Chapter 1
A Princess for a Friend
Hi my name is Urchin and i am a merboy or a merman if we would like to be more formal. I am 15 and i live under the sea in my cave house. I live alone as my parents passed away a long time ago. It does upset me at times and sometimes feel lonely but i have many friends under the sea unlike those so called friends Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp!.
They were not a good pair and i sound found that i was being sucked in to their lies and criminal activites. Unitl one day i met a red haired mermaid named Ariel and her friends Sebastian the crab and Flounder the flounder. Since then we have been on many adventures and have become great friends. I have a princess for a friend, how cool is that!.
I soon meet her father King Triton and eventually her six older sisters. I was afraid of the King at first but he turned out to be really nice!. Wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him through. He even called me "Young Merman" at one stage. I had never been called that before, i was honoured!. There was even a time that he called me "Son" when i gave him a father's day gift (Ariel's idea) even though he is not really my father. (little tear in my eye).
Pranking is my specialty particularlly on Ariel's sisters. They are so easy to prank!. There was this one time that i switched their make-up for same sized and look alike sea creatures. Man, i had never laughed so hard!. They were angry but soon forgave me and said that it was like having a rotten kid brother in the palace. I was happy to accept that!.
Whenever i hang out with Ariel, we always have fun adventures. Whenever i am with her, i just feel safe and get this warm fuzzy feeling inside of me. (BLUSHING).
The story i am about to tell you involves myself and Princess Ariel. I was finally hoping to confess my love for her until I began to notice her developing a curiosity for the world above much to her father's fury. She began to miss her singing rehearsals and started to collect human things from shunken ships and added them to her collection in a secret grotto.
I then soon find out that she had saved a human prince from drowning. Soon after that, she goes missing!. I soon fear the worse and for my fate when a punishment is about to occur until the King orders everyone in the kingdom to find her. Something inside of me was telling me that her presents was no longer in the ocean. After spending time with her before she goes missing i could sense her heart was lost to a human prince. My heart was beginning to break.
Had she found a way to become part of his world?.
If you decide to read my story, you will see how i coped losing my crush to a human. You will soon meet some famliar friends like Ariel's sisters, our deaf friend Gabriella & her interpreter Ollie, Flounder, Sebastian and King Triton who had summoned me to speak with him about Ariel's disappearances. Think he was rather hoping that i was the lucky merman in his daughers life!.
