Chapter 15

Day One

I continue to watch Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle. Scuttle was busy picking up things that we on the beach and telling Ariel that the first thing she had to do as a human was to dress like one. He managed to pick up all sorts of objects from old ship sails to rags to ropes. He then brings all the objects to Ariel who looked very excited.

She assisted the bird by grabbing the rags and old sails and wrapping it around her new human body. It still disgusted me to see her walking on two legs. I never really liked the way humans looked, probably because i have always known them to be evil, nausty and scary. I do hope that this prince whom Ariel is in love with is not like that and that he will treat her well. I know i would've...i start to fall asleep.

Suddenly am awoken! A nosie interupted my short snooze, i heard whistling and someone shout "Ta Da! A set of clothes! Day One has begun!". It appeared to have come from Scuttle. I rub my eyes to see that Ariel was now covered in the old ship sail, rags and robe looking very pleased with herself.

I never really knew what those things that humans used to cover themselves were called, i was even unsure as to why they needed to cover themselves. Was it to make themselves look nice or to protect or warm or dry?. I knew one thing for sure now that they are called clothes, just like under the sea when we dress oursleves in scarves, sashes & shirts and varieties of jewellery.

The sun was shining brightly and i was drying out again only this time i began to feel a strange stinging feeling on my shoulders and back. It was almost like a burning feeling. I tried to wipe of the burning feeling with my hands but as i placed them on my shoulders and back i felt them burn as well!. What is going on?. I look up towards the sun, was it the sun causing me to feel this sensation?. I was unable to take it anymore, so i dove back into the water.

As i hit the water, the coolness of the salty water felt ever so nice on my back and shoulders. They still stung a bit but no where near as bad as to when i in the suns light. I poke my head back up of the surface and notice that Ariel was looking out towards the sea. She looked concerned and worried. Could she have heard me making that splash i made as i dived into the ocean from the rock i was hiding on?.

I remained in the water but hid behind another rock not too far away. Soon i begin to hear another noise, it was a noise that i had heard before up here on the surface. It was a kind of woofing noise an odd one i thought. I look towards where Ariel was standing on the beach and she begins to run (i think its called running, that's something that humans do right?) on her new legs like she was being chased by something. Leaving Scuttle, Flounder and Sebastian at the rocks where they had orginally placed her.

Suddenly she was being chased by a funny furry looking human and it was the one making those woofing sounds. Scuttle, Sebastian and Flounder were all telling her to run off to safety but there was no way she could dive into the water for safety now.

Ariel now human had to think on her own and find a good hiding place!. She eventually comes across a rock and climbed on to it. The furry human was still making those sounds at her. She was scared and nervous. I felt for her and there was nothing i could do!. Her first day as a human and she is being chase by, by this thing!.

"MAX, MAX!" i suddenly hear another voice only this time it didn't sound so familiar. I watched as the furry human responsed to what sounded like a call and headed towards the shouting. Ariel didn't seem frighten but seemed more nervous and excited. A human had appeared!. Sebastian somehow hidden himself with in Ariel's new clothes, Flounder dove underwater to remain undirected and Scuttle flew away.

The human seemed to know this furry thing as he petted it and spoke to it like it was his pet. Human's must have pets too like we do but we didn't have furry looking ones. Ariel is still staring at him and smiling, the human finally then notices her. She then begins to play with her hair. I get nervous when the human gets closer to her but Ariel didn't seem to be scared. It was like she knew him, was this the prince whom she was in love with and who she had rescued the other day?.

I watched them talk to each other, well it was more like him speaking to her as she was unable to speak due to her voice now being kept by Ursula. She makes some moves and falls off the rock thankfully the human was there to catch her. My heart sunk when i saw how Ariel looked into his eyes. I always wished she would look inot my eyes like that but never did.

He stopped in slience as well before saying that she really must have been through something. If only he had known what just had happened in the last 12 hours or so. The human then assists her with her walking and begins to take her away. This worried me but Ariel didn't seem to mind. I saw that she looked back towards Flounder and Scuttle who had all returned and smiled indicating that everything is going to be alright. Sebastian must still be hiding in her clothes to keep track of her.

I see Scuttle and Flounder talking to each other before Scuttle flies off again and Flounder dives underwater. I decide that now is the time to swim off myself but i was eventually caught by Flounder. "Urchin? Wait!" I hear the little fish cry, i didn't ignore him this time "Flounder...". He catches up to me "Why did you leave? Have you been here all this time?" he asks, indeed i felt bad for leaving them on their own.

I answer him "I, i just needed to get away and yes i have been here the whole time and heard everything i cannot believe Ariel would do such a thing, making a deal with that, that sea witch!". Flounder looked down and sad "Sorry Flounder, i didn't mean to snap!" i say as i apologize to the little fish, "No its ok! I understand how you must be feeling, i heard what you whispered to Ariel...you love her don't you?" Flounder asks.

I nodded hearing someone or something ask if i loved her really made me feel upset, so i quickly change the subject. "So three days huh and this is Ariel's Day One as a human? Any idea where that human is taking her?" i ask Flounder "That human is the prince, his name is Eric and i think he is taking her to his land castle!" Flounder informs me. All i hope it that she will be safe and that no harm will get to her the next three days are going to be interesting.
