A 18 year old man holding onto a wooden staff was walking through a forest on the outskirts of Hargeon.
He had spent the last 7 years mastering the use of Air, Darkness, Earth, Electric, Fire, Ice, Light, Lightning, Sky, Thunder, Water, Wind and Wood Dragon Slayer Magic thus earning the title Dragon Slayer of Elements. All that time training made him a S-Class wizard as well.
He also happened to be a member of the strongest guild in Fiore, Fairy Tail.
Right now, he was scouting for new recruits to join the guild while also looking for the dragons that taught him his Fire and Sky Dragon Slayer magic, Master Igneel and Master Grandeeny.
'I wonder who will be open to it?' He asked himself.
Off in the distance, Kenshin saw a blonde-haired woman conversing with a merchant about Celestial Spirit Keys.
"Who is that?" Kenshin asked himself.
He elected to find out who she was.
Kenshin made his way over to her and called out.
"Excuse me!" He hollered.
She heard Kenshin shout and turned her head in his direction.
"Who are you supposed to be?" The young woman inquired.
"My name's Kenshin. I'm a member of the Fairy Tail guild and I'm currently looking for new recruits."
"Would you be interested in joining?" He asked.
"Uh, sure." She was a bit hesitant.
Before the offer could be accepted, they heard a commotion nearby.
"What was that?" Kenshin asked out loud.
"Do you want to find out." The blonde-haired woman turned to Kenshin.
"Let's do it." The two left to find out what was causing the commotion.
It had taken them a few minutes, but they found the source of the trouble.
A blue-haired man was surrounded by a group of women.
"Who's this guy?" Kenshin asked out loud.
"I have no idea." She narrowed her eyes.
"My name's Lucy, by the way." She introduced herself to Kenshin.
"Nice to meet you." Kenshin said back. "Hey, would you happen to know the whereabouts of the dragons that taught me my Fire and Sky Dragon Slayer magic?"
She shook her head. Lucy had never heard of the dragons he was referring to.
Lucy and Kenshin then focused on the current situation.
In the middle of the crowd was a man with dark blue hair wearing a black cloak with a white shirt and red pants.
"Ladies, please contain yourselves. There's no reason for you to get too rowdy." He struck a few poses making the women swoon with hearts in their eyes.
He then looked in Lucy's direction.
'He looked at me?!' Lucy held her hands to her chest. "What's going on? Why is my heart beating so fast. Is it because of him."
"Who are you?" Kenshin asked.
The man responds.
"Who am I? I'm Salamander. Surely you've heard of me." He did a few more poses.
Kenshin walked away and ignored him.
"Hey!"
"How dare you!"
"Apologize to Salamander!" The women attack Kenshin.
His staff then struck the ground blowing the women away. Lucy stared at the scene. She then began to understand what was going on.
"Ladies please. He probably didn't know. Here's my autograph." Salamander handed Kenshin a sheet of paper with his signature on it.
"Not interested." The women attack him again.
Salamander then prepares to leave. A spiral of purple flame formed beneath him.
"Sorry ladies, but I must be going now. I have business to attend to at the port. I'll be having a party on my boat tonight and you're all invited."
He flew off with all the women cheering for him before dispersing, probably preparing for the party tonight.
"Who was that fool?" Kenshin asked out loud, rubbing his head.
"He's a total scumbag." Lucy said, approaching him.
"Thanks for stepping in." She sighed in relief. "I'll treat you to lunch."
"That would be nice." Kenshin replied.
Lucy led him to the nearest diner.
"I'm considering accepting your offer to join Fairy Tail."
"Really." Kenshin looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Anyway, from the looks of it those women were under a charm spell." He continued. "I thought the council outlawed that magic though."
"They did." Lucy nodded.
"I'm heading back to let the others know what's going on." Kenshin got up and walked away from the table.
"See ya." Lucy waved at his retreating form.
Lucy went to a park, sitting on a bench and reading the latest issue of Sorcerer Weekly.
"Fairy Tail went overboard again." Lucy laughed. "Those guys are too much."
She turned the page and saw a white-haired woman posing. Her name is Mirajane, a mage from the Fairy Tail guild.
"Mirajane is so pretty. I definitely want to join Fairy Tail now. Where did Kenshin go?" Lucy asked herself.
"I can help you with that."
Lucy looked to her left and saw Salamander emerge from the bushes.
"I overheard you want to join Fairy Tail. I've been looking for you. I wanted to personally invite you to the party on my yacht tonight." He lifted his hand to show off his rings.
Lucy noticed it and called him out.
"Your charm ring isn't going to work on me. That spell's weakness is awareness. It won't work if the person knows it's in use."
"I figured you were a mage when I first saw you. You're still invited to my party, by the way."
Lucy got up and prepared to walk away.
"I have no intention of going to any party you're hosting. Besides you using illegal magic rubs me the wrong way."
"Can you blame me? A guy likes to feel popular at his own party, you know?"
"All you are is a creep. Goodbye." Lucy said, walking away.
"You want to join Fairy Tail." Lucy stopped and turned her head to look back at him.
"You've heard of the famous Salamander of Fairy Tail, right? Well, that's me." Salamander said with a smug expression.
"You're telling me you're Salamander of Fairy Tail." Lucy dropped her guard and a pink glow formed in her eyes.
"That's right. Come on over and make sure not to mention the charm ring. I'll put in a good word for you."
"I'll definitely be there!" Lucy cheered.
"That was easy. Well, I'll be off." Salamander said as he produced his purple flames and took off.
Shortly after he left, Lucy snapped out of her daze.
"I can't believe I fell for that." She cursed.
"Oh well. I'm going to join Fairy Tail, so it was worth it." Lucy walks off.
Later that evening...
The moon was visible in the sky. The townsfolk had settled in for the night, but the port was rather lively. By the edge of town, Kenshin rested against a wall.
"That food was good." Kenshin happily sighed.
He then noticed a ship leaving port.
"Hold on. I heard Salamander is hosting a party on that ship." A group of women were talking loudly nearby.
"Whoa, that's Salamander's boat isn't it?"
"Excuse me. Did you just say Salamander?" Kenshin questioned her.
"He's a super-famous wizard from the Fairy Tail guild."
"Fairy Tail." He whispered.
Kenshin decided to investigate the matter personally.
Meanwhile...
Salamander's ship was currently leaving port. Up on the deck, multiple tables were set out and women were mingling around in party attire.
Inside the upper deck Lucy sat across from Salamander wearing a red dress.
"So Lucy was it? So nice of you to join me here have a drink." Salamander said as he used magic to lift the drinks he set out for him and Lucy offering her some.
After boarding the ship a half hour ago, she kept her guard up the whole time.
"What do you think you're doing?" Lucy slapped the drink away. "I know you tried to use sleep magic on me."
Salamander lifts his hand to rest his head, displaying his rings in the process. The charm ring had a heart on it while his second had what looked like a closed eye above it.
"You're quite a handful, aren't you?" Salamander stated.
The wall behind her slid open revealing a bunch of thuggish looking men. Some of them have sleeping women draped over their shoulders. Lucy recognized them as the women attending the party.
"What's going on here?" Lucy angrily demanded.
"Welcome aboard my ship. It is wise to behave yourself until we make it to Bosco. You wouldn't want to make me angry."
"Bosco? Why?" Lucy started to get concerned. The unconscious women were making her apprehensive.
"Simple. You'll fetch a nice price in Bosco as a slave." Salamander said in a nonchalant tone.
"What?!" She was enraged. "You told me you were going to take me to Fairy Tail."
"I won't let you do that!" Lucy shouted.
Her eyes moved between Salamander and the men. The comment made the men laugh.
"That's our Salamander all right." One man said.
"Got a big haul this time!" Another shouted.
"Why you." Lucy reached for the pouch on her belt.
Salamander reacted quickly. The keys were knocked out of her hands.
"You're a Celestial Wizard." Salamander inspected the gold key. "These keys will only work for the wizard they're contracted with."
He tossed the key out the window.
Lucy's eyes began to water as the men restrained her.
"Using magic to take advantage of others." She said, tears trailing down her face. "You're the worst wizard alive."
A large tornado then lifted the ship into the air and carefully brought it closer to shore.
"What's going on?" Salamander asked.
Something then crashed through the ceiling. When the dust cleared, it revealed Kenshin.
"What exactly is going on here?" He demanded.
"I was tricked into believing I would join Fairy Tail."
He scanned the surroundings and saw the unconscious women.
"Are you a slave trafficker?" Kenshin's staff shifted to the side.
The thugs were struck by bolts of lightning and the women fell off their shoulders.
Then it became dark in the room they were in.
"Turn the lights back on!" Salamander yelled at some of the men.
"They can't." He heard Kenshin's voice in the shadows. "That was my Darkness Dragon Slayer magic."
Salamander then felt a object hit him in the back.
Eventually, the shadows dispersed and Salamander's thugs were unconscious.
"I trust you can get the women off the yacht."
"Leave it to me." Lucy pumped her fist into the air.
"Follow me." She led the captured women off Salamander's yacht.
With no distractions, Kenshin's focus returned to Salamander.
"Why don't you worry about me." He stared at his adversary.
"You allowed my slaves to escape. That cannot be forgiven. Prominence Whip." Salamander waved his hand horizontally in front of and creates a magic circle.
Kenshin held his staff forward.
"Wind Dragon Air Ball!" A sphere of air circled around it, dispersing the whip.
"Lightning Dragon Sword Horn!" The wind was knocked out of Salamander's body.
Kenshin then grabbed him by the collar and walked him off the yacht.
Lucy ran up to him.
"The women are with the Rune Knights." She told him.
"Salamander wasn't much of a challenge." Kenshin replied.
Salamander was then roughly thrown to the ground.
"As soon as he's sent to prison, I'll take you to Fairy Tail."
"Sounds great." Lucy smiled.
Kenshin then brought Salamander over to some of the Rune Knights.
"I think I've seen you before." He recalled.
"Oh yeah." It dawned on him. "Bora the Prominence. You won't be causing any more trouble where you're going."
The Rune Knights saw Kenshin approach and looked at the person with him.
"I have someone for you." He gave Bora over to one of the knights. "Bora the Prominence. He was running a slave trafficking operation onboard his yacht."
"We'll take it from there." The Rune Knights carried Bora off to prison.
Kenshin then returned to where he left Lucy.
"You coming?" He asked.
"Absolutely." Lucy grabbed the rest of her belongings from the Inn she was staying at.
