And once again, I try to stick up for someone else on this site and end up getting targeted, this time by some wacko who writes disgusting porno stories on this under multiple accounts? What the hell are the admins doing, letting some creep like this on this site when their stories are inappropriate? Seriously, I try to do the right thing and end up placing myself in the crosshairs of some weirdo. Am I cursed or something.
Anyway, I'm back with another chapter of my sports festival arc, but I think I might have made a mistake on the month it takes place. If I'm right, the sports festival was held in April and the internships started in May, meaning the USJ attack occurred in March, so I goofed.
Well, I think I'll keep the timeline I already have, considering I've got plenty of monsters for the ranger teams to fight, plus a bit more about Koragg's new wolf companion. Thank you KingKaiju for the idea.

Heroic Minds 007: I honestly haven't thought that far ahead to the School Festival, but I have been trying to think of an idea, especially when it comes to getting a certain little girl to smile. Humarise and the Hero Public Safety will not get their own ranger teams, especially Humarise. The Flea thing, that's a shout out to Mucha Lucha, a show from Kids WB back in the early 2000's. Also, I don't have any ideas about the hero license arc either.

Chapter 23: Calvary Battle
UA High School
March 8th, 2221
Stadium
"Grid your loins and prepare for your next test, students. Those of you at the top will suffer the most in the Calvary Battle, make no mistake. Of course, you'll be hearing a lot of here at UA, so do me a favor and show us exactly what it means to go Plus Ultra!" Midnight shouted through the microphone in her hands, her flog raised up high with her other hand. "Allow me to explain the rules. There is a fifteen-minute time limit, and each team is worth the total of it's members' points. The riders will wear a headband with that number around their foreheads. Opposing teams will try to grab as many headbands as they can before time runs out. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. The more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them. But don't fret, even if your headband gets stolen, you can keep playing until time runs out. Use your quirks in this cruel fight, but make a team fall on purpose and I'll slap you with a red card and you'll be disqualified!" she continued, then gave the students fifteen minutes to form teams.
In a flash, the students were already starting to search for teams while the rangers continued to watch from the stands, with Connor focusing his eyes on Izuku. 'This is bad. Given the number of points that he has, there won't be a lot of people who would want to team up with Midoriya. I know I would if I were taking part in the games but given the fact that I don't have a quirk, it would put the two of us at a disadvantage.' He thought to himself. 'And knowing people like Iida, Bakugo and Todoroki, they'll be gunning for the ten million points, especially Bakugo considering the checkered past the two of them have, he'll try to also hurt Izuku while he's at it. Damn it, why does this have to be so unfair?'
Field
Down in the field, said explosive boy was surrounded by Mina, Satou, and Aoyama. "Wait, remind me what your quirks are? And your names?" Bakugo asked the three, trying to hide the desperation in his voice as he had no idea what he was doing.
"Seriously!?" Mina shrieked, almost falling off her feet.
"We've been classmates for about a month, do you really not know our names?" Satou asked, but Bakugo ignored him.
"Yo! Bakugo! I was gonna try Todoroki, but he's already got his team!" Kirishima called out, jogging over to Bakugo while behind him, Shoto was discussing the strategy he devised with his team which currently consisted of Momo and Kaminari. "So hey, I think we should team up."
"Hey dumb hair." Bakugo said with a bored expression.
"My names Kirishima! And my hairs no different then yours!" Kirishima yelled, then calmed down. "So anyway, I feel like you're gonna want to be the rider. Which means you'll need a strong front horse that won't be hurt by your blasts. I'm your man." He said with a smirk and hardened his arm.
"I need someone with guts." Bakugo said, appearing somewhat interested.
"My quirk was made for this! I've got you covered!" Kirishima said with confidence, bashing his fists together. "Let's go charging into battle together. Ten Million, bring it." The last part got Bakugo's attention.
Bulk and Skull on the other hand had decided to team up with each other, as expected by Shinso, who was able to convinced two other students to join him, rather than using his quirk to brainwash them as he would have done if he wasn't trained by Villamax who encouraged him to compete with honor. "Four is better than three." Shinso told himself, glancing around while looking for a final teammate until his eyes fell on Ojiro. "Hey, Tails. Wanna join our team?" he asked.
Meanwhile, Izuku was in a panic. Practically everyone was teaming up with their classmates and avoiding him like the plague, something that made him think he was going to be disqualified for the lack of teammates. Thankfully for him, Ochako didn't care about the number of points she had, saying it was better to team up with people that you know and saying that if they ran away the whole time, they'd be safe. That lifted Midoriya's spirits, but they still needed more teammates. One such possible teammate was Iida, but like Connor thought, Iida also saw Izuku as a rival despite their friendship and joined up with Yaomomo and Kaminari as part of Todoroki's team. "It's like I thought, everyone's an enemy. I might be at the top, but I can't just play with my friends." the Quirk inheritor thought to himself.
To his and Ochako's surprise, a certain pink-haired dreadlock girl with steampunkish like goggles appeared behind him with a glint in her eyes. "TEAM UP WIT ME! PERSON IN FIRST PLACE!" Mei said enthusiastically.
"Wait! Aren't you Mei Hatsume from the support course? The one Connor told me about?" Izuku said in surprise.
"YES! And I want to use your standing to further my own goals!" Mei said.
"At least she's honest." Ochako said with a sweat drop.
"I'll team up with you. Being a part of the team with the guy who's got ten million points is bound to be the team that everyone's watching, and if that happens that means the major support companies will get a sneak peak of my super cute and big babies." Mei continued.
"Wait, babies?" Izuku asked with confusion while Mei continued to corner him, who then opened up a case.
"Us students in the support course develop the equipment that helps heroes deal with their quirks. I have a ton of babies, and I'm sure we'll find the one that will help you win." Mei said, completely ignoring Uraraka as she pulled out a certain backpack which appeared to be a jetpack. "I made this based on a certain hero's backpack while adding my own original twist to it. I take it this has caught your eyes?"
"This is the same as the backpack used by the Buster Hero, Air Jet! I love that guy! I even toured his agency once!" Izuku exclaimed, going total fanboy which seemed to ease Ochako a bit, but they still needed one more member for their team, and Izuku soon spotted them.
Stands
Back in the stands, Melissa's face was practically pale at how Mei was able to join up with a team, despite her 'enthusiasm' when it comes to her inventions. "Well, it looks like Mei was able to join a team. Honestly, sometimes that girl worries me, especially when it comes to talking with other people." The pink ranger said with a bead of sweat trickling down the back of her head.
"Is she that bad in social situations?" Anthony asked.
"You have no idea." Melissa answered. Just then, Connor's rang, catching her attention. "Is that Nejire?"
Connor pulled out his phone and checked the id. "No, it's Professor Kubota." Connor answered, then stood up. "I'll go take this in the hallway." He then walked up the stairs and into the hallway, then answered his phone. "What's up, Professor?"
"Ah, Connor-san, listen I've got a question to ask you, are you a fan of Top Gun and Macross?" Eikichi asked.
"Yes, why?" Connor asked.
Field
As Connor talked with the professor, the time limit to form teams had come to an end. "Time to get this party started!" Midnight announced over the loudspeaker, followed by the timer ringing.
"After fifteen minutes of forming teams and talking strategy, the thirteen teams are all lined up on the field!" Mic announced.
"There are certainly some interesting line ups." Aizawa commented.
Mei, Uraraka, Izuku, and Tokoyami had formed a team of four, with Tetsutesu, Ibara, Juzo Honenuki and Yosetsu Awase of Class-B forming the second four-person team. Bakugo, Mina, Sero and Kirishima also formed a team of four, as did Shoto, Iida, Momo and Kaminari, Toru, Kyoka, Rikido, and Koji formed the fifth, Monoma, Kosei Tsuburaba, Sen Kaibara, and Shihai Kuroiro formed the sixth four-person team.
The seventh four-person team consisted of Yuya, Nirenaki Shoda of Class-B, Shinso and Ojiro, the eighth team was comprised of Kendo, Reiko Yanagi, Setsuna, and Kinkoko Komori, formed the final four-person team.
Then there were the two three-person teams consisting of Tsu, Shoji and Laura who formed the first one and second one formed by Yui Kodi, Manga Fukidashi and Kojiro Bondo formed the second team.
Finally, there were the two person teams. Not surprisingly, Bulk and Skull had formed one of the teams, while Pony Tsunitori, the exchange student from Class-B had formed a team with Togaru Kamakiri and the last team was comprised of Shishida and Hiryu Rin, for a grand total of thirteen teams.
"Now, let's hear those battle cries! It's time for the Calvary Battle to begin! One final countdown! Three… Two… One! Begin!" Mic shouted as the second match began.
Just as predicted, all the other teams went gunning for Midoriya, eager to get the ten million points. "Attacking right out of the gate, not well advised." Tokoyami observed Dark Shadow already out as he, Ochako and Mei acted as Izuku's horses. "Care to explain your plan, Midoriya?"
"That's easy, run away!" Izuku answered, but Honenuki was quick to activate his quirk, turning the ground below the lead team into quicksand, slowly swallowing them up.
"We're sinking!" Ochako exclaimed in alarm.
"Hatsume, Uraraka! Turn your heads away now!" Izuku shouted. His two teammates shut their eyes as Izuku pressed a button, activating the jetpack on his back and sent them flying away, much to the shock of their competition. Jiro was quick to use her jacks to knock them out of the sky, but Tokoyami had Dark Shadow intercept the attack and counterattack.
"Dark Shadow, keep watch over our blind spot!" the bird headed teen told his sentient quirk, which gave him a thumbs up.
Stands
"That's awesome." TJ said, his eyes fixated on Tokoyami. "They were lacking in defense, but with Tokoyami's Dark Shadow, they make up for it with his omnidirectional mid-range defense! Now I see why Midoriya choose him."
"He sure knows how to pick teammates." Came the bubbly voice of a certain blue-haired girl.
"Woah! Nejire, where did you come from?" Lena asked in surprise.
"I wanted to watch the first years in person! Principle Nezu said it was alright, I mean I am a student." Nejire said with puffed cheeks, almost sound offended. She then looked around, looking for a certain someone. "By the way, where's Connor? I wanted to ask him something."
"He had to take a phone call." Melissa answered as Nejire sat down beside her and continued to watch the festival.
Field
Using her hover soles, Mei was able to slow their descent as they came in for a landing, after Uraraka made them weightless with her quirk, but Mei was more focused on what Izuku thought of her inventions. Toru's team was quick to go after them, but they had failed to notice that a certain insecure and obnoxious student had managed to swipe their headband. "Unbelievable! We're not even two minutes into the fight and it's already turned into a free-for-all! Fights over the head bands are breaking out all over! It seems that everyone is going after the second and fourth place teams instead! Not a bad strategy." Mic announced.
Shoji raced towards Midoriya and his team, using his multiple limbs to hide Tsu and Laura on his back. With Tsu's togue wrapped around her, Laura was launched towards Izuku, her claws extended and tried to loosen Izuku's headband, but Izuku was able to lean his body out of the way as Laura was pulled back into Shoji's arm tent, but not before she butted heads if Tetsutesu. "Is that even allowed?" he asked aloud.
"Judges say yes!" Midnight answered, as if she heard Izuku's question.
"Damn it! That hurt like hell, and I'm covered in steel. Wonder if this happens to anyone who eats iron?" the steel quirk user yelled, unaware that in another universe, said metal-muncher let out a loud sneeze.
"Is that Tsu in there!?" Ochako exclaimed, as she witnessed Tsu's tongue go back into the flesh tent. "Yep, it's her alright!"
"Team Karibuchi makes use of their overwhelming difference in sizes, turning them into a tank! That's the only kind of action you see here at the Sports Festival!" Mic roared over the speakers as once again, Midoriya pressed the button again, activating the jetpack and sending them flying, but they were intercepted by Bakugo who used his own quirk to propel himself through air with literal, explosive speed.
"DEKU! GIVE ME THOSE TEN MILLION POINTS!" he roared, but his attack was blocked by Dark Shadow, who knocked the explosive user out of the air, only for Sero to catch him with his tape.
"He separated from his horses! Is that even allowed?!" Mic asked over the loudspeaker as Sero reeled his tape back and brought Bakugo back, with Midnight declaring that since Bakugo's feet didn't touch the ground, he was still in the match.
Again, Uraraka used her quirk to assist in their landing, prompting Izuku to conclude that running through the air was no longer an option, and that the only way they would win the match was by relying on Uraraka and Tokoyami's quirks.
Stadium grounds
Even Eric, Wes and the newly recruited Lady Nagant were impressed with how the match was going. "I've got to admit, this year's festival is certainly more intense the previous festivals." Nagant said with a grin, wearing her newly modified Silver Guardian uniform, which allowed her to use her quirk without the risk of tearing her clothing. "Still, the fact that no one wanted to team up with that Izuku kid is surprising. You'd think that there would be more people who'd want to team up with him? If I was a gambling girl, and I'm not, I would have expected that Endeavor's kid, that engine kid and the creation user would have been on his team."
"Well, it's not surprising that everyone is going after the first-place team. They are good, and those flashy moves certainly make it fun to watch." Eric said, releasing the magazine of his handgun, checking the slide then reinserted the magazine and returned it to his holster, before turning to Wes. "Are you sure that it's a good idea to bring the rangers in on this case? That guy won't hold back, even if they are kids."
"We need all rangers on deck with this one, Eric. But I can't argue that this comes with a certain amount of risk. He's already killed plenty of heroes and wounded dozens more, we can't let him slip away from us." Wes answered, turning his attention back to the monitor as the match was nearing the eight-minute mark. "Still, it does seem that one person in Class-B has it out for the rangers and Class 1-A."
Field
The scores of the teams had soon changed as Neito Monama grabbed Bakugo's headband and had the nerve to even taunt the explosive quirk user. "Your class is too simple minded." He said smugly.
"He got us!" Mina exclaimed.
"What did you say!?" Bakugo roared at the Class-B student.
"It's just like Midnight said. Since it was the first game, it wouldn't make sense for them to cut as many of us right off the bat, would they? Assuming they'd keep forty-four people for the next stage, all we had to do was to stay within the middle ranks and observe the quirks and personalities of those who would be our rivals from the back. Only fools would obsess over winning the prelims, right?" he continued.
"You planned this as a class?" Bakugo growled.
"No, it was my plan and I found a few like minded classmates who agreed with me." Monoma said with a smug look, tying the headband around his throat while another team charged towards Bakugo's team. "Say, aren't you famous? For being attacked by that sludge villain last year? You'll have to tell me about it sometime and how if feels to be SURPASSED BY A BUNCH OF QUIRKLESS LOSERS!" Monoma finished with a mocking tone, which only seemed to infuriate Bakugo, who turned his attention from Izuku's team to Monoma's.
Izuku had to admit, that Class-B or rather Monoma's plan was rather ingenious, but he had a strong feeling that Kendo certainly didn't approve it, given how friendly she was prior to the USJ attack and how well she worked with him, Ochako, Melissa and Connor before his thoughts were interrupted as standing right before them, was Todoroki and his team. "And now we've reached the half-way point, folks! With the unexpected rise of Class B, it's anyone's game now, but who will wear the ten million points in the end?!" Mic announced as Todoroki had a determined look on his face, ready to grab the ten million points.
Angel Lake
On the other side of the world, Jinxer was searching for something. After Ghouligan, Trifire, Fireor and Magmavore were destroyed, Jinxer had noticed a strange fluctuation of demonic energy unlike anything he had ever seen before.
"Keep looking!" he shouted to the Batlings that had accompanied him. "It has to be around here somewhere!" he barked.
The Batlings continued to search for the source, moving rocks and debris until at last, they found the source. A large chunk of Magmavore's body, pulsating with energy and seemingly alive, while also as hot as molten rock. "What is this?" Jinxer pondered, adjusting his monocle for a better look at the object. "Search for more of these rocks! They are the source of power we seek!" he shouted. The Batlings were quick to obey and in no time, they had found several more of these rocks, then teleported back to the Skull Cavern, unaware that he had been watched, by a chimeric creature that a combination of two types of animals, ones with sharp claws and strength of a mighty cat.
U.A. Stadium.
"I'll be taking that headband now." Todoroki said, determined to take the ten million points and prove to himself and his father who was looking at him from the stands that he could win, using only the quirk he got from his mother. "Getting greedy, are we? You that desperate?" Todoroki asked his rival.
"The games only halfway over, there's no way we can stop now." Izuku said aloud, glancing back to the stands and was surprised to see that Connor wasn't watching. "I can't let him down." Izuku said with nerves of steel, his teammates running before Shoto could act.
"Now, Iida, forward." Shoto instructed, the engine quirk user who blasted forward after Team Midoriya, pulling his teammates with him as nearby Ibara's team took an increase in the rankings by taking Laura's headband. "Yaoyorozu, be ready to protect us." The half-and-half user told the creation user, who created a thick insulated sheet and a large spike.
"Uh, Deku, we might have a problem!" Ochako said, noticing the sparks coming from Kaminari as he began to charge up his just as the other teams started gunning towards them. "MAKE THAT A BIG PROBLEM!" she shouted.
"INDISCRIMINATE SHOCK! 1.3 MILLION VOLTS!" Kaminari shouted, electrocuting everyone on the field.
"KAMINARI!" Jiro said with electricity coursing through her body, while Tokoyami used Dark Shadow to defend against the electrical attack, but that was when Shoto used the spike and froze the other teams in place, allowing him to steal their points.
Yuya, Shoda, Shinso and Ojiro were able to escape their icy imprisonment, using Ojiro's tail to smash the ice, allowing them to grab Kendo's headband, which made the Class-B representative shout in anger.
Surprisingly, the only team that wasn't going for any points or was even targeted was Bulk and Skull. Bulk had expanded his entire body to the size of a large boulder which Skull was running on top of, rolling around the field. "Great plan, Bulky."
Tokoyami was able to use Dark Shadow to defend against the attack, but the shock caused the jetpack to malfunction. "BABY!" Mei shouted in panic. With only one boot propelling them, Izuku's team wasn't fast enough to escape from Todoroki and his teams pursuit. Dark Shadow attacked, but Momo was able to defend her teammates with a stone shield, pushing the opposing team to edge of the arena, forcing Izuku to formulate a plan to survive the assault.
"Unbelievable! Team Midoriya has been pushed to the edge of the arena. With only a minute left, Team Todoroki has cornered the lead team and is poised to take first place! Team Midoriya better think of something quick, or they'll be out of the games before the second round!" Mic announced.
"IZUKU!" came the voice of Connor, back in the stands and his hands on the railing. "YOU CAN DO IT! NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER! KEEEP ON FIGHTING! I KNOW YOU CAN WIN! I BELIEVE IN YOU!" the red ranger shouted at the top of his lungs.
Hearing his best friends voice, Izuku smiled and finally had an idea. "You three, run as fast as you can and turn to the left. I'm going to use the jetpack and fly over them." he told his teammates.
"ARE YOU CRAZY, MIDORIYA!? MY BABY DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH THRUST TO GET YOU OVER THOSE GUYS!" Mei shouted.
"Trust me!" Izuku exclaimed and hit the button on the jetpack, which sparked and coughed before activating and made Izuku fly through the air and to the left, much to Shoto's surprise while Izuku's team moved to the left as instructed and caught Izuku before he could touch the ground.
Meanwhile, Bakugo and his team confronted Monoma and his team with a head on attack, but Neito was able to evade Katsuki's attack and copied his quirk, blasting the latter back before copying Kirishima's attack and blocked the following explosion. "You really should learn to control your anger. It makes you predictable and easy to read. Then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from Class 1-A's resident delinquent." Monoma taunted as Team Kodi backed up Team Monoma, with Kojiro using his glue quirk to keep them from moving, further infuriating Bakugo.
"We have less than sixty seconds left." Iida said to his teammates, who were still trying to take the ten million points. "Everyone, brace yourselves! Hold on tight! Torque over… RECIPRO BURST!" in a flash, Iida sent his entire team flying towards Midoriya's team, allowing Shoto to grab the ten-million-point headband, changing the score.
"Unbelievable! Team Todoroki went at the speed of a formula one racer and grabbed the ten million points! What an unexpected upset and with just sixty seconds remaining!" Mic announced.
Skull Cavern
"Well, it looks like the green haired kid is out of the games. Shame, I was really routing for him to win the entire game." Rito said dejectedly. "Kids got some major power."
"It's not over yet." Ecliptor told the skeleton monster. "They may have lost the ten million points, but anything can happen, even with such little time left."
Stadium
1-A stands
The recoil from Tenya's super speed stalled his engines, leaving Todoroki's team immobile, but rather than go after the other headbands, Izuku and his team went into a mad dash to get their points back, channeling One For All into his body and charged towards Shoto, forcing the half and half user to ignite his flames in defense.
At the same time, Mina used her acid to free her team, who promptly went after Monoma's team. Bakugo leapt from his horses and flew towards Monoma, blasting through an invisible wall of air created by Kosei and grabbed two of Team Monoma's headbands and putting them back in third place. Other teams tried to capitalize on the chaos, but Monoma decided to protect their last headband and simply run out the clock.
"Man, things are getting really intense down there." Lena observed.
"It's like watching a train wreck. You can't take your eyes off it. All the quirks, the action, the game changes. Everyone's watching it and routing for one team or another." Anthony added.
"It's anyone's game now, but with zero points, there's no way for Izuku and his team to catch up." TJ said.
"I don't think so." Connor said, sitting right beside Nejire and his sister. "Izuku's not going to give up yet, he's not one to give up."
"You really have a lot of faith in him, don't you?" Nejire said with a smile.
"Well, staying with him and his mom when I was an exchange student told me a lot about him, who he is and what kind of hero he wants to be. So of course, I'm going to have faith in him." Connor answered, also with a smile on his face, then turned back to the game as the clock now showed fifteen seconds remained, and Bakugo's team grabbed his teams original headband from Monoma, blasting through yet another invisible wall created by Kosei while his 'teammates' if one could call them that helped him, but Bakugo was still unsatisfied and was determined to grab the points from Izuku and Shoto's points. "Of course, that doesn't mean I'm not worried about someone like Bakugo." He said with a sweet drop.
Stadium
Izuku sliced through Shoto's defense with his quirk, then used the opening to grab one of the headbands off Shoto's neck. "Got it!" the inheritor exclaimed.
"Uh, my eyes might be playing tricks on me, but that headband is only worth seventy points!" Mei exclaimed, which Izuku confirmed.
"DEKU!" Bakugo shouted as his team charged towards Izuku and Shoto's teams, the first of whom was about to make one final push, but before the final battle could be waged, the timer buzzed.
"That's it! Time's up!" Midnight announced. "And with that, the second round is over! Please give a big round of applause for our first-place team: Team Todoroki!"
The tension in the arena died down as the teams dismounted their horses. "Sorry, guys, I blew it. If only I could have kept a better grip on the ten million points, then we would have won." Izuku apologized.
"I should be the one apologizing, Midoriya." Tokoyami corrected. "I tried to grab the ten million points but failed." He then gestured to Dark Shadow who was holding a headband in his mouth. "It was around his neck, where his guard was weakest. We're still in the running and it's all thanks to your strategy."
Seeing that they were still running, Izuku cried tears of joy. His time in the sports festival wasn't over yet. But the games were just beginning.
And that's the second chapter of the Sports Festival Arc completed. Yeah, I know I cut out some material, but there was a lot to cover, and I don't think covering it all was in the cards.
So, it looks like the NASDA Professor asked Connor about an interest or two, what do they mean for the rangers?
But it seems that Jinxer has found something at the site of the battle of Angel Lake, something that's pulsating with evil and left behind by Magmavore? And it seems that someone was watching them, someone that has a lot to do with a tiger. What could this mean? Well, you'll have to wait and find out.
So, here's my plan. Once I finish the Sports festival, I'm going to be doing multiple chapters with the rangers fighting monsters and bringing in some new characters related to previous ranger teams, the appearance of the first of my new zords and the first dimensional adventure of the rangers.
