A/N: Yo guys its Chaos and I'm back with another chapter apologies this took longer than I though
"EREN!" Both Mikasa and Armin yelled simultaneously. Asta saw Mikasa, Armin, Mina and Connie and gave a smile as he landed on the rooftop. Some of the cadets stepped back in caution and disbelief at the sight of a man with an odd appearance just floating down in front of them.
"This another one of your friends?" Asta asked although he already knew the answer when he saw a familiar girl with raven hair rush up to him and quickly snatched Eren's body away from him. Mikasa examined Eren's body and was relieved when she found him breathing and that there were no major injuries on his body, though she was confused on why his body was so warm.
Armin caught up with Mikasa and he was relieved to see that his best friend was still alive though he was left in a state of shock and confusion when he saw that both Eren's arm and leg were no longer missing from his body.
'What…how is this possible? I know I saw Eren's arm and leg get bitten off, even the clothing is missing from those limbs. Did…did he have something to do with this?' Armin thought to himself as he turned his head towards the ashen haired teen
The remaining cadets that had not seen Asta continued to stare at the ashen haired teen in shock and amazement. Hell even the normally stoic Annie Leonhart had a stunned expression plastered on her face. Asta for his part was not surprised why the cadets were looking at him with such expressions, he was about to say something until a familiar voice called out to him.
"I knew you would be back," Mina said, running up to Asta with a smile of relief on her face.
"Hehe obviously, no giants gonna make a meal out of me" Asta said with a grin on his face. They were then interrupted by the voice of Reiner.
"Who are you and where did you come from?" Reiner demanded putting his hand on his sword ready to attack the ashen haired teenager if he tried anything. Asta hearing that question for what seemed like the 4th time today gave an exasperated sigh but he answered nonetheless.
"*sign* My names Asta's, I'm from the Clover kingdom and I'm a magic knight" Asta answered although that answer left most of the cadets dumbfounded. The 2 other warriors continued to observe Asta analysing his features, body language and words. When they heard his answer it sounded like something a child would make up. They had never heard of a place called the Clover kingdom and a Magic knight sounds like something from a fictional book.
"A-are you serious right now?" Jean asked incredulously, slowly walking towards Asta and Mina being cautious with each step.
"Yep"
"You have magic, is that how you're able to fly?" Armin asked the ashen haired teen with some awe in his voice
"Yep" Asta simply answered
"Y-you guys aren't seriously believing this are you-"
"What other explanation is there?" Annie said interrupting Reiner "From what we have seen he definitely has some sort of power that allows him to fly and I'm assuming those encased titans are your doing correct?" Annie asked, pointing to the Titans with Asta nodding in confirmation. Upon hearing this many more of the cadets now seemed to have hope in their eyes looking like Asta as if we were some divine intervention that came to them in need. Reiner lowered his guard but kept an eye on their unexpected guest.
"Well whatever power you have I gotta admit, you couldn't have come at a better time. Do you think you think you could help us get to HQ" Jean asked the magic knight
"Sure it's no problem, you don't have to worry about the titans at all" Asta said, smiling. He then raised his hand knowing what type of magic to use right now.
"Wind magic: Heavenly wind arcs" Asta said as 6 small tornadoes made of wind would form in front of the cadets and take the form of boat-like structures that were big enough to hold dozens of people.
"Holy Moly!" Connie yelled out in shock as the remaining cadets shared the same sentiment.
"Oh my god, you really do have magic" Marco said in awe seeing the 6 boats made out of wind magic as both he and the everyone else walked towards the boats and made themselves comfortable. Despite not showing it the 3 warriors from Marley were very concerned, this ashen haired teenager had come out of nowhere and began showing strange abilities that could cause some major problems in their plans.
"Ok looks like everyone is ready, so where is your HQ anyways?" Asta asked
"It's that big building over there to your right" Jean said pointing to their HQ "We can't take the door considering there would probably be Titans swarming the place so it's best if we make our entrance through the windows."
"Sounds like a plan then, just hold on and enjoy the view" Asta said as the boats made of wind magic lifted everyone in the air and began floating towards the cadets Headquarters. Asta did make sure not to move too fast so as to not scare them or for them to lose their balance, however that didn't seem to concern the cadets minds as they were currently in amazement that they were riding on a boat made of wind magic.
"Oh my god oh my god oh my god, we are really flying in the air!" Sasha voiced out in awe
"I'm really not dreaming am I?" Marco asked
"No Marco no you're not" Mina said giggling at the reactions of her friends as she then turned to look at Asta who also seemed to be chuckling at the reactions of the cadets as he continued to fly towards HQ.
As amazed as she was to see the incredible feats of Asta being performed in front of her, Annie saw some keen details as both her and everyone were floating through Trost. One of them being that most if not all of the Titans were encased in materials of either, Ice, Stone and Metal. She wasn't the only one that noticed this but the question plagued her mind on if he could easily trap all these pure Titans, why hasn't he killed them? Was it that he didn't want to? Or was his power incapable of landing lethal attacks also what other abilities could he do. She needed answers and she needed them now, she was sick and tired of this mission and wanted to go home already.
"You said your name was Asta correct?"
"Yep that's right" Asta said turning his head towards the stoic blond haired girl
"I have to ask…why did you decide to only trap those Titans instead of killing them. You seem to have no trouble engaging with the Titans, so why only resort to incapacitating them." Annie asked. This was a good question that had most of the cadets looking at the ashen haired teen anticipating what answer Asta would give.
"Hm, so you guys really don't know" Asta said almost signing in his response, upon hearing that most of the cadets raised their eyebrows in confusion on what he meant by that, however Bertholdt, Annie and Reiner couldn't help but have a bad feeling on what this stranger knew and what he was about to tell them.
"Know about what?" Armin asked, leaning in anticipation as so did the other cadets.
"Those giants that you call Titans…they're humans"
Silence, pure silence could be heard throughout the crowd as no one dared to say anything. Asta didn't need to look at everyone as expressions of shock, horror and disbelief spread across the young soldiers' faces, many of them thinking they must have heard the ashen haired teen wrong or thought that he was joking. But hearing the tone and seeing the look on Asta's face they knew that he was being dead serious. The silence surrounded the air for what felt like an eternity, until it was finally broken by the loud yells of the young soldiers.
"WHAAAAAAAAT!"
"I SAID THAT TITANS ARE HUMANS!" Asta yelled to the cadets
"We heard you the first time dammit!" Jean yelled annoyingly at Asta although he was still surprised and horrified by the revelation of Titans being humans.
"Y-y-you can't be serious c-can you?"
"T-this has to be some kind of joke?"
"All this time…we've been trying to kill humans?"
Most of the cadets continued to question the truth on what Titans are, they wanted to deny it, they wanted to think this was one sick joke or some kind of dream. However when a flying ashen haired teen saved their lives and showed supernatural feats that they consider impossible it was pretty hard to not to think that what Asta said may be anything but the truth.
The 3 warriors also weren't in ease of mind because this could make their job a lot harder. Now that Asta relieved that Titans are humans it could lead to them asking more questions such as 'how they were turned into humans?' and 'just where did they come from?', and if that were the case it could lead to them discovering Marley and preparing for a counter attack. Reiner glanced at Annie and Bertholdt for a brief second but they knew what Reiner was telling them. 'This boy needs to go'
Armin for his part was in complete disbelief at what Asta had just told them but then another thought had just crossword his mind when he released that Asta simply contained the man eating giants. He was about to ask the ashen haired teen another question but didn't get the chance when Asta's voice rang through.
"Well here we are, everyone!" Asta yelled out
They were removed from their thoughts when they saw that they were in front of one of the windows of HQ.
"Wait I just released it would have made more sense to brought you to the door of the building" Asta said out loud scratching the back of his head
"Well I guess It doesn't matter now we're already here" Jean said as he walked closer to the window.
*SMASH*
Came the sound of Jean breaking the window open with his equipment allowing the group within his own arc to enter. The remaining cadets did this as well, smashing the windows and entering the room.
"I almost can't believe it…we all made it to HQ without the lose of a single life" Armin said out loud
"Yeah and we did that all by riding on Magical wind," Connie added.
As everyone was settling into the room and was deciding what their next move would be Jean noticed people hiding under a table.
"Hey wait a minute, you're part of the supply unit aren't you?"
"Y-yeah" The boy of the supply unit answered, Asta could feel the Ki in Jean spike up in anger as he saw Jean pick up the boy by the collar and punched him in the face. Luckily Marco grabbed his friend, preventing him from attacking the boy.
"Jean wait, please calm down"
"These cowards, they abandoned us and left us to die there!" Jean yelled as the other cadets agreed with him.
"The Titans overflooded the supply area, there was nothing we could do!" A female member said with tears in her eyes, coming up to check on her male companion. Jean was about to yell something else until Asta's voice interrupted him.
"I understand why you did what you did, you didn't see any other way" Asta said
"But-"
"Look, it isn't fair to put all the blame on them if they had no way of actually getting to you, plus correct me if I'm wrong you guys didn't really have a plan to get to HQ unless I didn't arrive did you?" Asta asked, making most of the cadets look down in shame as they couldn't really deny what he said.
"*sign* that's all in the past now, what matters now is that we're all alive and well" Asta then turned to the 2 supply unit members and put his hands on their heads in a very comforting way. "It's alright now you guys are safe you don't have to worry about the Titans" The girl gave out a sob of relief while the boy looked at Asta with immense gratitude.
"You guys mentioned that there were Titans in the supply area, can you guys lead me to them"
"What?! Are you insane, you can't go there alone you'll die"
"It's fine, I'm pretty confident our new friend here is more than enough to take care of any Titan in front of him," Reiner said, crossing his arms as he stared at Asta. The boy of the supply unit didn't look convinced as he led Asta out of the room towards an elevator that goes down to the supply section.
"That Asta guy is really something" Connie said with with the remaining cadets nodding in agreement
"I'm just glad he came before things could have gotten really bad" Mina added. As Mikasa was still holding Eren she inwardly agreed with the girl seeing the feats Asta performed when he stopped that abnormal Titan from eating those civilians. She then turned towards Armin and he had a thoughtful look on his face still pondering on some questions he never got to ask.
"Is something wrong Armin?" Mikasa asked her other childhood friend
"Well…I'm wondering why did Asta leave those Titans alive?"
"What do mean Armin, Asta told us that the Titans… are humans" Mina slowly said, still finding it hard to believe that the creatures they have been told are mindless monsters have actually been people this whole time.
"Yeah I know but why specially keep them alive?" Armin asked making some of them confused on what he was getting at but other were understanding what he was trying to say
"Are you trying to say that you think our friend can turn Titans back into humans?" Reiner asked incredulously, upon hearing what Reiner said many of the cadets began to whisper to themselves wondering if that was even possible.
"There is a chance he didn't kill those Titans because he didn't want to kill humans. I won't pretend like a know the guy from the brief interaction he doesn't seem like the murderous type" Jean added
"I was thinking that also but another reason why I think Asta has such a power…is because of Eren" Armin said looking at his friend who was still unconscious with Mikasa glancing at the shorter boy in nervousness and for an explanation.
"W-what?" Mikasa asked
"You see Mikasa…Eren shouldn't be alive right now. Earlier when me and my team went against the Titans, he had one of his legs bitten off. Then he got swallowed by a Titan losing his arm in the process."
Besides Armins squad Mikasa and the remaining cadets were left shocked at what the boy had just told them, Mikasa subconsciously held on to Eren tighter and was about to say something when Armin interrupted her.
"At first I thought I was hallucinating it when I saw Asta carry Eren alive with him, but the sleeve of his jacket and the leg of his pants were ripped, confirming that Eren should have been dead.
"No way" Sasha mumbled out
"You think that Asta guy was the one that fixed up Eren?" Connie asked
"I mean what other explanation could there be, he did just see him do things no human should be capable of doing" Armin added. More words were about to be said until Asta came out the door.
"It's done!" Asta yelled notifying them that all the Titans inside have been completely restrained. The cadets walked down to the supply room and were once again left amazed that the Titans were restrained by being encased in earth magic and steel magic.
"S-so the Titans won't be able to escape will they?" Marco nervously asked
"Course not, that's magic steel and earth. Its way stronger than the real thing" Asta said with Marco nodding
"You are just full of surprises" Mina said standing beside the ashen haired teen
"Hehehe, trust me you haven't see anything ye–" Asta stopped mid sentence as he just remembered something important.
"Oh man, I forgot something!" Asta yelled, flying to a back door and making his way out of the building. Asta flew towards the wall where he left the unconscious humans early. He noticed that they were all awake and a mixture of anxious, relief and scared looks on their faces.
"W-where are we?"
"How did I get here?"
"What is this place?"
The questions of the once man eating giants voiced out. Asta slowly made his way to the group and upon seeing the flying ashen haired teenager they all had their eyes widened and jaws dropped.
"Can't say I'm surprised by their reactions" Asta thought to himself as he approach the stunned Eldians.
"Hey there I'm Asta" Asta said trying to break the tension, the group of Eldians didn't say anything at first until one of them pointed at him with a shaky voice.
"G-god…your god" One male Eldian with a white shirt and blue pants said as he continued to look at Asta with some awe and fear in his eyes. The remaining 3 people almost started to follow suit but Asta interrupted whatever they were about to say.
"*sign* look I'm not a god I just have magic" Asta signed out, he really wasn't used to this kind of attention regardless he needed to get the people to safety.
"Cotton Magic" Asta said, raising his hand and created a very thick rug made of cotton. This once again left the group stunned, seeing a layer of thick cotton came out of nowhere. The once again cementing their belief's that person in front of them was a god
"Hop on, I'll get you all to safety" The now turned humans were a bit hesitant but got on the cotton rug that was large enough to fit all of them. When they all sat down the cotton started levitating in the air once again surprising the group of Eldians. Asta was about to float to the direct where the remaining cadets were heading until he noticed that the gate was still destroyed that would allow the Titans to enter the city of Trost. Asta flew down to the gate and used glass magic to conceal the entrance, preventing any Titan from entering. Asta was unaware that a few of the garrison regime actually saw him do it though
'That should do it' Asta thought to himself
"E-em excuse me"
Asta turned to the person that called him, it was the woman of the group and she looked a bit nervous.
"Yeah what's up?"
"Are…are you the one that turned us back into humans?" She asked the question that was lingering on everyone's mind.
"Yep that was me" Asta replied
Upon hearing this everyone had tears of joy and gratitude in their eyes as they continued to thank the ashen haired boy for giving them another chance at life. Asta gave them a bright grin and told them it was alright. Asta and the Eldians flew for a couple of seconds until Asta finally saw some familiar faces.
"Hey guys!" Asta yelled out
Armin, Mina, Sasha and Connie turned to voice and saw Asta floating towards them with some people floating on cotton beside him.
"I'm so glad I found you guys, I need your help taking these people to safety"
"Sure that's no problem" Mina said while preparing his ODM gear. He and the rest weren't worried about the Titans considering most if not all of them were either killed or encased in some sort of magic. The recently turned humans were intrigued with the ODM gear that the scouts were using but they also had several questions they wanted to ask.
"Say, where are we?" One of the men asked
"Ummm, your in the Trost district" Armin answered
"Trost? I've never heard of that-" "...Wait are we in Paradis!?"
"If you think trying to survive against man eating monsters is paradise then yeah your heaven" Connie snorted as he, Asta and rest moved towards where the evacuated civilians would be. The 5 Eldians had more questions but they held their tongues.
The 5 Eldians were dropped off with Asta meeting with the other cadets that evacuated from the Trost district.
"Hmm, maybe you were right to trust in your little boyfriend Mina" Ymir teased as both her and Krista walked towards the group
"Y-Ymir, s-stop that h-he's not my boyfriend!" Mina denied with a heavy blush sporting on her face. Asta also gave a small blush but quickly shook by trying to change the topic.
"S-so what's the situation now?" Asta asked referring to the Titans and the soldiers
"Well most of the soldiers have evacuated from Trost and surprisingly there weren't as many casualties one would have expected. We also got word that the gate of Trost has been sealed up preventing any Titan from entering. I'm assuming you had something to do with it?" Ymir asked with Asta nodding
"Anyways considering the Titans aren't currently a threat now and that the gate has been sealed, we currently waiting for the Survey Corps to make a return so we can further plan what to do next" Ymir finished
"I see…is there you guys need help wi-" Asta didn't finish what he was saying because a loud voice cut him off.
"You there the one with the strange appearance!" A male garrison soldier yelled towards Asta. The ashen hair boy turned to the man with a confused look on his face.
"I have been ordered to escort you to Captain Kitz Woermann, come peacefully or we will use force" The man said as Asta noticed that several other garrison soldiers were behind him and they had their hands placed on their swords. Mina and the other cadets gave Asta anxious looks.
'*sign* Why do I have a bad feeling about this' Asta thought to himself mentally signing as he followed to where the soldiers were taking him
