Chapter 22: The Vision of the Black Wolf

"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!?"

Amanda screamed as she aimed her wand at Elizabeth who just casually broke down the door. The purple-haired witch simply giggled and did not respond to the fiery-haired rebel as she turned around and used her magic to fix the door as if it had never broken.

Once the door was fixed, Elizabeth slowly walked up to the Green Team members who were ready to fire any spells they needed to.

"There is no need to be all tense," Elizabeth stated in a sickly sweet voice. "I just came here to say that I am not playing your little game anymore."

"W-what game?" Jasminka asked with a stuttering voice.

"Like I said before, I know you three have been spying on me since Akko was expelled and to be fair I was completely fine with it. But while I was studying with Lotte and Sucy the constant buzzing from that tiny contraption…"

Elizabeth rubbed the side of her right ear as she snarled, showcasing a few of her fangs.

"Was starting to give me a headache! Next time, be considerate!"

"What makes you think it was us that was spying on you?" Amanda questioned.

Elizabeth took out her right hand and showcased the small crushed spy bot.

"Who else in this academy is good with machines like your little silent friend over there?"

The dark eyes of Elizabeth flashed at Constanze who recoiled back in fright.

"T-that could be from anyone!" Amanda said as she tried to think of a perfect excuse. "Like…that girl, Amelia! She's always on her phone! Who knows she may be a pretty good mechanic or something…"

The room went quiet after Amanda was finished with a poor excuse for a lie. Constanze facepalmed while Jasminka stared at her friend with a mixture of confusion and disappointment.

Amanda shrugged defensively.

"I'm sorry guys! I'm not really all that good with coming up with lies on the spot!"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

"I'm not going to ask you again…"

In the span of a second, Elizabeth disappeared from where she stood and reappeared right in front of Amanda's face. The rebel witch panicked but still kept a firm grip on her wand.

"Leave. Me. The. Hell. Alone."

"O-or what…?"

"Or…"

Elizabeth leaned in and whispered directly into Amanda's ear.

"I will kill Lotte and Sucy…"

The moment those words left the purple-haired witch's mouth all the air in the room was sucked away. It became suffocating for all three girls as they stared in horror at the intruder who made such a bold declaration.

Amanda, Jasminka, and Constanze still knew nothing about the truth of Elizabeth being a vampire but regardless of whether she was a vampire, human, demon, or something else, they knew very well what was standing before them…

A dangerous person. A murder. Someone who would have no trouble snuffing the life of another if it had to be done for their convenience. The calm tone and the lifeless eyes of Elizabeth proved that fact alone. She was a danger to everyone in the room…and a danger to everyone in the academy.

While Jasminka and Constanze were too scared to do anything, Amanda was past the point of doing or saying nothing.

"Now you crossed the line…no, you flew past the line—bitch!"

Amanda pointed her wand directly at Elizabeth's face—ready to unleash the most dangerous spell she knew that would blow the flesh out of her head.

"F—"

SLICE!

But before Amanda could even get the first word of her spell out, something fell to the floor in front of her. The fiery-haired witch looked down to see four stubs covered in red liquid.

"W-what…?"

"A-AMANDA!"

Jasminka released a loud shout that Amanda had never heard her make in her entire life. The rebel looked down at the floor again to realize that along with the four stubs her wand was on the ground too.

"W-why is my wand…wait…"

Amanda looked at her hand…her right hand…which was missing her wand…and four fingers. All that was left was her pinky finger and thumb.

Realizing what had just happened, the burning pain of her missing body parts started to erupt like a volcano, and the blood from where the fingers used to be came bursting out.

Amanda fell to her knees and clutched her hand which was bleeding profusely. She grabbed her wounded limb and stared at it with horrific shock and disbelief.

Elizabeth then grabbed Amanda from under her chin and forced her to look up at her.

"Now are you understanding the situation you are in?"

Amanda's eyes were much darker and a bat-like wing appeared on the side of her head.

"MUROWA!"

Jasminka shouted her spell which hit Elizabeth square in the stomach. Constanze fired her blaster at Elizabeth too, throwing her back to the door.

Jasminka and Constanze knelt towards Amanda.

"Amanda—don't worry!" Jasminka said quickly. "Let's take you to the infirmary and—"

SLICE!

Jasminka's words were cut short as her head disappeared from her shoulders.

"H-huh…?"

Constanze and Amanda looked down at the ground in horror to see Jasminka's head rolling on the ground like a rubber ball. The two witches eyes were widened and they lost all the color in their faces.

"J-JASMINKA!"

"Now that wasn't nice~…"

The two remaining members of the Green Team turned to the front of the room where Elizabeth was standing. However, her body resembled that of a dark wolf with glowing purple eyes.

"W-what the hell!?"

Like the wind, the wolf that was Elizabeth zoomed passed Amanda and tackled Constanze. Amanda watched in horror as her small friend was screaming in pain while Elizabeth dug her fangs and claws into her body.

A minute later, Constanze eyes were lifeless while her entire stomach was opened with her intestines scattered across the floor.

The sight was enough to make Amanda regurgitate all her lunch and feel all the strength leave her body. She fell limp on the floor as she cried bitterly.

"W-why…why…"

Amanda choked in between her sobbing as she heard the footsteps of the dark wolf slowly walk up towards her. The last thing she saw was the same monster staring down at her with a sadistic smile.

"Good night, Amanda~…"

The fiery-haired witch closed her eyes as she anticipated her demise…but nothing happened.

"Huh?"

All of a sudden, Amanda's eyes adjusted and she saw the human form of Elizabeth in front of her. She had not transformed and was staring at her with her confident smile.

"Amanda? What's wrong?"

"H-huh!?"

Amanda backed away as she realized that Jasminka and Constanze were right and were by her side. The two witches looked at their friend with concern and confusion at her sudden panic. Amanda's face was riddled with sweat and she started to hyperventilate.

'W-what was all that!?' Amanda screamed inside her head. 'What did I just see!? Was that all an illusion? D-did Elizabeth…?'

"What's up with you, O'Neill?"

Amanda turned back to Elizabeth who was still in the same spot as before.

"Are you not going to do anything? I just threatened to kill your friends~…or are you really a coward who's all talk~?"

Amanda was angry to hear those words but she was smart enough to know it was simple bait. An excuse for Elizabeth to tear them apart.

'T-that's right…that illusion…it felt way too real…because it would have been real if I tried to attack her like that…'

Amanda gulped.

'No way…is it finally happening to me? Despite everything I've done to avoid it? No freakin' way…'

Elizabeth raised her eyebrow in confusion to Amanda's inaction.

"I guess…my warning got through to you? How boring. Well, I made my point clear. Don't interfere with me again."

After saying those words, Elizabeth left the room quietly. Constanze and Jasminka looked at Amanda who was still very shaken.

Jasminka was the first to speak.

"Amanda, what happened? D-did Elizabeth do to you?"

Amanda shook her head.

"She didn't do anything…it was me…it was me…"

As Elizabeth was walking away from the room she saw in the distance a small golden light. The vampire girl felt a strange presence and turned quickly to where the light came from.

But the moment her eyes landed on where the light was it vanished.

Elizabeth frowned and kept her hand on the hilt of her wand.

"Was…someone watching me just now?"
