September 2012, some new students have been enrolled at Ewen High School in Chamberlain, Maine, unbeknown to most of them, 5 of them are graduates from Miss Grimwood's Finishing School for Girls (Ghouls): Sibella (Daughter of Dracula), Winnie (Daughter of the Wolfman), Elsa, (Daughter of Frankenteen/Frankenstein), Phantasma (Daughter of the Phantom), & Tanis (Daughter of the Mummy).
As the Quintet get settled into their new school and home, they get many strange looks from most of their peers, especially a group of popular girls known as the Mortimer Snerds, led by Chris Hargensen. On day, The Ghouls see Chris and her Snerds picking on another girl: Carrie White, who they've heard is treated very badly by almost everyone around her, which the Ghouls don't take a liking to, and decide to step in and help Carrie, scaring and fending off Chris and the Snerds… Once Chris and the group leave, The Ghouls tend to the shy outcast, who Sibella seems to take a strong liking to…
