Hell, a dangerous land of fire and brimstone. Mountains of ash, lakes of magma. its residents living in towers made of obsidain, black buildings sitting amongst death and bleeding earth. Demons fly about, their daily tasks filled with boredom and repetition. Slimes and bats that grew accustomed to fiery life move amongst them, their movements wild and unjudged. Its been the same for thousands of years, untouched by life on the surface high above.
Its ready for a change, and a plan is unfolding amongst its deities. A threat looms over the world, one that can cause Armageddon.
There is a thunderous roar, demons and hellcreatures alike are startled. They scatter into their black homes, hiding in lava filled caves. A wall of flesh, one with needle like teeth and bloodshot eyes, rolls over the landscape, its appearance is enough to cause a human to die of shock. It slows to a stop, its massive size of moving blood and organs shrinks. The colossal king of the underworld changes his shape, his body glows, his form becoming one of a bipedal creature. Andrew takes steps on his hellstone throne, before sitting down. The demon king dons an olive shirt and light blue jeans, messing around with a green hat keeping his brown hair tucked on his head. This human face and shape is an exact copy of the first human he devoured all those years ago, when the world above was dominated by the creatures. That time was one with gunpowder weapons, gas run vehicles, electricity running massive cities, metal airplanes dominating the sky. But cults in the human society brought our wolrd into their, sending them back into the stone age, under new management.
He likes this form, more profiled than a moving wall of beating veins and flexing muscles. He shifts around in his seat.
"I guess its time." His voice sounds strange, he plays around with his throat, before placing two fingers to his head. Tal Calla Mo Tinkorfin.
A few minutes go by, Andrew stares up at the ash covered ceiling of the underworld, waiting patiently. He knows they wont make him wait long. The ground rumbles, another roar, one of scraping stone echoes in the hellscape. Overhead, a massive hand of bleached bone reaches over, grabbing onto the ground in front of Andrew, he doesn't flinch. An older god, one he looked up to in their old world greets himself in Andrew's throne, another arm and levitating skull floats in. Its cavernous eye sockets stare into Andrew's, its teeth are stuck in an eternal laughing frown. It bends its arms inward, shirking down, into a human form. An old man, with a long beard ad red hat, kneels before Andrew, his voice is gravely and aged.
"I have answered your summons, my lord."
Andrew smiles, taking his green hat off. "Herald, how has your little playground been?"
Herald returns the grin, his eye color changes to the hue of his clothes and hat.
"Very amusing, those humans seem very attracted to dungeons and unknown buildings, its always fun tearing them apart."
"Fun, huh?" Andrew looks past Herald, the clothier turns around. Vines grip onto the walls around them, a large flower of pink pedals and unseen teeth levitates in, changing its from into more of a feminine human. Celestia cools her face with her hands.
"Its always too hot here."
"Heh." Herald says amused.
"Strange for you to say, you're barely wearing anything."
The Dryad with slim vines for clothes smacks the skeleton god in disguise, but kneels in font of Andrew all the same.
"Ive answered your call, my lord."
Before Andrew can say anything in response, the ground rumbles once again. The ceiling above splits open, a long chain of corrupted monsters makes its way in. It changes before hitting the ground, a man in a blue getup lands stylishly on the hellstone floor.
"Im present, my lord."
The traveling merchant, Eladon, kneels next to the other two, everyone is here.
Andrew stands up from his throne, curious demons watch from outside the stained windows. The four gods are all here, now its time to get to business.
Andrew speaks up, embers glowing on his face.
"Now that we are all in attendance, I have some unhappy news, Cthulhu has awakened."
Herald loses the grin, Celestia's face darkens.
"Are you sure?"
Andrew feels like pacing, but it wont help.
"Yes, its seems the fallen god has risen once again, his body parts we scattered are being collected by a human cult, one that have gone unsupervised."
Eladon stands up.
"Then let us go destroy them, my lord, and finish off Cthulhu for good."
He turns to leave, Andrew's arm turns red, stretching out. A needle filled mouth grabs Eladon by the shoulder, yanking him back. Eladon is thrown to his knees, a gash in his shoulder. A small corrupted creature escapes, before his shoulder regenerates himself. Celestia's face opens, a plant mouth fans open. A sticky vine shoots out of a pink hole, catching the escaping man eater, before tugging it into the mouth. Celestia downs the squealing creature in one gulp, before the plant mouth recedes, stitching her face back together. Herald smacks Eladon on the back of the head, Eladon drops his head lower.
"I apologize, my lord, it was wrong of me to get carried away."
Andrew's arm changes its pigment to a more tan pink, before he sits back on his throne.
"You are forgiven Eladon, but I do have a request for all of you."
The three pledge themselves almost in unison, Andrew holds out his hand. His arm vibrates, before a small chunk of his real form spills out from his fingertips. Flesh piles up on the floor, something alive inside. The flesh splits open, a blood covered human spills out onto the floor. The human is male, with blonde hair and dark clothes. He's unconscious, and he has been for thousnads of years. He's one of the humans Andrew devoured, but decided not to assimilate.
Celestia perks up, line on her face split.
"Food?"
Herald grabs her face, stopping anything green from coming out.
"You gluttonous fool, listen to what our lord says first."
Andrew sucks the flesh back in.
"We need another god, to aid us."
Their minds come to a conclusion, Eladon is the first to speak in protest.
"My lord, surely you dont want this creature to become something more than a scavenger."
Herald and Celestia exchange each other worried looks, but Andrew silences them all.
"It is a long shot, but i am getting weaker, us 4 wont be able to keep the lord of the stars and moons back again, not like last time."
None of them wan to say it, but this new world doesn't have magic like their previous one, they get weaker every day.
"This human lived on this planet for his whole life, he's used to the atmosphere and temperature, and we need his help."
Celestia looks down on the unconscious primate, clicking her tongue in disgust. But i can see it on her eyes, the same with the others, they agree.
"We will give him our blessing, and make him a weapon worthy of status of a god."
Celestia drags the unconscious human into the middle of the room, the four gods surround him. They hold out their hands, aiming it at him. Eladon speaks up.
"I give you the blessing of regeneration."
Glowing light emits form his hands, washing over the unmoving human.
Celestia.
"I give you the blessing of magic."
More light, turning blue in contact with the human's skin.
Herald.
"I give you the blessing of strength, and of space."
More light, turning purple and orange.
Finally, Andrew.
His voice distorts with power, the underworld rumbles.
"I give you the blessing of Immortality."
It throws the other gods off, but they don't stop him. They all sacrificed something.
Andrew procures a blade of living fire, Celestia does the same, her blade is green. Herald brings out one, its slim, with a blue hue. Eladon is last, holding out a dark purple sword, its edge pulsing black.
They all close their eyes, bolding the blades over the new god, particles from each blade break off, colliding with each other midair. Energy and magic spill out, circling the five gods. A blade begins to take shape, jagged evil energy making a purple blade, etched with a hollow insignia of their world. Its the opposite of Cthulhu's sun and moon, a blade of darkness of dungeons, jungles, corrupted caverns, the heart of the underworld. The Night's edge, a legendary blade. A god slayer.
The newly made sword pulsates with energy, it lowers onto the human's chest. The sword makes Andrew's skin crawl, but he shakes it off. Celestia and Eladon back up, Herald stres at the blade.
"This shouldn't exist."
Andrew nods. "Then we did good."
He picks up the human, holding the blade in his other hand. Compared to the human's weight, the sword is unreal in its weight, throwing Andrew off.
He teleports, sunlight attacks his eyes. The other three deities teleport behind him, watching with faces ranging from curiosity to hostility. Andrew lays the unconscious human on the floor, wiping the blood out of his hair and clothes. He lays night's edge next to him, before sitting down.
"You are all free to leave."
They don't budge, Celestia leans over Andrew's shoulder.
"What are you going to do?"
Andrew looks over the new god, smirking.
"A savior of our world needs to learn about it first, I'll stay with him."
"Then let us join you."
Andrew shuts them off.
"No, go back to your realms, we'll visit you eventually."
The three gods nod, before teleporting away. Andrew is left with the new guy, he looks around, waiting.
"I guess I'll get some mushrooms then." He stands up before, looking over the new god.
"I hope I made the right decision, I guess only time will tell."
Andrew walks away, leaving him behind. But his eyes open, pain flooding away from his face. He's been asleep for thousands of years, his voice comes out hoarse.
"H-Hello?"
