October 6th - The Floating Hospital - Long Island City, Queens.
Light invaded her eyes as she struggled to focus, her body felt heavy as she groaned. Her blinking eyes shifted as she saw the white ceiling of a hospital room, Cindy woke up in a jolt as she looked around the room to realize she indeed was in a hospital.
A torrent of memories flooded her head as the events she could remember set in. She was on a school trip to Long Island… at the Oscorp Industries Inc.
"A spider bit me? But, what happened?" She looked down as she noticed the hospital gown she was wearing, did that mean she got stripped down? Also, why does her chest feel heavier? She looked down and realized her breasts actually enlarged. "What the hell happened here?!"
A voice ranged out as the door opened and the doctor came in accompanied by her mother. Cindy's eyes widened as she saw the worried looks her mother had, this was serious for sure.
Nari Moon was the first to speak out as she went to her daughter's bedside. "When I got the call from the school, we came right away, did that happen?" Her mother's eyes told her everything, the poor woman was worried sick that she could barely sleep.
"Yeah, a spider bit me and next thing I know, I black out." Saying that out loud made Cindy feel less about herself, even if that was understandable to black out like that. But it still didn't sit well with her. "Doctor, do we have any exams we need to do?"
The doctor nodded as the procedures went on as needed, the only thing missing was the blood test. Cindy then held out her arm as the nurse prepared the needle.
"I'll need you to relax your arm." The nurse told her as she nodded. The needle poked her arm but it couldn't go in. "You're not relaxing…"
Cindy blinked, as she was relaxed. Maybe she thought she was, but was unconsciously tense? She took a breath as she relaxed the state of her arm even more.
The needle struggled a bit but it managed to pierce her arm to which the nurse couldn't help but say. "You got some thick skin, girl."
Cindy only kept herself quiet at that. Was it because of always staying on ice from Hockey practice?

Norman Osborn's hands trembled behind his back as he looked over the footage of the moment Cindy Moon was bitten by the genetically altered black widow. The girl would have been dead by a few hours if the venom was still just as effective despite the arachnid having been irradiated by the Promethium X powered beam.
Justin observed his boss stand there completely silent, almost as if the man had become a statue. Truly, it was starting to concern the assistant.
Central Park, Manhattan - New York
Strolling around Central Park was a regular activity to do in Manhattan, either jogging for daily exercises, for dates between couples or just to pass the time. Most people would come here and just enjoy the scenery.
Kazui on the other hand, wasn't so ecstatic about it with how much stuff was on his mind as of yet. A classmate of his got bit by a spider. Sure, he didn't know her very well, but he couldn't help but feel a wave of worry that his classmate was suffering.
'Should I see Cindy? She's a classmate and I don't know her that well, but even then, I just rushed in to help and she did get sent to a hospital, the least I can do is check if she's ok.' Kazui had a problem with not seeing things to the end, call it being nervous or anxious, it was definitely annoying at some points, it was one of the reasons he didn't quit the Basketball team right away. His mothers say he inherited that trait from his father. "Just hope she's fine." He mutters.
The Floating Hospital - Long Island, Queens
Cindy had changed from the hospital gown to her more usual clothes, although her shirt and pants felt… smaller, like her head entered but now her midriff was exposed and her shirt was just hugging her chest a lot more.
"Did I get a growth spurt? But… this late into puberty?" She knew a woman tended to go through puberty earlier than men and also finish before men as well, usually at sixteen for most girls. Of course her body would have its final touch ups later, but growth? That was a bit out of place. "Maybe the doctors can explain it…" After all, she was in the hospital already.
The lass made her way out of the bathroom as she looked for her mother and the doctor. But on her way there, the looks some people were giving her were starting to get uncomfortable as she passed by the hallway. Come on, these were her only clothes and if she wasn't mistaken she was pretty sure she could see a prostitute on the other side of the room… getting the same treatment.
'Assholes.' Is what she could only say to herself. Just as she sighed to herself she found her parents talking to the medics, good then. Maybe she's getting some answers at least.
"Mom!" Cindy announced as approached her mother and doctor before calmly turning to the medic. "Uh sir. May I know what happened while I was out?"
Her medic had bags under his eyes which she hadn't noticed before. She was so caught up with her mother that she didn't pay attention to anything else. "I'm sure you noticed by now but specifically you managed to grow 4 inches in height and you've increased 15 pounds as we tried to stabilize you."
Cindy didn't know what that meant as she simply looked with a confused expression. "What?"
The man paused for a moment before exchanging eye contact. "As I just said. You grew 4 inches in a single day, your body obviously burned up a lot of calories to allow the change. So you were very dehydrated at the start. If we let you by yourself you'd expect dizziness, anxiety, fainting even, along with even potential muscle spasms from what we've gathered."
Blinking, Cindy then nodded in acknowledgement as her mother and the doctor continued to talk, to which the girl simply sat at the waiting room to see what was on air and it was baseball.
"Well, another loss to the Mets… At least one thing is normal today." She remarked to herself as the Mets crowd in the room all dropped their heads again. She wondered if you were either naive or delusional whenever you announced that the Mets would win a game easily… Or you were lying or you rigged the game somehow. "Wonder if the New York Rangers are gonna catch a new win or the Islanders will pull out something."
At the Service Desk
"Glenn, could you find me some boxes at the storage? I think we are low on utensils." A black haired nurse came by as she called for one of the people at the desk. Glenn was a brown haired man with green eyes and had growing bags under them. "Also, you need to go get some sleep later. You shouldn't be doing so many shifts in a row." The nurse left a tray with blood samples on the desk as she addressed the blonde nurse beside Glenn. "Anyway, Rebecca. Could you take this to the lab and have them do an expression on this one? They're waiting. She's this tall, cute girl."
"Sure." The blonde nurse named Rebecca just shrugged as the black haired nurse went off. The blonde nurse then first went to grab a hold of a holder on the drawer so she could bring the vial.
As she had turned around and Glenn was busy with his job the two were unaware of a tall, bald man with a dark overcoat. The man quickly snatched the vial and replaced it with a different one before he quickly made his way to the exit.
Yoshinobu-Ryu Dojo - Queens Borough, Forest Hills
Kazui lunged forward as he thrust his wooden sword in a downward fashion, the strike aiming at Musashi's thigh. The blow was blocked by her left sword as she swung her arm to attack him.
The Orange Haired lad's eyes widened as he took a half back jump to bring his sword up as it clashed against Musashi's right slice. Just as that registered for both, Kazui attempted to kick the left sword but Musashi quickly responded by pointing the shinai up and pressing it against Kazui's chest.
He lost.
A small moment passed as both of them looked at each other before laughing a bit, the two dropped their weapons as Kazui placed a hand on Musashi's shoulder. "Admit it, I nearly had you." He remarks, tone still jovial and carefree.
Musashi threw her head back and placed a hand on her chest in a chuckle. "That nearly doesn't count." She shot him a mischievous look as she sat on the bench. "Besides, you did it better yesterday compared to now…" She then set a frown as her eyebrows furrowed. "Is something on your mind?"
The teenager blinked. "Well yeah. How did you notice?"
"You don't look focused, at all. It's kinda embarrassing if I let myself get beaten by you while you looked like you were looking at that new bike you saw a month ago."
Kazui's head tilted. "What?"
Musashi hummed. "You were looking like you wanted to be doing something, wanting it a lot but you know you couldn't because of some stupid reason? Granted, you didn't have a driver's license back then. So fair enough, but what about now?"
Kazui then looked down as he pondered on what to say, that was impressive, Musashi was always one to be noticing things like that, it helped a lot in training. "It's about a classmate from the field trip I told you about. Cindy Moon." Musashi nodded at that, he did talk about all that happened. "It's just that today I can't stop thinking about her, when I got her to hospital it didn't feel right that I left her and now I'm considering going there to check up on her. Like, you get what I mean?"
Blinking Musashi opened a very big smile that looked obscenely smug. "So you got a crush and you don't know how to tell her then!"
What.
No, that wasn't what he meant at all. Wait, why did she grab his head? "Don't worry about this, Kazui. You can count on dear Musashi to help you on your love deal~" She grinned as she suddenly brought his head to her quite notable G cup bust.
He was blushing crimson incredibly quickly now, the shade of red was quite easily similar to his mom's red hair as well. He attempted to struggle against her hold, as she was kinda suffocating him but to be honest he wasn't putting any effort to escape either.
Musashi grinned as she motorboated Kazui's head on her bountiful chest, not letting go at all.
Oscorp Genetics Lab - Oscorp Industries Complex, Long Island.
The red blood cells shifted around on the microscope's slide as Norman zoomed on them to observe through the usage of his computer. Shaw had only gotten the blood vial about a few hours ago, from what he overheard the blood wasn't tested yet, which meant that this was the freshest sample that he would get his hands on.
Justin was by his side as he conducted his studies on the blood sample. The blood belonged to a young girl named Cindy Moon. He knew who her parents were; a scientist, Nari Moon. She was considered for a place at Oscorp but Norman at the time didn't really have a place for her to work yet.
"Sir?" Norman heard Justin call as he was fidgeting around the lab with uncertainty. "What is going on with her sample? You've been observing it for some time now…"
"Do you know how long human cells take to divide, Justin?" Osborn asked as he diligently worked on routine algorithms to supervise the samples.
"Hm? Uh, yes? They take about a day or so." Justin stammeringly answered as Shaw huffed close by. "Then like, 10 to 15 hours, they divide again."
"Then tell me why." Norman looked back at Shaw and Justin with a morbid scowl on his face. "Why has cellular division been occurring in one?! One cell becomes two in an hour and by now there are 16 cells from just that original one."
Justin was flabbergasted at that. "Impossible…"
The red headed man looked back at his computer as he held his chin in thought. "Is this indicative of cellular degeneration or is this cellular production?" He then turned to Shaw. "Have you seen the girl?"
The bald man shook his head.
The blonde haired assistant fixed his tablet to look through files. "Right here, Shaw." Shaw turned his head to him as he flipped his tablet around to show the image of an Asian looking black haired lass. "This is the girl in question."
"I see then." The trench coat wearing man fixed his gaze on the young girl, searing her image on his mind.
Justin then asked. "Is her life in danger, sir?" Referring to Norman
"Yes."
"If the Hospital takes another sample—"
Osborn then cut him off. "They'll trace it back to Oscorp's lab. And this can set back the project. Potentially shut it down."
Justin then looked at the monitor showing her blood cells. "How long does she have before the effects turn malignant?"
"Not long." Came the response.
Justin's expression turned grim. "So, she'll be a hindrance—"
"Yes."
"So, no matter what happens, she's going to die?"
Norman then faces Shaw once more. "Shaw."
The bald man nods. "It will be taken care of, sir."
Kurosaki Household - Queens Borough, Forest Hills
The Orange Haired lad's eyes hazely looked up to the ceiling of his room as he attempted to write down on his notes. Musashi had given him some idea on what to do after she had smothered him with her breasts, where really all he had to do was show up to Cindy and just say he had helped out when she passed out, which Musashi said it wouldn't be much; just say you're checking in because you want to know if she's fine.
She looked pretty bad when she was sent there so of course he would wanna know if she feels better now.
"When she puts it that way, it really makes it seem easy." Now if only he could concentrate on his homework.
"What makes it seem easy?" A teasing voice made its way to his ears as Kazui almost jumped from his seat. Startled, he directed his vision to the window to see the owner.
The voice came from a beautiful young woman with black hair and hazel gold eyes with two cat ears on top of her head. Her attire consists of a black kimono, a yellow obi, a set of golden beads, and an ornately detailed headband. The kimono features a red interior and it is open at her shoulders, giving view to her large L Cup sized breasts.
Kazui's cheeks went a deep scarlet as he realized the woman's cleavage was even lower than usual as he was sure he could almost see her nipples.
Which in turn made the seemingly easy going woman to flash a grin on her face as she hopped inside the room, her breasts bouncing in the process. "Could you care to tell me who you were talking about, nya~?" The Nekomata said as she gave a playful tilt of her head with a slow blink.
Kazui on the other hand simply had to turn his head to the side from embarrassment. "Mom — I mean…" The boy quickly stumbled upon his words and attempted to compose himself in front of the beauty.
"Fuufufufu… Don't worry, Kazui. You can just call me by my name, you know?" Kuroka joyfully snickered as she looked around his room. "Your room is pretty clean. That's good."
Was that a way for her to change the subject? If so, not the best but he could appreciate it. "Thanks… I finished it before I began doing my homework." At the mention of homework Kuroka set her gaze to his table where his notebook was.
"I see, so you're doing well." The cat woman turned to the computer next to the notebook, Kazui's monitor's wallpaper was that of a photo he and his mom took at a Comic-Con. "I remember how excited you were for that convention."
And now the blush was back. "I-I…"
Kuroka simply stifled her chuckle. "You were so adorable that day. Now you're definitely a ladies man from what I heard. So, how are things between you and Okita? There's other two girls, right?" Kuroka pressed as she got close to Kazui, her humongous breasts almost touching his chest.
Steam was almost coming out of Kazui's ears as he tried to think of ways to change the subject. "C-Can — Can we talk about something else?"
Blinking, the cat woman smirked as she pulled back from Kazui. "Well, I suppose teasing you, while fun, isn't the sole reason I came back."
"Came back?" Kazui seemed almost disappointed at that. "So you're staying?"
"Of course I am staying, silly!" Kuroka ruffled his hair as she held her hips in question. "Especially when I wanted to see my favorite person in this household."
Scratching the back of his head Kazui looked back at her in her eyes. "Well, that's nice." He avoided the comment of seeing her favorite person, which was referring to him.
"That's nice, but do you mind getting off him? You're going to suffocate the poor boy with how close you are… "
Kazui and Kuroka turned their gaze to the direction of the sweet, nuzzling, motherly voice. It was Yasaka. She wore a traditional shrine maiden attire, which consisted of a pair of red hakama, a white kosode, and a red hair ribbon.
"Is that so?" Kuroka lowered her tone somewhat, her face shifted more narrowly as she voiced her disappointment.
Yasaka didn't seem to care, having closed her eyes as she showed a warm smile. ''Afraid so. But since you're here, I may as well make food for one more. You don't mind helping, do you?"
Kuroka sighed before taking her steps to leave Kazui's room. "Very well then." she said, as she placed her hands on her hips before leaving his room.
"Well what are you sitting around for?" Kazui snapped out of his stupor as he looked at the blond haired beauty. "Breakfast is ready. Hurry up before your food gets cold."
Kazui nodded his head as he got up from his chair. "Yes, ma'am." He says as he quickly makes his way to the dining room.
The dining room of the Kurosaki Household was fitting for a man with many wives. The table was absurdly long and spacious for the many people that were sitting by it.
Which of course as Kazui got there were present only his mothers and sister. Well, step sister, also being Yasaka's daughter, but who voices it like that? Either way, that wasn't important, nor the fact that Kunou was wearing a lower cut shirt that day, showing off a more abundant amount of cleavage.
What was important was what he could do for Cindy, since he was anxious about things.
"Kazui. What's on your mind? You haven't eaten yet." Akeno's voice brought him out of his musings immediately, blinking, he noticed that actually made a scene with how deep in thought he was.
With his head slumped down the youth sighed under his breath. "Sorry, I was just… anxious about what happened on the field trip." He decided to be upfront about what it was. "A classmate got sent to the hospital and I kinda was thinking to myself if it would be ok if I went to visit her, if it wouldn't be a bother."
The women all blinked as though they were all trying to understand why he would even ask such a thing.
Rias Gremory simply gave him a side look. "Well, I don't see what the problem here would be aside from you thinking it would be wrong if you went there. Is there something to do with the hospital, the girl or yourself for you to hesitate?" The crimson haired King drank her cup as finished her plate.
Had he been spacing out that long? Nonetheless he replied, ''It's just… I'm not sure how to go about it. I mean, I barely know the girl, but I don't want to make it so… awkward."
"Is that all you're worried about?" Kazui looked to see his mother Koneko, to which Kazui made sure not to look at her low cut breasts just like her older sister. She's grown a lot over the past decade, her body having grown much taller and far more beautiful, having a voluptuous figure just like her sister. "Just bring the girl some flowers, tell her you sympathize with her situation, and then you can just leave. If the visiting hours aren't allowed, then just come back next time." The grown woman shrugged, and Kazui did his best not to look down. "It should be simple."
"Yeah, I guess I should…" Kazui sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.
"See, that wasn't so hard now, was it, Kazu?" Akeno replied in a teasing tone.
"Quit calling me that." Kazui mumbled. "I'm not a little kid anymore."
"You're right about not being little anymore." Akeno held a sly grin. "But you're still technically a kid, just wait till another year and I might consider stopping calling you that."
The Floating Hospital - October 3rd
Kazui made a nervous sigh, feeling his heart skip a beat as he walked down the hospital lane, both flowers and a small teddy in his hands. Why his mothers insisted on having these gifts was beyond him.
Kazui made his way to the reception. "Hi there." He greeted the Secretary behind the windows.
"Put down your health license card and I'll see what to do for you." The nurse nonchalantly replied as she didn't bother looking at the young man.
"Uh, no." Kazui replied. "I'm not here for my health, I'm just here to see someone."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"Well, no. Like I said I'm just here to visit a… friend. Cindy Moon. Can you tell me where she is? I swear I'm just here on a short visit." Kazui replied, feeling an odd sense of hostility.
"Fine. Let me look up." The nurse got up from her seat and went ahead to pull out a doc of files. Kazui waited for about half a minute before the nurse came back. "She's on the third floor, room 2C."
"Thank you." Kazui politely thanked the nurse before heading towards his destination.
If he didn't know any better, he would say the nurse seemed to be in a bad mood. Either it was the working hours taking a toll on her, or it was something else. Nevertheless, the young man went up to the elevators and ascended before stopping to the third floor. The elevator opened on its own, and Kazui stepped out before the doors closed themselves. He looked around to see where his classmate's room was, and it took him seconds to find it.
Kazui took a breath. Why was he so nervous about this? He didn't even know the girl for goodness sake. Just do what you came here to do and leave. It'll take less than a minute. With that said, Kazui knocked on the door. "Who is it?" He heard the girl's voice speak behind the closed doors.
Kazui swung the door open. "Hey there." His eyes casted towards his classmate, who laid on her bed, looking bored before she turned her head to face his direction.
"Kazui…?" Cindy seemed surprised by his entrance. "What are you doing here?"
"I… just came to see how my classmate was doing." Kazui answered with a heart warming smile. "I've been worried ever since that spider bit you, and well, I just wanted to give you these."
He gave her both the flowers and the teddy with a sign of "Get well soon" on its chest with a heart symbol. "I… you didn't have to give me these." Cindy remarked as she blushed, turning away to face him as the young man put them on a small table next to her.
"Maybe I didn't…But I felt like I had to." Kazui answered.
"I… well…" Kazui couldn't help but briefly glance down at her… endowed chest. Was it him or did they get bigger? He quickly looked at her face so as not to get caught. "Thanks I guess…" Cindy said, with a pout as she proceeded to grab the teddy bear and held it close to her chest. "But I'll get discharged soon. Doc said that I'm a whole lot better. So you can expect to…" Cindy stopped mid sentence as her eyes seemed to go wide.
A moment passed, and Kazui grew concerned. "Are you ok?" he asked.
"Y-Yeah…" Cindy replied with a small stammer. "Just a little headache."
Kazui seemed hesitant, but he complied, not wanting to bother her any further. "If you say so…" He put his hands in his pockets, unsure of what to talk about. It was then he noticed a TV standing in mid air, carried by equipment to help it hang like that. A certain program was running on this TV, one he was very familiar with. "Say, uh, is that Brazilian Avenue?"
Cindy gasped. "You know that show?!"
"Know it? Lady, I'm a fan of it."
"Did you know it got a new rerun?!"
"Yeah, I've heard about it since I got back home." Kazui replied with a smile full of excitement.
Finally, somebody who watched this show besides himself. For the next several minutes they spent geeking out about the series, such as their favorite moments, their least favorite, favorite character, the shipping, and etc.
But knowing that he shouldn't stay here for too long, he needed to go. "I don't wanna bother you too much, so I just came by to say a quick hello and that's it. I'll be seeing you at school." He said as he turned around to exit Cindy's room.
"Same to you, our favorite Tiger!" Cindy jokingly replied, making Kazui roll his eyes in amusement before closing the door.
Kazui took the elevator to go down, and as he waited for the lift, he received a phone message. Curious to see who it was, he was surprised to see Yuuma messaging him. The text said "Hello there~" as Kazui read it.
'Yuuma? What could she want?' Kazui thought as he heard the elevator reaching this level. The two of them had exchanged phone numbers after talking some more, finding they had more in common than they thought, so they wanted to talk more.
October 6th - The Floating Hospital - Nighttime
It was past 2 in the morning, and while most people around the globe would be sleeping, New York was known as a City That Never Sleeps, as residents were still active and due.
One such man made that clear as he climbed upstairs until he ended reaching the rooftop. All he had to do was lockpick, and it was just enough, as he was let in without so much as a fuss. Honestly, the security was completely embarrassing.
Shaw wore nothing but dark clothes and a ski mask to conceal his face so that his identity wouldn't be revealed. He lockpicked a closed door that swung open, now walking among the rooftops that was in front of the hospital. He split the jacket open, revealing weapons that were carefully placed, and he reached to grab a sniper rifle.
He placed himself against the dirty ground, the rifle in his hand put down as he made sure the bullets were locked and loaded. He already got a picture of what his target looked like, but now he needed to find what floor she was on, and what room.
Cindy's room
The young lass was having a peaceful slumber, alone and comfortable in her room. She laid on her back, her face resting on the side of her pillow. It seemed impossible to wake her up. She seemed to be having pleasant thoughts as well, as she was humming to herself without realizing it.
But then a warning signals in her head. No, it was more so her body was subconsciously sensing that something was wrong. A strong ring was beating inside her skull. Cindy was disturbed by this, it made her rise abruptly.
"What the…?" Cindy murmured, feeling some sort of a headache as she rubbed her temple.
Then it happened.
Glass shattered, and her body, reacting on pure instinct, moved out of the way by leaping towards the ceiling, sticking to it. It was only then and now that her brain registered what just occurred. "What the hell?!" Cindy cursed, sounding mortified that a bullet was shot at her.
Then something else occurred to her. She was sticking to the ceiling. It was not a metaphor. She was quite literally sticking to the ceiling, and she couldn't get away. "Wha… what the hell?! Hey! What's happening?!" Panic rose in the young girl's voice.
She tried all she could to get out, but it was like her entire body was magnetized. She couldn't get away. "What the… come on! Get out! I mean — get off already!" So many questions were rising in her head. She just woke up. She got shot at. And now she was stuck on a ceiling? What the fuck was happening?!
Using all her strength, the young girl got off the ceiling and fell down to her bed, only to end up rolling over and hitting the pavement. She was free alright… except some of the material was stuck in her hands and couldn't get them off, not to mention the dirty, dusty particles that fell.
"What the hell is…" A foreboding of danger occurred in her head. It was like a ring calling out that she was gonna get shot again. "Woah!" On instinct she cartwheeled out of the bullet's range, missing her completely.
The girl crawled on the floor, now scared for her life as she sensed she was in danger. Her breath was shallow, and her heartbeat was pounding loudly enough she could hear it in her ears.
Shaw clenched his jaw, not believing what was happening. He didn't understand this. How was it possible for the girl to get away from the bullets whilst asleep. It defied logic. She was supposed to be dead, yet here she was, dodging bullets at close range by using acrobatics and… sticking to walls?
Whatever it was, it was clear to the assassin that his time was up, and he definitely raised massive tension within the hospital and its staff. He had to get away from here, and fast.
Whether some of his gray hairs were from stress or the fact he was in his 40s he didn't really know but John could barely think much of it aside from the fact that if it was caused by stress he'd have more soon enough as continued to deal with Oscorp.
The complaint he filed was simply answered with the rebuttal that it was impossible for there to be any of Oscorp's involvement in regards to the hazardous readings found at the Hudson.
One could say that the waste was still there but it couldn't be due to a lack of electromagnetic reaction once most of the containers were retrieved 5 years ago thanks to an issued lawsuit back then.
"But if not Oscorp…then who?" His boat was already close to a recently rebuilt fishing spot. One that used to be visited by his grandfather decades ago. He once said he saw a large monster rise from the depths of it and tear apart the block as it came. "As if. No one would believe that type of fisherman story."
He had nothing against his grandfather, his story had some truth as extensive damage to the bridge was to the point there was no bridge anymore. He didn't get to see what the big deal was back then. With how bad the connection was with the horrid storm that month it was difficult to get any clear image on anything be it pictures due to the fog or the reception thanks to the lightning strikes burning the signal towers.
Heck, construction workers had to always work overtime to fix the damage caused by it.
It was easy to blame a monster for it. But really, just the craziest of weather. Speaking of the weather, he could tell it was gonna be a relatively cloudy day with how the clouds gathered, creating a fairly gloomy atmosphere if anything.
And since the sun wasn't bothering his vision he could spot a SUV in the distant harbor his boat was headed.
"I'm getting brought in for questioning by Oscorp, aren't I." He mumbled to himself as he saw no reason to fight, not like he could. As he approached the anchoring area he saw the men waiting for him and they clearly didn't seem that friendly. "Well… better hide my stuff first."
It was gonna be an eventful day.
Oscorp Tower, Norman's office
Norman sits in his chair, resting his elbows on his desk as he presses his fingers together, staring intently at the large sized screen that shows him Cindy Moon's blood cells. Next to the tv stood his trusted scientist Otto Octavius, and on the other side stood Daniel. Next to him stood Shaw, who had already reported his failed attempt at assassinating the girl. He's been listening the entire time to Otto's explanation about the teenager's current condition.
"—What I am saying is that the determination effects we witnessed the first time in Cindy's cells have, in Layman's terms, reversed themselves." Otto says.
"Are you trying to tell me that the girl will live?" Norman asks, not understanding just how this was possible.
"Precisely, not just that, but she's healthier than ever. Her metabolism has increased to that of an Olympic level athlete, and her condition has now stabilized." Otto answers.
"How is that possible?" Norman slightly raises his tone, not at all understanding just how someone could go from dying to staying alive. Some would call this a miracle, but Norman does not believe in such things. There had to be a scientific explanation for this.
"Well… this is just a theory, as I need more time to study her sample, but I believe when we first got the blood sample from Cindy Moon after she was bitten, the data pointed out to the subject living on borrowed time. Her cells were undergoing a form of metastasizing, almost similar to cancer and her overall biology was breaking down as a result. I did a comparison of that sample again and the data shows the reversal. From causing biology to self-destruct to now becoming enhanced. I believe this may have something to do with her growth." Otto theorizes.
"Meaning what exactly?" Norman isn't in the mood for dodging around the issue. He needs answers now.
"Right now the girl is at the age where the human body undergoes puberty. There is an influx of pheromones that the body produces and releases that weren't there at all in the body. Of course, the changes in the human body don't happen overnight, but biology is a relatively clean slate until such time the human body achieves maturity." Otto explains.
"So you're telling me… she's alive… because of puberty?" Though Norman sounds normal, his tone contained incredulity.
"If you think about it, it's not far out of reach. Prior to puberty, the human body is at its most cleanest both biologically and chemically, and because is still undergoing through the final stages of said puberty, her body has been fighting the 'disease' that's been killing her at first." Otto finishes his theory. ''Once again I must express that this is just a theory, though it's not far-fetched."
"I see…" Norman leans back on his chair, putting his fingers over his mouth in a thinking position. "Is there anything else you wish to provide?"
"Right now the only question remaining is if the OZ formula can work on adults. The purity of their immunity has been diluted." Otto adds.
"I see. You may leave now, doctor." Norman told his good doctor, and he did as asked.
Once Otto left, it was now Daniel's turn to speak up. "So… what now?"
"We need to repeat the same 'accident' that transformed dear into what she is today." Norman chimes in. ''And for that we need another specimen that's around her age or less to withstand the effects, and see if Otto's theory is correct." Norman explains.
"So does that mean no more bounty on that girl's head?" Shaw asks.
"Of course not." Norman scoffs. "You already told me what happened. Another stunt like that is far too dangerous to repeat, especially now that the girl will be on edge. At worst it'll be traced back to Oscorp, and that's the last thing I need."
"So… how exactly are we gonna take another teenager without anybody noticing?" Daniel asks, regarding the consequences.
"Let me think…" Norman tries to think. It could be anybody for all he cared, but personally he'd like if it was someone he was familiar with, it makes it easier that way.
It then dawns on him.
"Wait…" Norman makes a smile as he leans forward. "Justin, pull the list of volunteers that we have."
Daniel could not contain a confused look to his features. "The list of volunteers? But wouldn't such a thing be problematic to test on humans already?"
"We are trying to replicate the incident but it would be much easier to do it in a more controlled environment." His tone had no sway towards any emotion aside from the usual cold and solidness distinct from regular men, this was something Norman had built over time as he dealt with these types of arguments. Justin had just handed him the files containing the profiles for the volunteers, which Norman began quickly looking over. "Getting another teenager would prove difficult as we will not be able to schedule another field trip for the time being, suspicion is already in place so we must do with what we're given."
Daniel seemed back down from questioning. There really wasn't a good way to argue against it. He was admitting to a flaw and the lack of a good opportunity, and as such he was looking for a potential plan B.
"If teenagers are the prime candidates due to their pheromones being in a maturing state then perhaps a mostly matured candidate would be the next best subject?" His inquiry was not meant to be answered directly as he was most obviously talking to himself as he saw many fresh out of high school and currently attending college students attempting to earn their share. "Women tend to finish puberty earlier than men, even for late bloomers like Ms. Moon I'd assume. As such we need to see if such a process is not capable of happening to a male but also one that just finished said maturing process, in which case, our most likely apt candidates. Macdonald Gargan, Elaine Coll, Richard Deacon and Carl King."
As he looked into their profiles he began to understand the possibility of success between each choice. "Richard is the oldest, with MacDonald being the second oldest. Elaine is working on one of the armory schematics, so it'd bring us one step forward and two steps back; and I'd want preferably 3 steps forward."
Which left only Carl King, the part time guy. He just carried storage around, be it just utensils, cleaning products or the occasional snack. It was a good thing he was part time as he had heard complaints from staff that the guy was constantly rude and quite insecure of things.
With the amount of complaints Norman knew better that the prospect of giving superpowers to such a person was a bad one…But there was the off chance of nothing happening…Or him dying. It still meant he needed a backup in this case.
"How to reign in such an unpleasant person?" He wondered to himself as he rubbed his chin.
UCW Arena
Whether fake or real, the fact of the matter was that Wrestling was incredibly entertaining. Kazui, Okita, Musashi and Kunou all cheered for Crusher Hogan as he and Bonesaw unleashed a double clothesline at the Flying Dutchman.
"He should have known Hogan would not fight Bonesaw." Musashi grinned as the Dutchman had been sprung around like a sack of potatoes, his disoriented movements notable and obvious. "As I had told you three. Pay up." She held out her hand at the three, who merely deadpanned at the girl.
Musashi was always one for the money when she saw opportunities. And boy she did not let up when it came to Kazui. Which meant of course that the teen lost a couple of dollars in said bets…
Hogan had then taken the microphone from the announcer as Dutchman was carried away and Bonesaw hanged back in the corner. "MY NAME IS CRUSHER HOGAN! And I will crush your head like the pimple it is!" His infamous catchphrase made itself known to the public on the bleachers and the people at home watching TV.
"What-ever." A redhead in the crowd muttered as she chuckled. Kazui was sure she was heard because a lot soon followed, even Hogan smiled at her comeback before he folded his arms and stood back, letting the announcer speak once as he pulled out a stack of money from his pocket.
"ALRIGHT! Who here has what it takes to take on the Invincible Crusher! Who here has what it takes?" The announcer began as he waved around the prize money. "If you do – If you think you can take the crusher down – We have 5000 dollars for you! 5000 dollars for who can take down the crusher!"
The audience was cheering once more but soon we're all on edge to see who would take the challenge. Everyone was on the edge of their seats as they chatted with each other about going in or not.
"I gotta get me that bank, bro." The wall that was Kenneth stepped forward as he took off his jacket. No way he would pass up winning nearly a grand, and all he had to do was put down Crusher? Yeah, he wanted to take a swing at that. "Yo, I want in! Right here!"
Just as he came close to the ring the announcer stopped him. "No way, youngster. 21 and up. Sorry." The announcer said as he leaned on the ropes.
Kenneth was simply feeling bedazzled. "No way."
"Insurance Policies."
"That's a complete rip, man!" The strong lad pointed a finger at the announcer and Crusher. "You suck, Crusher!"
The announcer simply gave a small smirk at the kid's anger. "Get a driver's license and maybe we'll talk." With that the heavyweight student turned back, muttering about how much of a diss this was.
Back on his seat, Kazui simply laughed at the scene as it was a common thing to happen with Flash and the others. The face Kenneth made as he stomped back to his seat was hilarious though. Though he wouldn't be able to get a good shot for a photo, they all would probably laugh at it later either way, so Kazui just leaned back as the announcer called out once more to the crowd to no avail.
With nobody rising up to the challenge, the matches went on as usual before everyone left. The orange haired lad stretched himself as he and his two friends walked back to their home.
Musashi was the first to break the ice as they walked. "This weekend will be the female division matches, wonder if they'll issue the same challenge?" The silver haired girl noted as she could hide her excitement.
"You plan on entering?" Kazui asked as he put his hands behind his neck. "In that case who do you think it's gonna be?"
A knowing smirk made itself known to her face. "Well, whoever it is, I won't be going down without winning anything…" She declared, pumping her fist into the air. "Anyway, let's grab something to eat before heading home. How about a bunch of ramen and sushi?"
An apparent twitch to Kazui's eyebrow was clear. "Will you pay your portion this time?"
Musashi only made a popping sound. "Sure. Why else would I bet with you?"
"NOW THAT'S A DIRTY TRICK!"
His only response was her laughter.
"You want me to do what?"
"How to put this... Carl… Mr. Osborn is looking to do an impound project that could potentially revolutionize Oscorp Industries for the greater good." In one of the many hallways of Oscorp, Daniel was the one talking to Carl King, to convince him to repeat the accident that formed Cindy Moon. "It's an experiment we're doing, you could say we're repeating the very thing that created Captain America, and we're asking you to step up to be the better you tomorrow."
Carl set up another box on top of another, with an almost expressionless look on his face. "And?" he asked.
"I'm sorry?" Daniel was somewhat taken aback.
"Why the fuck are you asking me this? Don't you get something better to do than get in the way of my work?" Carl asked in annoyance.
"Uh, Carl…" He knew he'd be difficult, but who in their right mind would step down to be the next Captain America? It was preposterous. "We're not asking for much here—"
"Didn't you hear me?!" Carl raised his tone, his attention focused on the individual in front of him. ''You're in the way! You think I don't know how this place works?! Oh I bet that being Cawptan Amewhica sounds like a real fantasy come true, ain't it?!" He spoke the hero's name in utter mockery. "Don't bullshit me! For all I know I could turn into some freak accident! And waste all the money I've been earning!"
'That's what he's worried about?' Daniel thought incredulously. 'Nosy little brat.' Is what he wanted to say, but he kept his cool. "Carl, it's not what you think. We don't do stuff unless we make sure they're safe—"
"And again, why ask me of all people to be your guinea pig?!"
"Carl, if you can just not interrupt me…" Daniel put his hand in front. ''This project is unique. We're talking about the potential of the next super soldier at our command here. We're asking you because you're the youngest, and most importantly the healthiest of all our Oscorp employees your age."
"The fuck does that have to do with any of this?"
"I can't exactly tell you the full story, it's a bit complicated right now. But the procedure is quick and simple, not even a minute worth of waste. We just need a little time to make sure there aren't any negative backlashes. That's why we're asking you."
"I still don't see what's in it for me. Being the next Captain America? Get outta town. Isn't that guy a goody two shoes who saves lives or whatever? I'm sure most little sissies would want that, but I ain't that guy pal. I'm better than that. I don't do any of that kid stuff. And besides, wasn't Cap some accident that ended World War 2 or whatever?" Carl sneered.
"We're not asking you to be a 1:1 ratio here. If you don't want to be the next Captain America, isn't there something you want to achieve in your life?" Daniel pressed on. ''Fame? Recognition? Maybe get a woman you like?"
"Hm?" Carl's aura felt different. For a moment he began to ponder, as if considering it. "Well… now that you mention it… there is stuff that I want. You know what… I might just consider joining in on this little operation."
"Great!" Daniel clapped his hands with a smile on his face. It felt as though an eternity had passed. "Glad we could work this out, Carl. We promise you won't regret this."
"For your sake, it fucking better not."
"Right… we'll contact you again." Daniel turned around and began to walk away. An internal sigh escaped him. How could one brat be so stuck up in their own little world like that? Well, not that it mattered anymore. He was just glad he got his cooperation. Even if he didn't… there were other means of getting him to agree with this.
As Daniel strode around the building for the laboratory, he pondered on what would be the potential outcome. What if the brat did become a freak? Would they just put him down? The contract he would assign guaranteed that agreeing to the life risking procedure would relate to no backlash for Oscorp but even then.
Before he could continue he was dragged out of his musings by a group of security men.
"Sir." The black haired one started as Daniel nodded, allowing him to proceed. "We've investigated the man you told us about, and even asked him about it."
Daniel folded his arms. "And what have you found?"
One of the dark skinned guards went forward as he showed his phone. "The readings he studied…The claims are legitimate. There are radioactive signatures within the Hudson river but the thing we discover is that they don't lead to Oscorp. They lead to Manhattan…"
The look of confusion in Daniel's face was indescribable as he looked over the readings. These levels weren't just a simple waste disposal. No, it was a concentrated amount of radiation with even some small readings of copper to it. Too high to be traced to Oscorp, they do not use that amount.
"Sir?"
His hands twitching as he looked dumbfounded Daniel slowly handed the device back to the guard, finding his voice he coughed in recomposure. "I must bring this to Mr. Osborn's attention at once."
Phew… glad that's over with. Here is the second chapter of Dawn of Oblivious Future story, hope you enjoyed this one more.
So yeah, Cindy in this got bitten by the OZ serum Spider that bit Peter instead, however, this doesn't mean that a Spider-Man won't be around, you'll see what I mean later. Some of this was more or less inspired by the very early issues of the old Ultimate Spider-Man Comics.
As for the Household that Kazui lives in, yes, it's basically a mansion where many women and Kazui live there, would make sense for the others to live in such a huge place like that considering Rias' heritage. Especially with having to raise a child there.
As for the follows, favorites, and reviews, I thank most of you for being kind enough to give me this on the first chapter. I wasn't expecting to get as many as I did with Bleach & DxD story, even though I wanted to add way more. Now to reply to some of these…
To bankai777: I honestly have no clue whether Kazui will meet SHIELD agents, at least not as of now. He probably might considering this is a very large universe once Kazui starts being more active with his powers. He might not meet them right now, or he might, who knows.
To Vercingetorix Rex: It's wild how you provided zero reasons as to why it's bad, you just said it because reasons. I genuinely can't understand how this is an MC being forced in Issei's shoes… when the plot of this follows over 20 years or so Post DxD… please leave actual constructive criticism. And how is this even remotely forced?
This is to show I listen and follow everything that's being notified to me, so I tend to sometimes reply to reviews either in my AN or I PM you, depending what fits more, as I do follow what's being said.
So yeah, that's about all, I'll see you guys when I'm able to update again. Also, Merry Christmas to you all! Hope you spend time with your family and loved ones!
