Chapter 7: DogDay Vs Bubba Bubbaphant: Trying Your Best!
DogDay was on one side of the duel field with his Duel Disk in one of his arms. He puts his Deck in the Duel Disk to activate it.
"Alright, Bubba, I'm ready!" He said,
Bubba was on the other side of the duel field as he puts one of his arms through the Duel Disk and then puts his Deck in the Duel Disk to activate it.
"I'm ready too." He said,
PickyPiggy chuckled a bit.
"Oh, this is gonna be exciting!" She said,
"Yeah, it sure is…" Bobby said,
CatNap was silent still.
"Sure hope DogDay can pull this through…" He said
DogDay and Bubba looked at each other. The two then shouted, "Duel!" as the duel started!
Turn 1. DogDay: 4000. Bubba Bubbaphant: 4000
Bubba goes first. He looks at his 5 cards in his hands.
"Ok, so before you do anything, I just want to make things clear and say that my deck isn't good." DogDay hollered,
"You already told me." Bubba hollered back, "Don't worry, this is going to be a fair duel between you and me."
"R-Right, ha ha…"
Bubba sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Hmm… A lot of decisions for this deck…" He said to himself, "And since this is my first duel against DogDay in a while, I have to go easy on him."
Bubba Bubbaphant played a Spell Card to start the duel.
"I'll start the duel off with the Spell Card, Cyber Emergency!" He said, "This lets me add either a light machine monster that can't be Normal Summoned or Set, or a Cyber Dragon monster from my deck to hand."
CatNap and DogDay gasped.
"He's playing Cyber Dragons?!" They both shouted,
Bubba searches for a monster named "Cyber Dragon Vier" from his deck to his hand and shows it.
"I'll use this card later." He said as his deck shuffled and then played a different monster from his hand, "I Normal Summon Cyber Dragon Core from my hand in Attack Position!"
Cyber Dragon Core was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 400 ATK Points.
"Now I activate Cyber Dragon Core's effect, which lets me search for a Cyber Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Hand." Bubba continued as he then showed Cyber Dragon Vier again from his hand, "But first, when I Summon a "Cyber Dragon" I can Special Summon Cyber Dragon Vier from my hand in Defense Position!"
Cyber Dragon Vier was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 1600 DEF Points. Then, Bubba searches for a card called, "Cyber Revsystem" and then shuffles it by hand.
"Wait, I have a question!" DogDay as he raised his hand, "How did you know if you summoned a "Cyber Dragon" if they have names after Cyber Dragon?"
"Simple." Bubba replied, "On the field, monsters like Cyber Dragon Core and Cyber Dragon Vier are treated as the names, Cyber Dragon while on the field or in my Graveyard."
"Huh, interesting…"
"And here is what's also interesting! Appear, the circuit that leads to better choices!"
"What the?!"
A square with 8 red arrows around it appears.
"A Link Circuit?!" CatNap shouted, "Is he gonna Link Summon?!"
"In order to summon this monster, I must require 2 Machine monsters including Cyber Dragon." Bubba said, "So I'll use my two Cyber Dragons on the field as Link Materials!"
Cyber Dragons Core and Vier went into the Link Arrows. One went to the left arrow and the other went to the bottom arrow.
"The circuits have been Linked!" Bubba shouted as he started to chant, "Witness the cybernetic technology's power of a new dragon! Link Summon! Link-2, Cyber Dragon Sieger!"
Bubba Special Summoned Cyber Dragon Sieger in one of the Extra Monster Zones as one appeared as a hologram on Bubba's Duel Disk. Cyber Dragon Sieger was in Attack Position with 2100 ATK Points.
"No way…" DogDay said, "A Link Monster, huh? I haven't seen one of those in forever…"
"Nice to hear." Bubba said, "Link Monsters must only be Special Summoned in the Extra Monster Zone first before going into the Main Monster Zone. The same goes for Pendulum Monsters and the two can also be Special Summoned in the Main Monster Zone if a Link Monster is pointing in the Main Monster Zone through its Link Arrows."
"Interesting… And what about Synchro Monsters?"
"Those, Fusion and Xyz Monsters can still be Special Summoned in either the Extra or Main Monster Zone."
"I see…"
"Good to know you're curious about this, because it's your turn now."
"Wait, really?!"
"Really."
Turn 2. DogDay: 4000. Bubba Bubbaphant: 4000.
"Ok, I draw!" DogDay said as he drew a card from his deck to his hand and then looked at them, "Hmmm… This is a bit challenging…"
"Come now, DogDay, take all the time you want." Bubba said, "Well, we are here until after school hours are over, being 6PM at the dot."
"Right, right, ok…"
DogDay takes a deep breath as he showed Bubba a card called, "Garbage Lord"
"I give up 2000 of my Life Points to Special Summon Garbage Lord from my hand!" DogDay said with a serious tone, "And I'll do so in Defense Mode!"
DogDay Special Summoned Garbage Lord in Defense Position with 2400 DEF Points, but at the cost of 2000 of his Life Points. DogDay is now at 2000 Life Points.
"Oh great, he still plays that card." CatNap said with a face palm,
"Huh…" Bubba said, "Ok, I activate the effect of one of my monsters from my hand."
Bubba showed a card named, "Cyber Dinosaur"
"When you Special Summon a monster from your hand, I can Special Summon Cyber Dinosaur from my hand!" Bubba said,
Cyber Dinosaur was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 Attack Points. It roared as it appeared on the field.
"I do need some extra backup." Bubba said, "So my Cyber Dinosaur will work."
"I see! Right!" DogDay said as he nervously laughed a bit,
"Continue on, that will be all from me in this turn for now."
"Got it!"
DogDay summoned a monster named Supay in Attack Position with 300 ATK Points.
"I Normal Summon the tuner monster, Supay!" He said,
"Tuner, huh?" Bubba said, "So you're gonna Synchro Summon for a Level 6, yes?"
"Yup!"
"Oh, this should be good." CatNap said with raised eyebrows while fixing his long hair covering one of his eyes, "He's gonna bring out one of his two ace monsters!"
DogDay raised his fist up.
"I tune my Level 1 Supay with my Level 5 Garbage Lord!" He shouted,
A Synchro Summon has started with Level 1 Supay and Level 5 Garbage Lord.
"Shine in the dark to help me lead this duel to the morning sun!" DogDay chanted, "Synchro Summon!"
A Moon with 4 Dragons growing out of it slowly appeared,
"Let's lead the night, Level 6, Moon Dragon Quilla!" DogDay shouted,
Moon Dragon Quilla was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.
"Amazing." Bubba said, "Those dragons of your's are unique, but I sorta forgot what they do."
"Oh! Don't worry! I'll tell you that during the duel!" DogDay said, "...Or after the duel, who knows."
DogDay sets a card in the Spell/Trap Zones.
"I set a card." He said, "And now, it's time to Battle!"
The Battle Phase started.
"Go, Moon Dragon Quilla!" DogDay shouted as he pointed his dragon to Cyber Dragon Sieger, "Attack Cyber Dragon Sieger!"
Moon Dragon Quilla's moon started to shine as it went to attack Cyber Dragon Sieger with its moonlight. Bubba fixes his glasses as he puts his hand out.
"I activate Cyber Dragon Sieger's effect!" He shouted, "Sieger Energy!"
Cyber Dragon Sieger's ATK Points are now 4200 as it then attacked Moon Dragon Quilla and destroyed it.
"What the?!" DogDay shouted,
"Huh?!" CatNap shouted, "His dragon is gone and he didn't take any damage from that?!"
Bubba smirked.
"During each Battle Phase, if my Cyber Dragon Sieger didn't declare an attack, I can make its ATK Points gain an extra 2100, or double it." He said, "However, neither one of us will take any damage from attacks involving Cyber Dragon Seiger, so you're safe, for now."
DogDay sighed heavily.
"Ok, I almost got a heart attack, ha ha…" He said,
DogDay then played a monster in Defense Position with 2000 DEF Points.
"I'll end my turn by Special Summoning from my hand, Oracle Of The Sun in Defense Mode, since you only control a monster! He said,
Turn 3. DogDay: 2000. Bubba Bubbaphant: 4000.
"I draw." Bubba said as he drew a card and looked at it, "Alright then."
Bubba played a Spell Card.
"I activate the Spell Card, "Evolution Burst!" He shouted, "If I control a Cyber Dragon, I can destroy a card you control, so your face-down card is gone!"
DogDay's face-down card, being the Trap Card, The Golden Apples, was destroyed.
"What?!" He shouted, "Wait, don't tell me! Your Cyber Dragon Sieger can also be treated as Cyber Dragon?"
"That's right, you're learning!" Bubba said, "But there is a cost with Evolution Burst. Cyber Dragon can't attack the turn after the card's activation, so only my Cyber Dinosaur can attack."
The Battle Phase has started.
"Cyber Dinosaur, attack Oracle Of The Sun!" Bubba shouted,
Cyber Dinosaur roared as it headbutts Oracle Of The Sun, destroying it.
"When Oracle Of The Sun is destroyed, I can activate its effect by adding either one of the two specific tuners from my Deck to my Hand!" DogDay said, "It can be either another Supay, or this guy!"
DogDay added the following monster and showed it to Bubba.
"Fire Ant Ascator!" He shouted,
"Huh, another special tuner monster…" Bubba said,
"That's right!"
"Ok, I want to see what you got. It's your turn."
Turn 4. DogDay: 2000. Bubba: 4000.
"I draw!" DogDay shouted as he draws a card,
DogDay smiled as he discarded the card he drew, "Call Of The Reaper" to the Graveyard.
"I discarded a card to Special Summon The Tricky from my hand!" He shouted,
The Tricky was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2000 ATK Points.
"And now I Normal Summon the tuner monster, Fire Ant Ascator!" DogDay shouted,
Fire Ant Ascatoe was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 700 ATK Points.
"Here it comes!" CatNap said, "He's gonna Synchro Summon his other Ace Monster!"
"This is exciting!" PickyPiggy said, "Your friend's deck is crappy, but it is awesome to see how he uses it!"
DogDay raised his fist up again.
"Alright! I tune my Level 3 Fire Ant Ascator with my Level 5 The Tricky!" He shouted,
Another Synchro Summon has started with Level 3 Fire Ant Ascator and Level 5 The Tricky.
"When the sun shines, a new day has arrived, as well as a new monster that will help bring the light to my path!" DogDay chanted, "Synchro Summon!"
A Sun with 4 dragons slowly appeared.
"Shine on, Level 8, Sun Dragon Inti!" DogDay shouted,
Sun Dragon Inti was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.
"There's the other dragon of your's" Bubba said,
"Been a while since you've seen Inti as well, huh?" DogDay said, "Well, I'm gonna show you its amazing powers!"
The Battle Phase started again.
"Sun Dragon Inti, attack Cyber Dinosaur!" DogDay shouted,
Sun Dragon Inti shines its sun as it attacks Cyber Dinosaur with its sunlight.
"Not so fast!" Bubba shouted, "I activate Cyber Dragon Sieger's effect once again!"
DogDay and CatNap gasped.
"No way!" CatNap shouted, "Is he gonna…"
Cyber Dragon Sieger roared at Cyber Dinosaur as Cyber Dinosaur's ATK Points raised to 4600. Cyber Dragon roared as he blasted out cyber energy at Sun Dragon Inti, destroying it. DogDay then took 1600 points of damage and now has 400 Life Points left.
"What happened?!" He shouted, "Why did I take damage this time?!"
"When you attack another monster instead of Cyber Dragon Sieger, I can use Cyber Dragon Sieger's effect again, but only this time on Cyber Dinosaur. That's where you take damage since you're not attacking Cyber Dragon Sieger."
DogDay sighed.
"You sure did surprise me." He said,
"Ha, I'm glad I did." Bubba said,
"But before I go out in this duel, I activate Sun Dragon Inti's effect!"
"Huh?"
Cyber Dinosaur was destroyed and Bubba took 2300 points of damage. Bubba now has 1700 Life Points left.
"What the?!" He said, "What was that?"
"When Sun Dragon Inti is destroyed by battle, then that monster that battles it is destroyed and you take damage equal to half of its ATK Points that it had on the field!" DogDay said, "And since your Cyber Dinosaur had 4600 ATK Points, you take 2300 points of damage!"
Bubba chuckled.
"I see, not a bad effect." He said, "Good on you, DogDay."
"Thanks!" DogDay said, "It's your turn!"
Turn 5. DogDay: 400. Bubba Bubbaphant: 1700.
"I draw." Bubba said as he draws a card,
"Hold on a minute!" DogDay shouted,
"Huh? What now?"
"I activate Sun Dragon Inti's other effect from my Graveyard!"
"Does it have another effect?"
"Yes! During the Standby Phase, I can Special Summon Moon Dragon Quilla from my Graveyard!"
Moon Dragon Quilla was resurrected from the Graveyard in Attack Position.
"You never surprise me, DogDay." Bubba said, "During our good times before what has happened with CraftyCorn, you always lead the way… Now I have to due to the drama we all have to face together…"
"...And I have to isolate myself with CatNap." DogDay said, "Things were rough for us as well…"
"True…"
Bubba sighed sadly as he then took a deep breath.
"Alright, let's continue this duel." He said as he played another Spell Card, "I activate Cyber Repair Plant!"
Cyber Repair Plant was activated as Bubba searches for a monster card.
"If Cyber Dragon is in my Graveyard, I can add a Light Machine monster from my deck to my hand." He said, "And I'll be using this monster to end this duel between us."
Cyber Dragon Sieger and 3 of Bubba's monsters from his Graveyard, Cyber Dragon Core, Cyber Dragon Sieger and Cyber Dinosaur were banished from the field and Graveyard.
"By banishing all of my Light Machine monsters from my Graveyard and Field, I can Special Summon this monster!" Bubba shouted as he played it, "Cyber Eltanin!"
Cyber Eltanin was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2000 ATK Points.
"And it gains 500 ATK Points for every monster banished by this effect to Special Summon it!" Bubba continued,
"But it's not enough to take on Moon Dragon Quilla." DogDay said,
"True, but Cyber Eltanin has an effect upon Special Summoning."
Moon Dragon Quilla was then sent to the Graveyard.
"What the?!" DogDay said,
"When Cyber Eltanin is Special Summoned, all other face-up monsters on the field are sent to the Graveyard." Bubba said, "You have no other monsters on your field."
DogDay gulped.
"Oh crap." He said,
Bubba chuckled.
"Alright, battle!" He said,
The Battle Phase started again.
"Cyber Eltanin, attack DogDay directly and end this duel!" Bubba shouted,
Cyber Eltanin blasted its cybernetic energy from its many heads at DogDay, reducing his Life Points to 0. Bubba Bubbaphant won the duel.
"DogDay lost…" CatNap said as he sighed,
