you so we're going to help you."
Komasan hugged Nate and said, "Thank you Nate."
Nate said, "You're welcome." Then one final challenger came from the steps of the temple.
Appak asked, "Hey can I help you train?"
After a lot of dodging and futile attacks Komasan survived and did some damage to Appak he couldn't get close because Appak's water katana would instantly defeat him but his fire attacks were weak only his inspirit did damage.
Komasan said, "Spirit dance." Komasan summoned a blast of fire to attack Appak as a last ditch effort.
Appak said, "Torrent Slash." Appak jumped up and completely knocked away the fire and Komasan. The fire like Komasan's spirit diminished. The healing yo-kai quickly rushed to heal Komasan. When Komasan came to, his spirit was crushed and he wore a big frown.
Komajiro rushed to hug his brother and asked, "Are you okay?"
Komasan said, "Don't worry I'm fine."
Jibanyan said, "Good, that's a relief."
Nate said, "You did a good job out there."
Komasan said, "No I didn't, I was completely destroyed."
Appak said, "Don't worry about it dude, I am a rank A for one thing, I have a sword while you only have fists, and you are very weak to water while I feel little from fire."
Whisper said, "While Appak is right you could work on your Soultimate it could be stronger here take these they are supposed to help improve them." Whisper then gave Komasan a stack of yellow books.
Komasan read, "Soul Secrets."
Robonyan came in and said, "Oh I have never seen those before I'll take those for the future here take this book instead, I believe it is an improved version of Whisper's from the future." Robonyan produced a golden book and gave it to Komasan.
Komasan read, "Mystic Mysteries. Ooh."
Komajiro said, "Cool."
Jibanyan said, "hey I wanna see." The three read the book but Komasan still wanted to improve his soultimate.
Komasan said, "That book was helpful but I don't feel like my Soultimate is strong enough yet."
Whisper said, "You should try my books, maybe they'll be more effective."
Nate said "That's a stupid idea Whisper I mean it's Robonyan's book it has to be the best it's from the future."
Robonyan said, "But Komasan is right, his Soultimate has improved but it has not reached its peak."
Jibanyan said, "Awe nyancicals. I still think we should go, it's getting late."
Komasan said, "I guess but Kyubi said he would be there tomorrow so I am guessing he meant the same time as when I ran into him, so we would still have a few hours."
Nate said, "I got an idea I know just who to call to improve your soultimate. Okay come on out my yo-kai friend, calling Shogunyan, yo-kai medal do your thing."

Nate said, "well you see we were training Komasan here and we were hoping you could
help him improve his soultimate move since you're a legendary yo-kai and your soultimate is so powerful."
Shogunyan said, "I would be happy to help this young warrior." Then Shogunyan got a
good look at Komasan and jumped, "Ah! you didn't tell me I would be teaching another legendary yo-kai."
Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, Komasan, Komajiro and just about everyone else shouted,
"WHAT?!"
Then a soft, smooth, male voice came from the steps of the temple to explain, "Ah so
you summon him but not me, you know we are both legendary yo-kai right? I guess it makes sense you were going to choose him over me but still a bit rude. Oh and Shogunyan you really shouldn't be surprised." The voice belonged to Dandoodle who seemed to be pouting but also being cocking at the same time in a way only Dandoodle could do.
Nate said, "Hey Dandoodle what are you doing here?"
Dandoodle said, "I was just taking a stroll around town when I heard the summoning of another legendary yo-kai but you see Komasan here has a very strong resemblance to his legendary ancestor Komashura who is Shogunyan's rival."
Shogunyan said, "Oh so you are just a decedent ah."
Nate said, "Woah so Komasan has a legendary ancestor just like Jibanyan cool."
Komajiro said, "Wait, that means I have a legendary ancestor too. So cool."
Whisper said, "Wow what luck for you three coming from proud families oh but those are massive shoes to fill."
Nate then asked, "Hey wait so far all of the other legendary yo-kai have been pretty ancient. How come you see so much more modern?" he asked Dandoodle.
Dandoodle said, "Ah an interesting question."
Shogunyan said, "You see, though legendary yo-kai are one of a kind Dandoodle are very special."
Dandoodle said, "You know how I was made into a yo-kai well you see I am not the first in fact this one you call Manjimutt is what I technically am. I am just a rare, more powerful yo-kai though it takes more than just being rare to be legendary, not only do my handsome abilities make me incredibly strong but I am so far the strongest Dandoodle."
Shogunyan said, "you see what dandoodle means is with his kinyd whenever a nyew one of him is born the two have an inexplicable urge to find each other and fight each other in a battle."
Dandoodle said, "Yes if there are two dandoodles we must find each other and fight though not in a warrior like savage way we battle using our looks the most handsome becomes the one and only dandoodle you see here and the other is forced to fuse with another manjimutt to become a sir berus."
Nate said, "woah that's crazy you fight to maintain your position as a legendary."
Shogunyan said, "Yes, while us other legends are one of a kind, by birth Dandoodle is a legend by title though we both earned ours by being extremely powerful yo-kai though in different ways."
Dandoodle said, "yes but this kid seems to need help with combat so I guess that's right up your ally."
Shogunyan said, "I guess but I am not the best with techniques and if he is an ancestor of Komasan, he's going to specialize in techniques if only my old friend were here, he would be perfect for teaching him how to master his technique."
Dandoodle said, "Yes and I don't have an offensive technique or soultimate so it's up to you."
Shogunyan said, "Okay then. Okay Komasan hit me with your Soultimate."
Komasan asked, "Are you sure?"
Shogunyan said, "Yes I am sure, now hit me with your best soultimate."
Komasan said, "Alrighty then, Spirit Dance." Komasan summoned flames then sent those flames to hit Shogunyan. Shogunyan was bathed in flames yet when they died down it looked like nothing even happened.
Shogunyan said, "Is that the best you got? I doubt Komashura would be proud but I do have to say I do see the potential your Soultimate has. I bet if you focus your power more and more, then you could create a stronyger blast of fire. You can also work on making your flames higher power. Sure you have a wide range but up againyst stronger foes you should work on a more powerful attack."
Komasan said, "Okay then."
Dandoodle said, "Here let me recharge that soul energy for you."
Nate asked, "How are you—" Dandoodle flashed a grin and suddenly everyone felt good again.
Dandoodle said, "Never doubt the power of good looks."
Komasan finally mastered his soultimate to his fullest extent and he finally felt ready. Komasan said, "Oh thank you thank you, thank you mr. Shogunyan sir."
Shogunyan said, "No problem, you were a great student. I wish you luck in your battle against Kyubi. Ah now that is something I bet Komashura would be proud of he loved challenging Kyubis his most proud achievement was probably that odd white one…" Nate, Komasan, Jibanyan, Whisper, and Komajiro then went over to the temple and thanked Mr. Zen.
Mr. Zen said, "sure thing, I am glad to see you kids have fun out there getting stronger oh and here before you go." Mr. Zen gave Jibanyan, Komasan, and Komajiro each a small orange orb with a red swirl on it, it looked like it was in an ice cream shape.
Nate, Komasan, Komajiro, and Jibanyan all said, "Thank you."
Mr. Zen said, "That is an exporb it can make you stronger if you break it but I bet you are all strong enough anyway good luck."
Nate said, "Like you just said though we won't need it." Mr. Zen chuckled as they left.
There they were finally they made it to the construction site at dark. There were no workers around so Nate just snuck in though he was a bit scared himself he was going to support his friends.
Nate said, "Here we go then."
Komasan gulped, "yup thanks you guys for coming with me."
Jibanyan said, "You bet buddy."
Komajiro said, "I'll follow you anywhere bro."
Whisper said, "Don't worry about it Komasan. Nate you stocked up for this."
Nate said, "No not really we used a lot of food for training so we are pretty low on it."
Whisper said, "That's not good. I am sensing a lot of yo-kai activity here. I guess we'll just have to keep going, we have no time to get more supplies."
Jibanyan said, "Hey with Whisper sensing they're probably no yo-kai in there." Nate nodded and they all walked in the construction site. Unfortunately this was one of those times where Whisper wasn't wrong. Of course there weren't a lot of yo-kai but the place was crawling with them
Nate said, "I guess this means more training before your fight with Kyubi."
The way up the construction site was long and treacherous, it was a bad time for Nate to find out he had a minor fear of heights as they made the climb up the unfinished building. Komasan was scared too but they both braved through it. The place was like a maze in some ways but it was a fairly simple maze other than the climbing ropes which got confusing. The three yo-kai fought off the lot of yo-kai that lived in the building ranging from, Cutta-nah-nahs with their sharp bladed hair to Moskevils who drained the energy from everything and discouraged Komasan. There were Nirds; which were smart alec birds that looked like tengloom, Ledballoons who constantly blocked the paths of the site making them take a multitude of detours, and then there were hidden snakes like Croonger and Urnaconda. Komasan, Komajiro, and Jibanyan didn't exactly have a tough time with them though because of their training.
"That was easy nyan I bet you'll do great against Kyubi Komasan considering the roll we're all on." said Jibanyan as they climbed the final set of stairs.
"Hey don't get too cocky yet though you guys did do amazing against those guys Kyubi will be no push over." said Whisper.
"Hey, anyone else get the strange feeling that something's watching us?" asked Komajiro.
"Don't be silly nyan we've taken down everything nyearby and anything on this floor we'll take down too." said Jibanyan. Just then there was a thud.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that." said a robotic cat voice that the group of five knew well.
"Robonyan what are you doing here?" asked Nate.
"Are you here to wish my bro good luck?" asked Komajiro.
"Ah that's mighty kind of you." said Komasan.
"Wow a trip from the future just for Komasan ooh someone sure is special." said Whisper.
"I am not the Robonyan you know, you see there are multiple cat yo-kai who became robots. The Robonyan you know is just one of many and I am here to challenge anyone who dares come up this high into the construction site. If you wonder why it is because this building is cursed by yo-kai energies so this building must never be finished." said the Robonyan.
"Wait, we just need to get to the other end to meet someone." said Nate.
"No expectations, I must ask you to leave." said the Robonyan.
"No siree I made a promise and my friends here worked so hard to help me so we won't stop here." said Komasan.
"Komasan don't worry we've got your back through and through." said Jibanyan, "For Robonyan." Jibanyan then rushed to punch Robonyan and because of all the training he actually did damage to the robotic yo-kai.
"Ah damage sustained, threat detected. Defence programs active." said the Robonyan the Robonyan then called in two black flamed Blazions.
"Oh no they called in back up, Whisper who are those yo-kai?" asked Nate.
"Ah those are Quakens oh no that's not good they can cause tremors that must be a reason this building is taking so long to be built." said Whisper as he looked on his yo-kai pad.
"Komajiro, you and I will take on those Quakens while Jibanyan keeps Robonyan busy." said Komasan.
"Okay bro." said Komajiro before hitting Quaken with a blast of lightning.
"Nyaaaah!" said Jibanyan as he pelted Robonyan with small balls of fire from his tails.
"Rocket fist." called Robonyan as they shot their fist at Jibanyan. Jibanyan dodged and dodged the attacks and then quickly climbed up one of the poles to slash Robonyan midair.
Quaken said, "Rah!' as they both performed different attacks, one of them caused a tremor sent towards Komajiro who seemed to take bad damage from the attack while the other Quaken caught Komasan in a fist fight. Jibanyan got an idea.
"Hey over here!" mocked Jibanyan as he ran away from Robonyan.
"I got you now. Target locked." Robonyan then shot off both rocket fists. Jibanyan jumped at the last second dodging both fists. The fists crashed into the Quaken battling Komasan allowing Komasan to land a couple more good blows and letting Jibanyan finish the lion off with a scratch. Quaken was defeated. Suddenly the other quaken's flames raged and the fire lion slammed their foot into the ground sending a powerful shockwave to head over to the weak Komajiro.
"Noooo." said Komasan jumping between the attack and Komajiro. Komasan took the full force of the blast but felt it was worth it to protect his brother.
"No Komasan." said Komajiro. Komasan coughed a little bit but said, "I'm fine let's do this."
"Nyah!" said Jibanyan as he finished the other Quaken, "Woo I feel alive."
"Um Whisper, what's happening to Jibanyan?" asked Nate.
"Well you see Nate the reason why Quaken's last attack was so powerful is Quaken's ability causes them to become stronger when an ally is defeated while Jibanyan's here does the opposite he gains power when he defeats an enemy." explained Whisper.
"Oh yeah." said Nate. Komasan and Komajiro then shot Robonyan down by hitting Robonyan with both a blast of fire and a bolt of lightning. Jibanyan then finished the robot off with a couple more punches. The Robot yo-kai was defeated.
"Good job you three." said Whisper.
"Yeah you guys were amazing." said Nate.
"I feel so good." said Jibanyan.
"I guess that's what I saw." said Komajiro.
"Yeah so now let's go take down that bully." said Komasan. The five then ran off to the other end of the building where there was an opening on the edge by that point was a blue glowing eye.
"Oh it's an eyepo." said Nate.
"Ah perfect this means you can be fully energized before your fight with Kyubi." said Whisper.
"Ah yeah I love this guy." said Jibanyan. The three yo-kai then healed themselves by Eyepo's flames.
"Oh and before I forget I wanted to give you these Komasan." said Whisper as he pulled out a ruby ring and a red charm, "This is a fire ring and a fire charm these will power up your fire attacks and up your defence against Kyubi's fire attacks."
Komasan took both and said, "Thanks so much Whisper."
Nate said, "That was kind of you Whisper."
"Oh it's the least I could do." said Whisper.
"Now let's get going my bro has a bully to deal with." said Komajiro.
The group of five were on the floor of the unfinished room where floating just outside the room was a nine-tailed fox yo-kai with yellow fur. The yo-kai turned to face them.
"Oh so you actually made it. Huh I didn't think you would actually come. Of course I can't exactly call it impressive especially since you had to bring your worthless friends." said Kyubi.
"Urhh!" growled Nate, Jibanyan, and Komajiro.
"That's enough you can insult me all ya like but don't you go insulting my friends and my brother." said Komasan.
"Oh so this little komainu thinks he can talk back to me." mocked Kyubi.
"Hmm, something's off here." said Whisper.
"What's up?" asked Nate.
"Something doesn't seem right with this Kyubi." said Whisper. Whisper got out his yo-kai pad and started scrolling.
"Hmm, oh I think I know, this Kyubi doesn't seem like a guardian." said Komajiro.
"What do you mean?" asked Nate.
"Well you see Nate it seems this Kyubi isn't a fully fledged guardian it seems he is still in-training or something either way this Kyubi is not a true guardian." said Whisper.
Jibanyan asked, "How do you knyow that?"
"Well me and my brother have special auras since we are guardians usually have a special bond to a place but this Kyubi here doesn't seem to emit that aura." said Komajiro.
"So that means this Kyubi is training under an older yo-kai to take over one day." said Whisper.
"Is that good?" asked Nate.
"Well yes because he is not a fully fledged guardian yet he will be a tad weaker than a guardian of a city though it won't help much since Kyubi is still incredibly strong." said Whisper.
"Hey my bro will take any advantage he can to win this." said Komajiro.
"So you think you can fight huh, well time to put you in your weak little place." said Kyubi as he conjured a ball of fire in his hand and then shot it at Komasan.
"Hiya." said Komasan blocking the red fireball with his own blue one. The two attacks were oddly enough matched which annoyed Kyubi. "Take this." Komasan then hit Kyubi with another ball of fire. Kyubi took the blow and was even more annoyed.
"Uhh you annoying pest, you are going down." said Kyubi before floating up a bit higher and then with a snap of his fingers a eruption of fire came out of the ground hitting Komasan with a powerful fire attack. Komasan recovered and then pelted Kyubi with fireballs.
Kyubi took each one with building rage he said, "Is that all you got here's what real fire looks like." Kyubi then summoned beam after beam of fire from the ground. Komasan learned to dodge and constantly move after the last attack just like he was taught.
Komasan taunted, "You can't hurt me if you can't hit me."
Kyubi said, "Just stay still won't you."
Komasan said, "Nope." And then he pelted Kyubi with a few more balls of blue fire. Kyubi still kept taking the blasts and became surrounded in smoke. He cleared the air with a wave of his tails but then he couldn't find Komasan.
"Come on out you little squirt fight me like a tough yo-kai." said Kyubi.
Komasan launched off part of the unfinished wall, "but I'm not tough, I'm charming!" said the white lion dog as he punched Kyubi right in the gut.
"Yah Komasan!" cheered Nate and Jibanyan.
"Komasan, Komasan he's our man if he can't beat Kyubi nobody can." cheered Whisper and Komajiro.
Kyubi muttered under his breath, "You'll pay for that." Kyubi then darted to Komasan and slapped Komasan with all nine of his tails slamming Komasan into a wall.
"No Komasan!" shouted Jibanyan and Komajiro.
"Come on Komasan you can keep going you got this." said Nate.
Komasan got up from that and said, "Don't worry I am still fighting." Komasan then hit Kyubi with another barrage of fireballs. Kyubi defended himself by wiping out his tails around him, knocking away some of the fireballs.
"Hey lookie here," said Komasan. Kyubi looked down below himself and there Komasan was. Komasan surrounded himself in a blue aura meaning he inspirited himself and then he seemed to spark it with a tiny flame. He shot up in the air uppercutting Kyubi and then kicking off his face. Komasan landed right in front of Kyubi.
Kyubi lost all composer from before and said, "That's it you pest." Kyubi then rushed over and smacked Komasan again with his tails and then blasted the lion-dog's body with fire. Komasan took both but survived though he was weakened.
Kyubi said, "You insufferable…" Kyubi then rushed to finish off Komasan with a punch but he burned his hand in the shielding aura that surrounded Komasan. "AHHH." Kyubi screeched as he pulled his hand back in pain.
Nate, Komajiro, Jibanyan, and Whisper all said, "Yeah Komasan, way to go."
"Take this." said Komasan, throwing a bigger ball of fire at a recovering Kyubi.
"This is taking longer than I ever expected, take this." said Kyubi as he summoned another blast of fire from the ground which Komasan dodged by flipping around though it wasn't that clean he did it.
"Hiya." said Komasan as he bounced off the wall again and kicked Kyubi in the chest fur. Kyubi recovered quickly and tried to tail slap Komasan but his tails were burned by the aura that surrounded Komasan. Komasan then hit the floating fox yo-kai with another massive fire blast.
"This is getting tiresome." said Kyubi. Kyubi then summoned multiple flame pillars from the ground yet they all missed as Komasan dodged. Kyubi then went after Komasan and tried a few punches and kicks but Komasan dodged them all.
"Okay time to end this." said Komasan. Komasan became surrounded by blue aura energy and focused. He closed his eyes and then slowly moved in a dance. They then flashed open as he did the final move, "Spirit Dance." Kyubi became surrounded by the wisps that trapped him in a circle. The flames spun around and around until they all crashed into Kyubi causing an explosion.
"Yeah Komasan!" Nate, Komajiro, and Jibanyan cheered but Komasan still looked ahead with a tired grim look.
Whisper shared this grim expression, "It's not over." Kyubi emerged from the smoke positioning himself after the attack.
"That was pathetic." said Kyubi though he did look fatigued, "Now to finish you." Kyubi moved both his hands and snapped them both. Komasan was then hit by twin blasts of fire from the ground and then more and more followed Komasan was hit by nine different beams of fire from the ground and to make sure he was down for the count Kyubi rushed over and slammed his knee into Komasan's face and then smacked him again with his tail. The fox then flew up higher and said, "Ah that's that and what I expected from a pathetic little komainu. I guess all that support you received from your weak friends went down the drain. What use could they be to you anyway. I mean first you have a generic looking white blob who is a sorry excuse for a yo-kai, a sad, weak, Nekomata who is utterly useless, then you do have a human friend which normally I would say is odd but this just seems like your average ten year-old kid nothing special about him, finally you have your loser brother who seems to be just as weak and pathetic as you are." Komasan was down but hearing all those things caused something to break inside. He was truly defeated.
"Hey don't talk about my brother like that. I have the coolest brother in the world and you just can't see that cause you're just a big bully." shouted Komajiro.
"Yeah Komasan is the kinydest yo-kai you'll ever meet, he's one of the bestest friends you could ever have." said Jibanyan.
"Yes he is one of the most honorable yo-kai I have ever met. There is no one else who is willing to help a friend in need like Komasan." said Whisper.
"Komasan is one of my best yo-kai friends only behind Jibanyan really." Whisper fell to the floor sad at that, "He is the best soul you'll ever meet and I bet you're just jealous you don't have friends like Komasan." Komasan then came back he was reminded why he needed to fight in the first place. The exporb in his bag broke and leaked energy.
"Um that was a bit cliche Nyate." said Jibanyan.
"Really but it's probably true." said Nate, "Either way Komasan is ten times the yo-kai you'll ever be Kyubi."
"Haha who needs friends when you have hearts." said Kyubi.
"Hearts?" asked Nate
"Either way you are all still weak losers," said Kyubi.
Just then a spiral of light came from where Komasan was.

All five others were surprised by the sudden appearance of the new yo-kai. This Yo-kai was bigger and taller than Komasan, his body blazed with fire on his wrists, ankles and even his tail flames burned brighter. He looked more serious than Komasan too. Even his voice was slightly deeper and more serious.
"Like I said you can mess with me all you want Kyubi but don't you dare mess with my friends and my little brother!" said Komane.
Jibanyan asked, "Did he just evolve?!"
Whisper said, "I think so." as he scrolled on his yo-kai pad.
"So who is he now?" asked Nate.
Komajiro cheered, "Yeah bro bro you evolved that's so cool!"
"Ah I have it this is Komane. Due to all his training he now has grown very strong. He is now a very powerful yo-kai almost as strong as Kyubi now." explained Whisper.
Jibanyan said, "Woah that's powerful."
"Yes though he still isn't even in power." said Whisper.
"Hey you forget about me." said Komajiro.
"Oh right I forget you and Komasan have an ability where you both become stronger if you are both close together and since Komane has the same ability still, he gets a power boost so they just might be even since Kyubi isn't a guardian yet." said Whisper.
"So you think a little transformation will help you beat me, well you're wrong no matter what form you take I will still beat you." said Kyubi. Kyubi then blasted Komane with a beam of fire from the ground. Komane took the blow with ease and then jumped to punch Kyubi dealing damage. Kyubi then tried to hit Komane with his tails but like before Komane guarded with his flame shield and then threw the big fireball at Kyubi dealing massive damage. Komane then pelted Kyubi relentlessly with balls of fire.
"Take this and this." said Kyubi. Kyubi then summoned flame pillar after flame pillar and threw fireball after fireball but Komane just kept dodging and dodging until he found the opening to say, "Hiya." and hit Kyubi with another blast of fire. Kyubi couldn't take much more of this; he was already tired from his battle with Komasan but Komane was a whole other beast. He had to finish this quickly; it was now or never.
"Urh this is over let's finish this." said Kyubi who was filled with rage and desperation. He raised one hand up high above his head and summoned all of his remaining power and formed a massive fireball.
"I agree let's end this." Komane became engulfed in blue energy like he was consumed by fire.
Kyubi unleashed his ultimate move, "Inferno!" Kyubi then sent the ball of fire toward Komane.
Komane unleashed his as well with a jump into the air, "Spirit Burst!" Komane's aura then quickly stormed away. They arced away from each other until the flames collided together to clash with Kyubi's ball of fire. The blue and red spheres of fire clashed in the center for a while each struggling to destroy the other. The clash was so powerful the average human eye could see the bright light. The people around town at night all saw it. Until the blue flames destroyed Kyubi's focused ball of fire and the rearced. The flames then met again, all of them hitting Kyubi at the same time causing another explosion only this time the floating fox watched with fear and dread as the flames hit. Kyubi then crashed to the ground defeated.
"Urhhh uhh, great I lost and now I can't even deal with that thing master wanted me to I'll be back." said Kyubi before he disappeared in a puff of smoke. Komane was then hugged on all sides by his friends
"Yeah you did great bro." said Komajiro who was at the front of the hug line.
"That was absolutely amazing you took down quite the powerful you-kai." said Whisper who hugged Komane's side.
"Yeah nyan you're the coolest." said Jibanyan.
"I am so proud of you Komasan-eh I mean Komane wow quite the power boost." said Nate.
"Yup I guess seeing you guys stand up for me helped me find my inner fighter." said Komane.
Then there was a loud crash, and then it sounded like something was coming but not from the unfinished build itself but from outside the building. There was thump after thump.
"Um what was that?" asked Nate. Komane, Jibanyan, and Komajiro all prepared to fight and got into fighting stances.
"Oh no I think it may have been the thing Kyubi was here to take care of." said Whisper.
"Well if he was here to take care of it then…" started Komajiro. A massive shadow then loomed over are five of them Jibanyan and Komajiro's faces turned to fear while Nate and Whisper's looks somehow became more terrified. Komane was the only one with a face of determination. The fight against Kyubi may have been hard but this next fight would be the toughest fight they had yet.
AN: So another cliffhanger, don't worry I will try to be quicker with this one and I felt like we needed another two part chapter besides this one was long enough the next one probably won't come even close to this one. I could have cut part of this and put it in the next one to make it more even but I couldn't find a good spot to cut it. I really didn't want this to be just training which I am sorry that took a lot of time up but I felt it was necessary plus a little look at how yo-kai train again interfusing the game mechanics into the anime style but a bit more vice verse this is sort of more like interfusing the anime into the game mechanics. Though that took most of the story I hope you guys liked the battles. The Robonyan one was not going to be the best since it was always going to take a back seat to the Kyubi one but the Robonyan thing will come back later. The Kyubi verse Komasan fight though was my master piece of battle Komasan puts together all of the battle techniques he learns and uses them to fight Kyubi. I have been planning this fight since chapter 17. Oh and Komasan evolving into Komane don't worry about that. I have some plans for that next chapter but I feel it was necessary to have him evolve to take on Kyubi. I just felt we needed to see him. I mean when you first play the game and watch the beginning song and you watch all the yo-kai unleash their soultimates it's just so cool.
