Prompt: "I taught you how to pick locks, and this is how you're using that skill?"

Jacoba had known that she shouldn't have come out tonight. But she had let Lacey convince her that the best thing that she could do right now was to get drunk and forget about whatever it was that was troubling her. Which Jacoba knew wasn't going to actually happen anyway, since someone was going to need to be the designated driver. And she knew that it wasn't going to be Lacey.

Once again, some idiot had noticed that the two of them were drinking without any men present and thought that he had a shot. Luckily, Jacoba had been able to get between said idiot and Lacey, and got him to walk away (she credited her height in this instance). It was then that she had decided that it was time to leave. She told the bartender (a man who had become an old friend due to the amounts of time that he spent getting the two out of bar fights) that she would be back to settle their tab and escorted Lacey to stand out by her Mustang. After emphasizing to Lacey that she needed to stay there (you wouldn't believe the amount of times that Lacey had wandered off), Jacoba went back into pay off their tab and say their goodbyes.

As she began to walk back out of the bar, Jacoba's mind started to wander and to think about what had prompted her to got out that night. She had figured out that she was falling for one of her teammates. And not just any teammate, either. No, she had to fall for the most annoying of all her teammates; she had fallen for Gunnar Jensen. In truth, she should have seen it coming, but it had still hit her like a freight train. Everyone had been hinting at it for as long as she'd known the team, but she just thought that the team was trying to put them together because of their height. Shaking her head, she finally opened the door to go outside and take her best friend home so that she could maybe go back to her own apartment and drink by herself.

The sight that greeted her when she started towards her car made her pause for a minute in confusion. Lacey was still there (which was a plus because she didn't now have to go searching for her) but was crouched down by the driver's door. Jacoba had to stifle her laughter once she finally realized what Lacey was attempting to do. Once she got closer, she cleared her throat and attempted to keep an unamused expression on her face as Lacey jumped and turned towards her.

"I taught you how to pick locks and this is how you are using that skill?"

Lacey started to stutter as Jacoba barely held in her laughter at the look on her best friend's face. Finally, Lacey pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. "It's not funny, Jacoba!"

Jacoba kept smiling wide as she took her keys out and unlocked the car after pushing Lacey to go around and get into the passenger side. "I know, Lace, but I just needed that. Now, let's go before Lee gets worried, ok?"

"Sounds like a plan. Onward, Jeeves!"

"I should have cut you off an hour ago."
