chapter 9 enjoy
Bakugo's head is a hurricane of emotions, especially after failing to get his provisional license, which is on top of what happened at I-Island. He's fixated on his rescue, which forced All Might Into retirement and forced him to back up Izuku in their battle against Wolfram.
When the sun sank below the horizon, Izuku and Bakugo aired their grievances in a classic spar.
They would have kept going if it wasn't for Toshinori breaking them up. He told Bakugo about his quirk and why he chose Izuku as his successor.
"Who else knows?" the walking explosion asked.
Current and former One for all traded looks before toshinori answered.
"Recovery girl, Nezu, Aizawa, and Yaoyorozu."
"How did she get wrapped up in this!"
"She was there when I made my offer to Midoriya before reverting to my natural state," Finally knowing the truth, the trio headed back to 1-A dorms.
Once they returned, Aizawa tied them up and put them in their place. They both got house arrest, Izuku two days and Bakugo Three days on top of cleaning the standard room.
"If you two had kept your quirks out of it, I would have let you off easily!"
The following day, they were the laughingstock of class 1-A.
"Deku!"
"What Kacchan?" He said, seeing his classmate at the dorm entrance.
"Fight me!"
"No, we're put on house arrest because of that!"
"You spar with Yaoyorozu, spar with me!"
"No quirks!"
"Fine by me," the two stood across from each other on the front lawn before bolting. Bakugo and Izuku trad blows going back and forth. It's nothing major since this is a sparring match.
This sparring match is seen by hidden cameras around campus to make sure students are on their best behavior.
Their fight reached Aizawa, and just as he was about to excuse himself to deal with him, the principal sent him a message.
"I'll handle this!"
When Principal Nezu finally reached the 1-A dorms, he saw the two lying on the grass, exhausted.
"Having fun, you two!" He said, scaring them greatly.
"He started it!" Izuku quickly accuses Bakugo of getting a tick of annoyance from a blonde-haired teen.
"You're welcome to continue if you don't use your quirks." He said, taking a seat on the dorm's front porch.
The two get back to their feet and continue where they left off. They go at it for another 20 minutes before calling it a day. Looking at the principal, he's already made himself a cup of tea.
"In case you're wondering, things will get worse before they get better after everything that's happened, especially what happened to All Might. You two, three, if you count Yaoyorozu, pushing yourselves to get stronger gives me peace of mind. I can only hope the rest of your classmates follow your example," he said with one last sip of his tea before leaving.
"So Yaoyorozu, you got a thing for her?" Bakugo said with a smirk. This threw Izuku off momentarily, Long enough for Bakugo to grab his arm and flip him over his head.
"That was a low blow!" He said, getting back to his feet.
"You should never let your guard down when in a fight. If you wait too long, someone might take her right from under your feet!"
"You're probably right on that one, Kacchan!" He said before striking him down with his depowered shoot style.
When school let out for the day, class 1-A noticed the two sitting on the front lawn breathing heavily. The two willed themselves back to their feet before going at it again.
Tenya ranted about how this got them in trouble once already and should stop.
"Principal Nezu gave us the all-clear!" Bakugo stated before blocking another of the Izuku strikes. Tenya is flabbergasted learning this.
"This gives him peace of mind," Izuku added.
After ten minutes, they took another break; just before the two continued, Momo, Kirishima, Tenya, and Ochaco showed up.
"Still got some gas in the tank?" The redhead said.
"Yeah, the two said in unison,"
Kirishima sparred with Bakugo and Momo with Ochaco. This allowed Izuku to work on his shoot style with Iida.
They continued for another hour before Izuku and Bakugo started their evening cleanup.
"Izuku, Bakugo," Momo said, getting their attention.
"Yeah, what do you want?" Bakugo said with disinterest.
"I made some copies of my notes so you don't fall behind!" She handed each of them a packet of papers.
"Thanks so much, Momo." Izuku went to work and went over everything she had written down.
"Thanks, Yaoyorozu," Bakugo said with a forced expression of gratitude.
"Besides the notes, what else have we missed?"
"I want to, but Aizawa made sure we didn't tell you to," she said as a single drop of sweat ran down her forehead.
Once house arrest ended, they learned of work studies and the restrictions on reputable agencies. Then, the big three of U.A. High showed up to answer their questions.
Togata proposed the idea of them all facing off against him and getting approval from Aizawa.
Togata took out one 1-A student after another, phasing through each attack. He goes after Izuku next, intending to show him what a third year is made of. Unfortunately for him, Izuku is ready to strike back. Izuku charged up his quirk, nailing the third year in the gut. He grabs him by the arm, flipping him over and slamming him to the ground, getting a smirk from Momo and Bakugo.
"I'll have to keep on my toes with you!" He said before phasing through the ground. He finished each of the remaining students, with Izuku standing last.
"I think I got the message across to all of you," he said before walking up to Izuku.
"That was a clever but risky tactic to wait till the last moment to counter Midoryia!"
"I can't take all the credit. I spar regularly with a couple of friends," he said, embarrassed.
Togata explained his quirk and all his hard work to master it.
"Wouldn't that mean you let Midoyia hit you earlier?" Ochaco asked.
"I made the mistake of underestimating him since he didn't react the same way you all did!" pink dusted Izuku's cheeks from the praise.
Izuku called Grand Tirino to secure a work-study that would only be sent to Toshinari.
The current holder of One for All sits in the common area, reviewing everything he has learned since getting accepted into the U.A.
His mind went to Momo when it came to work studies. He highly doubts she will get one not doing well in the sports festival and cast for shampoo commercials for her internship. This made him think he could convince whoever he studied under to allow Momo to join him.
About this time, the girls gathered nearby, chatting about work studies. Ending with who they might work for now that they have their provisional licenses.
Needing some fresh air, he leaves the dorm to take a walk. The last person he'd expect to encounter is the third-year Togata himself.
"Didn't think I'd run into you!" he said
"I needed some time to myself after everything that happened," he said, just as Izuku started to walk past him, only to get stopped by the upper-level students.
"I've wanted to see how skilled you are in combat."
"No quirks," he said with a sideways glance.
"Deal!" The two got into sparring form before trading blows. Like Togata expected, Izuku was no pushover. The fight ended with Togata securing victory.
