College was a whole new beginning. There had been plenty of times that Buffy had doubted ever getting this far in her life, but she'd survived high school, survived graduation, and now here she was at UC Sunnydale, a college freshman with a whole new world opening up before her.
If Buffy was excited about all the new opportunities college life would give her the opportunity to explore, Willow was positively geeking out, bubbling over with her enthusiasm to learn and experience. This was what she'd been working towards since the day she started school. Buffy envied her friend a bit. She felt a little nervous and out of place herself, but Willow seemed to fit right in, overflowing with newfound confidence.
Of course, Willow had a boyfriend to share her college adventure with, as well as her best friend, while Buffy was sadly single. She didn't blame Angel for breaking up with her, but she did miss his support and his wisdom. He'd always known the right thing to say when she was feeling unsettled or out of her depth.
On the other hand, college was full of cute, unattached boys… Maybe her love life could start over too.
