Prologue

It was yet another bright summer day in the boiling isles, and Luz was walking back to the Owl House from Hexside.

When Luz got to the Owl House, she noticed that Hooty wasn't being the annoying house demon he normally was. He had a serious look on his face. "Umm, Hooty, what are you doing," asked Luz, who was really confused.

"Oh hiya, Luz, this package just came for you," said Hooty as he owl pelleted up a box with Luz's name on it. "Thank's," said Luz as she had a disgusted look on her face. She then proceeded to run into the Owl Houseas she tried to forget what she had just witnessed.

When Luz opened the box, she was shocked to see what was inside. Inside was a copy of Mortal Kombat 2011. This was is what she had always wanted since she had found out about the Mortal Kombat series.

"This is the best day of my life," said Luz as she started squealing like she was a little girl. As Eda and King were wondering why Luz was squealing like that. "Luz, what the heck are you doing," said Eda. As Eda had opened the door to Luz's room, she was tackled by the human girl. "I got it, I got it," said Luz repeatedly as she shook Eda.

"What did you get," said King to the human girl who was now jumping up and down. "You're now looking at the owner of the most violent fighting game on earth," said Luz as she held out the game. "Mortal Kombat," said Eda who was confused about the game itself. "What's it about?" asked King who was also confused. "It's a game where you fight to the death," explained Luz as she started to jump up and down again.

"We have to play it tomorrow," said Luz. "I don't know Luz, do you even have the thing to play it on," asked Eda who was now concerned that she wouldn't be able to play it until she got back to earth. "It's fine, Eda. The box came with the game console," said Luz, who showed Eda the console. "Okay, let's do it tomorrow because it's late, and I want to go to bed," said Eda as she pointed out that it was now nighttime. "Okay, Eda," said Luz.

The next day, Luz had invited Willow, Gus, Amity, Emira, and Edric to watch her play the game. "This is gonna be so cool, my first time watching the most violent human video game," said Gus, whose excitement was overwhelmed by that of Luz's. "I'm so excited guys," said Luz. as she put the game into the console.

"Let's see what they've got," said Willow as everyone got comfortable.
