Harry Potter is not mine. This is a story from a fan.
When you're done, You're DONE.
Ch 13 Tonks 10 the final steps.
Sirius was waiting at the end of the hallway, he knew his niece would come in at any moment and he wanted to see her the moment she arrived. When she walked through the door she stumbled over the umbrella stand. "One of these days this thing will be on a one-way ticket".
"Hallo Tonks" Sirius called out before she could let it all out. "You are right on time, everybody is already here except Albus. But you know him he is fashionably late like always. "Do you know anything of what happened tonight, because we should not have another meeting for another three days". Tonks looked at him but she didn't say a thing. Her look went down to the floor before her eyes snapped back up. "Don't tell me, if you can't. I'm not sure what kind of mess we are in but the more I think about it, the more I don't know".
Tonks placed a hand on his shoulder and pretended to kiss his cheek. "When I can I will tell you everything I can, for now, please, just go with it".
Sirius kissed her cheek and whispered "Right," before he turned back. Tonks followed him into the kitchen where the meeting would be held. Molly was rushing the kids out while she threw her a dirty look as she walked after them into the hallway. Tonks just shrugged her shoulders and walked on. The first thing she did was to look around at every member that was in the kitchen. She missed a couple and knew that one of them was watching Harry. The top fighters were all here and she had to give a frustrated sigh because it meant that the lesser fighters were protecting Harry, or they tried, she hoped.
"What is it" Sirius asked her as he looked around to see what she had seen. He didn't but he also didn't know what had happened. Tonks just shook her head as her eyes roamed the room again and again. Mad-Eye was as always standing near the door. He did not show anything, so he could know what could have happened or not. For the others, there was just suspicion. All of them knew something was wrong but it was clear they knew nothing. When Severus walked in, she knew the show was about to begin. His nose was up in the air and he looked down past it on the lesser people. The more she knew about him the more she hated him, and it took all of her willpower not to curse him right here with everybody watching.
Severus didn't say a thing but just walked to the back of the kitchen where he leaned against the cupboards, as he sneered at every one of them. "Please sit down all of you" Albus called out as he walked into the kitchen followed by Molly who was holding a little bottle against her side. She was trying to hide it but Tonks saw the top of it and knew it was a potion bottle. Here was another one she could curse into oblivion if she had the chance.
Albus took his place at the head of the table and gazed at all of them. He put up his grandfatherly act and Tonks knew it was just that. He had been at the ministry to help Harry, at least he tried but Tonks knew Amelia had been there first. She wanted to scream at him but stopped herself just in time, and listened to what he had to say.
"We find ourselves in a little bit of trouble" Albus started. Tonks, eyes became big and her mind screamed you son of a.
"Harry was out of the house and got into a little bit of trouble" Albus went on as Tonks let her mind go on with her thoughts.
Bitch, he was attacked by dementors and you call that a little bit of trouble.
"Albus" Sirius started, what happened to Harry and why do we have this meeting".
"Sirius my boy".
"No Albus, you said Harry got into a little bit of trouble. Is he in danger, or is he attacked. Other than that, who was keeping an eye on him". Tonks was looking at the eyes from Albus while Sirius was talking to him. He wasn't looking at anyone, but his eyes kept on snapping over to Severus every few seconds. She was sure he had already told Severus about it but she wondered why he tried to keep it from them. "Albus I want to know what is happening with my Godson".
"Sirius".
"NO, Albus I want to know what happened".
Albus sighed very deeply when Sirius asked the one question he didn't want to answer. He knew he had to tell something or this could get out of hand. "Harry has been attacked by Dementors when he was out of the house. He did some spells and was expelled from Hogwarts because of doing underage magic. Now I went to the ministry and took care of it, He will get a hearing first to explain himself. I will be there to help him. After that, we will just have to see what we can do".
Tonks heard the words and none reacted. She wondered if any of them had heard what he had said. "He has been attacked by WHAT" Remus screamed. Well, there is at least one who listened, Tonks thought. And sure enough, when Remus screamed the others started to listen as well.
"He was attacked by Dementors, He got away because he used the Patronus you taught him. He had to, just to save himself, but because he is underage he will get a hearing to see if he can stay at Hogwarts" Albus told them like it had been nothing.
Tonks listened on and heard the way Albus laid the blame on Remus. It was clear to her that he said Remus had taught him. If he hadn't Harry would not have protected himself. It would also mean that Harry would be dead and it sounded like Albus didn't care about it.
"Now, because it is his second warning he is in a little more trouble than I would like, but I will get him out" Albus went on.
"How can he have a second warning, are you telling me he already had one warning" Sirius screamed. Tonks was wondering how he knew about the first one and why he didn't do anything about it when he had heard of it.
"Sirius there was nothing I could do at the time and he only got a warning, it was his first time, nothing big".
Tonks shook her head and wondered if she was the only one who saw that things were wrong around here. It was at this time she remembered that almost all of them were under the potion of loyalty. It was the reason that they didn't but it still frustrated her enormously. The worse were Kingsley and Mad-eye. Both of them were trained to recognize a potion or the behavior that came with it. She did and saw the tell signs of adoration in Albus in all of them. When it happens you have to follow up and see how they react further. In the magical world, everyone could be under a spell or potion. When you see one sign you have to look for another. It was clear that none of the two had done what they had trained for. Even worse was the fact that Mad-Eye had been the one who had trained both of them and taught them what to look for. But he had not followed through himself. It was the one thing that hurt her feelings the most.
"Albus I want him out of there, It is clear he is not safe there and I want my godson here" Sirius screamed as he got up to his feet and slammed his hands on the table to make a more threatening impression.
"Are we sure the pampered prince didn't just throw the Patronus to impress some whore?" Severus sneered from the side.
Tonks heard the words and saw that Albus did nothing. Something inside of her snapped and she wanted to scream that Harry was not like that. At the last moment, she thought about the kid, no man she had talked to a couple of hours ago. He was everything but not an attention-seeking person. Everything he had told her was just that, but nothing he said impressed her. "Not everyone is like you Severus. He is not looking for recognition like you seem to do".
"Tonks, let's not fight," Albus told her while she just huffed back at him.
She hated Severus and the more she heard from him the more she hated him. "When are we going to get him, because all I heard was that he is not safe where he is".
"If the headmaster says he is safe then he is safe," Molly said as she gazed at Tonks to not go against the headmaster. Tonks wanted to react but Molly went on. "If you would just listen to Albus, then we might have a better look at what is happening. But you are not following us. You are not falling in line and telling the headmaster what is happening at the ministry like Kingsley and Mad-Eye are doing".
Tonks took a deep breath and grabbed her wand tighter. She was a second away from cursing both Kingsley and Mad-Eye. They were spying for Albus and she was sure Severus was spying for Lucius. He had been a Death Eater and she thought or well, she knew he still was. Once a scumbag always a scumbag her father had told her many times.
Tonks was just about to argue again when Albus spoke up. Now, I went to the ministry and I arranged for Harry to get a hearing somewhere next week. There, they will decide if his wand is getting snapped and expelled from Hogwarts or if everything is being forgiven".
"If he has defended himself he will go free, he has the right to perform magic if it is to defend yourself," Tonks said. Albus nodded but he didn't respond. His lack of response gave Tonks the idea that he didn't believe that Harry had defended himself. "Are you not sure he defended himself, do you think he lied and that, that" and she pointed at Severus, "Is telling the truth".
The eyes of Serius and Remus went over to Severus and right after it, to Albus. Their looks were telling her that they believed that something was off and not that Severus was right. But just like her, they couldn't go against it. they couldn't because they knew almost nothing. She couldn't because if she did she would give up her undercover assignment, the one the order didn't know about. By the look, Albus was giving them she knew that he had to do something right for Harry or they would leave. If he did then Tonks knew that Albus had more to do with this than they knew.
"I was planning to get him tonight, I sent a Muggle to tell the Dursleys that they have won a prize for a monster truck event and free food., all for tonight, and while the Dursleys are gone we will get Harry somewhere safe".
"We get him here" Sirius snapped.
"I mean here Sirius" Albus answered him quickly.
How does Albus know about Monster trucks Tonks thought to herself as she smiled inwardly at what Sirius had said. Just as she was about to let go of a deep sigh she thought about something else. If they won a prize wouldn't they take Harry along? While she thought about it she knew the answer was no, But then again, how did Albus know they would not take him along? It again told her he knew more than that did.

Tonks had just left for the Order when Amelia got up from behind her desk. Susan looked at her and wondered if she was in trouble. She knew she hadn't done anything wrong but the look from her aunty said something was wrong. "Let's go to the kitchen and have a hot Coco. You are not in any trouble and neither is Hannah. I think it is about time to tell you what Tonks had found out, or we think she had found out".
"It's about time" Susan mumbled as her aunt stopped right before her making Susan walk into her back.
"Susan" Amelia snapped softly. "You know I can't tell you anything about the things I'm working on. The only reason I'm telling you and Hannah is because you are helping me. It is also about one of your peers". While Amelia was telling her this they heard the Floo erupt and someone stepping through it and into the hallway. Amelia knew the Floo was private and only a handful of people could get through without permission.
"Susan where are you" the voice of Hannah called out to them from the hallway.
"I'm on my way to the kitchen and Aunty is making hot COCO".
"Delicious, tell her to make one for me too". Amelia just huffed as she walked on. When they all got to the kitchen Amelia just pointed her to the chairs and placed the Hot Coco before them. "Alright, it is time to tell you something about the thing we questioned you all about".
"Finally" Hannah mumbled as she looked guilty at the table for saying it.
Amelia knew that the both of them were looking out for Harry, the moment they had asked them about it. "There is not a lot I can tell you, but before I do it I want to know one more thing. When Harry was at Hogwarts, how did he look, was he the son of a Lord".
"No, he was a Muggle," Hannah said making Amelia look up. "There was nothing Lordy about him. Neville is very shy, but he is more Lordy than any of the Gryffindors".
"Neville, Neville Lobnbottom" Seeing Susan Blush lightly.
"Yes, him, Susan has the hots for him," Hannah told her.
"HANNAH" Susan screamed as she turned completely red.
Amelia didn't react and only asked for Hannah to go on. Hannah looked at Susan who just nodded at her, still red from a second before. "Well, we were already sorted into Hufflepuff when his name was called. We were all looking and were wondering who it was. We were looking for a stuck-up prince who was raised by his house elves in a castle. You know a boy with the stick still up his" and both Susan and Hannah went into a laughing fit.
Amelia pinched the bridge of her nose. "Hannah, you do know that those were just stories, and no one knew if he had been raised by House elves".
"We know that now. He didn't look at all like he was rich, he looked like he had nothing at all. By the looks of it, he was just a snot nose kid, too skinny and too wimpy when he walked up to the sorting hat".
The things Amelia heard made her think back to the times she had with James Potter. He had been an Auror just like Sirius and she had been. He had told her he had money and that he could be considered rich. but he would have to work because he wasn't that rich. His riches were in the things his family had. It did make her wonder what Albus had done with his possessions. "So Harry looked like a poor muggle, how did he act". Amelia witnessed how Susan and Hannah looked at each other for a moment. It was a way she used to do with her friend at Hogwarts. Too bad her friend didn't survive the war. The worst part of it all was that her friend had a little boy, a boy she was now trying to protect.
Again it was Hannah who answered her. "He was a muggle. He didn't know anything about magic and was only looking around himself in wonder. We all looked up at the ceiling and were in wonder but we all had heard about it before we went to Hogwarts. If he was raised by his house elves, then they would have told him about it as well. Just like you did with Susan and my parents did with me. No, Harry was not what we have learned and I think he didn't even know who he was".
Amelia raised her eyebrows as she listened to Hannah. It was now that Susan took over. "In our first year, he looked lost. I'm sure he was told that he was the boy who lived but before he arrived I think he didn't know. He might have heard it on the train but I'm sure he realized it when he went to sleep. On our first day, he looked like his puppy was kicked really hard".
"Of course, he looked like that," Hannah said to Susan. "I don't know how I would take it when I learn that I'm a boy who lived because a bad guy killed my parents, and I'm the one who killed him. Not even talking about the fact that the whole magical world is looking at him as the hero".
"O in Merlin's name, we really messed up, didn't we," Susan asked Hannah.
Amelia was watching the both of them but didn't know what they meant. "I think we did Susan, At least in our first year. We were all looking at him like he was a piece of meat".
"Well, he was a good-looking piece of meat".
"Stop it you two, You are both getting off track," Amelia told them. The last thing she wanted to know was what teenage girls thought about a teenage boy.
The both of them looked sheepishly at the table as both of them mumbled something. Amelia didn't need to know that the girls had been checking out boys and Harry was the piece of meat they were talking about. "Sorry Aunty", Susan started. "Well, it was clear to us that Harry didn't know anything about his past and we were not helping him. We have been looking at him like everyone did. He was the hero and he just walked around like he was better than us doing like he didn't know. Now we know he didn't So we only made it worse. I think the only one that wanted to help him had been Neville but Harry didn't see him. He did last year and I think they became friends. But Neville told me they were secret friends for now and that Hermione and Ronald didn't need to know".
"And you like the Longbottom boy," Amelia said looking at how Susan blushed and Hannah got a giggling fit. Before the girls could go on Amelia held up her hand. She had enough and she could fill in the rest. If she needed anything more she could always ask them later. "So let me tell you what I can for now".
Hannah wanted to say "FINA" but stopped halfway through the word as she saw the look Amelia gave her, missing the smirk that went with it.
"First of all, everything I say is still under the oath you have given me. When we are done I will release you from the oath and you are free to talk about it". Amelia didn't need to say it but she did it, to let the magic in the girls feel the oath so that it would help them by not talking about it. "It all started with Albus asking Tonks to help her with a group of people to fight Voldemort".
"So Harry was right and he is back" Hannah screamed.
Amelia pinched the bridge of her nose again and knew she had to start differently because the girls would jump to conclusions faster than she could talk. "We don't know that".
"BUT," the both of them said as Amelia held up her hand.
"Tonks was asked to join the group. Albus is the leader, and he says it is because of Voldemort" Again Amelia held up her hand to stop them. "He says he has proof but we do not know. Does it mean that Harry is telling the truth, it could be. But it could also mean that he is lying". This time both of the girls wanted to react but Amelia just gave them a look to stop them. "The third thing that could have happened is that Harry thought he saw him, Making it the truth for him. but that he has been mistaken. Again it are the things we do not know. Now Tonks was asked to join them. On the moment she did, she got this feeling".
"You mean the Auror feelings, the ones telling you when something is off" Susan asked.
"You mean the feeling that is telling her that you have done something wrong or that you did something" Hannah asked Susan who just nodded mumbling about it not being fair and all.
Amelia didn't react but just went on knowing she was doing right by Susan. "After that meeting, Tonks came to me and told me about her feelings. She didn't tell me anything about the group but I already knew about it. When she told me she said she had to protect Harry by keeping an eye on him".
"He is not going to like that very much," Hannah said.
"What do you mean" Amelia asked and almost regretted it right away. Because every time she went away from the path she was only left with more questions.
"Well, in our first year he was always looked at by all of us, he was the celebrity, the hero. In our second year, he was looked at, as a villain because he can speak Parceltounge. This all changed at the end of the year. At the end of that year, he became the hero again. In our third year, he was the reason why Sirius broke out of Azkaban and placed the whole school under the protection of the Dementors. Most of us blamed him because we were constantly reliving our worst nightmares. He was the only one who took the fight to them by learning the Patronus charm. Still, most of us blamed him because Sirius was after him. During every year people have been keeping an eye on him and he always knew. At the end of our last year, it was like he knew we were watching and many rushed away from him. We did not but it was like he was radiating some power that drove them away".
Amelia knew they were talking about the magic they felt coming from him that touched them. "And that only happened after the third task".
Again there was that look between them. "He was at peace in our first year. At least he was in the great hall" Hannah told Susan.
For another time Amelia had to frown at the things she heard. She did look at Susan and she could see her think about the words Hannah had said. "Yes, you are right he always sat in the middle of the table and always with Tonksy," Susan told them as Hannah Nodded.
"You mean he has been sitting with Tonks the whole first year and she doesn't remember anything about it or is she keeping it from me".
Both Susan and Hannah were surprised by the irritation in the voice of Amelia. At first, they didn't know why but then they remembered why Amelia thought so badly about it. "Tonksy isn't lying to you. I don't think she knows. I don't even think Harry knows he had been sitting with her".
"How do you mean they do not know" Amelia asked in wonder.
It was now that Susan was looking at the table and placing her fingers next to each other. It was like she was fantasizing about something in her mind. "They didn't know because they just did it" Susan went on, "The Gryffindor table and the Hufflepuff table were and are standing parallel to each other, as they have always been. Harry always took his place in the middle of the table on the Hufflepuff side. Tonks did the same at our table on the Gryffindor side. They were sitting back to back and never looked at each other. But it always seemed like there was a wall around them. During that time Harry always seemed at peace and Tonksy didn't look clumsy. When they were sitting together she never dropped her knife or fork. She always did it when she was sitting with us and away from Harry".
"Yes, I remember that," Hannah told them. "Wierd if you think about it. She always stumbled to her seat or in our common room, but she never had it when she was sitting near Harry".
The moment Susan had said it Amelia started to think. Her talk with Andromeda told her that Tonks had lost her base form. She did wonder if it could have something to do with Harry, but that couldn't be. they were seven years apart so her trauma to lose her grip on her base form could not have come from him.
It was then that Hedwig flew into the room. She dropped on the table and held her leg out to Amelia. Amelia took the letter and opened it. Hedwig didn't fly away and just looked at her. "Why isn't she flying away" Amelia asked.
"I don't think the letter is for you," Susan said as she held out an owl treat for Hedwig who took it.
"Harry, stay there. I will not be coming around now. but we will pick you up later. The Muggles will be going away so stay there" Amelia folded up the paper and saw Hedwig holding out her leg. "So you came here first to show me what they are going to do with your master".
Hedwig hooted loudly as she flapped her wings and barked at Amelia. Amelia sat back in fear as she looked at the owl that was ready to attack her. "Aunty, we already told you. Harry is her boy he is not her master, she is his" Susan smirked as Hedwig bobbed her head at Susan.
Amelia held up her hands in surrender as she looked at Hedwig. "I'm sorry but I'm glad you are helping your boy. Tonks gave you this note to take to him, didn't she" Hedwig bobbed her head again as she held out her leg a second time. Amelia tied the note bag on her leg and watched Hedwig fly out of the window.
"Why does Harry have to stay there and why are they getting him out of there? It doesn't make sense" Susan said as Hannah nodded along with her.
Amelia gave a big sigh as she looked out of the window for a moment. "Alright, let's skip some things. Harry says he has seen Voldemort. He might have seen him for real or he thinks he saw him. Now Fudge and Umbridge do not believe him, and neither does the dark side".
"Surprising" Hannah mumbled. Amelia wanted to say something but knew that the father of Hannah thought the same as she did. Most of the Darkside had been Death eaters and only stayed out of Azkaban because they had paid to stay out.
So Amelia just shrugged her shoulders and went on. "The light side is freaking out because they are afraid he is back and they have to fear for their lives again. The neutral like us are waiting to see what will happen. Now I will only know what is real when I can talk to Harry. Albus is keeping him away for a reason. Now Tonks found out that Harry didn't know anything about it, but also that he isn't been treated right".
"They are abusing him" Susan screamed as she jumped up.
Amelia pushed her back down in her seat. "Not like that" she almost screamed. "Tonks found out that something wasn't right and she was trying to get his trust first".
"Good luck with that" Hannah mumbled.
Amelia just looked at her but didn't respond to it. "Tonks was starting to get his trust because she got him to listen and have him stay in the place he is now".
"Why is he staying there and is she also getting him out later tonight" Susan asked her.
"You are a little too smart girl" Amelia smirked at her niece. "Wel Harry has to stay there now because something happened. There were two Dementors who attacked him a little while ago".
"They didn't succeed and whoever sent them is mad at him," Susan said while her eyes were digging into the eyes of her Aunt.
"Yes, we think it was someone at the ministry, but we do not know who. They wanted to expel Harry right there and snap his wand" Both girls wanted to react but stopped as Amelia kept on talking. "Yes, to the both of you, Harry took care of it and someone is trying to get him. Now I wanted to speak to him but Albus already told him to stay put. Now I do know where he is, but because Tonks is Undercover, so to say.
I have to do like I do not know it. Now Tonks will be there when they get Harry to wherever they take him. She will be helping him and finding out everything she can. It is clear to us that Harry will get a trial and when he gets it I will be there to help. If we are lucky Tonks will have a whole lot more to tell me and we can get Harry out of there right away".
"You are going to tell him about it aren't you" Susan asked her. Amelia looked at her with a clear question in her eyes. Susan saw it and knew what her auty wanted to know. "He is not really trusting towards the adults right now. He also knows more than you think".
"Tonks told me the same thing," Amelia told her.
"Good, because I think Harry is already planning something, and it isn't good".
"Why would you say that".
Susan looked at Hannah and had another conversation. Susan nodded and Hannah went on. "you remember the things we told you about his adventures at Hogwarts" Amelia nodded. "Wel it wasn't that he had any help from the adults. He never had any help at all, not with the small stuff, and none with the big stuff. He did it all. Ronald and Hemione might have helped him here and there. but in the end, it has always been him alone. Alone against Voldemort in our first year, alone against the snake in our second. The dementors in our third and last year against Voldemort. At least as far as he knows. If not he was still alone. He has also been in the infirmary more times than the rest of us".
Amelia was rubbing the side of her head as Susan and Hanna were telling her things she just could not place.
This was it again for this time see you all in two weeks.
