Harry Potter is not mine. This is a story from a fan.
When you're done, You're DONE.
Ch 10 Tonks 7 and a little bit of Harry.
Tonks sat up in fear. her clock was telling her, that it was two in the morning but her heart told her it was later. She had a bad dream but for the life of her, she could not remember it. She knew something had woken her up but she didn't know what. As she got dressed she stumbled out of her room locking it behind her. She would not put it past Molly to have a look around when she wasn't in the house. First, she went to the kitchen and found Sirius, sitting there nursing a strong cup of tea. "Can't sleep?" she asked him.
Sirius looked up and shook his head slowly, "Ever since I got out of Azkaban I have been having these nightmares. They are fading but I still have them twice a week. It is no fun but I get used to it".
"Sirius, you need mental help, what you went through could drive you crazy and it is not good. Tell me again, why didn't Albus get you a mind healer, they can work on you, and because of their oath they can't say a thing to us".
Slowly Sirius placed his head in his arms, resting it a little while he got more and more frustrated. Every time Tonks talked to him he heard something else Albus had neglected to do. He had given him the house to use, let the order stay here on his say so. But he did nothing for him now that he thought about it. "Do you think Albus is doing the same thing with Harry".
It was a whisper from between the arms of Sirius, but Tonks could still hear every word he had asked. Tonks was shaking her head but Sirius wasn't looking at her so he could not see it. She gave another sigh and answered him, "I hope not, but if my feelings are right it will be a lot worse. I saw Harry in my last year at Hogwarts, while he was in his first. A lot went by me but I remember some of the rumors that were circling around at the time. I even saw him now and then in the hallways. At that time I did not see the things I see now".
Tonks stopped and Sirius looked up. His eyes were looking at her and asking what she was thinking. He took a good look at himself and knew what he would do when he was an Auror, "So you went back and had a look at your own memories".
Tonks nodded slowly as she hung her head a little. "Back then I did not see it but now looking back I saw it all. He was too thin to be healthy, I saw him during the days and while I looked at him through my memories. It looked like he was more bone than flesh. During the year he filled out but he always looked around himself. There were a lot of signs telling me he was abused in some way. He was not hit or something but he was definitely abused" she was sure of it.
Sirius jumped up and Tonks yanked him back down. "Not like that, at least I don't think so. No, the way I think he was used was like a house elf, he worked a lot before Hogwarts. I saw it when I took a close look at his hands. He had worked with his hands like he did hard labor, his hands were full of calluses. He was also walking a little bend over like he had been scrubbing the floor for days. That also straightened out during the year but I see the same now when he walks around the town when I follow him".
"So they are working him to the bone and giving him very little to eat," Sirius asked her.
"It seems that way, So when I see him later today I will see if he needs some food, If so I will get it for him. I have to get his trust somehow".
Sirius looked at the table, "Didn't the note help you with that".
"No, it didn't," she told him with a frustrated look in her eyes, "It only kept him from killing me on the spot" Sirius looked at her. He had heard something the evening before but this was new. "He is very paranoid and thinks He who must not be named is looking for him, to tell you the truth, I do not blame him. If the stories from Hermione and Ronald are true, then he already faced him four times. Once as a baby, second time as a real magic sucking eal on the head of Quirell. A third time he got him as a kid of sixteen, how that is even possible I do not know. The last time so far and the fourth time had been at the end of this school year. I say He who must not be named wants him dead If not because he is the boy who lived. Then it will only be to just prove that Harry Potter is not better than him".
"Who ever thought Harry would have his number" Sirius asked.

Harry left the house around twelve with bleeding knuckles. He didn't look back and walked to the one place where he could get some peace for himself. As he walked through the door he gave a little nod at the Pastor. Like every day he sat down in the fifth row and started to pray. Ten minutes later he was interrupted by the pastor. "Are you ready to talk my son". Harry looked up and wanted to shake his head but he stopped midshake. "You need to talk, if not to me, talk to the young woman who sat behind you yesterday".
This time Harry did shake his head. "I do not know if I can trust her father, I'm not even sure if I can trust anyone at all, not even you".
If Harry thought he had hurt the Pastor, the Pastor didn't show it. He just smiled at him as he looked ahead of himself waiting a little bit to let Harry think about his words. "I do not know, what you went through, but I think she is really looking to help you. When I talked to her yesterday she was here for you, only for you".
"I can't Father, so many people have let me down. Friends who I thought were my friends turned out to not be the friends I thought they were. People who I thought to be like a family are even less".
The Pastor patted his shoulder. "You have been sitting here every day now praying to God and to the Goddess of magic. Yes, we at the church know about magic, some of us are magical, but I'm not. God, or the Goddess will never let us down, they will always help us". This time the pastor laughed a little. "They will always help us, but we sometimes do not see it. Sometimes we have to do the one thing we think we can't do anymore. I think your test will be the trust you have to give". Harry gazed at him but could not find the words. "I know it will be hard my son, but you do not have to go from no trust to complete trust. Learn by hearing, listening, and talking, let the trust grow". Harry kept on sitting there looking straight ahead, he heard what the Father said but he did not think he could just trust this person. "I know that you have a hard time deciding what you have to do, If I were in your shoes, I would too. But you could also test her, ask questions you know the answers to and she can only answer if she has to look for it if she doesn't know".
"Test her," Harry asked.
"In a way, yes. If she knows things she can tell you or not. If not she can tell you that she can't, If she can't she will be honest in telling you so. If not then she will make something up and you will know. That could start the forming of trust or not".
Harry nodded and kept on sitting there as the Pastor walked away doing the things he didn't know. It took about an hour before he left the church and started to make his way to a place that was his home willing or not.

Amelia was rubbing her eyes as a steaming mug of coffee was standing in front of her. The last couple of days she had made long hours and hard days. The more she heard the more frustrated she became. Not only had she to deal with the boy who lived, she also had to deal with Albus Dumbledore who was one of the most powerful wizards alive. Not only magically but also politically. It was an uphill battle and she didn't know if this was one she could win, and she won almost all of them. The battles she didn't win, had been won by a bribe or blackmail from the other side. She could not say who it had been but Lucius Malfoy had a big hand in it all, that she knew.
"Auntie what are you thinking about".
Amelia looked up and saw Susan standing in the doorway. "Where is Hannah" she asked when she didn't see her friend.
"Hannah went home, her brother is turning eight tomorrow, we told you yesterday and she will be back the day after tomorrow".
"You did," Amelia asked her, she frowned when she saw her niece rolling her eyes. "Don't you give me that look, young Lady, you are still old enough to be put over my knee".
"Something is really eating at you if you don't realize you have already told me that this week. Especially when you don't even listen to your only niece who is slowly starting to believe you don't care for her".
Amelia smirked at Susan as she saw her rubbing her bum from the stinging hex Amelia placed on her, "That is for your cheek and for pestering your dear old aunty".
Susan mumbled something about old and something else while she turned her bum away from her aunty as she smiled at her. It was a by-play they did often to relieve some stress. Susan knew her aunty would never punish her, she would talk her to death for what she had done wrong, but she was a good girl, as far as her Aunty knew. When she took the chair she waited for her aunty to tell her what was wrong.
"You are not going to leave me before you know what is bothering me, are you" Susan shook her head and gave her that little smile she always gave her aunty when she knew she had won. "Alright, I think you know this is partly about Harry Potter" Susan nodded. "Well, we think it is partly but it might be that all of it has to do with him. I told you that we would tell you all when we know for sure" Again Susan nodded but also started to bend a little closer to her aunty. "The main story so far is Albus Dumbledore and the way he has been treating Harry Potter".
"He is treating him weird if you ask me, I almost had a fight about it with Hannah".
Amelia was taken aback, by the response Susan gave her. She knew her niece had followed her way of working and knew she could see things others didn't. This however had been new for her, when she thought about it she realized she hadn't asked her about it. Her niece had learned all her tricks and she smirked at her. "You do know that you only keep information behind if someone else asks you questions, not when I am the one asking them".
"Hay, I have to practice if I ever want to be your boss".
"Now you are going to be my boss are you" Amelia laughed as she saw Susan nodd at her with big eyes. After the little byplay, Amelia got serious with her. "You just told me that Albus had a weird relationship with Harry Potter".
Susan started to bite her bottom lip, it was a telling sign that she was worried. Amelia knew she could not put force on her because she would keep her mouth shut. After Susan got up to her feet Amelia knew it would be a lot to tell. "Well, I'm not sure but it always looks like he has two faces with Harry".
Amelia frowned at the words but did not know how to proceed. She wanted her niece to tell her everything but could not find the right question, for the first time in many years she felt old, "Mam can I come true".
Amelia turned to look behind her and saw the face of Tonks. After a deep sigh, she realized that Tonks was just the girl she needed and she waved her through. "I'm glad you are here, I need your help with this little delinquent here".
"Hay, I can hear you and I'm not little". Susan said as she looked down at her bosom.
"Yeah, but you are a delinquent looking at your good points" Tonks smirked as she turned to Amelia. "You do know that she has a bad influence on your young auror" and she pointed at herself.
"Yes, I know Tonks but what should I do about it".
"Put her in Azkaban for the night, for withholding information".
"You first have to arrest me and question me, before you can throw that at me" Susan laughed as she buffed her nails on her shoulder looking at them after it.
Tonks smirked at them both and nodded her head in respect. "She got us there Boss, But what do I have to do to put the screws on this little piece of work". Susan spluttered as Amelia started to laugh.
"She has trouble telling me about Albus and Harry Potter. She thinks there is something wrong but she can't find the words and I can't find the question to help her along".
Tonks sat and pointed at the chair in front of her. Susan knew it was done with the funnier things and it was time to get serious. Amelia sat at the side and looked on as Tonks did her magic. "So something weird is going on between the headmaster and Harry Potter". At first, Amelia wanted to interfere but just realized the Tonks were asking the questions in an investigating way by calling Albus, Headmaster. "Would you say they are close friends?" Tonks asked her.
Susan looked at her and knew what Tonks was doing. She had seen enough of how her aunty would question other people. It wasn't all that surprising because when her aunty had asked for her and Hannah to tell them about their Hogwarts years and Harry Potter. Susan knew that something had been wrong but she didn't know what. That they would have seen something wrong and wanted their words on it all was telling her they could not get the information in another way. "Not exactly, in our first year we would have said yes, It was mostly because, at the end of the year, Harry got a hundred points and also because he was allowed to play Quidditch while every other first-year could not".
"You think he is giving him preferential treatment because he is the boy who lived," Tonks asked and knew that she first thought about it in the same way. At least that year because she too was there and saw it the same way as the others did.
"That year yes, and to tell you the truth I hated it because it looked like he got away with everything. It was also before Ronald Weasley told us all what he had done". Susan took a deep breath before she went on, "Well, It is what I thought at the time, but after we talked the last time I'm not so sure anymore".
Tonks nodded while Ameilia was writing it all down. "So, now that you see other things, how would you describe that relationship now".
"In our first year, It seemed that Harry Potter got away with all the things he had done. Yet it was Ronald Weasly who talked about it. Harry always seemed to be standing somewhere in the background. At Christmas, he stayed at Hogwarts and he stayed all alone. According to the rumor mill of Hogwarts, he was alone in his common room and didn't sit with the others. Yesterday, I wondered why I never saw him with the Headmaster when he clearly gave him a hundred points for something special. He also gave Ronald Weasly points for a chess game. When I thought about it Harry defeated a Troll and deserved the points because he rescued Hermione. But points for a chess game is just favoritism if you ask me".
Tonks nodded again and thought Susan had seen it right. So she wanted to ask something else but Susan went on. "Now in our second year, we all did stuff to him. Some of us called him names" Susan looked at her aunty and saw the angry look she gave her. "I didn't," she told her while she was holding up her hands. "I only ignored him, I'm not proud of it now that I think back but I still did it. But some called him names and others even cursed him in the back. The Headmaster never told us not to do it, he just let it all happen.
"So they are not friends," Tonks asked her.
Susan nodded and shook her head right after it. "That is the weird part. When he sees him and talks to him he is all friendly and more like a grandfather. But when something is done he is this person who is looking from the side like he is a stranger witnessing a crime". Susan stopped and looked at the ceiling for a second or two, "If I would say he is a friend, he is more a friend to Draco then to Harry. He is always giving Draco, a free walk while Harry has to do detention". Susan stopped again and looked intently at Tonks. "Draco only had one detention, and that was a detention he got from Professor McGonagall".
"When was this detention".
"That was in our first year. He got it because he was telling on them when they freed a Dragon from Hagrid. The professor had given him a detention because he too was out of bed. We heard Severus Snape".
"Don't you mean Professor Snape?" Amelia asked her with a little smirk.
"He is no Professor, he might know something about Potions but he is a biased son of a".
"SUSAN" Amelia screamed.
"What, he is," Susan told her. "He always helps the Slytherins but never us, plus he hates Harry and Albus always lets him. Everytime he bullies Harry for nothing, and nothing is done about it".
"Before I asked you, what do you know about Severus, Albus, and Harry? I also want to know what Severus does to you and Harry, but first I want to know what Albus is doing for Draco" Tonks asked her while she looked at Amelia to shut up.
Amelia sipped up her lips and smiled at Tonks. The way Tonks looked at her warmed her heart. In the last week, Tonks was growing faster than any other Auror she ever knew. The way she did it was almost the same way she would do it when she was questioning a person.
Susan looked on and saw that Tonks had had one over on her aunty. "Well, in our first year, Harry got a Nimbus two thousand. We all thought it was because he was the boy who lived. That was before we all saw how good he really was. In our second year, Malfoy got a Nimbus two thousand and one. His daddy bought it for him and the whole team, His place was purchased and so was the gift for the whole team, but they still lost.
"I remember that game in our first year, he was awesome," Tonks told her as she thought back at the game she had seen.
Susan nodded at Tonks with a smile. "There were a lot of these little incidents with Draco and Professor Snape always placed the blame on Harry. In our second year, he was the one who started the rumor of him being the heir of Slytherin. He always walked around with a smile telling everybody the Mudbloods were next and it was time for Hermione to die".
Amelia was writing away while Susan went on talking. "He even started to sell little things that would help us. That was a scam but most fell for it, Hannah even bought one" and Susan laughed a little. "There were a lot of those things the worst was last year. Draco made Potter stink badges and sold them to everyone, At first there were supporting Cedric badges, but when Harry walked by they turned into Potter stink badges. None of us knew that would happen because everyone thought that they were there to support Cedric. I bought one too but when I saw it a changed by someone else I threw it away. I hope Harry didn't see that I got one too because I never knew. But Draco could go on selling them and no one did anything about it".
When Susan stopped Amelia looked at the paper. She also knew about the time he pretended to be a Dementor or the time he challenged Harry to a Duel. So there might be even more things that she and Tonks didn't know about. Tonks realized that Susan was done with Draco and she had to go for Severus. She didn't like him, and after this, she was sure she would hate him or hate him more than she already did. "What about Professor Snape".
Susan closed her mouth which had been open for a little bit while she frowned at Tonks. In her eyes you could see she was thinking about how to say it, but also that she would have a hard time with it. "Well, that is a little more disturbing to tell. He hates us all and only likes the Slytherins. His lessons are only written down on the blackboard and that is all we are told".
Amelia already knew about the way he taught his lessons and she could do nothing about it. she had a voice in the board of governors but she was outnumbered when she voted. Lucius and a couple of his friends were also sitting on the board and had a minority of the votes. It was also known that Severus was one of their buddies so he got away with most of his behavior. Her thoughts stopped when she heard the voice of Susan going on.
"He is always threatening us with detention. and in the case of Neville, he frightens him to the point he does things wrong. After that, he always blames Harry for not paying attention because of his fame. Harry gets the worst of it all, I do not know his father but Snape always tells him he is just as arrogant as he was. If something happens to Draco he always says it had to have been Potter. Once I heard him telling Harry that it would only take a drop of Veritaserum to get him to tell the truth".
"When did you hear this" Tonks asked.
Well, it was just last year. He blamed him for stealing his stuff out of the storage room. I was sitting on the table right behind him so I heard it all but he had his back to me and I to him. Snape told him that it would only take a couple of drops". Susan took a deep breath, "He always blames Harry or someone else if something happens. Even if it has been one of his Slytherins he still blames another and they get away with it because Albus always takes his side".
Tonks looked over at Amelia. She knew that that last bit was against the law. Not only for them as Aurors but most of all for the Professors. If he was endangering the students like Susan said she could have him arrested. It would mean she had more investigating to do and she knew where to start. A lot of her new Aurors needed extra lessons to get their potions back up to Auror standards. After what she just heard she knew where that problem was coming from. If Severus was only placing the instructions on the blackboard then that wasn't teaching at all. His bullying of the students was even more frustrating to her. So Amelia knew she had to talk to all the new and young Aurors joining their department. They could tell her about Severus Snape and all of his wrongdoings.
Susan wanted to go on but Tonks stopped her. "It's okay Susan, we got all we need right now. If there is more we will ask you".
"Why are you asking me all of this, is Harry in some kind of trouble" Susan almost demanded from them.
Tonks opened her mouth and closed it right away. She wanted to say no, but she wasn't sure. Harry was not in any trouble with her or Amelia, but she wasn't sure about the others. A lot of red flags were coming up and it all pointed to the mistreatment of Harry Potter, in one way or another. "Well, we can't tell you yet, but he isn't in any trouble with us. He might be in other ways and that is what we are trying to figure out". After she said it she looked at Amelia if she had done right. The little nod told her enough as she looked at the clock. It was time for her to go, she came there to tell more but she didn't have any time left, it was her shift so she had to find Harry.
As Tonks took her leave, Amelia took her niece to the kitchen. There she gave her hot chocolate and took one for herself. "There is a lot wrong and we are trying to figure it all out. Harry told Albus that He who must not be named is back".
"Yes, we know the headmaster told us" Susan interrupted her.
Amelia rubbed the bridge of her nose. Every time she talked to her niece or said something, her niece would tell her something new that made it more complicated. By Albus telling all the students Voldemort was back. A lot of them would hate Harry just out of fear alone, making the boy an easy target for most, but also a prey for the profit and Rita Skeeter who took her direction from Lucius and Umbridge. "We will talk about it later," Amelia told her.
"Aunty, do you think Harry was right and that he is back".
Amelia gave a deep sigh, she knew this question would come but she just hoped it would not come this soon. "To tell you the truth I hope not. I do not know what he had seen so I can't say if he is back. Albus Dumbledore is keeping me from asking him anything. So whatever Harry had seen, I do not know. It might be He who must not be named or he just believes that it was He who must not be named he saw. Now the one thing we know and Tonks is trying to find out is, why everybody says Harry says he saw him. As far as we know, He only said it after the third task, after it he didn't say it anymore".
"True, Albus told us but Harry didn't say anything while everybody was blaming him for the death of Cedric".
"Tell me, you didn't do that," Amelia asked her.
Susan shook her head really fast, "No I did not but I also didn't talk to him. The headmaster asked us all to leave him alone but he looked so miserable".
"Understandable," Amelia told her, "If the story is true then He who must not be named killed Cederic right before his eyes, Harry tried to protect him but he was too late. At least that is what Miss Granger has told Tonks". Both drank their Hot chocolate that had turned cold and just sat in silence for a while.

Tonks appeared in front of the house and looked up. Harry was not home so she started to make her way into the little town. Her first stop had been the church but he wasn't there anymore. Just when she was about to leave she stopped and turned back. on the other side was the pastor and something had been troubling her from the moment he stopped her. She walked up to him and held her wand up her left sleeve. The thing she wanted to ask might not be taken in a good way. "Father, I'm sorry, but the last time you told me the church helped wizards and switched by saving them. I always learned that God was the only one and you can't obey another. So every wizard or witch should have been a demon in your eyes when it came to god".
The pastor smiled as a wand dropped into his hand. Tonks pulled her own waiting for the attack. They were alone in the church and she could take him out. When he waved his wand the doors closed on their own. He never pointed it at her but she pointed her own at him. It was then he placed it back in his pocket and sat down on a bench. When he petted the spot next to him she sat down still holding her wand at the ready. "You are right" But I'm not an ordinary Pastor. I have been to Hogwarts way before the last war. I was helped by a couple of nuns who were witches themselves. They were nuns but in reality, they were and are still a coven"The pastor pulled out his wand again and waved it at a statue of Jesus. The cross above it changed into a Pentacle.
"You are the high priest".
The Priest nodded. "I did not lie when I said we saved young witches and wizards. We did and are doing it because we have done it from far before the time of Merlin and Morgana. This cove comes from that time and has many sister covens around the world. I was saved when I was just a boy and these Witches became my mothers. I went to Hogwarts and when I was done I came back here to become the high priest because the last one died. In the Middle Ages when every woman was hanged, drowned, or burned when she was thought to be a witch we had to find a way to protect ourselves. And so this Coven became Nuns and started the church. I tell the word of God on Sunday, but I pray to the Goddess like you. So you are right in the fact that there is no place for Witches and wizards who are touched by the devil. Times are changing and people are learning there is no dark and light in magic. But we are only in the biting stages of that belief. The magic is the intent you use, Morgana knew this but she was alone in that belief".
"This is the second time you said the name Morgana" Tonks told him.
"Yes, I'm not sure if it is true, but the legend goes that Morgana started the first church of the Coven. She was not a part of it but she brought the first Coven to the idea. It had been her magic that touched the witches and made them see the way to save themselves. So the church is nothing more than the house of God on Sunday, but also the house of the goddess at night. We do the rituals in the basement and the praying here. I will point my flock in the right direction to respect everyone. The real church has a long way to go before they are at that point. Some are doing it, but those are just a handful for now". The priest pulled out his wand changed the cross back, and opened the doors. "You go and take care of that boy, he will need you more than you will know, and you will need him".
Tonks closed the door behind her and the high priest turned around when the mother superior disillusioned herself. "You did not tell her that the boy has the touch of Morgana. You also didn't tell her she has his mark on her magic".
"That is not my place, my sister. She was right about the church and that the beliefs are not in favor of the magicals around us. We are the exception because we are not the church. Still, if Morgana's magic has touched the boy, and she had gotten his mark. They have to find their path together. I could only point them in the right direction".
"You have done well my high priest". and the sister looked at the now open door. "Let's hope that Morgana knows what she is doing with her magic and that the boy will be the one we have been waiting for".

On the outside of the church, Tonks looked at her watch again. It was around one in the afternoon so he couldn't be far. Most of the time he would go window shopping looking at things he could buy. He never did, it was another thing that frustrated her. She knew the Potters had been well off, so to say. They weren't filthy rich but he could take it easy and only had to work a little, if he wanted to. Then again he might also be the next Lord Black according to Sirius. If that was the outcome then he was Filthy rich.
While she walked through the streets in search of Harry she thought about the way he looked. He was too thin and his hands were scraped like he had worked all morning before she saw him. While she thought about it a little more she also noticed that his clothes were second-hand. His trust funds should have enough money to get new clothes for him. She knew enough of the muggle world that this wasn't a new fashion trend. She finally arrived at the shopping district where she knew she would find Harry. It didn't take her long to spot him sitting on a bench before a couple of restaurants.
"You want to have something to eat," Tonks asked him as she sat down next to him. The moment she did she could see his wand sticking out of his hand as it was pointed right at her side.
This was it again for this time see you all in two weeks.
