Arthur Curry (or Orin as he was known underwater) had recently taken his rightful place as King of Atlantis and off the sea and he was using his powers to bring fish to poor seaside villages; take down oil sea-platforms while managing to make sure that nothing spilled (unlike eco-terrorists; Arthur knew to be careful or else he would just be causing as much damage to the enviroment as his oponnents) and pirates. He had gotten the reputation as a legend known as Aquaman and those power and money hungry monsters at Vought sent their water based loser the Deep after him and credit where it was due, he managed to find his way to Atlantis.
He was beyond a joke and he had him taken care off while in the middle off talking politics with his half-brother Orm without needing to interupt himself. Seriously if he was Vought's best water based heroes then he didn't want to do any research on more that they might have.
He was at the village where he grew up with his lighthouse keeper father and then the villagers stepped away fearfully as there was Vought's number one weapon the Homelander flying down not happy. "So I have found the eco-terrorist known as Aquaman; you're supposed to be Deep's problem but no one can find him. Feel free to surrender..." Homelander said with his obviously fake smile and dramatic posing putting on the act for the villagers but then he gasped on his knees holdinghis neck struggling to breathe.
Arthur grinned; the human body was mostly water which he controlled and he could use his powers to make someone dehydrate without getting too close. A few minutes was all it took for the Homelander to pass out and being checked on by villagers, he was pronounced dead.
The legendary Homelander killed by someone who not only didn't even have to touch him but didn't even have to be too close.
Arthur picked up his body to give him the grave that he deserved.
The inside off a kraken to join the remains off the Deep who also became the mythical sea creature's meal.
Credit to the Ronin guest on AO3 for this idea. Using his powers to make someone dehydrate without touching was used in one of the early issues off the New 52 Aquaman and that opening story arc is a blatant response to the thankfully now dead Aquaman is useless meme and to demonstrate just how badass the comics Aquaman has been for the longest time.
