Mifune awoke suddenly, finding himself in a bright, sunny room in a bed far more luxurious than he'd ever known. He remembered Grimm letting him survive, but everything else was a blur…aside from the fact Crocodile seemed almost…pleased to have been killed by him.
Or rather, falling to 'one of the D'….whatever that meant.
The swordman also felt that the poison from the wound Crocodile had given him was gone. The wound would probably leave a scar, but his life was no in danger.
And then he realized he wasn't alone: All four of his captains smiled warmly at him as he awoke, their exhaustion clear but their eyes filled with relief.
"Welcome back, hero." Ben smirked.
"Had us worried for a bit." Sonson smiled, clearing tears from her eyes.
Draco turned air into water and quickly filled Mifune's cup, letting his friend drink it dry.
"You've been out for a week." The son of Whitebeard explained.
"And…you've been waiting for me the whole time?" The swordsman asked.
"We're your captains." Luffy explained as if it was obvious. "Its our duty. Chopper, Luna and Fuu have been here every hour to check on you."
Fuu.
Hearing her name and now knowing what he felt? Mifune was glad to be alive.
Alive.
He then looked out his window and saw Alabrana….as if nothing had ever happened.
"Long story short? Aladdin's Genie fruit finally awoke." Luffy beamed. "He wished for everything to be back to the way it was before Crocodile came."
Mifune's eyes widened in shock
"Sadly, he couldn't bring back…" Draco started.
"That's fine." Mifune cut him off. "As long as the people and you guys are safe…and the truth is known."
Ben revealed a Transponder snail.
"Miss All-Sunday left this. Croco-boy apparently did confess what realty happened between him and the Seven Swordsmen in case the World Gvoerment started investigating."
Mifune chuckled at that; not hubris vindicating his masters, but seeing that confession as proof the World Government had feared and respected his teachers. Sure, they weren't admirals, but they were strong enough.
"Oh!" Sonson smirked as the door opened. "Here she is. Right on time."
In stepped Fuu, who, seeing Mifune awake, dropped her tray and rushed to him, sobbing as she embraced him. The swordsman, after a moment of shock, returned the embrace and tried to shush the girl.
"I was so worried…!" Fuu managed before she cupped Mifune's face. "Don't you ever do something that stupidly reckless again!"
"Bit of a lost cause there, love." Ben muttered. "Us Ds are stupidly reckless by nature."
The two didn't hear: All Mifune did was remove his mask, revealing a sweet, adoring smile on his face before he cupped Fuu's cheek.
"Gotta get you to Wano first." He smiled, making her clear her eyes and smile back. "…Did you just use your Devil fruit? Cause well…I'm feeling ener…"
He then spied the look in Fuu's eyes: A sneaky, sassy and…dare the swordsman think it? Sensual look. A look that said;
'I am about to give you a reason to stay alive.'
Fuu then undid her obi and snuck a shoulder out of her kimono, her focus solely on Mifune, who blushed before smiling back.
"We'll leave you two be." Draco announced as he, Luffy, Sonson and Ben stepped out of the room, just as Sanji came over with a covered meal tray. Spying the looks on his captains' faces he asked:
"Guessing he's finally awake?"
"And soon with more motivation to stay alive than ever." Draco smirked as he gently began pushing the others away from the room.
"Hm. Good for him." Sanji smiled, then spied the risen eyebrows of Ben and Luffy. "What? If someone gets with their beloved? I'm happy for them."
This made everyone smile.
"Hey….So, since they're probably going to be eating something else…." Luffy began as she reached for the tray's cover, only to have her hand batted away by Ben.
"YOU JUST HAD BREAKFAST!"

Smoker was on Crocodile's old ship, the Full. Alongside him was one of his close friends and fellow Marine Captain, 'Black Cage' Hina.
"So this is what he used to create the Dance Powder." Smoker noted.
"This is a blatant disregard of the World Government's laws. Granted I would expect a pirate not to care, but a Warlord should've understood the limits of their privileges." Hina said while shaking her head before she took a long drag of her cigarette. "Disappointed... Hina is disappointed."
"Well, Crocodile is no more. One of the Straw Hats claimed his head." Smoker said. "The rest of his forces surrendered after our men arrived."
"Except for Mr. 1 and Mr. 3, who escaped in the confusion." Hina noted. "But Hina believes we'll be able to track them down soon."
Smoker sighed.
"What's on your mind?"
"Pirates saved this country, yet the higher-ups want to ignore that because they're pirates. It's becoming clearer than ever that the Marines don't understand justice. They only understand law."
"So what can we do about it?" Hina wondered.
"I might have an idea or two in mind...But that means biting the bullet and accepting that promotion Marine HQ is offering me."

As the Straw Hats started to recover from their battle, the members who had stayed behind of Merry where escorted to the palace, where they joined their friends in being greeted by Cobra and the Chimera Carpets.
"We cannot thank you enough." Cobra began, Vivi by his side.
"no matter what happens or what the world may come to say? Know that to Alabasta, the Straw Hat Pirates will always be seen as Heroes."
"And if you'll allow it? Allies of the Chimera Carpets." Sinbad promised.
"And…about the Swordsmen…" Shaar began, only for his late ally's students to raise a hand.
"As long as the people know the truth?" Mifune cut in. "That's enough for me."
"Are you certain you won't stay?" Sherzade asked warmly as she let Aladdin go and play with Chopper and Kirby.
"I made a promise to someone I need to keep." Mifune said, glancing down at Fuu with a smile, his partner and now lover cuddling with him. "Sides…I think Wano will be more my speed anyways."
"After we deal with Kaido, of course." Draco said.
That caught the eyes and ears of the adults in the room.
"You're ghoing to take on the strongest creature in the world?" Marouf asked, somewhat less shocked than he should've been.
"I'm going to be King of the pirates!" Luffy announced. "Can't be king if Emperors are causing trouble!"
"…Um, young lady…" Pell began
"A GIRL CAN BE A KING, ODA-DAMMIT!" Luffy snapped.
"Just…just roll with it, Papa." Vivi sighed.
"Yeah, its best to not get her started that…." Calvin nodded.
"Well, speaking of piracy, I do believe a reward is owed to our heroes," Cobra said. "Jafar, I believe Rain Dinners has that golden crocodile at the top of its pyramid yes?"
"I already sent out people to retrieve it. Masur went with them to help remove and dismantle it."
Nami's jaw dropped as Berri signs hit her eyes once more. Luffy just giggled as she swept up her girlfriend and carried her off.
"Where are you going?" Double-D asked.
"Nami's got the Berri fits again. Only one thing can help cure her."
"I see..." Fuu said, blushing as she realized what that entailed.
"Ah, now isn't that a lovely couple?" Boss noted.
"Well, Captain." Mifune smirked, giving a bow. "Do have fun."
"Side note; you may want to leave whatever they take be for a while…." Sonson added sheepishly. "My sister is….very creative. And passionate."
"…I did not need to know that." Nojiko said as Axol was hurriedly jotting down notes.
"Those better not make it into your manga!" Ruby demanded of her friend.
"….I'll pay to see those." Sanji and Heart asked.
"…Of course you would." Noire and Vivi sighed.
"What's so wrong with kissing?" Calvin asked. "I mean, yeah, its kinda gross but…"
And that right there, was when the Straw Hats realized their biggest challenge: Giving 'the birds and the bees' talk. At least it would've been without Chopper and Luna there.
One hour later
"….Goodbye, childhood." Calvin whimpered, now knowing he could never look at any girl the same way again.
"….Kirby is never learning that." Kaya ordered Ussop, then taking her son and nuzzling where his nose should be.
"Don't think he'd even care, but agreed for now." Ussop said.
"…for now?"
"Well, he might meet someone down the line…"
"USSOP, HE'S A BABY!"
"Like I said, down the line!"

Afterward, the crew was treated to a large banquet served by Igaram's wife Terracotta. Draco took one look at her, then Igaram.
"You two look remarkably identical. Also now I get your drunken ramblings back in Whiskey Peak."
Igaram laughed. "Yes, we get that a lot. Be sure to eat well. My wife just lov-*cough* Ma-Ma-Ma... Just loves it when guests have large appetites."
The guards were a little annoyed that the dining hall was louder than normal, but they did agree that they shouldn't have expected anything less from pirates.
Vivi just laughed as her friends kept digging in. Kohza also couldn't help but laugh, because his father was also gorging himself.
"You did need to put some meat on your bones after three years."
Luna let out a loud belch, completely unashamed as a few of the girls gave her disapproving looks, which she ignored.
"Big Sis Luna doesn't care much for manners. She says if you have to let it out, you gotta let it out." Chopper sighed.
"Dang, I think I just fell in love!" Eddy laughed.

Later the crew was welcomed into the hot springs.
"So, are you certain you want to go through with this?" Sinbad asked Cobra.
"I do." The king replied. "We asked for help from the World Government for three years and got nothing. Our relationship with them has always been on thin ice. And I won't sit around and wait for them to be the ones to break it."
"The new Sakura Kingdom has already seceded. I suppose now would be the best time." Spartos noted. "But you do realize what that means."
"I think Vivi has already wanted this from the start." Cobra smiled. "And this way she'll be able to grow strong enough that she won't need protection. She'll be able to rule by her own will."
The aged king then looked to Solomon, who was watching over Aladdin as he swam with Calvin, Kirby and Chopper, three of them using floaties Noire had picked up.
"Brother?"
Solomon looked over to his brother-in-law, then his captain and partner. He then looked at his son and recalled what the boy had gone through thanks to the World Government's ineptitude.
He would not let his family or people suffer under them again. Yes, this might bring more trouble to Alabasta, but they had allies across the world. Besides, it would be better for Aladdin to grow up around the people he would one day lead.
"I accept." He said.

Meanwhile, the girls were on the other side.
"Ah, this feels nice. A shallow bath like this is just what a Devil Fruit user needs to relax." Luna, now in her Blueberry form, beamed as the others sat atop her.
"Indeed, friend Luna." Penny smiled. "And after such an intense battle? We've earned this, no?"
Ruby was swimming along Kaya, now in her tigress form. While Luffy washed Nami's back and Nojiko did the same for Vivi.
"I wonder if there's a ship with a bathhouse this big."
"I'm certain there is." Sonson said. "I mean, from what Draco mentions about the other Emperor's? There's got to be at least one."
"If not, we should have the money to have one in our new ship…when we get it.'
"Maybe we can ask about that tomorrow." Heart mused as she moved over to Fuu. "So…do the swords compensate…?"
"No they do not." Fuu cut her off, suddenly blushing and reliving what had gone on in that room. "Oh, Mifune…."
"Really Heart? THAT old saying?" Kuina raised an eyebrow.
"…Lucky." Noire and Vivi both pouted, getting chuckles from Nojiko and Penny.
"My goodness! Whose caught the princess' eye? A certain…disaster monster boy, perhaps?"
Vivi blushed.
"Not to worry." Sherazade smiled warmly as she finished washing her hair. "They'll figure it out…eventually. Maybe with some coaxing."
"if its not too much, how did you and Solomon…?" Ruby asked, trying to find the right words.
"Oh, I was terrified of him, Sinbad and the others for quite some time." The woman explained. "Being a former slave and all. But…Well, I admittedly had it easier; Sinbad doesn't seem interested in anything but true comitmemnt and Solomon was always sweet and kind…"
As the queen apparent told her tales, time flew by. And then suddenly, Vivi, perhaps embolded
"You know, after all this, I feel that I have a dream of my own. I want to be able to see everything this world has to offer. To get that worldly experience a future ruler needs to properly lead her people."
Penny beamed. "Ben has that exact same dream! He wishes to explore all the mysteries the world is hiding and uncover its greatest treasures."
"By the way, I'm surprised no one's tried to peep yet," Nami noted.
"Shishishishi! You'd charge them all for the view." Luffy pointed out.
"And we're blocking it!" Ussop, Mifune and Axol called from the other side.

Ace and Sabo had to leave now that the situation was resolved. Still, they waited until the next morning to say goodbye
"I'm heading back to the fleet to get some backup. In the meantime, take this." Ace said as he handed Luffy a special paper. "That's a Vivre Card. So long as I have the other piece, you'll be able to find me."
Luffy nodded. "You got it, Ace!"
"Farewell to friends made!" Ed said as he picked up Ed and Sabo in a brief but strong hug.
"Jeez...!" Sabo wheezed. "His strength could give a Fishman a run for their money!"
"Be careful out there. I get the feeling things are only just heating up in the world." Draco said.
"And if anything else, you're always welcome on our crew, lads." Ben winked playfully.

Later, Draco came in with a delivery from the News Coo.
"New bounties are in. Luffy, you, Sonson, Ben, and I are officially part of it."
"Part of what?" Luffy asked.
"The Worst Generation. A group of rookie pirates known as the Supernovas."
He placed down a few wanted posters. Luffy, Sonson, Draco, and Ben now each had a bounty of 100 million Berris. Zoro had gotten his own bounty as "Pirate Hunter" Zoro, worth 60 million and Kuina had gotten the same bounty with the epithet of "Crimson Feather". Mifune had gotten Crocodile's old bounty of 81 million with the epithet of "Swordsman of the Desert Mist", while Heart was now being known as "Treasure Hunter" Ruby D. Heart at 50 million.
"There's no way we can stay in Alabasta after this," Nami realized.
"Alas, we all knew what we were signing up for." Double-D sighed.
"Indeed. A pirate's life is not easy." N'Doul concurred.
"Speaking of which, our numbers have gotten pretty big," Sonson noted. "We need to spring for a few extra ships."
"After all, with four captains, this crew needs to be a fleet more than anything," Ben added.
"On top of that, Merry definitely needs an overhaul." Kaya pointed out.
"Ah!" Cobra said. "Funny you should mention that!"

"…DAD WAS HERE?!" Ben called out a few minutes later
"Yes, for the umpteenth time! Apparently!" Sonson smnapped as she and the others all clung onto dear life as Draco, now in his 'Angerius' form, raced across the desserts to a certain location.
"This might just be the princess in me, but…Is Ben's father someone important?" Vivi asked.
"Important? IMPORTANT?!" Calvin shouted. "Hobbes! Explain!"
"Jack Sparrow. The Wildcard of the seas. Also known as Crazy Calamity, Current bounty 4 Billion Berri. Has rejected Warlord status multiple times and not only fought but survived clashes with the Emperors." The Tiger explained. "He occasionally got marooned on Little Garden and is drinking buddies Dory and Brogy."
"And he just…somehow LEFT a ship in the middle of the dessert?" Noire asked. "For us, or rather, Ben, specifically?"
"That is what he said, yes." Sinbad, in his Thunderbird form, explained.
Draco sighed.
"Don't question it, guys. Jack just….does things."
"So why didn't you tell us before?" Nami asked Luffy.
"Yeah, all due respect, that's pretty bug news." Zoro noted,
"Honestly?" Luffy said. "We weren't sure it was important. Ben barely knows him."
"Mum told me all I know about him." Ben explained, the pointing to his bandana. "This was his, apparently. Left it with mum when I was a baby, along with some treasure to get me started when I set out."
Draco suddenly came to a stop and there, true to the word; was ship waiting for them: A little aged by the desert winds and possibly in need of a paint job, but all in all?
"….I want in." Hilda said.
"I as well!" Penny nodded, then motioninuing a tearful Ben to step on.
For a few good minutes, Ben said nothing as he walked around and felt the ship. A wave of nostalgia overtaking him, along with a smile as he turned and motioned Draco to take the ship.
His friend then shifted into King Kong and lifted the ship, Ben still on it, easily. Penny and Hilda immeately joined him as he took out his sword to make a decree:
"Ladies, gentlemen and assorted others? I present to you the second ship of the Straw Hat Pirates….THE BLACK PEARL!"

They knew they had to leave the next morning.
"We need to make sure the Navy is off our tail first. And that means heading for neutral waters." Draco noted.
"Then there's only one place we can do that," Luffy said as she turned to Nami. "Nami, our next destination is Mock Town."
"I'll get us set."
"Allow me to assist you!"
The crew turned to see Mr. 2 enter, now with his legs waxed and with a different outfit.
"Thanks for the dress tips, ladies. Especially you, Noire." He said gratefully. "Allow me to reintroduce myself; I am Bentham, here to help you as needed in slipping past the Marine blockade."
"How do you plan to do that?" Choi asked.
"The rest of the now ex-Officer Agents of Baroque Works decided to help you in exchange for freeing us from what turned out to be a raw deal. So I'll be using this face..." Bentham disguised himself as Luffy. "And a few tricks from the others to make it look like you're trying to escape tonight. We've already set up a ship disguised as the Going Merry. You'll likely be hearing from the others again but... Sadly our parting will be much longer. For you see, I intend to sacrifice myself to the Marines. Once they catch me, they're sure to send me to Impel Down, after all."
"I guess this'll work out for you, huh?" Luna noted. "You'll get to meet your idol."
"One thing, please," Babe AKA Mr. 4 said as he handed Lassoo to Hilda. "Take care of Lassoo. He likes you. I don't want him locked up."
"We'll take extra good care of him!" Hilda promised as she pet Lassoo's head.
"So long as he doesn't take a gigantic shit on the floor!" Gottfried commented. "Speaking of which, let's give him a voice, shall we?"
Lassoo coughed and wheezed as Gottfried worked his magic, soon being able to talk.
"Ruh-Roh! Ri can talk row!"
"Guess we've got ourselves a Powder Monkey!" Luffy grinned. "Hope Usopp and Hilda can put him to good use!"
"You got it, Luffy!" Usopp saluted.

As the blockade moved in, a broadcast came in over the Transponder Snails.
"They're starting the TB now?" Hina wondered.
"This is King Nefertari Cobra! I am broadcasting this important decision for all the world to hear! For the last three years, our country has been suffering! And for three years, the World Government has not answered our cries for aid! And so, it is my decision that Alabasta shall officially secede from the World Government! If they want us to take care of ourselves, then we shall! But in exchange, we shall no longer render them help when they need it!"
Hina's jaw dropped. "This just got complicated."
"I will also be subsiding the throne." Cobra then added. "I was too weak to prevent and manage this disaster. So, from this moment forward, my brother-in-law, the brother of my late wife, Solomon, is king of Alabasta!"
Hina said nothing: Not only did the World Government lose a member and get called out on its terrible management, but now a pirate who rivalled the Emperors, arguably the greatest master of Haki alive…was the new king?
She could pratctically hear the Elders cursing this development from all the way in Mariejois.
"The Straw Hat's ship has been sighted!"
Hina snapped to attention. Her epithet was "Black Cage" for a good reason. She came out but noticed two ships. However, she noticed Luffy on the ship with the swan figurehead.
"The sheep ship is a decoy!" she called out. "After that other one!"
What she didn't know was that Bentham had dressed up as Luffy while disguised as him.
"This is where we part ways. Take care of the others." He said to Gem AKA Mr. 5, who nodded.
"You watch yourself. Impel Down is not a pleasant place."
"Of course, it isn't. It is the world's worst prison, after all."
"I just hope Marianne will be okay with those Straw Hats." Mikita AKA Miss Valentine noted.
"I'm sure she'll be fine. Besides, she's got her own Devil Fruit now." Zala AKA Miss Doublefinger said.
Bentham and his crew stayed behind as the other former agents sailed off in a submarine. By the time Hina came aboard, it was too late to realize she was tricked. Bentham had his crew attack the Marine ships, just to drive the point home. Sighing, Hina proceeded to lock up the entire group using the power of herCage-Cage Fruit, which let her create unbreakable shackles from her limbs. She then contacted Smoker.
"Well, it seems the Straw Hats escaped. So then, what's this idea you had in mind?"
"If we're going to return a sense of moral justice to the Marines, then we need to break down the system from the inside. But we need to do so secretly. Sengoku aside, I doubt the likes of Akainu or Aramaki would be welcoming of our ideology."

Vivi took one last look at her home. She knew she'd be leaving it behind for a long time.
"Will you be okay, chica?" Amingo asked as he put a hand on his ward's shoulder.
"I'll be fine, Amingo. Thank you for coming along with me and Carue."
"Hey, I must see the world to let them know the healing power of music and nature!" Amingo proudly said. "Besides, with me and Carue by your side, home isn't too far away no matter where you go."
The crew all got out their mugs in a toast.
"Let's have a toast to our new Negotiator Vivi! Our new Powder Monkey Lassoo! Our new Raid Officers Carue and Choi! Our new Sail Master Boss Dugong! Our new Musician Amingo! Axol's new apprentice artist, Marianne!" Luffy called out.
"And finally! The Black pearl!" Ben beamed from the deck of his own ship, now accompanied by Penny, Hilda, Rosa, Mifune and Fuu.
They all cheered, but then noticed one more voice among them. They all turned and spotted Robin there, drinking from her mug like it was no big deal.
"Miss All-Sunday!" Marianne gasped in delight, hugging Robin, who returned the embrace.
"Huh, I was wondering why there was an extra mug out..." Noire noted.
"When did she' get on the ship?" Boss wondered. "Who was in charge of guard duty?"
"…We gotta sort that out." Luffy realized when she couldn't answer right away.
"She must have snuck in when we were getting provisions," Mifune realized.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Vivi snapped.
"Now is that any way to speak to the one who helped you out this whole time, Princess?" Robin said. "After all, I did let you follow me to learn Crocodile's identity. Not to mention secretly turning on the Transponder Snail that caused him to broadcast what he did to Yuba and the whole country. Besides, I'm in the market for a new outfit, and you seem like you might be a good fit."
"…CREW MEETING" Sonson called out.

For what seemed like hours, the Straw hats went back and fourth. They recognized Robin as a former enemy, but also knew most of her past was probably the world Government's propaganda at play.
Besides, not even Vivi, who had EVERY reason to vouch for Robin getting punted overboard, could deny Marianne and Lassoo's puppy dog eyes when they begged for her to be given a chance.
Draco sighed. "So you want to join as well? Then I just have one question... What's your dream?"
"My dream?" Robin asked before closing her eyes as she pondered. "What I want, is to learn about the Void Century. A period of one hundred years that is somehow missing from the history books. I thought I could get it from the Poneglyph in Alabasta, but it turned out there was nothing regarding it. After twenty years, I've run out of clues. But then you all came along and proved strong enough to handle Crocodile. Perhaps if I travel with you long enough, then I'll find what I'm looking for."
"Ah, a mystery worth sinking my teeth into." Ben grinned as he turned to Luffy. "Think she's in?"
Luffy nodded. "Yup! Welcome aboard, Robin!"
"Well, we do need an Archaeologist. Crocus suggested as much, after all." Double-D noted. "And Robin would certainly fit the bill."
"How did you know her name?" Vivi asked.
"Nico Robin's kinda infamous...At least, so long as you believe what the World Government tells you." Draco said. "But the real truth is that she comes from a country that no longer exists. I only heard the story once, and what I heard wasn't pretty. Somehow she was slapped with a bounty of 79 million Berris, unheard of for a child."
"Well, you don't need to worry about that. My bounty far exceeds yours." Mifune chuckled.
"Technically, it was Crocodile's bounty first. Which reminds me..." Robin placed a large bag on the table. "I managed to sneak off with all Crocodile's valuables."
"I say she stays!" Nami cheered.
"Ditto!" Eddy added.
"Of course you two would..." Nojiko sighed.
"Hahahahaha!" Calvin laughed as he looked at what was in the bag. "Look at all this booty!"
"I know that's a pirate term, but I really think you should just say treasure." Hobbes told his best friend.
Heart chuckled. "And here I thought we got plenty of treasure from that giant golden crocodile."
"Thank goodness you've been keeping it in your bottomless treasure cave." Rosa joked. "Say...what even is on the other side of that gate?"
"No idea." Heart admitted. "All I know is whatever treasures I have on hand come in and come out."
"Well, it's a good thing we've got a lot to spare. Who knows how much we'll be spending going to Mock Town and Water 7." Fuu noted.
Marianne happily hugged Robin, overjoyed at being able to be on the same crew as her while Lassoo affectionately nuzzled her leg.
Vivi frowned. "Well... I guess you haven't really done anything bad so far as I know. Just mind your manners, and I'll have no problem with you being here."
"Thank you. This feels like my last chance, really. So I'll pin it all on you guys." Robin said.
And so the crew sailed off, plus one more member than expected, to their next destination. The next great leg of their journey to the end of the Grand Line.

Within the holy land, deep, deep with the World Government Headquaters, a being tensed; feeling something.
This feeling, whatever it was, reminded them of a time long since past. That pest Joyboy…The D Kingdom…and someone who had been special to them choosing the masses over godhood with them.
"….LILI!" They screamed in rage, shaking the castle as they did so
"….It appears Lord Imu knows." One of the Five Elders, the official rulers of the world, noted.
