The war against Gaia is over, she has been defeated, the giants are no more and the seven are now kneeling bloodied and bruised in the throne room of Olympus. Persephone Jackson, the heroin of Olympus, Daughter of Poseidon, Daughter of Neptune, named after the Goddess her mother greatly admired was kneeling in the center of the line made up off all the seven members of the prophecy, her body ached like she had been hit by a bus, crimson blood runs down her arms and legs mixing with the various amounts of dirt caking her body. Jason Grace, Piper Mclean and Leo Valdaz were kneeling on her right. Annabeth Chase, Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang were to her left all of whom looked as bad as she did. Around them parched upon their thrones were the mighty Olympians looking down upon them a mix of relief, exhaustion, pain and joy were across their faces. Percy spared a glance towards her father Poseidon, he looked exhausted but greatly relieved but also proud as he gave his daughter a small nod that was barely enough for the other olympians to notice.
Zeus began to speak, drawing Percy's attention back to what was going on. "Heroes of Olympus to say that we are all eternally grateful for all you have done is an understatement. You have led both camps to a victory that has previously been seen as impossible."
Percy tried so hard not to snigger at her uncle's high and mighty speech.
"We would like to reward you for your courage and bravery. We would like to offer each and every one of you immortality."
A sharp breath caught in percy's throat, immortality, she was being offered immortality again. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful, far from it, but she didn't feel like she deserved such a gift; others could benefit from such a gift. Her eyes moved over and fell upon Hesita and Hades, the two Olympions that did not have a place on the council; they may not be Olympians by name but in Percy's mind they were Olympians nonetheless. It was at that moment she knew what she was going to do. She was going to use this to do something that was worth it.
One by one percy watched as her friends graciously accepted immortality but when it came to her turn silence. She knew she had to use her words carefully, she had to make sure there was no mistake in what she wanted. She had to make sure every word that escaped her lips was clear, no mumbling, no mispronounced, no word that was spoken too quickly, every word had to be perfect.
By this point the entire room was focused on Percy, the seven could tell exactly what was going through their friends mind, the olympians were curious as to what the heroine's response would be. All the others answered clear as day whereas the person who deserved their gift the most wasn't saying anything. While they were all focused on the demigoddess there was one whose eyes were burning into her head.
"While I am grateful for the offer I must decline." Murmurs enveloped the room no one could believe that she had yet again declined the gift of immortality, hardly any heroes are offered such a gift once but twice and to decline twice was unheard of. Poseidon wore a look that was less shocked than the others, as much as he didn't want to admit it but a part of him knew that his daughter, his kind, brave, selfless daughter wouldn't choose immortality she would use it to aid others. He hoped that she would agree to becoming immortal yet he knew she wouldn't. He was proud of her. She has shown what a true hero is,someone who does the right thing without seeking for a reward.
"I'm sorry,"Hera said, her eyes wide at percy's words.
"I am grateful for your offer but I must decline, however I would like to use the gift for something else instead." Zeus remembered after the second titan war how his niece declined immortality and asked for something else now she wanted to do it again, he would be living if he wasn't curious as to what she could possibly want now.
"I would like Lord Hades and Lady Hestia to be recognised as Olympians and take their rightful places on the council."
Shock rattled through the room none of the Olympians were expecting.
"If this is what you wish it shall be done." Said her uncle as he waved his hand and two thrones appeared in the throne room both newly appointed Olympians took their seats. The fates had later come and gave her friends all their domains. A soft smile graced Percy's lips as she watched them being given these domains, she could feel eyes glued on her but she couldn't figure out who it was.
"Before this meeting is to end I would like to ask my niece something." This caught everyone's attention. "Persephone Jackson if you wish to become immortal as well as the others you can choose to become one from now to the age of 25. I feel it would only be right to allow you to have this for all you have done."
Everyone was surprised, Zeus clearly had learned to respect the young hero. "Thank you uncle, that is an honor."
Everyone split up, Percy running to hug her friends before she must go back to camp. Her father gave her a strong hug as well as Hestia, Hades shook her hand thanking her for what she had done. As Percy was leaving the room she crashed into a strong chest, sending her hitting the ground. "Watch where you are going punk," snarled a dark familiar voice. Ares, the god of war was standing in front of her with his arms crossed glaring down at her as though she was the devil in carnet. "Perhaps you should do the same." Snapped Percy as she did her best to hoist herself from the floor glaring back at the god in front of her. Ares rolled his eyes and walked away completely ignoring the girl. Anger rose in percy's body as she watched him leave.
